It's a novel full of clichés, and chuuni stuff, and that's exactly why I love it. It's so fun, full of all the things I like.

The protagonist, Karami, is a smart, humorous and eccentric character. Whenever he talks all seriously and formally, you just know that deep down he's grinning to himself. All the things he finds super cool and fanboys over are all things I grew up with, and is just so relatable. It's like he's really speaking my language. ... more>>

Imagine him trying to convince himself that 90% of gamblers quit just before they hit big on a gacha and ends up losing all his points? LMAO, I'd do the same.

He is a bit of an unreliable narrator in a way, so he might not explain the full story or say what he truly feels until the very end.

In a medieval era fantasy world we have,

Mirabelle, the Abandoned Witch. A cute innocent girl in a maid outfit with abandonment issues... who could possibly destroy the world.

Alfia, the Eternally Suffering Elf. A useless hikikomori NEET older sister who's a drunkard. I just love her playfulness and the moments she tries to be cool but then her clumsiness takes over.

A gumiho,

Rin, the Fox who Brings Misfortune. A sly, flirtatious and shameless fox that isn't afraid to use her charms to seduce her master.

Assassin's guild, secret passwords, badass grandpa, the Church, paladins and priestess, and the Magic Tower? Sign me up, I've read them before, and I'll do it again.

Each of the girls are loveable, crazy, and charming in their own right. I love watching them slowly open up to Karami and how they gradually become more obsessed. The way he heals them from their traumas, and we see their persona fading away, revealing their true self.

At the time of this review, the first arc has been translated and is available to read.

If you want a unique, original masterpiece and have high expectations for a work of art, this might not be for you. It might not be a masterpiece, but I wasn't looking for that in the first place. It's a guilty pleasure that ticks all the boxes I like.

If you like obsessive girls, yanderes and degeneracy, this is for you. <<less

Title Drop at 230

This work, filled with familiar themes often seen on Novelpia, features common tags such as fantasy, harem, obsession, comedy, and misunderstanding.. The protagonist, as always, finds themselves trapped in a game they enjoy, specifically a s*ave trading tycoon game. To return home, they must clear the main storyline while equipped with a few skills. The key feature here is 'liberating' s*aves, which means returning them to a normal status and providing a safe space, such as reuniting them with family. However, the protagonist's speech and behavior are... more>> cursed, giving them a sinister and villainous aura, leading others to misunderstand them as a serial killer who frees s*aves by ending their lives.

The story primarily focuses on five main s*aves and how the protagonist solves their grudges and problems, only to disappear after releasing them, leaving the freed s*aves obsessively attached. These s*aves develop a deep obsession with the protagonist, to the point of becoming fanatical and believing only the protagonist can truly 'free' them from life itself. The protagonist, despite genuinely helping and releasing the s*aves, ends up dealing with the consequences of their overwhelming obsession.

There is a strong element of misunderstanding, as the protagonist's cursed speech and behavior create the image of a monstrous final boss figure. While there are moments where these misunderstandings could be cleared up, the story deliberately exaggerates them for dramatic effect. Though this intentional misunderstanding can feel forced at times, it still manages to drive the plot forward.

The novel is enjoyable for those who appreciate obsessive stories, even if the s*aves' attachment to the protagonist feels somewhat unnatural and contrived. <<less

It was pretty alright and I could handle the misunderstandings until they got to the beast country. The viewpoints there were so extreme that it instantly made all the flaws in the writing that much more noticeable.

I like all the supporting characters for the most part, though the MC is cartoonish and wildly incompetent. The story keeps kicking the can of any reunions to the point I have lost interest. If I knew how much longer I'd have to wait for a next step in the story instead of these... more>> repeated first steps, I'd continue.

If you enjoy misunderstanding comedies and are OK with the subject matter in the tags, it's probably worth giving it a try. It is nice seeing the characters develop at first, though their developments tend to get twisted and stop being feel-good fluffy and turn into obsessive love. <<less

Just a heads up: I don’t normally read light novels, but I decided to branch off my speciality of mangas, and this novel caught my eye for being something degenerate but unique enough that you wouldn’t usually see in manga.

Yet, maybe it was because of this very expectation that I was pretty disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, the story starts off pretty strong, and it introduces the heroines/characters well. There’s some filler here and there that seem to exist for the sake of extending a certain heroine’s arc, but it... more>> honestly wasn’t boring as the comedy/interactions between the MC and said s*ave we’re pretty funny.

Yet, the humor got pretty stale fast. It was virtually the same misunderstandings and jokes over and over again, and the MC proceeds to do the same things, making the storyline/plot very predictable. And because of a predictable plot, the story’s not as fun, right?

Though I will say that the climax of the Mirabelle arc was simply chilling, so the author d de definitely knows how to write a climax. It’s just the resolutions that fall a bit flat due to the novel’s predictable storyline.

This is a decent web novel to waste time to, and probably nothing more due to its recycled feeling. Every arc just feels the same, and it restarts over again but with a different character. The past characters that we spent reading about and love are barely mentioned at all, and there’s not even an update or checking in with them—or not a notable one. <<less
