I really like this novel- most such romance novels focus on FLs being reborn/transmigrated into shitty families (theirs and/or their in-laws) and after being naive and silly in the first life they suddenly turn into talented strategists along with face slapping all those who did her wrong in the first life and win the ML in a HEA ending. So the premise of rebirth in this story is unique- she regains her past memories AFTER she has married and had a son.

  1. Loved the way the both leads are portrayed. If you want reborn FLs who suddenly become world-class strategists/business women/ femme-fatals- then this is not a story for you. The ML here is powerful but not OP.
  2. And yes, it is agonizing to watch them dance around each other while you rip your hair out screaming "TALK TO EACH OTHER DAMMIT!!" But it does feel a little more realistic. The post-partum depression, lack of communication, crossed-wires and the fact that its easy to scream at 2D characters and say "they should have know" or "how s*upid can she/he be" might make readers shy away since it is not a light-hearted romance but honestly this story is a palate cleanser! And all the above are things that real-life couples do undergo.
  3. Translation. Really good translation. FYI the manhwa has proceeded beyond the novel (no pressure to the translators... really no pressure! I would always prefer quality translations over MTL)
Many might be annoyed at either leads (FL for being a less-than-stellar mother and ML for being an overall lousy husband and father) but in my opinion unlike today; post-partum depression, how isolation messes with a person's emotional and mental state and the fact that you might give birth to a child at the age of 22 but that does not mean that you are mentally mature and motherhood just "naturally" comes to you-... more>> these issues have only begun to be addressed recently. This is a novel with a european ambience - I am assuming they are styling the era similar to victorian or regency England. In that time, such issues were unheard of.

So in case you are wondering if you should try it out- I would say YES! Despite what is shown in the early chapters- both leads are good if flawed people. The problems and misunderstandings don't miraculously go away- just like in real life empathy, patience and good ol' luck also play a big role in mending broken relationships. So truly a treat to read!!! <<less

Sorry in advance because English is not my native language.
A very interesting reincarnation story I must say. The FL died regretting she realized her love for her son way too late and wished she could spend more time with him. Thus, she was given a second change, but she only turned back to 3 years ago, when everything had already gotten bad, her son had already kept a distance to her.

Still, she tried her very best to get close to him. It was pretty awkward and clumsy at first, but gradually it got better.I really like the fact that she had to try a lot, not just succedd after one or two try. She neglected her son for over 10 years, so it would take time for both party to get close. Also the fact that she knew the future 3 years ahead does not make her into a much better, all-knowing person all of a sudden, she's still trying a lot to change, has many aspect to improve, to better the relationship not only with her son but with her husband as well.

Well, on many occasion you may found yourself shouting "Just talk to each other dammit" but in reality it is not easy like that. Been there done that. Commution is always key, everyone knows that yet not many could actually follow that.

The story pacing is good. Not too fast, not too slow. I like it. The translation is pretty good too, although sometimes they had some mistake with the pronouns. The set of character is very likeable (except for 2 or 3 people), they had their own ambition, thought and they made mistake sometimes (many times). But that felt quite realistic to me.

Below is some details I really like in the novel but it's pretty spoiler-ish so read at your own risk.
Spoiler

- The story tackles on pregnancy depression, which is not a common topic, at least in all the LNs I had come across. The depiction is pretty well-done too.
- The FL has quite a good relationship with her maids, the way they joking around brought smiles to my face. She also has some female friends who she's very close with. I always like girl friendship.
- The FL's brother cared deeply about her. But unlike many doting brother-sister pair I encountered, their interaction was very interesting and fun. They bantered a lot, but could be very serious and sincere when needed. Just remember it made me smile. We need more brother-sister relationship depiction like that.
- When she thought she had no right to force her son to forgive her, it's up to him to decide whether to forgive her or not. Yes, neglected and abuse victim is the one who decide whether to forgive their abuser or not. It's not up to anyone to decide that for them, especially by saying some empty words like "forgive them will make your life better".

Spoiler

I could not stand when I reached the part where we find out the truth, originally the MC looks like a bad mother but turns out it wasn't her fault. Misunderstandings, miscommunication, and what the male lead did. Honestly, I cannot help but loathe the male lead, and feel so terrible for the female lead. You will understand later in the story.

[collapse]

Due to that, while I like how the story was written, I had to stop there, unable to bear it.

Spoiler

She was sick and mentally unstable, with no-one beside her, and yet they blame and-. She didn't know what was going on, not knowing it was due to her pregnancy. It wasn't her fault, but theirs due to the neglect she faced. While they aren't entirely at fault, she was felt alone during the whole process. She had suffered from pregnancy depression, with no one around her. Not her family nor her husband. And her husband never told her that he loved him, making her more alone. He was always out, and she was terrified, not knowing why she couldn't care or love her child. Having depression myself, I couldn't feel anything but pure dislike towards the male lead

[collapse]

when I read his reply to how she felt. It was unbearable. He didn't care, and so I couldn't continue. Maybe I will recontinue later on, but if you can't handle this, then you should probably not read it, but give it a chance anyway. All I know is that I feel the male lead SUCKS. Maybe you will have a different opinion, and that's completely fine. He probably gets better but this is my opinion so far.

The translator mentioned there were only tumbleweeds here so I created an account just tp write a review. That is how much I appreciate the TL and editor for their hard work. Thanks for bringing us this wonderful story. Oh yeah and if you're broke like me and can't pay kofee, please just turn of your adblock when using their site. Thats what I did.

On to the story. This KNovel is quite different from the other regress and make up with family type stories cuz the child here is already... more>> a teenager. And the relationship between the MC and her husband is different from other Knovels out there. Overall it is a brush of fresh air and I liked it really much. The way the characters emotions are expressed makes you wanna cry sometimes (i admit I did tear up). Go ahead and read it. What are you waiting for? <<less

Okay. I came here from manhwa because I'm bawling my eyes out while reading it and I just want to torment myself and cry more because I somehow got sick of reading overly fluffy romance-isekaid story so here I am! 😂 P.s. I'm really in love with the story and the way it was presented.

I know this author from other works and I need to say: she always make people cry. Her understanding of emotions and portrayal of each POV is better than a lot of authors. The character development comes first, politics are just background.

It clearly isn't many people's cup of tea. If I am being honest, she works with tragedy and the work flows, but the theme and emotions that comes with it are HEAVY. The manhwa did them dirty, but the novel is a 100000000/10.

I really hope someone pick it up... more>> and translate. But I don't blame the previous translator. I saw in the comments here and other sites that not everyone has the hability to connect with the characters the same way this works demands. Some thing you learn with age and experience, and only with them you can really ressonate with some types of works and characters.

I understand the Duchess, her son and the Duke. Thay are just loss and you can push the blame here and there, but the truth is: how can them make healthy decisions if there was any good reference of behaviour? They don't know what they should do. Therefore everything is hell.

If you are not up to miscomunication and SLOW character development, as well post-partum depression and other mental health issues, this is not a novel for you. The theme is heavy, but also is used from a realist point of view that the general population avoid. <<less

I think this is my new favorite story. All of the characters felt realistic and the characters motivations seem to actually drive the story, instead of just being puppets used to drive the plot forward.
