Ji Zhen has a lover named Bo Qingyu. Although Bo Qingyu comes from a poor family and has a cold personality, he is handsome and talented—someone Ji Zhen pursued with great effort.

He has stood by Bo Qingyu from his lowest point until now.

However, at this moment, Ji Zhen encounters a strange group of people.

They claim to be players and say that Ji Zhen’s world is an infinite dungeon with an SSSSS difficulty rating, and that his boyfriend is the future dungeon boss.

The players have painstakingly uncovered Bo Qingyu’s regret. To clear the dungeon mission, they used an item to go back to when Bo Qingyu was still human.

Bo Qingyu’s regret is that he never ended up with his true love.

And that true love is not Ji Zhen.

Prompted by the players, Ji Zhen sees Bo Qingyu get injured while saving his true love, and even flash a gentle smile at that person—something Ji Zhen has never seen before. Only then does he realize the players were telling the truth—he is the stumbling block on Bo Qingyu’s path to his true love.

He decides to let go.

To survive, the players decide to fulfill the dungeon boss Bo Qingyu’s wish.

After helping Bo Qingyu get rid of the boyfriend he doesn’t love, the players introduce Ji Zhen to a new lover to prevent him from getting entangled again, and then start helping Bo Qingyu pursue his true love.

But they see the seemingly emotionless dungeon boss’s eyes redden upon seeing Ji Zhen with his new boyfriend.

Warnings:

Dungeon boss is the top (attacker); later ghost boyfriend appears; the receiver has some “heartthrob” traits.

Wife-chasing fire-and-brimstone drama, fierce male rivalry.

Due to infinite dungeon setting, there are some infinite-dungeon elements, but the focus is on the romance.

Essentially melodramatic; heavy suffering for the receiver first, then for the attacker; extreme control themes—enter with caution.

The story started very interestingly and was unexpected in a way that it managed to combine the usual wife chasing trope with infinite flow where neither of the leads were players.

The wife chasing part

Spoiler

had the usual cold ceo ML, his long time lover MC and the green tea character who tried to make them break up in order to get together with ML. Unfortunately the misunderstandings happening between the MC and ML was very weak and seemed to be only existing for the sake of the story and to give MC an excuse to break up with ML.

As the story was built on these easily solvable misunderstandings (if only MC trusted ML enough to listen his explanations) the rest of the story started to feel not very solid and the character of MC which was very enjoyable in the beginning quickly became illogical and boring. As according to the story MC and ML have been together for more than 20 years as friends and then as lovers in which MC was portrayed as devoted to ML and supposedly loved him very much but it only took a few accusations from suspicious people for him to ask for a break up.

While ML is also portrayed as an insensitive cold jerk in the beginning he quickly realises his mistakes and tries to make amends towards MC (so quickly that there was no in between, easily making someone to mistaken that there are two different ML characters; the first one before break up ML who is very cold and insensitive and the second one after break up ML where he does everything he can short of grovelling to get back together with MC and this is only the romance part)

So the same MC who in the beginning was very much in love with ML very decisively broke up with ML in case that he might be in love with another person even though ML repeatedly told him that he doesn’t love that person and doesn’t want to break up. Then MC proceeded to ignore him when ML was hospitalised multiple times (there was no mention of MC feeling worried even if not as a lover but as a friend)

MC even accused ML of deliberately mu*dering his fake second lover and trying to maliciously hurt MC and took extra precautions in case ML hurts him or even mu*ders him. So much for that twenty years old relationship...

[collapse]

So while I couldn’t continue reading until the end just because of the unsatisfactory romance part, the supernatural parts of the story was still very much enjoyable and had very good infinite flow parts included in it. <<less
