A fantasy war chronicle following a bloodstained girl as she races through the battlefields.

The girl who was born in a poor village, Shera, saw a “tasty-looking” Death God behind the Liberation Force soldier who was attacking her. Shera ate the Death God before it could bring down its scythe on her.

She went on to become a soldier of her Kingdom’s Royal Army. With a giant scythe in her hands, she fought to destroy her enemy, the Imperial Army — And more importantly, to obtain delicious food.

This published book version is almost the same as the web novel version, so I'll copy the review I've written for that:

This series is war record story following an absurdly strong girl with mysterious powers as she goes from battle to battle, fighting for an "evil" kingdom in pursuit of more and more food, making some friends and witnessing (and committing) various war atrocities along the way.

Fairly gritty in both setting and action, with a cast of a handful of interesting characters with their own goals and motivations, both on... more>> the protagonists and antagonists' side.

The difference from the web novel version is that the published book has extended scenes, overall refined writing, and adjusted minor elements to better fit with the author's other published works in the same universe. The final chapter has an extra perspective added, effectively doubling its length and providing a more definitive closure.

Translation by Barnnn is very high quality, much preferable over all the translations for the web novel, but is incomplete. My recommendation would be to read this version to the latest available chapter (7 as of this review's writing), then continue from the corresponding next chapter of the web novel (8). <<less

I enjoyed this story, it is by far a lot closer to being a regular book, which means its written better than most light novels.

I didnt like that the main character didnt really seem to progress much during the story. She remained pretty much the exact same throughout and I think that is a big missed opportunity. The side characters do progress some.

You can track the affect the MC had on others in the story but the villains werent really fleshed out, well none of the characters were too much.

This... more>> mostly consists of running from basttle to battle with time skips, and there wasnt any tension since the book tells you how everything turns out like 2 chapters in. <<less
