The Girls Who Traumatized Me Keep Glancing at Me, but Alas, It’s Too Late (WN)

Description

Links are NOT allowed. Format your description nicely so people can easily read them. Please use proper spacing and paragraphs.

I’m Yukito Kokonoe, and I’m the one who had the worst luck with women. My mother abandoned me, my sister hated me, and my childhood friend, who I thought she had feelings for me, rejected me before I could tell her, and then lied to me when I was heartbroken. As a result, I found myself completely emotionally broken, and it was too late to do anything about it. But that was strange. For some reason, I feel like the women who traumatized me are glancing at me. Yeah, I must be imagining it!

This is a love comedy about a boy who has been hurt too much and too late, and the women who have hurt him, in a misunderstanding that starts too late and never starts at all. “Love? What’s that, can I eat it?”

This is what having dementia probably feels like. You lose your grasp on reality and everyone around you is getting insane. In a way it reminds me of Saya no Uta, but just more whiny and pathetic. The MC is a mentally demented unintentional super-seducer. And everyone he interacts with is just as bad.

It's really hard to read.

after reading till ch36 I can say the way author has portrayed the MC is pretty interesting. This MC is broken to the core, he is mentally ill after an incident with his sister. She is not evil or anything, she was just a kid who was highly stressed because of how there mother always went to work and let her daughter always take care of her brother which was just taxing slowly but surely on her and in a moment where she hit her peak and just pushed her... more>> brother and his head was bleeding which partially resulted in his mental issues which is being shown though out the novel. Author way of showing from different POV really helps in convey the story from dif perspective.

MC is as I said previously is mentally ill and has lost a lot of his key emotions which a human has (imo it doesnt really make him an alien as how author is trying to show but he feels very normal for what he has gone through, like no kidding if even half the bad sh*t which happens to MC happen to someone else they be long gone through su*cide) MC has really HIGH mental strength which helps him though out the novel till he lost it. He is borderline sociopath and he makes a wall which impenetrable, he does not want to nor he can trust anyone for a while (its harem so ofc u can figure out why I said "while"). A lot of bad sh*t which happens to him is only due to women, his luck is really so bad with 99% of the women he interacts with. The vibe he gives out makes him an easy target for all the bad sh*t u can accuse him off, no one will try to even think rationally if he actually did it or not (later it changes but his luck is still really bad). MC has the omnipotent poker face which also acts like a shield for him so ppl dont come close to him as he see himself unneeded and everyone hates him. (Its untrue as like most ppl who have talked to him actually do care about him but its just misunderstanding that happens with him along with his luck everything just goes to sh*t and both MC and the girls really do suffer or atleast thats what author wants readers to think). His monologs are really the key part as to see how MC sees the world around him and how he sees himself in this world. Keep this is mind that he always has his poker face even if he replies as waah or whatever reaction he does, its always monotonous. MC later does figure out as to why his mental strength is so high and figure out it was his aunt who helped him with that as she is a psychiatric who hypnotize MC to not give up his life no matter how much bad sh*t happens but that also results in him loosing his empathy. He asked his aunt to remove that so he can even if its a little he could get some of his emotion back which he cant even remember he had. This is the part where I really had problem with the way author handled it, MC just had such a personality shift that it actually didnt suite the tone of the novel and slowly lost my interest. Btw before this his sister also kissed him to show that she really does love him a lot and is pretty much shown that she loves him a lot more then as a brother and for a good reason she doesnt want anyone to get in contact with her brother as he was always hurt by others. (If u are thinking its double standards for her as she also have hurt him but she also herself understand what she did is wrong when she was a kid and always apologize to him, MC as he simply cant comprehend emotions a lot and is mentally damaged he always have a poker face and just doesnt show any emotions at all. The sister sees him as a hollow shell and always blame herself that its her fault that he ended up like how he is now)

his monologs when he is talking with females in the story is very interesting. MC always try to think rationally takes things in face value, you may think MC is bad for not understanding what is happening in reality but you cant blame him as it doesnt really affect him in his own opinion, he doesnt know the world trust means from the start of the novel and he always talks what he thinks without any issue. In his opinion his mother wants him to disappear, same with his sister. He thinks his childhood friend only was with him coz she was nice and didnt really care for MC (MC did loved her back when they were kids) MC wanted to confess to her but then she said that she accepted a senpai confession (she did that to make him jealous as childhood friend thought that he didnt appreciate being with her) MC as he was broken and is breaking even more didnt really show his emotions and just congrats her and said that as she has a bf so MC will stop being close to her so to not get in there way and he stopped being friends with her pretty much. He also got rid of all the things which reminded him of his childhood friend just so he can move on (imo he really did moved on). There was also one basket ball girl manager who confessed to MC but MC overheard convo of her and 2 of her friends about how she just feel sympathy for MC so she went with it, so MC just told her that there is no need for her to go through with it said no to her. (I kinda feel bad for her as she just didnt wanted to admit before her friends that she was in love with him and due to that she just blown her chance with him). There is also student president but she is just kinda ret*rded who just falsely accused him of mol*sting and also apologize to him soon as well as she was wrong but in typical novel style negatives opinion spreads faster in school so pretty much social execution for any normal student but out MC dont feed sh*t so he just poker face out of it. She also kneel infront of it was either his classroom or council room and brought a cond*m and said to take her v**ginity, she was also fine with him f*cking her raw, MC also got the f*ck boy title coz of this act from the president. There is also another girl who nearly got him suspended with the help of her dad as he is a politician, it was quickly fixed as MC neighbor milf waifu is OPOP and got every politician under her thumb.

MC till now has like 13 harem member and all of them kind off love him but MC doesnt really have that feeling so its whatever. <<less

Well the Web Nobel is starting strong. He is also so far darker than the LN. Unfortunately, he later becomes more of a typical harem school, the bad boy and not forgiving and not interested in anything, I liked it very much and that's why the story with the glass boy was great too. I hope it will be more dramatic again. Wanted to ask if you know of any other similar stories with these themes besides the list you can see here. A recommendation would be great, I'd be... more>> happy about it <<less

I would not recommend it to everyone. It's a slightly disturbing story and emotions portrayed in the novel can affect negatively.

The story tries to portray how the life of MC becomes disastrous to the point where it breaks him step by step to the state where he feels nothing nor does he want to. Every moment where MC should have been happy he despairs. It feels like he is the unluckiest person in the world.

The premise of the story is that the people who hurt the MC or wronged him... more>> in the past are trying to correct it in any possible way.

The author perfectly balances the past and present events with different POVs to explain the story in a slightly intrigued way. The writing of the author is top-class and interactions between characters are awe-inspiring and feel like two people are talking in front of you. Another plus point of the novel would be comedically undone in the novel. The way MC speaks and behaves is slightly peculiar and due to it the interest in the future events of the novel increases.

Side characters also have their set personalities which help to imagine their character growth and how through their past grievances and regret they try to face MC.

Alas, the way some characters tried to find retribution for MC was disastrous and was filled with s*upidity. Their actions only worsen the previous situation of MC and it feels forced and unrestrained. Sometimes I wondered did they did that.

Spoiler

To give an example, the mother of the MC tries to sleep with him for neglecting him in past. As this many things that happen are unreasonable and unjustifiable.

[collapse]

Sometimes the novel feels just wish fulfillment with mc's harem trying to curry his favor through unreasonable actions. As the story progresses the plot becomes unreasonable and unrestrained. Sure, the novel is a word of fiction but still, the author pushes some supernatural power such as hypnosis and ruins the story.

The story is enjoyable for passing time. There is not much depth in the plot just some humor of the MC and some humourous character interactions. Still, I enjoyed the story alas, the author got on break or left, don't know. <<less

Unnatural dialogues, forced developments, overuse of words that can be put inside an "Edge Dictionary". Almost every chapter in the first "arc" of the novel has a couple of words such as "break", "blank", "empty" and their synonyms sprinkled throughout.

... And then 3 chapters into the 2nd "arc" he asked a girl who framed him of s*xual assault to be his friend.

Read Oregairu for a better depiction of someone who lost hope in society and his recovery.

Not too far into the novel yet but I need to talk about some glaring issues.

The MC is supposed to be traumatized and broken or w/e, but the way he talks comes off moreso as some chuunibyou character trying to be dark and cool. It's comical.

His thought process is something that could only possibly come from the mind of the otaku author who probably has never had any experiences with deep meaningful thoughts or interactions with women. Strictly speaking, the MC comes off as someone with severe autism with the... more>> way he interacts and misunderstands to such a severe degree.

I can still somewhat maintain my suspension of disbelief to enjoy the interesting parts of the story, but the author is giving me a really hard time feeling any sort of sympathy for such an unbelievable main character. <<less

This novel is pretty bad tbh. I was intrigued at first and looking forward to how things were resolved, but the interactions between characters just feels so unnatural. The instances of him being wronged by quite literally almost every woman he's come across just feels so unrealistic. Then the way the past wrongdoings were resolved felt so unsatisfactory and just downright weird.

Spoiler

His childhood friend literally strips herself naked to apologize to the MC. His sister kisses him (on the lips) and as do his mother and aunt so there's hints of in*est as well. There's an instance of the student council president wrongly accusing him and she offers her body to him. Just a whole load of nonsense.

I honestly can't tell whether the MC legitimately received a mental impairment when he cracked his head against the sidewalk as a kid, or if the author's just treating the MC's depression really, really lightheartedly. The tone of the novel is all over the place, many of the events don't follow from each other, and I just can't really pin down the MC's personality.

This novel also suffers from a horrible lack of communication. I can't even count the number of conversations that went "but I really -" or "but that's... more>> -" or "your mind would be so boggled if I told you this, really your whole world view would change, but -" before the character would get interrupted. If that happened one or two times, sure, that happens in real life too, but the author seems to have decided that all the characters will literally never be able to speak the honest truth to the MC when they want to. If that happens, normally someone would, you know, continue the conversation, or take the MC off to the side. But noooo, not in this novel - the characters will faint, collapse, run out of the room, or stand in mute silence because the author decided that's enough. If you want a novel with a realistic picture of communication, I recommend "Trust Cannot be Restored" by the same translator.

Spoiler

First of all, half the "traumas" this guy faces aren't particularly destructive events like all the characters in the novel seem to think. Sure, getting your confession broken sucks, but that generally doesn't send people off the deep end into suicidal thoughts or ignoring contact from all your friends (it can, for sure, but the MC didn't seem particularly mentally unstable to that point nor so deeply yandere for a crush in elementary school). Getting falsely accused for being a mol*ster sucks, but it was resolved literally 10 seconds later and the accuser apologized sincerely. That doesn't merit the accuser running all over the school or handing the MC a box of cond*ms and offering him her v-card because she's worried he'll commit su*cide from the depression of that 10-second tension. The MC's mother was busy with work as a single mother raising two kids, so she wasn't able to pay proper attention to him growing up. Yes, that sucks, but he had a reliable sister and it's hard to support two kids on a single person's salary. Does that mean the MC should ignore his mother at home or pretend his mother doesn't exist when she comes to the bring-your-parents-to-school day, or that his mother should try to sleep with him at night or enter the bath with him? IMHO, no?

Sure, some of the events do suck. The guy's middle school friend seems to have ruined his middle school basketball career because she wanted him to focus on her, not the club. The guy's sister pushed him off the jungle gym when they were in elementary school, because she was jealous. That cracked the kid's head open, and potentially gave him the mental disability I mentioned at the beginning? Otherwise, I can't really see how this guy flickers through emotions so quickly, sometimes suicidal, sometimes shouting at the top of his lungs about conspiracy theories, sometimes calling classmates "Elizabeth" without reason, sometimes ignoring them outright. However, the timeline doesn't really line up then, because the MC is also supposed to lose his emotional hinge at the end of elementary school when his first crush rejects him. I'm not trying to treat mental disability lightly, and my apologies if it came across as such - this is the best explanation I can figure out and I'm not sure if even the author really thought it through.

I wasn't expecting to like this one, but I couldn't stop flicking through the chapters after I started.

The only 'funny' character is the protagonist. He often acts in absurd ways and has strange internal monologues. For this kind of story where the protagonist is described as broken or damaged, I usually expect the very played out edgy quiet loner stereotype. This character is definitely not that, he wants to be but isn't. He loudly broadcasts his intentions and strange thoughts without hesitation. I think it's fun.

Pretty much all the other... more>> characters are tragic. They owe a debt of guilt to the main character, they are responsible for forging his abnormal mindset, and they show strong urges to rebuild what was lost (often failing). Part of the comedy for me was seeing the story quickly switch between a character describing their immense regret and grief followed immediately by re-entering the protagonists head and reading his absurd monologues. Fun tonal whiplash.

Spoiler

I'm not sure how all these hard feelings are going to be resolved by the end, but I was surprised to see the protagonist taking some steps towards improvement himself after an honest confrontation with one of the girls. He seems to have internally acknowledged that his wild misconceptions might be him running away from a more complicated reality. I totally wasn't expecting his weirdness to get any kind of justification beyond the vague idea that he's 'closed himself off'. It was a pleasant surprise and I'm looking forward to what becomes of him in the future.

[collapse]

Edit: What's written before this point was a judgement on the story up to chapter 22. It was quite strong, but I must admit feeling disappointed by more recent chapters, I can't talk about it without going into spoilers so be warned:

Spoiler

So, the main character decides to admit himself to a hospital. I think that's a brave step, very admirable of him to seek help without fear like that - I've got no issues there, if anything I was excited to see him finally set himself on the path of recovery. Unfortunately, the story takes a very unsatisfying turn. It is discovered that his aunt had subjected him to a psychological 'spell' that prohibits him from thinking normally, so he wouldn't kill himself. He visits his aunt and breaks the 'spell', and is now slowly recovering his emotions.

What an absolutely disappointing series of events and a very weak start to his recovery, what should be the most interesting part of the story. His apathy being a result of someone else's tampering rather than an honest response to what the girls have subjected him with cheapens it a lot for me.

What's more, interactions with the girls takes a turn for the worse after this. Their affection-aggression is inexplicably turned up to the max and every girl in his life incredibly blatantly wants what's in his pants (even his family). There was little to prompt this sudden switch besides internal change from the main character, which should have no bearing on the outside world, right? Even girls who have had exchanges with the main character in the single digits are suddenly openly requesting s*x. I don't have a problem with this kind of story, but the shift here has been far to abrupt and utterly unearned. I'm still curious to see where this goes, but it has suffered from a bit of thoughtlessness, in my opinion.

This story is so bad that I feel like my iq is lower just by reading it. The main character is a bundle of randomness and idiocy, and the other characters make no sense whatsoever. Neither with their actions, nor with what they say and think. The only reason for me giving it 2 stars is because the translator did a good job.

If you are looking for a sad story about a protagonist whom was betrayed but never really want to reconnect and live an independent life then this story comes close. The protagonist due to his past trauma developed a strong kind of apathy that makes him mentally strong against the movements of the girls around him. This protagonist also shows harsh decisiveness especially when a person betrays his trust then he cuts them off completely which is satisfying. People want to reconnect with him but as the title says, its too late for them and as such most of the story revolves around their failed attempts at reconnecting with the protagonist while he creates new connections with other people. The story may contain depressing incidents but are resolved by the very people that caused him trauma which also have an unfortunate effect of reinforcing said trauma.

This is an interesting take on the harem genre as many of the featured girls that connects to the main character through unfortunate events that gives them a very bad impression from him but they pursue him nevertheless. The main character is popular but he doesn't understand and doesn't want to.

If anyone is curious about the extent of his trauma:
Spoiler

During his childhood, he was rejected by his sister and was lost to them for several days.
It destroyed his trust for family

During the time he is missing, he is able to go to his Aunt's home and she is able to hypnotize him out of su*cide
This created his mental strength at the cost of empathy

During his elementary days, he is falsely accused of a crime but nobody beleived him
This destroyed his trust of his peers (classmates) and authority figures (teachers)

During his middle school days, his childhood friend lied to him saying she is dating a senior just as he was about to confess his love. Made worse by the rumors made by the senior saying they had s*x (they didn't)
This destroyed his trust for any friend

And final nail to the coffin would be in the same time, he tried to win a sport he is practicing for but was unable to join since he had an unfortunate accident caused by the manager (girl) of the sports team he is with
This destroyed his ability to dream and aspire for himself

The novel started off weird and seemed to be centered around a misunderstanding type of comedy like Gamers! That was only at first though. The title says it best. Due to circumstances, the MC is emotionally and mentally broken to a severe degree and the reasons for it are tragic. Thus, the boy was broken one more time.

see MC was not broken one more time, MC was broken from the start, a ret*rded MC if you will.

MC ability to comprehend relationships is so downright abominable that he, as author writes, "gets broken".

prologue tells a story about childhood friends who want to advance their relationship to a higher level, but as is the case in japan, the boy has to make the confession, so the girl is waiting for MC to confess, gets mad cause MC doesn't confess, then tells MC... more>> that she is accepting another guy's confession to instigate MC, but MC trolls her by confessing to her saying how he wanted to confess to her later and then leaves. Girl is left dumbfounded and cannot explain herself to fix the misunderstanding and clear up the situation, cause MC runs away.

and someone wrote a review saying how MC is not a common cliche japanese MC lol

this is why I wish NU would add "ret*rded Protagonist" tag. Japanese novels are full of them <<less

Starts out strong, with clear direction. Somewhere around chapter 30 it becomes typical ecchi "lucky pe*vert" timid beta MC harem tr*sh, with women of all ages throw themselves at MC, literally asking for s*x with him, and MC just ignoring it. Romance? Nope. No development here, just an endlessly indecisive MC and female characters that are portrayed as mindless thots.

Seriously in this novel the only explantation to the absurdity of the developpement after the first 15 chapters is " because the author wants it this way"

I was very interested in the strat by how the MC is indifferent to the girls who wrongd him ad it was totally there fault but then the author forces the evenets so they can go back to how they were, WHY though ? Why does he have to reconcile whith them ? They hurted him unilateraly, never apologized in time and then what... more>> he have to forget his years of pain because they asked for forgivness and act as if nothing happend, hell no. I ould be OK if there was for exemple a new gil who show up helps him recover and maybe forgipve them but no wa going back, staying indifferent is the way to go. It's sad that a lot of novels starts in a unique way but at the end converge to the same end just to please the most readers even though the bigest hits are most of the time the storys that don't follow the treds. <<less

Enjoy the MC tr*shing every girl that have to give everything to him to get forgiveness.

I love this novel, I know that's a pretty biased way to start but whatever, the thing about this story is the uniqueness of the protagonist, if you can't get behind him and understand him, you are absolutely and without a doubt, going to hate the story, but if you understand and side with the protagonist, you are pretty much guaranteed to like it, there is a very difficult middle ground, honestly if you are mixed about it that's impressive.
Now, let's talk plot, the simplest way to summarize the... more>> story is, we follow the life of a dude, and how he got destroyed and broken in every aspect of his emotional and mental health, causing him severe trauma and leaving him in a heavily depressed and suicidal state, and how he is trying to get better and start working to heal his mental and emotional health, to finally start to leave behind his traumas, and finally be whole again, and how other people help him through it, (only some of them, some don't because they aren't actively hanging out with him, others were the ones which hurt him, and are tryna make it up to him, the number of people who actually are trying to help him and haven't actively contributed towards his mental trauma is few in number but strong in heart), and this is his journey through it.
The story leans hard towards how he sees stuff, after all the traumas, and his misunderstanding with his cognition of how other people think of him, towards the reader it is a very emotionally driven story, and if you can or not empathize with him and his situation, influences your view of the story, and by proxy its protagonist, very, very hard, at some point it even starts to feel guilt tripping with how they show his situation and his view and opinions of others, trying to make it so you root for the clearing of his misunderstanding and problems, so he can finally be sane, in that sense as I said earlier, if you can't bring yourself to like the MC, or you can't care for him, you will not be able to get invested in the story.
You get a good feel toward how the story will go at around chapter 24, so if you liked it up until that point then you will like the rest of it

If you wanna know what happened to him, and how these incidents messed him up before you start reading, check this:

Spoiler

Now this people had reasons for why they did this, it's fine to hate them for what they did, but do keep in mind that they heavily regret what happened and are actively and strongly trying to redeem themselves and make it up to him (these ones are the ones I have seen as far as translation has gotten, I will update it if something else appears)

· His mother pretty much abandoned her motherly duties, due to her huge focus with work and didn't try to meaningfully connect with him in his earlier years
-Denied him of parental love and made him start to create a cognition of himself where he was mostly a bother

· His sister got stuck with caring for him, due to their mothers' fault, so while being very young got really fed up with it and lashed out at him in a park where she told him that she hated him and to disappear
-Destroyed his familial trust, and made the cognition from earlier take a real form

· His childhood friend, one of the few reasons he wasn't fully mentally and emotionally dead for a while, tried to pressure him into saying something by pretending to have boyfriend, which he didn't take well at all, basically breaking their relationship
-Basically the finishing blow to his emotional health, denying him of the few emotions that he still had and finalized his cognition of how other people not only actively disregard him but found him to be unbearable or a pain to deal with

· In elementary school, he was framed for having stolen something from an intern working there, where his classmates proceeded to bully him due to a mistake by the teachers, which also wronged him as they didn't listen to his explanation and decided that he was wrong and that was it
-Destroyed the trust he had for his peers and his superiors, in this case teachers, and made it so he actively avoided interactions with others

· In middle school, he was a member of the basketball team, the manager of the club, which was aiming for the MC and told him, told some of her friends how she disliked him and couldn't stand him due to her embarrassment and by an accident made it so he couldn't play the finals
-Destroyed his yearning for goals and aspirations, and the finals where a place which he thought would be enough for him to get closure with what happened with his childhood friend, basically denying him closure on that

I...I don't know wtf happened to this novel man, I admit, I genuinely enjoyed reading the first volume of this novel, I was ready to give it a three-star, the characters are insane, unrealistic, bat-sh*t crazy and are borderline in needs of medical attention, I could look all past that and just enjoy this as a light read with a low expectation (I mean, my expectation for LN/WN are never high to begin with), but then things... turn?

Spoiler

The first red flag is the first time MC sister kiss MC as a way for her to make sure her feelings of loving him is genuine and real, and I'm not gonna lie, is absurd af, but you know, I saw the in*est tag and this is in the range of my prediction, so I could look past that, the real bummer though, came from the pacing of this novel.

You see, from the number of Female characters there are, this might incline you to believe that this is a slow burn kind of novel, a type of novel with each volume solving the misunderstanding and problems MC has with some female character, but nope, in the span of fewer than 25 chapters, all the misunderstanding MC had distempered, all feud is resolved, no hatred remains, which remain a bummer, heck, even MC view, stance, feelings and emotion over the last 13 years completely changed because...."Love" (No seriously, I put love in quotation to for insult, but because I genuinely don't know whether the female characters is actually in love with MC, or are just insane).

This doesn't explore the female characters which consist of: an insane Aunt who repressed MC memory, the two female classmates with the combined IQ less than that of a table, A sister with questionable action and motive, and you get yourself a mess of a novel

NOICE!!

Quite good in my opinion, it's meant to make it that way... Though I felt sad that other low ratings feel that he's an idiot and too "pure", but to be fair he's not. The pain looks tame as we (the readers) can see it clearly and knows every perspective. If this scenario really happened in real life, I don't even know how that guy would be alive in the first place. Psyche breaking events happening to him, and it felt to others that it's just a wound that would... more>> heal overtime is funny.

Spoiler

Let's put it at this way.

    • First of all you are neglected by your own mother since childhood, when a child needs their parent's care and love the most and she is just neglecting her and funnily with her clumsiness and cowardliness, I don't think the amount of misunderstandings the MC got from her piles up till it got fixed. This made him close down a bit of his personal desires a bit.
    • Now this leads to Second case. Due to your other family member (mother) neglecting you so much in childhood, again it's the phase when the child needs the care and love the most, there is your Elder Sister that is not much older than you. Understandable that the amount of dependence he got on her is too high due to imbalance with the three person family. But then, it's understandable that she would also bear heavy responsibility, and
due to her being a child herself, she give in to envy and rage (MC didn't know how much Mother dotes on him), out of the surprise and shock of our MC, out of anger she tells him to get die (be gone or whatever) and pushed him off (he also got a physical concussion). This case made the first breaking point on his life. The sheer sense of lost and loneliness a child of his age (this should be on his time on elementary school) is already a red flag for a normal person to have a broken mindset. If not for his aunt to give him suggestions and a "seal", it's enough for a child to get drastic change of personality and might even get spirited away. This incident broke every vestige of emotions of familial happiness and love for him. His sense of self got saved in the nick of time luckily. Oh BTW he might have a physical problem with his head at this point.
    • Third part should be when he knows he's not loved by his OWN family, now in turn it's outside of that (basically the public). The theft incident made him not have an inkling of trust on every strangers and acquaintances he has. At this point he felt that everyone just doesn't trust him and this made him cold to any kinds of favor from anyone he doesn't trust. But hey, at least he got a supportive childhood friend and her family who trusts him that he's not that kind of person. This childhood friend of his is the remaining anchor that gives the MC emotions. This incident made him isolate himself and lost his trust on the world, this also made his quirk that would get misunderstandings on general public/classroom. Also goodbye self-confidence and anger emotion
    • When you thought at the least that he still has this little anchor then the Fourth incident came. Oh this one is similar to the second incident, but this is the final nail on the coffin that affects MC's everything. What has he lost? Simple. It's Love. This officially made him feel that no one loves him at this world. Imagining that there is his fragile hope misconception that at least there's at least ONE person that would love him in this life just to get dumpstered and "betrayed" by that same person right before he wants to confess his love to her (she does loves him dearly BTW). This broke every emotion that he has left.
    • Fifth incident is just someone kicking a corpse already. To be fair the basketball girl just got unlucky and MC again got injury physically and emotionally again. At this point he's just a husk and just wanted salvation by pouring himself into basketball. But guess what, He can't even do that and it's right before the tournament LMAO.

With this multitude of psyche destroying tragedies, if not for Aunt sealing some of his emotions. I highly doubt that he would be still be alive lol.

Essentially this isn't a review, more like a rant after all. I'll make a proper review of it later when it hits 100 chapters (hopefully he got redemption) !!!

He's pure because instead of the shards being broken, they are instead pulverized to smithereens by these Girls who traumatized him and still glancing at him, hope it's not too late.

Hope he ends up with a girl that is not guilty-driven at all and has normal relationship with him. <<less
