Kawaii said it best, for the most part. It's between 3 and 4, leaning towards 4 for the closure. It definitely does have plot holes, and the characters' fates are somewhat questionable, too. Perhaps if it were longer and made us feel for the characters more (on all sides), we would understand the justification.

The story only takes 5 minutes or so to read, so I recommend doing so before clicking the spoiler.

It's true that letting the alleged saintess come and go in the palace was s*upid, but there must have been a reason, a light enchantment she cast on a couple of guards or something, so it's not confirmed to be their fault. All the other crimes the nobles did were under enchantment, and definitely not their fault, including the crown prince.

Rage had gone so far criticizing them because of his personal biased hate, but as a third party, doesn't it seem like they're also victims? A father and brother were forced to give false testimony against and concede to the torture and humiliation of the daughter/sister they loved with a smile on their face. Two men who were in love with this woman were not only forced to love another, but harm the one they truly loved with sadistic glee. Everyone was forced to live in a lie for three years with their eyes clouded and their morality compromised. Those aren't minor events, they're traumatizing.

The ones who stepped down through guilt is fine, such as the crown prince, father, and prime minister. I think that's extremely s*upid, as so many people in power stepping down all at once greatly affects the balance of the country, so it seems more selfish than repentant, but whatever. They're doing what they think is right (even if it's definitely not for the benefit of the country, but for their satisfaction, to lessen the guilt. Seriously, the crown prince spent his whole life being trained to take care of the country, but he chooses to waste his days in a monastery praying for a woman who isn't even dead? He is, quite literally, a wasted resource). The other guys, though. It said they were disowned? It didn't specify that this was by choice. If it was, same point as before, if not, what hypocrites the parents are! It's not like they noticed the enchantment either! Again, it's not really their fault. As for the guy who turned to alcohol, that's the most likely scenario when dealing with guilt, but still an unfair fate.

Rage, I don't understand at all. He's kind of a hypocrite. He would've done no different in their shoes except for the s*upid OP cheats he got when he transmigrated. I get that he's mad on behalf of the woman he loved, and logic doesn't have to apply in such a situation, but he doesn't seem to understand what the victim, herself, did: the people around her loved her and only did that due to the enchantment MOST people would've been unable to resist, and would absolutely hate and destroy themselves upon being released... which they did. So, if she had her memories, she probably would be angry as all get out at him.

Basically, I think it was selfishness that motivated him. The people she loved and cared about before (and loved and cared about her in return) are suffering greatly now that the spell has lifted. He killed her off in the story he wove, so they have no choice but to continue to live (making shoddy, guilt-ridden decisions until their inevitable end) or lay down and die (pretty sure that's the route of the alcoholic, and essentially, the prince, too). They can't make it up to her, so they think, but she IS alive. She has amnesia, but she's still her. He made the choice for her, selfishly, either because he was afraid to lose her or was just that thoughtlessly angry, wanting suffering innocents to suffer some more. A third option would be, to avoid an annoying war, he's doing it with intention to tear the country apart from within. Personally, I think that's what's happening. He doesn't seem like a good person, anyway.

I also think the villainous saintess' comeuppance was weak. They tortured her into confessing her sins, just as they did to the daughter, invalidating the confession. This part does make me think less of the prince and co. For all they knew, they were enchanted FOR REAL this time, and were cursed to think the saintess was actually not their type (the fact that being fat = ugly and unattractive is another mark against the story), cursed to think the things they believed so strongly before for 3 years were all lies. If enchantments can make people make up laws and facts out of nowhere, they can make people forget laws and facts, too. Basically...

They once again punished without a proper trial or investigation beyond word of mouth and compromised memory. And this time, they went all in on a torture investigation turned execution. It hints that the leaders are right to step down, as they are definitely flawed, but something tells me the author didn't plan for that.

[collapse]

It's a good little oneshot, for sure, but there are definitely some flaws here, and the revenge isn't really all that righteous to me. I typed a lot in the spoiler, but that's because morality debates intrigue me. For those that don't read too into things, it should be a nice, quick, satisfying revenge story. <<less

Somewhere between a 3 and a 4. I'm voting 4 because I'm a sucker for villainess deconstructed stories.

The story works for a few reasons. First it's very short. It's over before you start to think about the problems or predict what happens next. That's exceptionally important because for a short story it managed to pack in a large number of plotholes. The writing is also very breezy and goes quickly to the end which once again helps you ignore the plotholes. The ending us abrupt and throws the reader an... more>> expected curve. Once again it stops you from thinking about the problems.

Bottom Line: It's a good read if you're on a train or bus. <<less

Probably would have rated it as three if only I didn't read a good piece of otome story before this, and thus easily compare the two. 🙈 Your typical revenge story after noble girl got executed.

Spoiler

Only this time, it shows us they were all under a spell similar to a brain wash. Because of that, it's even quite hard to feel happy for their life being screwed when we all know it's because of other influence they did it and they never intentionally wanted to do it.

Decent One-shot... Just full of angst and revenge I guess.

Spoiler

The tragedy is quite sad for the villainess but at the very least, she got another life (?). Though personally, She should just remain dead. Shia is not Lithia, she's a different person altogether. I guess it's just the remaining consolation for the hero after clearing the villainess' name on public.

Oh wow, we back to writers pleasuring themselves onto paper and submitting that as stories, I guess. This feels like the author read a mediocre tragedy story and rewrote it with himself as a self-insert in the most cliche way possible.

If I could, I'd give this a 0/5.

This story is kind of sad for me. What happened to FL was so cruel. Thankfully, ML came to the rescue and even took revenge for her. It's so satisfying to see the people who wronged her got their retribution. But I also noticed that the tragedy was also due to the fake saintess's curse so I feel a bit complicated because of it.

And to make ML took revenge instead of FL was also the best outcome so the people who wronged her couldn't even ask her for forgiveness even... more>> though they regretted it to the bone since FL was technically "dead".

Spoiler

She's not dead of course. She just lost her memories. But I think it was for the best because remembering her memories only caused her to suffer and she deserved to be happy after those tragedies.

It's a one-shot, give it a go, there's nothing to lose.
Feels rather ill fitting to make the story into a one-shot due to the focus being mainly on revenge and the evil character's deeds are mostly all told in a detached summary.

No major feelings for the character who suffered, no major ill feelings either for the ones who committed those deeds. Just nut jobs all around got BONK'd by a chuuni ML.
Giving it two stars because it sounded more like the author needed to vent on the villains of these types of trope novels who didn't get the ending they deemed fitting so they wrote their own to fuel their frustration. I feel 'em if that's the case.
Spoiler

If you really want to know, it's a transmigration otome game gig world where there's also a novel like hero summoning trope happening.

Transmigrator is the commoner saintess that framed the noble marquis' daughter, summoned hero is a japanese chuuni. Props to author for having a ML that accepts a 'tainted' woman. Doesn't happen all too often.

Definitely a read to see an evil heroine of an otome game suffer for what she has done. Though some parts of the story I think could have been improved on.

Spoiler

I think it was kinda excessive to have a cheat isekai hero solve everything and blame the problem on the ones who were brainwashed. They shouldn't be completely at fault for being brainwashed to commit the crime.

The author does mention he wanted to write it in a way that conveyed it was the kingdom's fault because they didn't make countermeasures/signs of brainwashing but from reading just the story, there's no indicators of such countermeasures against brainwashing. The story itself only shows a saintess resistant to it or a literal deus ex machina hero with powers given by God (s) that counters brainwashing after everything was already too late.

Despite the author tagging it as an otome game, I did not know it was an otome game until the heroine was being cooked like a sweet potato.

Having the evil heroine being tortured to death can be great for some to read but considering how the villainess was also tortured, it seems less justified after the isekai hero was just ranting about how horribly they treated the villainess. Just because you did a horrible thing to one person, doesn't mean it is better if it is done to another person. (Though I will not hold this point too strongly since this ending was requested by the Japanese readers because they felt the heroine being guillotined was too tame)

.... Also... a side note... the villainess losing all her memories... doesn't that basically make her mentally younger? Like I know she's like legal and all... but isn't it basically marrying someone who is mentally a child? Or am I overthinking too much?

First off, I hate these kinds of stories.

Spoiler

Where the initial cause of the problem is that the people involved were mind-controlled/hypnotized. Theey literally have almost no culpability. They had no control over the situation. They may have physically carried out the horrible stuff that happened, but they are just as f*cked as the victims of their actions while they are being controlled. They likely don't want to do what is being done, but they're blamed for everything that happened? Nah, you should break the curse/control and let em know what happened, but don't go pretending that they're the bad guys. They are victims too. Don't try and drag their asses through the mud and make em feel worse than the realization of what they did while controlled will bring to em. Now, if they did all that sh*t without being mind controlled? F*ck em, they deserve bad shit.

The short story would be great minus that one aspect fo the story. <<less

Don't let the low ratings discourage you.

This is a satisfying read and recommended for those who like otome stories.

This one shot pretty much sums up the consequences of being in an otome game based story. The Heroine halo and plot guard can and will cause the innocent ones to be blame even without doing anything just because they were labeled as villain/villainess.

I love how everyone broke down when the truth was revealed. Although, they were manipulated, but none of them were actually able to break free from the spell. This goes to show how their feelings and will weak.

Spoiler

What they did to the 'villainess' was so cruel. The 'Heroine' wasn't even hurt that badly, and the punishment was public humiliation and banishment.

I love that the 'villainess' got a happy ending. Although, not perfect, but she at the very least deserved peace and a loving partner.

Purely a revenge fulfilling novel with the post-villainess theme. It's not fluffy so read at your own risk.

It was a bit simple and straightforward but I didn't read that kind of plot that screams "sweet revenge" recently so it was nice.

4/5 recommended if you don't mind some sad circumstances for a woman.

I'm a sucker for these reverse-condemnation type stories, which is why I'm rating this a 3. Edit: By this I mean I'd probably rate it a 2 otherwise. There are several ways to justify a character's reasoning for breaking off an engagement or condemning another character while still making their punishment satisfying to read about. Not good reasons, just justifiable.

Spoiler

Actual mind manipulation which only an OP cheat protagonist and a literal saintess could resist is not one of those ways.

A beautiful story.. It was soo damn lovely to read, and a definite recommendation for everyone!!
Spoiler

When Rage defended Shia/Lithia (FL) in the beginning, nobody knew who he was and slowly the mysterious dude who wanted justice for a falsely accused noble, was shown to be her husband... The beauty of how he loved her and stayed with her regardless of her trauma, literally was so healing... Everybody deserves somebody like that! Somebody that can heal them, regardless of how little the wound is... <33

like a few people say, it's between 3 or 4. But I gave it a 4 because I remembered something after reading a certain review above.

It was set as a tipical-condemned villainess story, except, the one who go to get revenge isn't her. It's a quick read, and it's definitely nice if you don't think too much of everything in it.

now, for a spoiler-y teritory
