Note: I don't mind 'streaming' concept for novels, but the amount this novel has..... is just TOO much.

E.g.
"Look at this everyone..... "
- Oh my god..... praise 1
-Is this... rephrase 1
-No way..... praise 2
-Wait..... rephrase 2
A full paragraph that explains everything above as a whole.

This format..... on EVERY CHAPTER (?!??!?!)..... And sometimes they come back to back (?!!)..... Yea-, no.

The idea of this novel is similar to Supremacy Games..... just the games on this novel are too..... I guess, Meh... is the best word to put it (?) (I don't mind novels with similar concepts, if it's good, or even just okay. But this one..... ???)

The writing quality is WAY beneath 100th regression or that-barbarian-one (If I'm using K-novel as a strandard) . It truly failed to hook me with the gimmick each games could've had.

The amount of ch. seems a lot, but it's really a short story. Most of the arc are skippable or at least easy to skim through, just look for the [notification] or even just the beginning lines. (Is this a bad or good thing? In this novel? This is a good thing...)

I've read many k-novels..... I really do..... but this takes the crown... for being the absolute worst, I would NOT read the novel, I'd much rather wait for the manhwa, then wait again for the recap, before listening to it in 3.5x..... and that's how I'd follow this story. Madness.....

Spoiler

The 'Tutorial' ends at ch. 153..... so at least check out 154 before evaluating the story.

It's been a while since I read Korean novel, and the signature cancerous part of their story is still active here. Nationalism, small pp complex, hating Japanese, my b*tching USA and pretty much everything I guess.

National this National that, the fictional comments as if constantly patting your own back, whatnot rich people simping. Did author forget that people in this world have brain? You're basically asking people to hate the story.

In short, it's f*cking annoying, who the f*ck are you fighting? The air? Imagine those extra calories spent on improving... more>> the story instead of that. <<less

Its a 3.5-4 rating novel for me. The novel is good, there is no romance till now, and other details are already given by others.

The main point for reduction is the face slapping in the comments. The live comments in the novel are a big part of it (everyone broadcasts their gameplay for donations and fame). So, MC already proves that he is really powerful and sh*t again and again, but people always seem to believe that he can't win against a new obstacle.

MC wins against a boss monster which... more>> diamond rank players need a whole team to fight, but when he fights the weakest diamond rank team, people think he can't fight them.

There are also some parts which can get a bit annoying, but not much.

This gets repetitive, but still a fun read to pass time. <<less

It's ok, a bit more than passing time.

While I do not mind nationalism & patriotic crap.. it gets really annoying when writers keep shoving it on readers faces... Seriously is this like a thing in Asian countries (Korean & Chinese). They just suck at this nationalistic thingy. This isn't d 80's, these guys should learn from Japan & U.S how to show 'my country is best' without making it annoying for us readers

First of all, I quite like what I've read so far. Translation quality is generally high and consistent, and the story is unique enough to be interesting without skipping out on a good power fantasy.

There are quite a lot of strange world-building choices, though. Things that I'm sure will never be mentioned or will just be wandwaved away because "that's just the way it is", but should be mentioned.

1. This is by definition a nationalistic story. It cannot be read without seeing Asians being horribly racists against other Asians. The... more>> author clearly hates Japan and China; they are the bad guys bar none, and do pointlessly evil things in broad daylight with no repercussions until the protagonist shows them the might of South Korea. Sanctions for obviously brainwashing international sports talents to boost your own positioning in the world? Totally fine with literally everyone except South Korea (even after indisputable evidense is plastered over the entire world), and they don't actually do anything about it until the MC decides to act entirely on his own.

2. Governments exist. Even very bad governments exist. This is now a world that has entirely free access to 100% uncensored information and 100% guaranteed access to the ability to because super strong (for well over a decade!), yet dictators still exist in their original form. China still maintains perfect control over the opinions of their citizens. In fact, other than North Korea being destroyed by dungeons, the international politics of the world is left entirely unchanged. There is a known threat to all of mankind, yet the governments of the world are petty squabbling about random sh*t. The tutorial will end in a few months, yet everyone thinks things will stay the exact same and refuses to acknowledge that humanity can no longer be segregated by arbitrary country boarders. This is laughably unrealistic. I'm not saying everything would be united under a world government or anything, but there would be a large swath of the world with inbattled dictators and overthrown regimes.

3. I'm sure this is a "story element", but humanity has apparently never been taught anything in the tutorial. We learn that humans know literally nothing in the realm of 'common sense'. They don't know how to use basic items, how to close dungeons, or how the system of the tutorial even works. I'm sure it's because the 'system' has been altered to make sure they lose or whatever, but it's also pretty ludicrous. Most of these stories are centered around an impartial and infallible 'system', but once your system can't be trusted, a lot of the foundation of the story just becomes useless mush (and then we fall into the "I've transcended the limits of the system" bullsh*t that ruins so many stories). I know it's a twist or whatever, but if you want an unreliable narrater, you should make it clear that the narrator is unreliable; don't pretend that everything is fine until you need it to be not fine to advance your story. <<less

Recommended.

This novel is quite addicting and very interesting.

MC is getting OP, but at the same time his OPness is needed for the future.
Spoiler

As they are still in tutorial period, most of his enemies dies as soon as he moved which makes him cooler as he (or rather the author) executes it perfectly.

Hopefully his niece can help him in the future.

I like the novel so far and hopefully no romance/partner can ruin it.

Looking forward for more chapters translated.

Overhyped its your average op MC the thing that annoys me is the nationalism in this novel MC team is terrible but he won't change because US bullied him in the past also they have this s*upid romance non romance thing that goes on where he makes a promise to date someone but then dates someone else turn your brain off for this story even then it will make you annoyed this doesn't deserve 5 stars 4 maximum

I love this series so much, this series goes hard on all fronts, some elements may be repetitive but I personally love it, there's still suspense in every match Jihan has in the later chapters vs the earlier ones so if you think he's always gonna win, you thought wrong. Y'all may also think it's a cliche OP main protagonist but there's a reason the Author has him overpowered, it's because there's stuff in the future that will be what challenges him. He was also defeated by the Sword King... more>> too, so it's not like he's invincible. Anyways, the characters, both protags and antags are legit, solid all over if not great. Plot is easy to follow but not dumbed down, there's still a little bit of complexity. The dialogue and interactions are great as well. The lore is interesting as well and that as well as the story have been consistent, if there's any plot holes, it's very minimal. There's not much filler content if at all that I remember. Overall solid novel. I'm in love, tell the Author to keep it up, and that's about it folks. ON GDDDDDDDD <<less

okay so I started reading this because the manga looked fun.
the concept itself is nothing original but the approach seems pretty good and I've been enjoying it. I do have some problems with couple of things like the fact that they skipped over some characters without giving them time to grow but maybe it's too early to judge. oh and the constellations are kinda interesting for the first time.
so...t it seems pretty good ngl.

Really intertaining to read. Cool setting and universe, interesting plot, nice pace. Overall, MC is really op, but plot gives enemies for future which anyway seem 1000x stronger and you cant imagine how he will win them later. Sometimes I have a feeling that author feels chapter with big amount of reductant paragraphs (
Spoiler

There is a lot of 'online' comment of mc's subscribers on youtube

But anyway, it's fun and you don't feel that plot aren't pushed in any chapter.

whaaaaa? Two reviews in one day?!

Anyway let’s get straight alway with this review!

this is a good read, it’s solid actually. I think this the type of novel to read when u bored on the bus right after practice and feel like reading something real quick in order to not fall asleep. It’s not complicated and honestly sticks to the norm set by these type of novels.

It doesn’t do anything extremely great this might be one of its faults for me personally as the writing is ok n so is the... more>> rest of the other elements that make up the story which might lead to me forgetting this ever existed in a few days from now even tho I binged it 4 days ago.

The setting is your average regression/system novel with your regressed Joe Shmoe with a tint of edge accompanied by a cast of characters that be explaining how amazing he is. Nothing too bad here, the character dynamics are pretty good with the female cast being heavy on this one which is honestly great as this complements the Joe shmoe that’s the MC.

Let’s talk about the hot topic now NATIONALISM! My point of view is simple and it is that it’s a Korean novel what did you expect when reading this? Like gangky (New York know what’s up) no sh*t it’s gonna have hella nationalism most of these regression novels do. Honestly its ight bc if you don’t find that your cup of tea don’t read it, personally I don’t mind. It’s whatever as long as the story ain’t too heavy on but I know this is could lead to very big problems later on such ahhmmm racism, which is no bueno para decirte la verda. I don’t tolerate that n sometimes it do be goin a little too far but I can look past that.

Ok, time to recap this in a smaller less necessary explanation, read it if you don’t mind a VERY AVERAGE regression novels a moderate levels of nationalism.

see ya on the next review! <<less

This author blends common tropes together and writes them well enough to show why tropes are tropes. Regression, face slapping, OpMC, progressively stronger enemies, system, etc. All these tropes, yet the story still doesn't feel stale to read (I wouldn't say fresh though). I know why I'm reading this, for the rush of growing stronger, overcoming adversity, and showing off the strength gained, the payoff. However, what really makes this work together is that the author actually made a (relatively) unique world, pleasing main characters, an intriguing mystery and threatening... more>> adversities along with relatively weak opponents to show off with.

Spoiler

One thing I dislike though, there are a bit too many girls around him, the summon, the gambler, gambler's aide, the niece, the foreigner, etc. Making a not-harem since there is no real romantic elements in the novel, so why are most of them female. Most, if not all of the males (not the MC) seems to be not very helpful/powerful allies, neutral, or powerful enemies to the MC.

[collapse]

Although, a bit of caution needs to be stated here. These types of novels can get stale, especially when binging and usually into the later parts. If the worldbuilding gets ignored, allies become cheerleaders, or progress toward the main plot gets stalled for too long (mainly by faceslapping too much), the story would suffer. Hope this doesn't happen as this story is good at getting my dopamine rushing. <<less

Not bad to scratch your itch for a regression power-fantasy novel. I found it surprisingly addictive, despite the unimaginative premise. The novel took some inspiration from League of Legends (especially in one of the arcs), though not much, so you may find it slightly more entertaining if you played that game.

This is a story about an over powered protagonist, that somehow still does tension and threat right, the cast of supporting characters, are the key in this dynamic, so no side character feels like a waste of attention.

Our protagonist feels vivid outside of the tiny romantic tidbits that feel like they could be used more elegantly in an even more efficient way in the story. Outside of that this is a story with almost no fat, I would say, 99% lean beef here, nothing is really wasted in this work.... more>> The romantic elements while not perfect still help boost the mood and add a charming lightness when elements feel a little gloomy.

This story is excellent in many regards. I would say we'll see this hit mainstream in U.S. Audiences soon if they handle it responsibly I see it as likely to become a great commercial success if my taste is at all representative of what is quality.

The only thing that would bring this down, is market fatigue for the general premise.

This was a real page burner for me personally, I finished it all in a day up to ch 132. I regard that as a high complement due to my familiarity with the genre, and my history as a reader. Its not often I choose to lose sleep to read these days, in my thirties.

The tightness of the story and the efficiency of the design of the novel reminded me pleasantly of Jim Butcher's work. <<less

It's a good regression novel with a well made premise but isn't incredibly original, though I will say even if there isn't much new it does every thing well which I think is much more important. It does fall a bit into the cliché of "Oh, the MC is so great look at him!" but the little stream chat comments are funny at times and feel fairly realistic. Thankfully there isn't an army of women throwing themselves at the MC but all the female characters in it are actually well... more>> written. Over all its a very well done regression novel so if you like them then you'll like this. <<less

I just read the manga of this story but It's good. It makes me wants to read the novel.

I'm curious 🤔 about the MC brother in law. He abandoned his daughter for the new lover because that what she request to him. But it later known that he was seduce by an SSS class skill holder in japan just to get the top 1 stronger holder of korea. It also said that is 1 of the reason why they fail before he regress / back in time.

Gonna read more to... more>> find out. <<less

Handles the tropes it uses real well. If you're binging the story, the pacing is just right and the filler comments add to instead of detracting from the story. I don't know how I will feel now that I caught up and have to read at the current release rate, but we will see. Honestly, I am barely keeping myself from feeding what remains into mtl just so I can sprint past the point these TLs are at which is an urge I haven't had in a few years.
