The Hyena of Capitalism

Description

I am a hyena. A hyena who doesn’t shy away from even the most rotten flesh in the vast ecosystem of capitalism, the kind that others won’t touch. I feast on the scraps left behind by the apex predators, but sometimes, I even dare to pounce on the wounded giants themselves. There is nothing I won’t devour.

This is not your typical investment or cheat CEO novel. Instead it's about someone without supernatural abilities but with business acumen and a talent for monopolising the financial gains - not just cutting out competing businesses but also his workers and the state.

This is truly the tale of a ruthless capitalist.

Out of the stories I've read and watched including other media, this has been most reminiscent of "Lord of War" and "War Dogs", just that it's not about weapons but about recycling established during a crucial period of South Korea's... more>> economy and the technological boom of the 90's.

But even if the product of the trade is less exciting than in those films, the business with all its profits and dangers of both legal and illegal ventures (or illegal portions of legal ventures) is every bit as gripping.

I can only highly recommend this to anyone who isn't bothered by a protagonist who is more of a villain than a hero, but not without virtues. <<less
