Sorry for the caps lock, I'm just annoyed. The novel described her past body as very powerful and famous Princess who has the most special meridian but she keeps acting like she doesnt know sh*t at all like ??? She keeps asking questions and Im just here thinking, was she really that formidable (?) in her past body/life cause I dont see it now.

I also dont like how the male lead keeps rescuing her like she's a damsel in distress and cant stand up on her own. Its very cliche and boring. I also dont get why the male lead doesnt want her to know a lot of sh*t about him. I thought he loves her like???? She's an "esteemed supreme healer" but we rarely get to see her heal people, she always fights. All the scenes where she displays her heavenly doctor talent can be counted with just 4 hands and Im already at 500+ chaps. Im dropping this novel.

TLDR, for someone who was supposedly a very experienced cultivator and someone who's an expert in 3 professions, she asks too many questions and acts like a child.

If you like a corny and very inconsistent novel, this one's for you. <<less

The story is a common transmigration revenge trope. Similar to other novels, the first male that the MC encountered is the ML, which fell in love with her immediately (I wish for a slow romance since this has 2k+ chapters). Also, it is the usual overbearing shameless easy to get jealous male lead. The antagonists are also brain dead and the MC is OP. A little annoyed when MC is irresponsible eg. Being delayed in a mission because was only entangled by the ML. Another annoying thing is that the... more>> ML finds it fascinating whenever he teases the MC (another childish thing to pursue the person u like. Are u a gradeschool student? 😅). ML even enjoyed lying to MC, he's really sick! And I couldn't even fathom why others find it sweet? 😅 Also, I am annoyed when the MC apologized bcoz she didn't tell her identity as the princess of Tianling kingdom to ML but the ML is very hypocrite, he himself lied and concealed much more to MC (MC's past, his past, his identity etc).

I thought that this is a little different based on previous review but this novel disappointed me. Everyone has their own preference, but the characters are brain-dead. There are many ways to execute a plan. Anyway, the conspiracies here is well written compared to other revenge cultivation novels.

The good points are

1. The MC is likeable

2. The ML is always there to help the MC (find it very cliché)

3. The STORY gets a little interesting around 300+ but the ML is still childish, annoying and PERVERT

4. The story Really got INTERESTING on tianling arc (when the MC went to her original place)

I thought it would be the usual boring bullied-rebirth-revenge story, but somehow it got some interesting stories inside. And I like how the ML protects MC, sweet. So far so good. Worth to read.

Not... horrible? But the MC seems kind of... dumb?

Like not in terms of talent I guess? But just I think whenever she's with the ML she puts down her brain? It makes the second half of the book kind of painful because they're together and then it's just him being smart and her belatedly being like 'oh I'm also kind of smart'?

And honestly it would be better with less foreshadowing and 'oh she had this thought but nevermind', 'oh it seems so familiar but nevermind', because it makes her seem... more>> SO dumb to not realize anything until the end.

And the ending was less girl power than like 'oh hey the guy just magically fixed it' like dude you didn't want to just do that the beginning? what was even the point of this whole story if you're just going to take over at the end and fix everything. <<less

If it wasn't for one thing, I would have enjoyed this story way more. And that thing is...

WHY IS THE ML ALWAYS HIDING STUFF FROM THE FL?

At first it was reasonable, like okay she can't do anything about it because she's too weak and she would just get herself killed and there are more important things to worry about in this moment. He hid his identity and let her grow stronger, waiting for the day he could bring her back to where they met.

And then she got way stronger! They... more>> met each others' families! They got married! And he's STILL HIDING HUGE STUFF FROM HER. My dude, if you can't trust your wife then don't marry her. He won't even tell her about things that are happening to them right in the moment (aka things that pose an immediate threat and she could do something about) because he's just going to handle it in secret for her.

Otherwise, it's a pretty good xianxia plot line, but I do not agree with how machismo this ML is. I want them to fight together, side by side, not this weird cat and mouse game that only he knows they're playing. <<less

Strong female lead, her father is nice and caring, even if they were looked down and lead a hard life before she reincarnated, her father was always there for her, which is rare in most of the stories I read before. The ML is always protecting her in the background, but there's not much interaction in the earlier chapters. Their is hidden talents in both leads. Expecting face slapping, revenge.

I get it why so many readers were frustrated when reading this novel. I don't know what frustrated me more: ML's secretive nature or MC's dumbness. ML said that he didn't tell her the truth for her own good but wouldn't it put MC in a more dangerous situation because of her ignorance? She didn't even know that so many people sacrificed themselves for her while she lived safely and soundly.

My heart ached for Mu Qinghe. He never betrayed MC and only did what he did for MC's sake but when he died, MC didn't even mourned for him. She also didn't try to revive him or help him to reincarnate. He was forgotten just like that. Even Hong Yao could go back but why couldn't Mu Qinghe?

And Jun Jiuqing... although I don't like his personality much, he also sacrificed himself for MC but he died silently and MC didn't even know about it. In her eyes, maybe only ML's sacrifice was worth remembering.

And MC... there were so many clues in front of her but she only got it after someone put the answer in front of her face. I'm so tired reading how it felt familiar but MC didn't remember when she saw it then she just brushed it off while continuing her ignorance life. Yes, she herself didn't even try that hard to know the truth.

It's a pity because I really like War Nishino's other novel. I still give this novel 3 stars though for the author's effort because I know it wasn't easy to write 2000++ chapters. <<less

If I had to guess, I would opine that the author, War Nishino, is a female writer. I have a similar female author in my writing group that has a strong female MC with powers, but the violence when called for is left to the males around her. I advised her if you are going to let your male supporting character do the heavy lifting with the necessary violence and forceful acts, then just make him your MC instead of having your female MC hide behind him, so to speak.

One... more>> of the reasons readers are attracted to wuxia-style novels is that anyone can leverage their Qi, if they possess enough of it, into astonishing feats of power. Then comes the interesting factor of if laws cannot hold you in check as a cultivator, what will it look like when you do what you want? But War Nishino takes much of that away from the MC by letting her counter-scheme for the most part, or she's refraining due to "following the rules" or expectations of important figures in her part of the world, etc. And when the best option is violence ("Your mother lied to you. Violence solves a lot of problems" -- Chris Kyle, military sniper, aka Devil of Ramadi), it's left to the supporting male cast around her or pets. I definitely don't get a traditional wuxia world build vibe from this story. <<less
