Cute.. cute.. cute.. cute........

I love how the story turns out and how both characters are fleshed out. To begin, I accidentally stumbled this GEM and was thinking of just skimming some chapters but what a great surprise, I was HOOKED! Definitely hooked with both the loveable Xie Ruan and charismatic Bo Jin.

To be honest, the story is not new and its the typical "fool-in-love cannon fodder woke up and no longer in love" trope. But what keeps me going is the characterization of Xie Ruan. I'm not really a fan... more>> of tsundures so I was skeptical at first but I love how rational he is and how spoof out he is on Bo Jin's teasing without the usual cringe and raise eyebrow feeling. He is also very goal-driven and with Bo jin's genius mind and his notes ~ our cutie is soaring high in high school hehe.

Also, I though Bo jin will be the typical aloof top 1 student in the story but he is actually very grounded. He is not the usual arrogant-do-not-see-people-aside-from-my-cutie person. He has friends and he is strict but not to the point where he ab*se it. He is funny, flirty, has a high EQ and also BIG heart (hehe).

Please give this a chance. If you want a lighthearted BL drama with lots and lots of sugar, this is it for you! <<less

While I'm not really interested in the CP's romance (which is a shame, because that's literally 97% of the novel) I find the ML refreshingly full of character! He has a personality that drives the story.

This story is just about them flirting the entire way. From the moment the MC broke up with his ex, the entire story is about them getting to the point where they actually get together. Which is just the ML flirting with the MC. That's the entire novel.

There's also other elements that are fun like... more>> their backgrounds, the past-life mysteries (why did ML jump?) the MC's progress with his studying etc. Although there are antagonists, the face slapping is mild and not really aggressive. But yeah this is a refreshingly pure and simple romance story. Recommend! <<less

Absolutely Great and Absolutely Cute story so far. Sure there's a bit mystery about their family or the lack of it, but that's probably because I'm only in the 30ish chapter and their family background still not mentioned much.

But that family is the hints of the Angst. Though I don't think they will have Angsty moment. At least I hope not...

Anyway I Love how being close to ML make MC can easily study with his best. Not only because ML help his study, emotionally he also support him greatly!

Both MC... more>> and ML truly support each other Emotionally without them realizing it. I mean, sure MC does have intention at the beginning with how you can see the summary mentioned. But all his Soft-hearted, all his Genuinely Care, and him stay beside ML truly become the light that shines the darkness in ML's.

Anyway this novel is Comedic but also So Cute and Heartwarming!!! It's Absolutely Precious so far I can't wait for more feeling to Develop!

The past of the ML revealed. And it hurts. And we get to know MC's family. Also Heartache.

But this shows how they're becoming each other's light in the darkness.

Even when baddies tried to break our Couple apart, our MC doesn't doubt ML's love. While ML did have insecurity, it's MC's turn to shows his love.

So they truly Love Each Other so Deeply and Absolutely and NO ONE and NOTHING could break then apart!!!

The Family Angst wasn't so Angsty because MC and ML truly have Each Other Love and Care and they already think of each other as Family, and so their so called (Former) Family Love is No Use anymore. (The Lil bro is still Good bro though. Only the So called Parents was at fault)

And the Ending... Slightly Unexpected but not so Surprising and I'm Satisfied !

Anyway this novel is Absolutely LOVABLE AND I LOVE IT SOOOOOO FREAKING FCKING MUCH FOR ETERNALLY AND BEYOND IN ANY UNIVERSE!!! <<less

Cute! Very cute!

This got me giggling and squeeling in the middle of the night.

I don't really usually like tsunderes because I think they're annoying, but this MC made me realize why they are so popular He's so freaking adorable.

The plot is decent, no obvious loopholes, no exagerated drama, overall a very nice quick read. Worth giving a try.

There may be explanation later in the chapters but the ML being interested with MC in the first chapter just made me lose interest with the story.

The teasing was cute at first but I can't seem to get excited just as what everyone says in the comments.

So, liking this novel can only be determined by your preferences. If you like a somehow fast-paced romance then this may be for you. But if you like a slowburn romance like me, then you may not enjoy this.

hyperthymesia, as well as people's over-the-top reactions to it (eg. All the people and adults in the orphanage being scared to be around the ML). It felt like a fictional illness at one point, since hyperthymesia doesn't guarantee memory accuracy and can also be prone to mistakes.

And people avoiding the ML because of it seemed really surprising-- is CN culture so egotistical? Is someone remembering your foibles that big of a deal? I personally wouldn't care if someone was recording all of my embarrassing moments as long as I'm not personally forced to recall them lol

And also the reason for the MC's sudden awakening was never explained, nor the novel world, unfortunately.

There were also a bunch of other dropped plot points. Overall the premise was worth reading about, but I wish the execution was better.

—I can see this storyline in a more realistic sense. The progression of their relationship is steady and very much fits in with the uncertainty of growing up and falling in love for the first time. I found myself verbally cheering for them when silly moments happened and physically tearing up during (minor) emotional conflicts. Picture this: two lonely comets cross paths by chance and slowly get pulled into each others' gravity, revolving around one another for the rest of their days. That's how I think of the MC and ML.

Concerning the ex-boyfriend (+family), they're a byproduct of the ML's brief revenge plot line, but there's no real face slapping or crematorium style comeback there.

There are moments of dark humor as it's noted in the summary, but nothing too heavy handed. MC and ML do have tragic backstories, but it doesn't affect them too heavily in the plot.

I felt for ML when his hyperthymesia was exposed. To remember everything he's seen, of course he'd have to face a lot of backlash from people he cares for, so when MC regards ML's condition as a positive (because ML will forever remember the love he has for MC and vice versa), it was so!!!

An entertaining novel, but not very high quality. The word-building is very lacking: it is explained that this is the world of a novel and MC is a side character with a bad ending, but other than MC leaving the og ML and starting to care about his own future, that fact is completely disregarded.

The og MC is only talked about once in the whole novel (as far as I've read, which is about 2/3rd of the novel) and never again. The og ML only appears sometimes to act... more>> stubborn, but his appearance is very inconsistent - as if the author mostly forgets that he exists and only adds him in when they remember.

The plot of the novel is completely disregarded and never discussed or included at all. MC only has that one epiphany about his role in the novel and decides to start studying and stop pursuing og ML - then that plotline is abandoned, pretty much.

MC - typical tsundere, hard-working cute guy. Not bad, but not a special character. Pretty 2D most of the time. Barely has character development. He's also discreetly feminised (the way most shou characters are) but without explicitly stating he's feminine. Frustrating, trope-based writing.

ML - he's supposed to be a cool genius with a tragic past, but all he's portrayed as is a flirt for the MC. All he does in the novel is act flirty and lust for the MC, pretty much. Yeah, he's a genius and all, but since about 95% of the plot is just the main couple interacting, he's just shown as a shameless flirt.

Sometimes the author tries to write deeper, portraying the issues the main couple face and their sad pasts, but it's fleeting and most of the focus is just on them flirting.

The progression of their relationship felt natural, but it was honestly nothing special - just cliché after cliché.

Really doesn't deserve the current ranking. Pretty average, all in all. <<less

An enjoyable read. The misunderstandings lead to (slightly dark) humor. I enjoyed the romantic progression, it was slow but felt realistic for their relationship and dynamic. Although the premise mentions Xie Ruan recalling events from a BL novel, it’s considerably insignificant in the grand scheme of things. An easy read, I enjoyed the 20 translated chapters (thank you Lazy Girl Translations!) and then couldn’t wait so I binged the MTL, which is understandable enough to get the gist.

I think this is a pretty good novel. I finished reading it using the raws because I was impatient as always.

there were a few occasional drama here and there but other than that, it was pretty good. It wasn’t repetitive.

i probably won’t binge read it again, but I would definitely recommend this!

This novel is a bit of a mixed bag. The writing style is fun and I did like the characters, I just felt that the author didn't really plan out their plot very well. The first thing that annoyed me was the MC's backstory. He's absolutely infatuated with the protagonist of a book, suddenly realizes he's in a book and destined to die, and completely does a 180. That's fine but the change in personality was just too sudden.

After the flip, the author goes out of their way to tell... more>> the reader how prideful he is and that he's a fighter/delinquent student, which doesn't really vibe with the desperate-in-love-til-i-die character he used to be. I thought it would have made more sense if he was simply reincarnated rather than forcing a book plot, which doesn't really even come up again. This would explain the personality change much better.

The second annoying thing is that all of the villains more or less solve themselves with very little input from the MC or ML. This novel is 90% fluffy romance and 10% plot. That said, I did read all of it and mostly enjoyed it. <<less

Compared to the author's previous story, this story can be said to be much lighter, but at the same time all the conflicts in the story are resolved properly without anything being left behind (unlike the previous story which left quite a lot of things unanswered).

So yeah this story is good, both main characters have clear traits from the beginning, so there's not too much turmoil about their characters. As for the side characters, they're not too prominent but not too flat either, you could say they're all good.

For the... more>> plot itself is actually very light, and for me the story is actually become a little boring when it's heading towards the end.

But overall it can be said that this story is okay.

The point is, don't expect something too much in this story, you could say this story is only suitable as a diversion when you run out of another story. <<less

Absolutely love it. At first I thought it will go the usual cliché way when the MC regained self-awareness. But it didn't. And the chapters got better and better. I like the interaction between the ML and the MC. The reactions of MC when ML teases him is endearing. Their chemistry is pretty good..

Cute, cute, and cute.... One of my favourite danmei to constantly re-visit. It doesn't bring anything new or extraordinary to the table, but it's fun and easy to read. Each side characters have their own distinct personalities without feeling two dimensional, and the story is also enjoyable while being simple. The best part about this novel is the MC and ML dynamic which I'm not even going to lengths about or I'll never stop typing. The MC is a huge tsundere and the ML is a huge tease but somehow... more>> they never felt annoying, their growing fondness for eachother feeling completely natural.

I don't have much to complain about, but one weird thing is how the supposedly infatuated MC completely lost feelings for his original boyfriend after his realisation. This allows for too much plot holes and doesn't feel realistic. This would work better as a rebirth story. Secondly, the discrimination against hyperthymesia here is a bit too exaggerated in my opinion. These didn't ruin my reading experience though, my only actual personal complaint being not enough chapters and I would happily purchase a few extras for snippets of their future life... <<less

One of the best novels I've read this year!! Simply incredible development, incredible characters especially MC and ML, ML has an incredible personality, every time he appeared I knew I would laugh, the interactions between MC and ML ARE INCREDIBLE, they both love each other and always show it, it's a read for you to read after reading something horrible, a cute read where you explode with love with both of them, don't expect a very big plot, it's something very silly for teenagers in high school. Sweet high school romance! I love how the ML is hilarious haha and how the MC grew a lot from his hard work. I love how the mother and the stepfather were kicked aside. I did wish he got closer to the uncle and the step brother!

This was such a lovely read. Quite a sweet school life romance, with some sprinkling of found family themes. Both MC and ML don't have the best bio family relationship. But the novel manages to still keep it pretty light, while still clearly conveying in small snippets the effects of abandonment or neglect can have on a person.

Both MC and ML are kind of OP lol, but take this as a light hearted read. Not for those looking for something thought provoking. I enjoyed this a lot because it was... more>> a palate cleanser after reading something dark and abusive. I needed this.

It was actually not that great but it was easy to read and enjoyable enough with not much drama. I am giving it 4 stars cz I feel generous.

The description of ML illness was mostly fictional though. I googled it, it does not work like that. But well we have a book character acquire consciousness here, so who cares how realistic this illness is portrayed. Funny that the story being actually a book plot did not matter that much, it could be any other fictional reason.

In general, I am satisfied.... more>> Nothing special but I felt good reading it.

Got pulled by the high reviews but tbh it's just your typical bl transmigration stories, he woke up and then move on. I really don't mind, but the way the characters acted was just bizarre, like they're doing it for the plot rather than their own innate character, which is a bad writing style for my taste.

Like how suddenly a random person cared about someone just because they knew they'll die in the future. The person never have a connection with him or ever done something with them, I get... more>> that they want to save them cause why not, but the amount of attention was just too much. Why is it you life's goal to save him now? Right from the start when you hardly care for them. Maybe I'm so callused with life that I can't care much if I'm in the MC'S position, but I'm not that scarred enough to listen to reasons, if the reason is convincing then why not, but I was just not convinced.

By the way, it's not really the reason why I rated this low. It's MC reasoning, like he just heard two things about depression in the internet and he assumed that the ML is one, and pretty convinced with it too. Like there were no signs so why assumed it was? It would help better if he just thought it as one possibility but he pretty much convinced it was the case. Other than making it for a plot device, I can't see other reason aside from him being dumb. Well, either of the two, I'm out.

I also don't like how the other characters act.

Honestly, I just dropped this as the characters were not acting like real people, which maybe not the books fault as it was said that they're controlled by the author's plot, but I just can't stay looking at cardboard characters even of they're not and have reasons why they act like that. It just made me tired. <<less

This was a satisfying read. It wasn't anything crazy with mind blowing drama or action but something calm with a semi-realistic setting. It has the normal high school trope of bad student x top student while being unique.

While the Xie is a very tsundere protagonist he is also very honest to a fault. He can't lie too well to Bo which in turn makes it kinda endearing to see him get flustered.

Bo is a very likeable ML that truly cares for his wife and knows when he needs to turn... more>> down his teasing. He's not overly possessive or does he have a nasty temper. He a very chill no. 1 student with a good friend group to boot.

I guess my only thing would be about He Chen, the MC's younger half-brother.

The MC's family life is pitiful to say the least. His father committed su*cide and his mother remairried a s*umbag. His mother seems to delude herself into thinking she cares for the MC while she neglects him. The stepfather openly dislikes MC and often badmouths him. The only good thing about his family is the younger step-brother, who genuinely loves his older brother, MC. However the MC doesn't know how to handle his brother's attention so he seems cold hearted. So I am a bit disappointed that we see no 'ending' for him.

Other than this everything else was great all loose ties were tied up. The main couple got together, the mystery of why the ML died is solved, and the main couple is set up for a bright future. All in all a good story. (｡•̀ᴗ-) ✧ <<less
