That said, the translation is excellent and the story is pretty good, a light and fluffy read.

MC is very strong and very practical. There aren't any crazy revenge stories or dumbass villains. In fact, there are some subtle injustices (s*avery, witches) that MC wants to slowly be able to correct.

There's also a nice subtle sense of discovery. MC wakes up as an actual "beast" in a creature form, and slowly gets to understand what country and... more>> world he's woken up in, as well as find workarounds to the barriers to communication since he was in animal form. Very cute.

When alternative/potential s*upid plot points get raised up, MC easily slaps them down.

So to be honest I didn't have high hopes for this book... From just reading the description alone I thought it would be like the beast and the prince with action and all of that. Drama everywhere and it would soon end up like the other cliched books out there but that wasn't the case. I rarely read Japanese bl novels because of their average low ratings but I found this on random. Tbh I felt that this might not be good enough as well but I was wrong.

it’s a good novel. Smooth storytelling, likeable MC and ML. Rather than adventure theme, up till c78, it was more of slice of life. I really hope the author would continue writing. Maybe if more people would give the original works more stars, maybe the author would think to pick it up again.

I didn't saw that the author was on hiatus. I'm regretting so much, so be aware and use your own personal experiences from Wattpad to judge whether it is a good idea to start reading this novel or not.

About the novel itself, it doesn't has much action, which I was highly expecting, so I got disappointed. It gives a lot of slice of life vibes and I don't know much about the romance, whether it is the MC real feelings or not...
