Not a bad start! The premise is a solid one: what begins as a switching of the brides is only the prelude to much deeper political and romantic intrigues. Du Juan has dived into something messy and she's only beginning to see that she's gotten into something complicated. Not helping is Xue Mu, the groom and gifted general who seems to really love her (or rather, the person she has replaced).

Du Juan is okay as a heroine so far: she's clearly clever, though you have to wonder how far this ruse will go. The ML and Du Juan's cover had known each other since they were small, and Du Juan is not exactly the most subtle of women.

Thus far, there's been a lot of setup. I do hope we get some more action soon. Our heroine has been doing a lot of eating and wondering what's going on, and doing little on the con aspect of things. <<less

Ha! Didn´t see that coming.

I found myself often smiling as I read. This story has an interesting plot with a few political conspiracies. I really like the clever and capable FL who doesn´t need to face slap evil stepmothers or other family members and can enjoy her food instead. Although she of course still needs to navigate herself through her marriage as the switched wife all the while considering how to achieve her goals.

* Originally it has some loopholes which are kinda alright, so I endured them, but after the rush of ending the novel by the author, the loopholes started to get bigger.. which is sad for this story because it had better potential.

It was good. Until it wasn't. I got really disappointed over the fact that she was her. That was too easy of a dilemma for the ML. And.. The revenge troupe, so cliche with this one. I'm sorry. That twist left me a bitter taste I had to make a review.

The novel has a lot of deliberate twists that are quite engaging. The characters are also endearing and some quite pitiful. You have to keep your wits about you not to get lost on the plots. There has been no updates since July so I was wondering if this is completed already because the novel could still go on for a few more chapters.

Although some grammatical errors made me read a couple of sentences over and over, the translator still did a good job. I would recommend her getting an... more>> editor to help with the small kinks so you don't misread some sentences. <<less

I think one of these reviews here should put a spoiler tag ?.... but it's cool I guess. I basically came into it spoiled because I wanted to see how disappointing it could be and if I would be bothered by it.

Tbh, the translator starts the intro to the 1st chapter saying this is a "fluffy" novel, so did I get disappointed by the plot twist? No. Not that it isn't fair to be disappointed in it. Just considering, it's supposed to be fluffy, I think that should help you... more>> set your standards to enjoy this better.

Although I knew the plot twist, I have to say I was still surprised in a way by it. Even if I was waiting for it, because I was really wondering how it was going to play out.

The way she ended up being the real madam and all the switcheroos still pleasantly surprised me even though I was expecting it because it was still unexpected in the way it happened. To think she was in it deep by 10 is pretty admirable. Whatever I'm fine with revenge being the reason, in any case it's the reason she became smarter and stronger than the average noble. It's fine if youre tired of revenge *plots" but it doesn't mean this is a bad version of one imo.
