As a newborn vampire, Luo ZhouZhou’s instincts are ingrained in his genes making him embark on a constant lifelong quest for a matching mate. His mate’s blood must be warm and sweet, with the scent of red caltrop fruit. However, after almost twenty years of searching without any luck, Luo ZhouZhou felt himself withering away until he traveled to an unknown time and space.

Getting accustomed to his new human life (not human, vam-pi-re!) is far from easy, but when he ends up at the office of the Bayard district’s police station, he finally finds the smell he has been searching for all this time.

Only a whiff and I know he’s the mate I’ve been looking for!

In a strange place with pheromones and secondary genders, the naive Luo ZhouZhou, who knows nothing about the workings of this ABO world, has to find the owner of that scent. And there’s also an omega killer on the loose!

What are omegas and alphas? Some kind of personal s*aves? If only this General Chu Feng would leave this vampire in peace so he can fulfill his lifelong quest, dammit!

This was a fun short read and the plot was written very nicely to follow.

MC is a cute bun and ML is caring and love them both alot

The translations are great, thank you so much.

... more>> The beginning was like CSI MC and ML work together looking at the bodies and working out clues to the mu*derer.

then everything getting drag to the main and plot and we find out about MC's past.

It was also a part of healing for ML to meet MC finding someone he love and care for again.

At the beginning I thought the MC's family was going to be scummy but turn out they are one of the best loving family there.

MC is smart but mostly he acts dizzy and very kiddish random for his age, he grew up freely, like his vampire powers and the things *spoilers*

Recommend this for a short good read. You love the mysteries and the characters. It's fun <<less

the mc's personality was kinda off putting for me mid reading and I got some sort of sec hand embarrassment from it that it made me want to stop reading but I'm glad I didn't.

trust me it's worth the read; a not so spoilerish :

Spoiler

because you will find out why his personality or why he acted like that (in the way that he seems childish or acted rashly without a second thought will be revealed towards the end)

[collapse]

giving this a 4.5 because I like the overall story just -0.5 because I wish it was longer towards the end or atleast some extras.

overall a good not so lengthy read. <<less

I'm a huge sucker for cute protagonists, and MC definitely takes the cake. He's an adorably naive little vampire omega who, despite his best efforts, only succeeds in convincing everyone that he is delusional and definitely not a vampire. He has absolutely no sense of danger, and has some quirky habits on account of his being a vampire.

Spoiler

He hates sleeping on top of the bed, so he sleeps under the bed. At one point, he tried to sleep in the closet but almost suffocated.

[collapse]

Nevertheless, ML becomes smitten with his straight forward personality. They are super duper sweet and there really isn't any angst between them. This isn't so much of a slow burn as it is a slow progression of their relationship.

Spoiler

MC and ML get together very early on, but they don't take the last step for a long time because ML is a gentleman.

[collapse]

This novel really isn't too heavy on the ABO aspects and the plot is more centered around the overarching mystery. There are quite a few unresolved loose ends at the end of the novel, but the main couple were super sweet so I will give it a pass.

Recommended if you're looking for a little bit of mystery, a touch of comedy, and a mouthful of fluff. <<less

I don't know how I managed to finish this one since I always subconsciously avoid mystery and action tags lol. But maybe because I like MC and ML, and their interactions so I persist. And more importantly, there is no r*pe/dubcon! Our ML is a gentleman, yaa!!!

When I read the first few chapters, I was like "is this MC st*pid?" because he not only tried to ran away from home, but also convince the father that he is actually not the original. This silly child! Sometimes I feel bad for... more>> the people who interacts with MC.

Warning!!! A BIG spoiler about MC! (And the title)

Spoiler

MC will become a vampire towards the end of the story, and things became easier for them from then on.

MC wasn't transmigrated like I thought at first, but got his memory erased. His father wants him to forget about the vampire things, but didn't know what went wrong, MC only remember about him being a vampire, which is the complete opposite of his father's plan. And no, MC's parents weren't vampire.

MC's parents just love MC so much, I cried more than once because of them. Especially his father. He'd do anything to keep MC saveㅠㅠ

[collapse]

The amount of fluff is just right for me. And like the other reviewer stated, there really isn't any angst between MC and ML. There is comedy, and the mystery part sometimes gave me chills. I'm new, please don't judge. <<less

I just finished the novel, and let me tell you. I finished it in just one day, why? bcs this sh*t is amazing af. I'm gonna talk about the novel on why you should read it and then address the bad ratings.

So about the MC, HE'S A VAMPIRE. He came from a different world/dimention. But suddenly, he woke up and one day he's in a different body and not a vampire anymore. He had a mission, it was to find his mate bcs if he failed to then he'll age... more>> to an EXTENT and then die. About these hoes complaining bcs the MC is dumb, first of all, if you fcking woke up to an unfamiliar body and surrounding. With no fvcking memories of the owner of the body and lost your vampire ability, I'm pretty sure you don't know how this unfamiliar world works and freak out.

This is not your typical mary sue MC where they easily adapted to their surroundings, has the MC halo, golden finger and easily accept what happened to them. It's also one of the reasons why I love this novel, it's very realistic. TOTALLY A HIDDEN GEM NOVEL

I saw someone saying that how can the MC be this s*upid when he lived for ages and acts like that. Mf, it's different where the MC lived, he lived with his fellow vampires not with some fvcking humans so how would he know how he should act like a "proper human being". And by what you said, it's clear that you haven't/DIDN'T finish the novel.

So before y'all talk sh*t about it and give bad ratings, make sure you guys finished the novel you dumb fvcks.

I don't wanna spoil anything so pls read it and experience the GREAT PLOT AND STORYLINE OF THIS NOVEL ON YOUR OWN, EXPERIENCE IT YOURSELF. It's really amazing. Especially the character development of the MC, after he got back his vampire ability holy shet he's op af 😭🔥

And the ml? Damn he's so hot and doting. He's got everything, he's very caring and protective. He's just.... Perfect. They're perfect for each other😭😭

Also, this is my first time reading omegaverse novel. AND FVCK I'M GONNA READ MORE OMEGAVERSE NOVELS RIGHT NOW THIS sh*t IS GOOD WHAT THE HELL <<less

I saw a lot of comments asking the same questions and a few key points that some people missed because they dropped early.
Spoiler

1. MC got the wrong mate at first because of the scent patches, stop asking.

2. MC’s personality does come off as immature and dumb/naive, but if you finish reading you’ll know his past and the truth about his whole being. It doesn’t make up for some of his dumb and dumber decisions but it explains why he holds onto his vampire persona belief for so long.

Spoiler

1: he really is a vampire, 2: both versions of him are him, 3: he was forcefully cut off from the vamp connection and had his memory wiped, only his memories of being a vamp remained so he held on to that. He doesn’t have the common sense of us regular folk cuz all he knows and trusts in is his vamp side

[collapse]

There were some parts that dragged in the middle, when MC was in his dumber moments, but the later parts made up for it kinda. And from how badass he turned out to really be, it’s no wonder he would be so reckless at moments.

[collapse]
idk I just finished so I’m feeling a little defensive over some of these comments but I do think it makes up for a pretty satisfying story so give it a try. And MC does lose some of his ditziness (eventually) so that’s something y’all might look forward to.

Surprisingly good.

The MC comes off as a typical cute cinnamon roll at first, but as you read on, all you can see is his inner bad-ass shining through.

And that's what attracts the ML. The gap moe between this little innocent sweet cake with no fear and the vicious little vampire who can run you down and watch you die without blinking.

And for an OP ML, there's a lot of personality. Little quirks, proper back story, etc.
Spoiler

He likes to goes to a space themed kid's restaurant on the regular by himself just because he wanted to be an astronaut as a kid. How cute is that!!!???! He's tickled pink when the MC puts a little astronaut sticker on his car.

[collapse]

Between the absolute adorable interactions of the main CP and the awesome cop mystery drama, it's nicely balanced fluff/action, my favorite sort of story.

I will not give a bad rating because I did not like the novel.

Well, I can say this MC are not my cup of tea. I have read only 11 chapters, but he is too s*upid and naive, he has absolutely no instinct for self-preservation or common sense. It might have been fun for the first few of chapters, but at this point, he's not even trying to figure out anything about the world he's moved to. I don't know if it will be better, but I love characters with... more>> at least a hint of IQ. <<less

Great start, until I dropped it at around chapter 42.

Plot was so interesting, and I was really liking MCs character (even ML was a gentleman at the start) until ML did this (upcoming spoiler) :

Spoiler

I absolutely understand politics and how he didn’t want to offend anyone yet at the ball/dance, but literally parading a positive relationship (not romantic but parading as interest in someone else just for political purposes) in front of the MC and basically everyone else was disheartening. I absolutely hate MCs getting hurt like that, especially if it’s emotional hurt. ML then tried to explain it to MC, but it honestly just makes MC look like a fool because he accepts it so easily.

[collapse]

I wanted to see MC get more fired up about it. This transitions to how I feel about MC’s character too. He showed great promise with the investigative scenes, but loses all brain cells when facing the topic of his mate.

Like ML just pissed me off because I thought he was different from other scumbags. He’s obviously better character-wise, but his intentions and actions at that moment are not, imo. Maybe minor to some, but a deal-breaker for me. I’ve read the spoilers, and yeah glad what happens eventually. Still, that event was a total turn-off (personally!) for the whole story. I just didn’t want to read more.

Anyways, just give it a try, since I know everyone has different tastes. Plot is interesting for sure. <<less

I am pleasantly surprised. I actually enjoyed this novel so much, even though I'm usually not a fan of ABO. Coming into this, I thought it would be on the simple side, but it has really exceeded all my expectations.

The MC is super cute and smart. I know some people don't like him because of his "s*upidity", but I can assure you that he's not dumb. I think anyone in the situation where they are transported to an unfamiliar world would be confused and not adaptable. It's completely justified. Plus,... more>> if you read the entire novel, you'd know why he acts like this.

Simple explanation here:
Spoiler

The MC actually got his memories wiped and he only remembers being a vampire and does not remember his life as an omega, therefore the world seems new to him even though it is his real world.

[collapse]

The romance between the MC and ML was very sweet. This story is a bit slower in terms of romance, but rest assured, they are already idyllically intimate by the middle of the novel. I especially enjoyed the ML, he's a tough character but cares for the MC a whole lot. I also liked that instead of being the usual cold ML, he has his own feelings and emotions that are unrelated to the MC. Also... no r*pey attitude! In so many ABOs, the alpha MLs are a usually so sex-driven and there's at least one forced heat scene. This one doesn't have any. Although this novel isn't explicit, you could tell that the ML treasures the MC and the hinted scenes were never forceful. This is just showing that the ML is a well fleshed-out character and he has a strong love towards his mate.

My favorite part of this novel... the plot! Oh my, there are no words for how much I loved it. You could tell how well thought-out the entire thing is. This story is so fluffy and cute, but it's so much deeper than the romance. The whole mu*der and corruption plot was so well written, honestly even better than most mystery-focused novels. This was the perfect balance romance, angst, and suspense. <<less

I was really skeptical at first. As you can see, the cover was really horrible, the title is so cliché, and when you read the first few chapters, the MC looks really weird and s*upid.

But hey you know what? After you read more and more and more, you'll find the truly interesting plot, suspense, mystery, and heart-warming moments. I truly give kudos to the mystery. With each chapter, we can guess the truth because the clue is kinda direct, you won't missed it. At some point, I really disliked MC... more>> and then the next I disliked ML. In short, they both have their own shortcomings but at the end their relationship turns out really great.

Big shoutout to General Luo Pei, the worrywart father, who is really very shrewd and yet a big softie to his son. Without him, this story won't start as it is lol.

I just have a little misgivings about the vampire background. It doesn't really tell us whether MC is really from another world or not.
Spoiler

I mean sure he was given the antidote from the wise man, then his spirit was taken to another world every night. But I don't think it can change your physique to that of a vampire right? I mean it is later revealed that after the sunset face cure is developed, the after effect can't make them a superhuman. So why is the MC the only superhuman or in this case vampire?

This story would be great to have a live action, even with CN Censorship! So great! It's a good thing I wasn't persuaded by the bad reviews. Plot, characters, pace, settings, everything was laid out very nicely!

At first you might find MC too naive, but oh boy, just don't give up and continue reading this because everything has a reason here and why he's like that. ML is such a good guy (to MC only). He's a really great character and not your typical omnipotent ML, he has many many... more>> flaws in which MC accepted it all. Other characters weren't treated as air and they really served their own role!

The action, comedy and the mystery was great! I had guessed it but it wasn't easy, everything just turns away from the real antagonist but there were subtle hints. Such good writing, I commend the author! Together with good translation, it was a really really good read!

Highly recommended! Will definitely read again! <<less

I don't make reviews often, but I enjoyed this one so much to the point where I just can't help myself.

This couple is sweet. God, they're sweet, and I couldn't get enough of them during this entire series.

MC - I'll be completely honest— the reviews almost made me pass on this one. I usually don't go for stories with naïve and s*upid protagonists, and reading about this MC made me hesitate, but I couldn't be more happy that I pushed through my hesitation and gave it a read.... more>> Yes, MC can be a ditz with a very ignorant mindset, however, this is a character where everything is justified and falls into place. More than anything, he's courageous and lovely and full of vigour despite his impulsive behaviour.

Spoiler

I did face-palm during a lot of scenes but looking back, his lack of knowledge and self-awareness made sense. In multiple situations, he was very uninformed and I felt sorry that he was being kept in the dark.

[collapse]

ML - Beautiful and well put-together character, he's mature and smart and knows how to handle the situation while also being taking everything into account. He is very realistic and I found myself being very affected by him as a character— it's nice seeing an ML where the only emotion they portray isn't sheer and utter coldness. He's strong and confident but also has his soft and vulnerable side that obviously has it's own impact on him as a person.

Main CP (MC x ML) - Their relationship is too good. MC is cute and reckless but God he's sweet towards the ML, he is soft and creates a warm and beautiful pillow that the ML deserves to have the opportunity to lay down on. MC is obviously his sun and ML cherishes him more than anything in the world and would do anything to protect him. Together, they are way too sweet and it's impossible to not adore them. Their relationship developed so beautifully and naturally in a way that I don't see as often as I wish I did, there was no 'Oh my God, I think I like him!' moment for either of them and no 'I love you, please accept my confession!' moment. They simply just loved each other and made it known, which was so incredibly sweet and intimate and is something that I value a lot in stories like these.

Plot - The plot was interesting and well-constructed, and I enjoyed the mystery and suspense that were thrown in, as well as the tension and the fighting scenes. I like a story with some good action in it, and this novel easily scratched that itch. Everything was tied together in a satisfactory manner and contrary to a lot of BLs that I read, the plot was definitely intriguing and I was constantly at the edge of my seat, wanting more.

As for the vampire plotline...

Spoiler

It does take awhile for MC's vampire transformation to happen and the story does leave you wondering beforehand if it's all a delusion that the MC has been experiencing. Rest assured however, it is not a delusion, and when his transformation does happen? It is absolutely worth the wait. He kills it and is majorly cool!

[collapse]

There were a few points in the plot that were unfortunately left to speculation that I would have liked to see expanded on, and was disappointed to see glossed over, however, such as...

Spoiler

The 'Wise Old Man', what MC's 'dream world' really was and what the 'vampire drug' he was given really was, who MC's fellow vampires were and if there were more in the world, etc. The ML did mention his own guesses, but nothing was confirmed by the author.

[collapse]

I suppose some people do annoy being able to build their own speculations and theories and that it depends on the person reading, I just wouldn't have minded learning more about the things mentioned and being able to look deeper into them. However, this isn't a huge source of discontent and doesn't affect how I feel about the novel as a whole.

Altogether this was a sweet, tense, mysterious and beautiful novel that I would recommend one hundred times over. It has a little bit of everything (except for spicy scenes, but it was a nice change of pace) and novels like these never fail to make me look back at them fondly.

Give it a go! I'll definitely consider re-reading this in the future. <<less

I put off reading this for the longest time despite its high reviews because of the title, like, LOL Vampire Omega?? How many tropes is the author trying to fit in?

I gave in and read it though and I'm glad I did. If anyone is looking for a deep, plot heavy story then this isn't it. The overarching plot/mystery is in the background but don't take it too seriously and you won't be disappointed. This is a cute storyline between the MC and ML. What I liked most is that... more>> despite it being an ABO universe, you don't see the typical ABO stereotypes. The president, general and all those military types are Alphas, yes, but the Omegas are also found everywhere outside of their homes working regular jobs, much like our society if you translate them into male and female roles.

The best thing I found about the novel is the interactions between MC and ML. Yes, MC is naive and acts like a child, but his memory isn't all there and a large part of him thinks of himself as someone powerful and doesn't recognize danger signs until later on. You also see later on he uses that naive charm to get his way with ML and his dad so he's not a complete idiot. ML, omg, ML is the sweetest. He uses examples to let the MC come to the proper conclusion rather than tell him what to do or what's right. He is always encouraging and praises MC for a job well done and doesn't restrict him in any way. He goes along with all of MC's shenanigans. He's also not stone faced and cold like 95% of all over gongs in these danmei novels. He's emotional, cries, shares vulnerable sides of himself and lets MC do the ass kicking and saving if needed.

Like I said earlier, if you ignore the overall background plot with the church (because that honestly wasn't that well written) and focus your attention on MC and ML's interactions you'll be very satisfied with this novel. Quick and easy read too <<less

I only reached chapter 6 because I couldn't stand the MC. Other reviewers call MC adorable, cute, smart? I say he's an idiot with no common sense. The story might be interesting, but I guess I won't be finding out.

Maybe you're thinking that I shouldn't be rating a novel after only 6 chapters. But to be fair, MCs shouldn't do things that make you roll your eyes every other sentence.

MC transmigrated to an ABO world. He came from a different world where he was a vampire. He took over someone... more>> else's body. MC immediately assumes he's still a vampire. WHY? This is not a spoiler because I didn't read far enough to find out if he really is still a vampire, but my problem with this is that the MC doesn't question it.

MC transmigrated to a different world and takes over the body of a young man who still lives at home with his parents. First thing he does is tell the parents he's someone else. Who the hell would believe him? Also, there's absolutely no consideration for other people's feelings. Even if the parents had believed him, wouldn't they had been heartbroken because they lost their son? But MC just goes and hates on the original body's father for trying to keep him from running away from home. So far, the parents have only appeared as genuinely concerned parents to me, but the MC only hates on them and thinks they're annoying and weird. Absolutely off-putting.

MC hates on everyone that doesn't let him have his way and doesn't really try to understand his situation or this new world he's transmigrated into. All he cares about is escaping home, so he can be free to find his fated mate and drink blood.

Even stories with antiheroes don't have such unlikable MCs. Besides, this MC is too idiotic and brainless to be an antihero. All he cares about is finding a mate. <<less

One of the best ABO I've read. The ML is respectful, the MC is smart (but not OP) and a little silly. It was s healthy relationship that was nice to read, with both of them being proactive in it!

The plot was really well done. I was a bit confused a couple times but everything came together at the end. It was my IQ that wax the problem, lol. Also the side characters were great. I would have loved to read more about them.

I was originally quite wary of reading this book, since I don't usually enjoy the ABO dynamics. However, I didn't want to dive into a super long story so I took a chance on this shorter one and boy am I glad I did!

This still has elements of the ABO world, but with characters that are so well fleshed out and loving, I really didn't mind the secondary genders. I'm not just talking about the main couple (though their relationship is amazing, sweet, unconditional, considerate, and wholesome), but the awkward... more>> mentor, fellow research assistants, patients, and parents.

I particularly love the parental love in this book. I feel like some Chinese novels focus so much on how horrific parents can be, it was refreshing to see one that showed flawed parents in such a sympathetic light. You see throughout this book how the otherwise shrewd father really fumbles around in how best to care for and show his love to his son. I think that's what many people who hate their apparently distant or overly nagging or otherwise imperfect parents forget. At the end of the day, parents are not perfect; but most of them genuinely do care and love their children, even if they don't express it in words.

Other than the great characters and relationships, I found the slowly revealed mystery fascinating, and trying to piece together the tantalizing clues from the book made this an exciting read. I think it becomes apparent what is happening before the final reveal, but that doesn't make the resolution any less satisfying. In this slightly shorter format, the author doesn't really have much space for dithering or leading the reader on wild goose chases. My only gripe is that I would have loved learning more about some of the side characters in side stories (there are none).

The translation was spot on and really well done, though I got a bit annoyed by the commenters on the site. So what if Lou Zhouzhou was a bit naive and clueless? He was adorable! Not every potentially transmigrated character has to quickly adapt to their situation and immediately become OP. In fact, I thought LZ acted much more realistically than most novel characters in his similar situation. I usually enjoy reading other people's reactions on a chapter, but found myself unable to in this book, because they really pulled me out of the world the author was creating. <<less

I don't know if it's just me, but I feel like if I was in the MC's shoes, rather than running around like what he did, I would have spend that two months locked in the house to understand my surroundings and the things happening around me. He was quite aware that he transmigrated to a world he wasn't familiar with and it was said at around 4 chapters that he was locked up for two months and 4 days already by General Luo Pei, I don't know what he did in that few months but he wasn't even able to grasp the basic knowledge in that world. In addition, there was a time in the second chapter where general chu feng said he was an omega and he seemed to miss it although he knows that it was a classification and an important information about him as shown in the following chapters. His actions were just plain dumb and unreasonable. Moreover, I don't know but does the MC lack the knowledge of how to ask. There were a lot of important information he doesn't understand but he'd rather sh*t the f*ck up, go with the flow rather than understanding the things around him. All he thinks about is his f*cking mate like bruh, please. I'm trying to read pass through Chapter 15 because other reviews said it started getting better around there. Like bruh, I hope that's true or I might just die because of second-hand embarrassment.

A typical MC template, kind, naive, innocent, s*upid, seems to have extraordinary advantages even though everything depends on ML, the love brain is rigid, even in critical situations, it is still very s*upid because of love. MC is described as having enough abilities but really lacks logic and even assumptions about strange circumstances, even if there are assumptions it's just useless twisted assumptions. It's just my curiosity about the killer that keeps me from reading it. I think the author used the word "Vampire" just to click on the title... more>> stanza because it describes the background story of ML better than MC.

And when I decided to write this review I thought about whether to drop this novel or not <<less
