“Orn Doula, today will be your last day in the party.”

Since the party was lacking someone who could play the essential role of Enchanter, it was the quickly adaptable Orn who had converted from Swordsman to Enchanter.

On a certain day, Orn, who belongs to the Hero Party is suddenly informed by the party leader – “your skills are lacking, so leave the party”. The other party members also insult him as a “weakling” and a “jack of all trades but a master of none”.

Orn is someone with both average physical abilities and magical skills – nothing outstanding.

Still, his worth is in being able to easily acquire skills that ordinary people have to obtain through much effort, Undeniably a “jack of all trades and master of none”. And that was why he had coveted and devoured all kinds of knowledge and techniques.

After being expelled from the party and getting a fresh start, he decides to resume adventuring. This being so, he chooses to return as a Swordsman since he was an Enchanter only due to party circumstances.

-However, having been an Enchanter was definitely not a waste.

His time in the Hero Party, knowledge, experience, and development of countless original magic will certainly nurture Orn into a Swordsman of unconventional strengths.

tl;dr - came for the expulsion, stayed for the post-expulsion

i decided to translate this after reading the manga adaptation and all the current available raws.

for those who are already fans of such expulsion / exile type stories, and don't mind having one more to read, than I'm preaching to the choir - this will probably be up your alley.

for those who are fans but want to know whether this is worth your time, or in other words, what sets this expulsion story from other series in the same genre, I... more>> would say that one of the key features that attracted me to translating this and which might appeal to you too, is that the author tries their best to ensure that the story is grounded. That is to mean that they try to make sure that everything has a plausible reason for why certain things happen in the story - why is the main character expelled? (There are deeper reasons beyond what is mentioned in the summary) why are they so strong? Why do labyrinths exist? How does the magic work? So for those who want a deeper and more detailed kind of worldbuilding, from your expulsion stories, this has that.

moreover, though it starts out as an expulsion story, it develops into a story with a wider conspiracy, where events surrounding the expulsion are not as simple as they might first seem, and those who like this sort of intrigue will probably also enjoy it. Lastly, this story also has an emphasis on character relations, how the main character interacts and grows through being with other people as he comes to join a clan and nurtures his own squad, the interactions between him and his former party members, other top explorers - there's less "solace in pretty women" and more solace in getting to know other people beyond his previously limited worldview.

for these reasons, I think this series would also appeal to those who aren't fans of the genre, but more fans of fantasy in general. <<less

Hmmmm... This ain't bad... The MC is OP, but not that c*cky... Everything is great and all until chapter 36... I was hoping that the MC will move out and go to solo adventure on his own but... Damn it... For me, this is just worst thing (... more>>
Spoiler

he joined to a well known clan

) coz the plot will be goin around it.... I still haven't saw a Harem-nification of the story, though there is 1 or 2 girl/s who, well, you know... But I still like this one... But I'm giving it a 4 star, for now, coz of the spoiler.. In which, I don't want to happen... That's all.... <<less

It's actually a pretty decent novel. The genre it's been overexploited and there are few novels that are actually worth reading, but this is absolutely one of them.

I can't say it's one of my top favorites in general since there are just a few chapters, but it definitely has the potential to be one of the best of the genre

Ultimately, this novel is boring. It's not as bad as other novels of its type, but likes others it fails to be engaging. The plot holes are abyssal, and it feels too much like the world is there to please and extol the MC.

Orn, the MC, was expelled from his adventurer party due to the misunderstanding that he was useless. Well, considering all the jobs he was juggling for the team, while giving buff to and leading his team... the misunderstanding is nonsensical. Anyone partying with such a person for... more>> a month would understand how important he is. As such, Orn was victim of s*upidity (mainly that of his team leader, Oliver, who failed to understand his friend's contribution despite many years; but also of Orn, who kept secret all the ways he was helping the party and never sharing vital information about his combat capabilities).

Beyond that, what makes me drop this novel is the level of figurative m*sturbation the world provides to the MC. He is pictured by others as perfect, so strong, so deserving of more,... he only has to extend his hand, and the world will provide. There is no stakes, nothing to spice up the novel. <<less

It does take a different stance to the whole kicked out of the hero party plot with the MC saving a girl and starting a harem and all. There are like 2 girls that like him (3 if you’re weird and wanna add 1 of the girl’s little sister) They are doing something with the MC Background I have no clue what but It adds mystery and I can’t wait to find out

As others have said. It doesn't have enough chapters translated to say for sure it's the best of the best, but it's pretty darn good and the author (and translator) has done a great job at making the world believable. The excuse for his expulsion makes sense from the perspective of "I want to be the best and he's not good enough" (though, like any expulsion novel where the MC is actually a super helpful member from our third party perspective, it's hard to see it from the perspective of... more>> his previous party). It's worth giving a shot, I was hooked within two chapters, but your mileage may vary. If you're still reading reviews and on the fence, just jump in and give it a shot, if you really didn't want to read it you wouldn't still be reading this review. <<less

It's not a masterpiece. But, it's good. This novel is underrated I think. Maybe because of many people who doesn't like this type of story. But if you like this type of genre, go fo it. It's pretty good read.

Do not be deceived, I'm afraid there is no novel to be found here. This is almost purely just an event and battle log from a JRPG with skill and organization names making up half the text. You can skip entire chapters of pointless exposition and step by step battle moves, and you will miss out on nothing. Ill summarize the first 60ish chapters:
Spoiler

MC leaves party, party realizes the mistake too late, MC kills dragon, becomes instant bigwig with students.

There, all you missed were the waifu appearances.

There aren't a lot of novels that keep me up all night lmao; I really enjoyed the care that exists is in controlling the story's pace and the characters personalities.

I think it was refreshing seeing a MC with such a complex thought process over his and others' capabilities, he isn't c*cky and while he's claimed to be all powerful by others, he's humbled himself; not to mention the little, and very intriguing side story foreshadowing of the possibility for MC to still become more OP. That side story I think... more>> had me hooked lol, there's a huge mystery factor going on along with not quite subtle foreshadowing used by the author. I'll be rereading it over again to make sure I didn't wear rose-tinted glasses while binging this. Otherwise, it has been a really fun story with memorable and not super cliched characters. <<less

What can I say?

The story itself is somewhat cliche, yet at the same time, it's not. It actively exploits the whole "expelled from the hero party" trope as a proper plot device that actually makes sense and leads the story into a bigger picture.

Can't say whether it's a gem or another generic novel that no one knows when it would be axed.

It's mediocre but entertaining enough to keep going. Some original ideas, but just not that interesting.

The first couple chapters of "betrayal" and being kicked from the Hero party are literal clones of others in the genre, I thought I might have read this one before. MC is ultra-OP, but hid it and also never properly communicated it to the Hero Party so I don't fully blame them.

It does go in a different direction than pure revenge as the MC joins a large corporate guild, and becomes a teacher in it... more>> which is the main bulk of the story. <<less

Pretty good beginning, but now for the last 20 chapters it has been very cliche and generic, I actually just read the chapters, and will probably forget them in an hour, that's how little impact they have.

I really hope the author does something to shake things up
