Lu Yiping was an ancient monk who witnessed the fall of countless powerful gods in the battle of the gods.

Since then, he has been living in seclusion in the ancient forest, practicing day and night, and vowing that he will not come out when he is not strong enough to fight the Great Tribulation of Heaven and Earth.

One era after another has passed.

A little snake next to him became the ancestor of the dragon clan.

A little girl he adopted became an invincible empress.

One of the swordsmen he pointed out became a sword god who was famous forever.

An old tree he planted at will became the patron saint of the strongest kingdom in history.

The years have changed the vicissitudes of life, one after another strong rises, and generations of strong grow old and perish.

Lu Yiping has been practicing his longevity arts in the deep mountains. Occasionally, he played the guqin, practiced painting, practiced swordsmanship, and looked at the various magical skills and great insights left by the countless gods who perished that year.

Finally, he had cultivated the Longevity Art to the last level, feeling that his strength could fight against the Great Tribulation of Heaven and Earth, and then he walked out of the Sacred Forest.

Emperor's Domination - prototype of this novel. MC is a million years old invincible monster, and he clearly understand this. Now he started his journey to uncover secrets of the past. He was defeated million years ago, and was forced to retreat.

All his disciples were trained out of boredom, all misundestendings from his strength.

ED 100 chps:Emperor's Domination without s*upid fillers! Gem 100% (my exp is 1, 000 xianxia novels, this one is really good). 100chps in one breath, last one was issth from this genre! Why wuxianovel translating all this... more>> tr*sh but missed those one

Honestly, don't look on the rating. Among 1, 000 popular xianxia, this one is top10, I'm astounding <<less

Have you read Emperor's Domination? Does the summary sound painfully familiar? It should - since it's almost 1:1 copy from ED's summary. As is the whole novel is a rip-off of ED.

As one of the reviewers mentioned, it can indeed be described as "ED without fillers". Sounds good, right? Alas, it's just that - good on paper, but doesn't work. There's a reason ED is #1 All time on activity and this is #3636, and i'll tell it to you.

Author didn't bother to change things they copied from ED. It's... more>> 1 to 1 copy (albeit a crappy one) :

*MC is million years old reclusive ancestor? Check

*MC has nurtured countless cultivation legends? Check

*MC poses as a mysterious young master that everyone thinks is a mortal? Check

*MC doesn't take sh*t and just oneshots arrogant young (and old) masters? Check

*An ominous dark entity that corrupts stuff from behind the curtain? Check

*A mysterious battlefield that all top cultivators end up going to and die? Check

The whole novel feels like the author is a 12 yo kid who really liked ED and decided they want to write their own character who would be as cool and overpowered as Li Qiye. Even the writing style seems to copy that of ED (and fails miserably).

Author takes parts that he liked in ED and copies them 1:1 into their own story. What author fails to understand is that you can't take a Lamborghini engine, slap it on a kid bicycle and expect it to work. ED, despite it's many shortcomings, has very strong worldbuilding and plot. This novel has nothing.

There's no plot - MC just goes from place to place oneshotting people. The power levels are completely irrelevant - we're introduced a character at Golden Core. Is that supposed to be a big shot? No idea, he gets oneshot without showing how powerful GC is. Another one shows up - he's two levels higher. Is that powerful? What can he do? No idea, he gets rekt. The next one is a True God. Sounds strong. Is he much stronger than previous guys? No idea - he spawns 10k ghosts and gets oneshot. And all of this happens within first 20 chapters. In ED every power level was clearly explained and shown to the reader. They could clearly understand how powerful a character and got excited when MC got to fight with clearly more powerful enemies, even if he ended up overpowering all of them.

There's no worldbuilding. In ED the readers got slowly introduced to the world, its regions, factions, big shots etc. "Oh, this is the sect of MC's favorite pupil!" "Ah, so that's a technique left behind his old friend and is much stronger than common techniques". All of this happens over several chapters, while author slowly unravels the story. This novel? MC gets to a place: "This is a sect of my pupil". Boom, oneshot this guy and this demon, let's go to next place - this happens over 2-3 chapters. It feels super rushed and the reader gets sects, characters, techniques dumped of them without any substance behind them, and without any reason for reader to care.

Now to get back to this novel being "ED without fillers". Is it a good thing after all? In ED many important things are introduced after explaining some background over a dozen 'filler' chapters. However, after the reader have read the fillers, he's going "wow damn, it's that super old demon that MC was talking about 50 chapters ago!". In this novel author drops everything on the reader in one go. "This is a super old demon MC saw 500 000 years ago" - "Oh ok, sounds badass". "This is a mighty sword left behind by MC disciple" - "Alright". No backstory, no foreshadowing, no reason to care. <<less

Whoever says that this novel is the prototype fro Emperor's Domination has holes in their brain. While they do share similarities, ED is by far the superior novel. Even if I have dropped ED, I did read a good 1000 chapters and it had a plot and good progression. We saw the MC regain his strength and battle enemies along the way. He had a stable set of techniques that he used, and gradually he used more but it made sense as the plot progressed and he gained more treasures.

This... more>> novel is nonsensical and does not have any sense of proportion. Many random characters a introduced and no one can keep track of all of them. Almost everyone who is introduced ends up insulting him and then getting face slapped. MC is OP, and there is nothing wrong with that. But he just keeps defeating enemies after enemies and obviously the people he fights are stronger and stronger as the novel progresses, but we can never really feel this as one, they are introduced in 1 chapter and then die in the next. Secondly, all the realms and levels were never properly explained and fleshed out. Their names are confusing af and so when I read people going omg X ancestor or y ancestor is a martial celestial god maximum expert!! And then they pee their pants as they are fangirling too hard, I still never really understand the gravity that I believe the author wants me to have. And so this happens for literally every fight and my sense of excitement is a 0, which in my opinion make this novel a bit fat failure. <<less

Translation is not the best, needs some editing. The story is fun if you think of it as a slice of life. There is a plot but it's not anything too interesting. But I like the aspect of the OP protagonist going around the world he hasn't been in for a million years, reminiscing and observing the changes. There are many people who "have eyes but can't see mount Tai" to make the MC's journey eventful. Overall a fun read so far.

It's a novel like 'I'm actually a cultivation bigshot' and 'It turns out I'm a dao ancestor'.

It's a typical OP MC but with the bonus that everything he touches becomes OP too, but he doesn't realize it

~Don't bother~

Worst power scaling, forgettable characters, and most importantly a dead plot. Whoever wrote this had absolutely no idea how to proceed after ch 5.

I can read mandarin so I read until some 200 chapters but boy I was disappointed by the plot. The author is officially brain-dead

The translation of the first few chapters isn't so good, but it seems to get better later. Not perfect, but the worst problems (shifting tenses and pronouns, namely) seem to ease up - but not entirely vanish. Word choice can still be kind of hilarious at times.

The novel itself though...

If you say it has no filler, I don't know if you know what filler is. The whole thing is filler. It's just one endless filler as the OPest-OP MC ever sits around letting people run their mouth before he instructs... more>> a subordinate to slap their face. He could finish it all with the briefest flash of a small portion of his power, but doesn't. Ever.

But neither does he hide. Or anything. He just sits back and let's the various young masters flex their filler until he has a subordinate filler them to death. What's the point? Who knows.

He doesn't form any relationships. At all. That's not the point. World building? Ha! Plot? It's just a bunch of ants dancing for him, so no, not plot. It doesn't even have the (ideally) humorous juxtaposition of the unknowing OP Master genre.

I don't know what the heck this thing is supposed to be, aside from filler. It's just all filler. All of it. <<less

Not that bad, except the last 1-2 arcs it was quite interesting, the disciples part is also mediocre, and lots of face slapping. However, the fact that it's depicted as a travel through realms (from lower world to above) with a real op MC (from the start already really high-level) made it a nice read.

But yes, not some profound literacy.
