Tr*sh? Very well, sooner or later, she will show these group of silly earthlings what it means to be too late for regrets!

Battle-qi? Magic? Her talent in both magic and martial arts will mortify every genius in existence. The position of the clan chief? The mythological Vermilion Bird? Want them? So sorry~ She already took them!

But who will tell her, that the cute boy who gets carsick easily was really the mythological Vermilion Bird? Then, what about the elder that’s residing in her body, just which deity does that mysterious soul belong to? Furthermore……

Why was it that other people’s companions were those kinds of domineering, and incomparably mighty type? Why was it the ones around her were either an evil merchant or a sly fox, a useless nerd or a playboy, the worst is this sick pretty boy! What happened to rule the world, and standing above all else? Please don’t joke with me!

To be honest, this story was a decent read. The ending seems a bit lackluster in my opinion (a bit rushed and infuriating knowing what happened at the end). The beginning of the story is a tad long in the development of the MC, but you can't help but fall in love with all the different characters' personalities as they develop. Especially her masters, some of her loving family members, and friends the MC makes along the way. I do have to say the main reason I continue to read... more>> this is because of all her friends and their domineering ways and Xiu. Haha. The official male lead doesn't get revealed (or at least get together officially/unofficially if you put it in the case of the ML situation) until chapter 1000+ and you don't get a hint of it until around 800+. Pretty late considering this novel is 2, 000+ chapters. The MC seems abit... OP.

It doesn't mean she doesn't struggle, but not as much as I expected. I feel like everything has been laid out for her a bit and she has a cheat that knows a lot (cough cough, you know who). I don't hate her personality and how she's only cruel to those who cause her or those she loves harm. I loveeee the banters between her and her group of friends. But I don't hate the novel, I have to say it's enjoyable and you get wrapped up in the mischevious ways of the MC and the phantom organization.

Do I recommend it? Sure! The journey was a lot of fun to read, the ending is lackluster.

The chapters aren't overly long, so it's an easy read. Just be prepared to be infuriated at the end.

I've provided my opinion/spoiler to the ending. Note: The ending has been read through google translate from a Chinese website and it may be wrongly interpreted by me while I was reading, depending on how the google translator decides to screw with me that day. I was just impatient with the updates to finish. TwT.

Spoiler

The ending, AKA, me ranting about the ending.

Ending: The reason why I say it's rushed and lackluster at the ending is that the fight between Satan and Xiu/Shen Yan Xiao ends in just one chapter. The fighting leading up to the ending took a while, but I expected more substance.

And how did it end in one chapter? Satan decides to detonate himself and kill everyone on the continent. The reason why he wants to destroy everything? Because the person he created, aka his sister, was killed. (His sister, also a demon, fell in love with the first God of War. But she died.) He is like "fk the world, I'm going to destroy it".

Xiu and SYX try to stop it by using their divine powers to block it. (SYX does end up awakening all eight races power, including the gods.) Her phantom gang joins in since they also acquired prior god's power. (Also including Shen Siyu (the light god), dragon god, Lan Feng Li, and all the contracted beast.) At the end of the explosion, everyone died. Yup... SYX was the only one who survived the explosion. She ends up killing herself because she couldn't live without Xiu and her friends. But wait, there's more ladies and gentlemen.

The Lord God comes back from god knows where after 10, 000 years and revives everyone who's there that died in the explosion. Let me tell you, he isn't the respectable god that everyone portrayed him to be. SYX and Xiu's depiction of him is true. He is pretty nonchalant about the event that happened. He explains that he had gained too much power and ascending to another world. He had left a beaded bracelet or something (idk what it was, I had to put the rest through google translate to read it) that was given to Light god contained a spiritual essence of the Lord God as a fail-safe if something terrible happens and he was gone, which had been given to SYX towards the beginning of the story that could have solved their crisis WAYYYY EARLIER. Light god just shrugs, saying that he had no clue and they don't go into it that much. (Infuriating)

He goes on to say that Satan shouldn't have been in that world in the first place and should have ascended with him, but because of his resentment to who knows at who, he stayed to torment all the races for "Fun". He then goes to promote SYX to be the new Lord God. She rejects it at first. But he tempts her by saying she can revive everyone and give them god power. This is where I kind of find it s*upid and kinda ruined the immersion. She ends up promoting all her friends and reviving everyone who died in the war. The other favor the Lord God gave her was to reviving someone else from her past life to another world. (Doesn't really get into who, but I'm guessing someone also from the organization she grew up in. Is it the MC from Blackbellied Doctor? I assume it's one of the book series the author wrote in the same universe. Again, from google translate, so the interpretation might be wrong and could have never happened on this part.) People who died in the Barren land now gets auto promoted to becoming a god. Kinda dumb IMO. Xiu and SYX get married and she gets preggo. Then the author ends it there.

We get to read NOTHING about the wedding or the child she births. It was cut short. The world is happy and dull now. I have to say good in theory, bad in execution. Author, please give me back my tears of the characters you killed off, but end up reviving them ALL back.

I hope that the author's other story doesn't end like this. I'm halfway already in the Black-bellied doctor one.

This is your typical cliché transmigration novel:

  • Famous 21st century thief transmigrates into a tr*sh body
  • Family trouble: scheming Uncles/Aunts, arrogant step siblings, etc.
  • tr*sh body actually has a secret background
  • Petty villains that never learn their lesson and always comes back for revenge
  • MC takes revenge by face slapping every one
  • MC from weak to strong with a powerful backing: OP ML, powerful and wealthy friends, mythological contract beasts, heaven defying luck, etc. (You name it, this MC probably got it)
I never understood one thing: in all the cultivation novels that I have read... more>> so far, WHY DOES THE MC NEVER KILL OFF THE FRECKIN VILLAINS BUT INSTEAD WAIT FOR THEM TO COME BACK TO CAUSE MORE TROUBLE?! This is one of the most frustrating things that I encounter in many cultivation novels, when the MC obviously have the power and strength to kill off pesky villains but instead let them go, like why?! These villains keep on being recycled over and over again to cause trouble for the MC and still never learn their lesson after being stripped of power, wealth, limbs, talent, etc. I got to applaud these villains for being dedicated and determined in chasing after the MC just to be humiliated every time, like are they all masochists or something??

Overall:

Eh, if you got the time to spare, don't mind cliché plots, and very very very slow romance, go for it. It's been 1400+ chapters and there is barely any romance going on. After 1400+ chapters, the MC is still 14-15. In the beginning of the novel, the MC was 13, it took her over 1000 chapters to age 2-3 years, so I'm kind of tired and done with this novel at this point. <<less

There are a couple of great reviews but I seriously cannot binge read it. I am struggling to finish the 1st 100 chapters. The story is okay! Characters are okay as well. The plot isn't that entertaining but still good. I don't know whose the culprit is it the author or the translator since even the chapters are short but it feels very draggy. Superfluous words in every chapter. Too much fillers and unnecessary words to fill in the word count of every chapter. When I reach pass 50 chaps... more>> I don't know if I have the problem or the translation is very hard to grasp. Maybe it's just me. By far it isn't as worst than the PAW novel. Hoping that the story will be good soon. <<less

Promising start, a weak young female died, and her body is taken by a powerful being. But up to chapter 15 I feel disheartened by this series >.<

The MC only observing while acting like a fool.
rating 3/5 star

Update (December 25th, 2016)
The pace is pick up greatly after the lady got the aforementioned mystical bird. That is the reason of increase in my rating to 5/5 star. We star see more cunningness and shamelessness of MC and her antics. More character is introduced... more>> too, increasing the charm of the story.

Definitely worth reading, but the pace of the translator is left nothing to be desired. I advise that you need to hide this series to another reading list other than your main, so you can binge read it. <<less

Honestly I don't like how people who've only read like 300 chapters out of the around 2760 chapters reviews. It's like you haven't even read half of the book and already posting reviews on how shitty or good about it. Of course some books start out slowly and then get better. Some other books start good and then get worse. It's really frustrating when people say they're dropping books at 300 chapters in. Like that's just the beginning of the whole book.

I also understand that some books are really... more>> bad or really good where posting a review feels like a must. But I've completed this book and honeslty it wasn't that bad at all. Most books that have cultivation will have overpowering main characters. It says in the description that she was a GODLY thief. Can you really not expect a powerful main character.

A lot of books where they have female main leads in action cultivation are tr*sh. But I found a couple that were pretty good and this is one of them. Of course there are some things that you might not enjoy, but then there might be some you do enjoy. If you like the description of the book then you should read the book. If you don't like the description then don't read the book. <<less

Personally, I like this novel, but the writing feels dragged and a lot of characters (some of which appear for a few chapters then proceed to disappear then reappear after a hundred chapters) are added so it’s really hard to remember which characters do what. The arcs are also really long so I would often forget the side characters name after one arc.

Generally, I don’t think the novel is bad, there is just some random things in it that piss me off

-the MC is for some reason surrounded by the... more>> most powerful people on earth

-some things are left unexplained for several arcs then suddenly pops up out of nowhere

-why the fu*k is every single villain connected to the female lead’s past

It’s just my personal opinion so sorry if this offended you. Also sorry for the bad English. <<less

Guhhhh..... I'm tempted to put like, a 4.5 out of 5 just for the descriptiveness of each chapter. Cause sometimes, it's a bit - nope, a lot - slow... But then it's really fun to read, and I can't wait for future chapters.... so I settled with a 5 out of 5 instead, haha.

This is a series that you want to wait for it to be completed before reading.... It gets slow at parts, with LOTS of description of people's reactions or backstory. But the payoff is worth it... Just...... more>> Sometimes I wish I could sleep for a year and then come back to it instead of tasting morsels of it each week...

All the translators are great, but this current translator is like, God, with how fast they upload new stuff. Anyway, it does deserve its 5 star rating, so there you go. Try it~ <<less

FIVE STARS

'The Good for Nothing Seventh Young Lady, ' is definitely one of my favorite Chinese novels. I love the novels with a strong female lead. I also like the fact the MC, Shen Yanxiao is a sneaky, sneaky thief.

However, this is so frustrating! I have read until ch 105, but there hasn't been a new chapter for over a month! The translations stop right in the middle of a gambling story arc where the MC is sure to do something sneaky and exciting. I hope someone continues to translate... more>> this soon, or at least posts the Raws. I tried to go to the original author's site, but it is entirely in Chinese. Even with Google Translate, figuring out the chapter subscription system in Chinese is a little too complicated. I am not sure if the payment is secure or even possible.

UPDATE:

Yay! A new chapter! <<less

The novel is over all really great. Sometimes it dragged a bit in the dwarf arc but it good.

I really love the MC and Xiu the ML. First there were no such romance but as the story progressed it bloomed perfectly. The friends of the MC were also great.

In the last part of the novel I truly cried reading the chapters the author wrote the story very beautifully. The ML looked like a ice berg but he is truly a romantic person and he really loved the MC not like... more>> other novels. So I have to give it 5. <<less

Reading all these reincarnation series makes me not want to ever reincarnate into an ancient chinese famiry. Because wholly shit, they are all a**holes. And I don't want to be poor in ancient china either because it'll be hell, but shit, they are all bastards who don't care.

Its even worse because before the reincarnation, she was mentally ret*rded, and they still wanted to kill her. A mentally ret*rded child.

As of Chapter 2. =D

This is really a good Xuanhuan novel. Our MC is surrounded by a devoted lover, a group of devoted friends, and an ever-supportive family. North Night does not disappoint. If you have some time in your hands, give this a try. If you're appalled by some of the low-rating reviews, don't worry, it gets better. Xuanhuan, Action, Adventure, & Martial Arts: 5 stars
I especially like how even in the 2000+ chapters, her previous life in the 24th century still has some relevance and how the author incorporated it to... more>> the behaviors/activities of different races. While there are some that were not described in detail through words, like her godly thieving skills, I still think that this novel has great storytelling of action and martial arts. Our MC worked really hard and she's gifted in all aspects. She goes on a huge adventure to find allies to save the different races.

Comedy: 3.5 stars
While this is not the type of story where you will really laugh out loud, I think the comedy is decent. There are definitely some comedic scenes thrown in there, courtesy of her friend, her beasts, and MC's quirky personality.

Romance & Josei: 4 stars
For romance, I've read something better, but it still makes me appreciate how the love of MC and ML was portrayed. I was very giddy during the part when MC was starting to be conscious of ML. She's very aware of small skin contact which I think is quite accurate when you think of a girl's first love. Meanwhile, Josei targets women aged 18 to 30, and as a member of that population, I am really intrigued and hooked by this story.

Special mention to Phantom, her group of friends. They have this pure and heartwarming friendship that brings you along for the ride. They were there for each other when they were still lacking in strength. <<less

Chapter 2375

Well kinda sad... MC find out an abandoned laboratory and seen dead body of experimented bodies,.. I kinda sad, because one of those was her roommate Lin Xuan. Well even thou he appeared a little, he was very supportive to MC, especially during the pharmacy competition in their school. I really feel sad for him

For me this novel was five star. Even some parts are confusing, especially then 4 countries vs 1 land war about rarely of beast. Still, it was fine in a long run of the novel. <<less

This is the first ever novel that I found in this site and read through MTL until the very end.

The story itself is great, the progress is also great, the translation (until now) is superb. The characters inside is also great.

At first, I thought of this story as the standard transmigration novel and so on. But as I was reading the translations, I unknowingly got hooked and as I was impatient about the progress of the story I challenged the MTL version....

Surprisingly, I like the story very much. Each characters,... more>> I want to get to know them more. Each villains, I want to smack them off from the face of the continent.

The only thing I am dissapointed in, is..... there is no after-marriage epilogue for the MC and ML *cries a bucket* how great would it be if there are epilogues with little bun (s) around to annoy our black-bellied MC and her friends and family.

Sigh, overall, this is one hell of a ride full of enjoyment (and also tears). Cheers for the author, and keep up the good work for the translator team! <<less

I cried and laughed so much reading this. There's one word to describe this story: BEAUTIFUL!!

The MC is amazing. She's OP but she's also the most hardworking person in the entire novel. And she's incredibly smart and funny. The ML is amazing too. The romance is bit slow (the get together after 1450 chapters I guess) but it's extremely enjoyable. You can feel them falling in love togheter. They both very doting and devoted anx the ML doesn't even bother to speak to anyone else. The side characters are... more>> so beautifully written! You'll fall in love with every single one of them. And the action is amazing! My advice: never underestimate anyone. All the characters are hidden tigers. One of them really shocked the sh** out of me! I was like: whaaaat!?!. Some arcs are sadder then others. I found myself sobbing at 4 am after reading some chapters.

Spoiler

there's this moment when she succesfully created her own territory with demons and humans living together in peace. The four countries tried to take her down so they had a war. And there was this pair of twin demons who followed her from the start. They were outnumbered and the youngest brother had beasts gnawing at his flesh while trying to protect the dying older one. And while he was dying he remembered how they first came to this land thousand of years ago and joked about who should be the boss and finally decided on the older. While he was dying his last thoughts were: brother, how about in the next life you be the youngest.

This story is really worth the read. I'm actually very very very grateful to the author that they didn't throw away the side characters. Though, the only problem I have is with the romance. It seems really forced and it felt like it just popped out of nowhere. It would've been better if there's already hints of it from the beginning and the male lead already introduced. Also, if I had the money, I would really gladly donate to the translators. Last point is, this is probably the best xuanhuan/wuxia... more>> novel with a female lead I could find. If someone wants a more serious romance then I recommend Enchantress Among Alchemist though I still think this story is better. <<less

This is one of the best novels I have ever read.

There's no harem, s*upid s*x, misunderstandings, r*pe stuff, story recycling, and boring stuff.

MC has five good friends that are more than side characters and are not thrown away after a few chapters. They exist throughout the entire storyline. MC's teachers are funny characters and I love them; and I'm sure you'll too. Each of them have their own stories and problems. And their stories aren't fillers like other novels because they're interconnected. The author doesn't reveal all of the plot/purpose... more>> of the story at the same time; he reveals story info part by part and lets you make guesses. You don't feel like a God looking over the novel world, you feel the mystery just like the MC does. Well even MC's identity and race is a mystery at first.

MC's and her friends' spirit beasts are fun, they're interesting characters themselves. Especially you'll love MC's own spirit beast.

MC befriends demons and rules them. Builds cities and stuff. These are very unique and I didn't read these elements in other novels.

The dialogues of this novel are well written and has lots of hilarious stuff. Romance in this novel is very slow but not unreasonable.

There are other races like Gods, demons, elfs, dwarfs, dragons etc and lores which enrich the story to a great extent. In the second part of the novel the MC travels to the elf continent because she's apparently an elf (well hybrid), and it's like an entire different story there because she has to cultivate in the elf way from the start (of course her human cultivation is still strong) ; but this arc is very enjoyable and you're not going to be disappointed. It's not a filler either, it plays important role in the story. The chapters are short but the translation is fast. And the quality of translation is excellent.
Side-villains are OK, although a little annoying. They just talk too much. I'm like just f*ck off, shut yo mouth, and die b*tch. There are some main villains that are unlike recycling-side-villains but they're yet to be revealed.

Just read it man. <<less

I have high hope and expectation at first seeing the rating, I thought that at least it would be a decent way to waste time even if it is not exceptionally good, unfortunately I still get disappointed

Here is why

so, it starts with a common cliche, nothing wrong with that, but nothing special, the MC get reincarnated from the modern world (I presume, since it was not stated clearly, and it was said that she is a godly thief with all kind of ability that should not be possible in our... more>> reality) into a body of a 14 years old girl, basically a useless good for nothing body that almost died thanks to her cousin bullying her because the original owner of the body is literally an idiot

Basic cliche background, nothing wrong with that, in fact, I find that to be quite interesting with a lot of potentials to develop but back to the reason why I'm disappointed in this novel

in chapter 3, there is a voice coming from inside the MC, claiming to be the Devil, he named himself as Xiu, when the MC asked for more information about Xiu, he just brushed it off and I have no idea why the MC is not suspicious nor curious about this unknown entity inside her body, ok maybe she is has given up and move on because she can't do anything about it? But what happens next truly define this novel to me, I will copy and paste a little bit of chapter 4 and then I will comment on it

Spoiler

After being silent for a moment, Xiu speaked, “Killing you is equivalent to killing me myself.”

“As of now, I am attaching myself and existing within your body. In case that you are dead, my soul will also subsequently fly away and scatter.”

This information is not bad! Shen Yanxiao was beaming as she continued to acquire information fraudulently.

‘So, after you have obtain your freedom, will it mean that you can be relieved in eliminating me?”

“I will never kill you.”

“Oh? Why?” Shen Yanxiao opened her mouth as she smiled happily while inquiring. However, there was nevertheless a complete differencebetween the naive smiles of hers and the sharpness in her eyes.

“During the time when I choose to stay in your body, we have already agreed and signed a soul agreement where I will lose ninety percent of my soul if I was to kill you.” Xiu’s voice was like the untranquil waves.

To suffer a damage of ninety percent! Shen Yanxiao seriously wanted to clap her hands. Although it was still unclear on why Xiu was able to attach and exist within her body, she could now be certain that Xiu absolutely would not make any move regardless of any situation because everything was like he had said. For killing her was equivalent to himself committing su*cide!

[collapse]

So, as you can see, the MC who is a reincarnation of a self-proclaimed "Godly Thief" is basically a ret*rd
Without any evidence nor a concrete proof, heck, not even a convincing reasoning, she just believes everything the Devil said, the Devil, the one that is usually portrayed as a cunning, sly, back-stabber, liar, and the personification of evil itself that will do anything to achieve its goal, heck, why did the Devil even tell her that he is the Devil, why not act as if he is a godly spirit or something!?

This is dumb, even if you have no f*cking choice at least be a little suspicious! I have no problem with the situation itself, what infruating me is how the MC act and behave to the situation, I really hate it when the author often *tell* how awesome the MC or whatever character but not *show*, but even worse is when the MC actually act the opposite of what he/she is portrayed by the author

and of course, it happens again a few more times later, I don't know how much the novel will change for the better or worse later on but so far it is deeply flawed and very unimmersive, I just can't take this novel seriously, I do find it to be entertaining at times, especially if you don't have much expectation and just want to waste time but I just can't ignore the flaw unfortunately, especially since the author seems to be unaware of his flaw and take this novel too seriously, I usually don't have any problem reading s*upid and ridiculous novel such as The Strongest System etc, because the author of that novel is aware of what he is doing and what kind of novel he is writing without being a hypocrite and shy about it, instead embrace it and just go crazy

btw the translation quality is alright, there's typo and minor grammar flaw here and there but nothing serious, which is a plus I guess

conclusion, if you could ignore the flawed logic that works in this universe then you might have some fun but just don't expect too much

Anything new? Barely.

... more>> The only thing that "Godly thief" has proven to be, up to this point, is plot-armor that will let her bypass all security and obtain items and/or information that is unavailable to everybody, EXCEPT her.

The downtrodden mentally disabled child that the "Goofy thief" transmigrates into just so happens to "regain her intelligence" before the seal is broken. Just because a foreign soul took control of the body! Let's ignore all of the other pitiful reincarnation novels' that just happens to be very similar... If the 'ret*rdation' was actually caused by a seal or defect in the brain, simply replacing the soul would NOT help, logically speaking.

Next; the excessive, poor, satire and annoying way that the passages and events in this absolutely heinous story are described. One chapter in the usually well-written novel could cover what 50 of these, do. Unnecessary events explained over and over by the author and horribly translated by the group who does this novel. Why do I have to read about how something won't happen one minute, but the next minute it happens?! At least, if I am going to read about something that is being bounced back-and-forth like a tennis ball, make it a pleasant read. PLEASE.

I'm not ridiculing the translation team that does work on this novel, nor the people that read and/or donate to support them. But, please, use the wonderful Google-senpai. It could teach you various works of art and even provides a dictionary, spell-check and tutorials on how to form a correct paragraph.

This is merely my opinion. Don't get incensed over my passage above.

Oh, and one more thing. What would happen if you switched the gender of the main and supporting characters'?

-Male surrounded by beauties that'd make people jealous.

-Portrayed as a cold, insensitive person that will do anything that suits their mood best.

-An absolute nitwit when it comes to making a somewhat rational decision...

I think I've stated my point. The read is worth around 1.5 to 2 stars if you have nothing better to do and would be on the same level as all of the other novels out there that are the same with the protagonist being a male. I gave it one to help offset the high amount of 5 stars that it was getting. <<less
