Im not finished with this novel yet as its LONG but I needed to write a review.

World building: It's our world lol, except early 2010's.

Characters: The author does a great job at making the people feel alive (although technically I guess they are). They have different distinct personalities and well you may risk a celebrity you like getting depicted in a bad view (Like Brad Pitt and Angelina) but mostly they're likable.

The author also does great with sometimes switching to the POV of fans of Renly so you can truly... more>> see how far he's come. This happens fairly often and is a great touch.

Renly himself is a gentleman and a GENIUS (as mentioned by literally everyone) haha. Although I wish his previous life impacted him more as I often forget hes a reincarnator.

Some cons:

The so-called humor that Renly has is... well maybe it's funny in chinese writing but with MTL he's just saying whatever and for some reason people are loosing their balls over it. Not a big deal tho, rather this than everyone finding him to be an unfunny dork.

MTL: Well there are 600 chaps on webnovel (450 when I started) but you have to MTL the rest. Luckily it's written in simple chinese. Some novels make zero sense MTL'ed but this one mostly does well. Translating with deepL does it even better but takes a longer time than just translating the page on google.

Anyway as a huge showbiz fan who has read many novels this is my absolute favourite. It goes into incredible detail (although too much detail sometimes) on the movies, industry etc. <<less

Finally! It's time that someone took this from Webnovel! THIS NOVEL IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! The translation needs to improve a bit but I'm just happy that someone decided to continue it. The first 450 chapters can be read in Webnovel and that one has a mix of proper translations and mtls. Either way, this is a GEM. One of my all time favorites! You will not be disappointed I guarantee.

Finally! This novel is a fvcking gem pleaaaase. Unlike other entertainment novels, this story actually delves deeper into the world of acting and music. The main character also isn't someone graced with a system or someone who immediately shot up to stardom due to others' help, but through his own efforts.

This is a fun read but overstays its welcome. As with a few similar novels based on reincarnation/second chances, the main character takes full advantage of unreleased popular songs. suddenly become villains as the author needed them to be the foil to the main character. They don't really start off with a good backstory for why they become the villain sometimes. Despite all of that, I did enjoy all 2.5k chapters I've read and am disappointed it ended where it did.

So why did I say the story overstayed it's welcome? Isn't it contradictory to say it overstayed it's welcome and still be disappointed it ended? The story could be broken into two parts really.

A fun read where I discovered some great movies, and it even inspired me to go to a theatre show for the first time.

The best novel I've read from the world of entertainment, each chapter has you trapped in the plot and the complexity of the novel is at a higher level, the relationships with the other actor friends and how it impacts the life of the protagonist are super well written. The protagonist is my favorite character, the complexity of how they wrote it is incredible and you feel sympathy for him, a wonderful novel that you spend time flying reading it.
