Gu Mian transmigrated as the female partner of the popular novel “I’m So Popular”. The original owner disliked the fact that the male lead came from a bad background and dumped him three times which resulted in a tragic end of their relationship.
Gu Mian was fearless even when she was controlled by the plot.
She only waited for the original plot to end so that she would retreat and hide her merit and fame.
But!
Gu Mian was stunned.
Why couldn’t she even break up for the first time?
  -
The male lead said indifferently, “I can’t be your boyfriend anymore.”
Gu Mian breathed a sigh of relief, did he finally agree to break up?
The male lead’s thin lips twitched lightly, “So Mian Mian, let’s get married.”

It's a cute and light story. Any antagonists are taken care of quickly. I wanted to read a story where the MC is lucky and that's what I got.

The content of the story can be described as: lucky koi, showbiz, 1:1 relationship with zero deviation, HE.

I wish MC's prior transmigration life was more important and relevant but it isn't too important except certain occasions. With how the story first started, I thought her skill with reading faces and such would become important but it didn't.

Also the main book plot was... more>> important and present but also not too important since all that seemed to truly matter was MC taking initiative to break up the three times. I didn't enjoy the extra at the end. It was a fine story but didn't really call to me. If he was going to get a romance line, it would have been better if we got it within the same story timeline - could be this new girl no issue with that. Or if it was going an alternative world style, then let it be with MC. Or better yet, an extra about MC original world. <<less

3.5/5

Easy, casual, feel good novel.

MC is forced to carry out the most essential parts of the plot, but details are completely overlooked. So she faces everything with her own "Buddhist" mentality. You won't find much emotional fluctuations from MC- she remains a static character from start to finish. A bit dense, magnanimous, and blunt, but polite in her own way and forever calm.

The novel's biggest appeal and central theme is MC's Mary Sue-ness and the plots that follow to highlight it. If you're looking for deeper emotional development, characterization,... more>> or exciting twists and turns, this is not the novel for you. But if you're looking for a light, easy read and pure satisfaction, you may consider giving this a try.

That said, ML is fleshed out very well, and he is probably the character who received the most love from the author in regards to character development. He grows from his aloof male god temperament due to his burgeoning curiosity about his nominal 'girlfriend.' The interest turns into appreciation, like, doting, coaxing, then love. Funnily enough, ML always thought MC chased him first then was hot-and-cold with him, but for MC, it was ML wooing her from start to finish.

So: wish fulfillment novel.

Kind of like junk food. You know it has little to zero nutrition, but it's tasty so you eat it anyway. <<less

Easy reading. MC is typical koi physique who is earth shatteringly beautiful but has a more stable personality. The follow the book elements are so weak they just serve to add some drama and spur the plot, there's no real followup or seemingly any proper consequences.

ML, first cold then very hot. I actually quite like him because he was pretty decent even when he wasn't in love. Obviously MC still touches his heart a bit which is why he does more but he's a decent guy. I feel bad for... more>> him because of the 'breakups'. It's an unreasonable way to deal with a relationship and honestly he was the one who suffered more emotionally. Regardless of the plot and MC's unsureness of her relationship, I dislike how she handled the breakup scenes especially when they were a proper couple. The weakest part of the book.

There's not too much big conflict, the emotional line and their interactions make up the majority of the book. Not particularly good but enough to pass the time. <<less

MC feels like a support that can give you lucky buff.

I just like how MCs koi physic can be shared if you are friendly to her. You know, every MC has Koi physic but it is just used to their own selves and they are scheming.

MC here is Buddhist-like. This is my definition of pure. No worldly thought, No scheming, calm, confident. What others (some) definition of pure is cute, naive, innocent, big eyes, watery eyes, s*upid, can do bad thing but once they said they... more>> don't know they became pure?? No, I don't even define kids as pure. (But babys are pure) <<less

The extra story at the end need a full length damn story instead of just a few chapter.........

I don't know about the other who felt that this story was flat or not particularly good because of the few emotional twist, and the lack of the usual bullsh*tty plot that some Chinese novel have fully mastered to annoy people. Instead I couldn't be more GLAD.

I found this story very refreshing, cute, funny, feel nice vibe about that I truly enjoyed and this is exactly how the author wrote it and I... more>> couldn't been more grateful and I wish that there were more story like that.

Like if there are so many story with s*upid misunderstanding and bullsh*t twist that I lost count, I'd rather find millions of stories like this one than one piece of sh*t that will ruin my day.

People need appreciate more the simple stories because we certainly need those in an ocean of very tumulted stories where the author always looking to shock the audience with some developments that made me question their sanity more than once.

If feel-good isn't your cup of tea then don't ruin it for other, because this might be the story that someone needed to decompress from a long day of work. <<less

It's a good read if you're just gonna read to pass time or leisure but if you're here for plot, meh I don't think this novel is for you.

Novel's not bad but it's not good either, it doesn't get you hooked up as much. There's not much plot either, at least the chapters I've read up until now didn't have much.

The FL is an extremely lucky person quoted as Koi by the ML and I have to say, it's pretty much all about how her luck is so good that... more>> she gets everything done and everyone's praising her (˵ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°˵). And also the thing that disappointed me was that the author didn't give details of how the ML fell for the fl. There was too much time skip, I have to say which was why it skipped over the ml's increasing like for the fl.

I don't know, I just couldn't get myself into the novel. I read since I had nothing to do but well, the plot's seems pretty simple and boring (?) So yes, I dropped itヾ (^-^) ノ <<less

Cute story, really wanted to drop in the first chapters becuase of minor things:

Spoiler

1. The fox used in the movie didn't come with a trainer and the director assumed the actress would be able to act with it. Smh. Pity the og MC.
2. Music producer expected singer to memorize the lyrics whil recording the song. I know that famous singers keep their music sheets with lyrics while recording.
3. Autism. Yep, as is usual with the CN they confuse autism with trauma.

[collapse]

So I skipped those parts to read the sweet interactions of MCs as reviewed by other users and got what I wanted. <<less

This was a relaxed read. I would recommend this to people who just want to turn your brain off to the lowest level possible. Just take it in and let it be.

I think that the author did a good job at making the main leads (male and female) likeable. They're not characters you'd empathize with but they are definitely people you will be entertained by.

I gave it 4.0 stars because it is what it is. If you check the tags and the labels, you should know what you're getting into. It's not a romance for all ages but it delivers on what it set out to do - entertain your girlish heart.

This is a novel with a smooth sail plot but filled with plot holes, which is almost the typical cliché of entertainment plus CEO.

It was decent in the first half of the novel, but then later on it becomes diluted with filler and many more absurd stuff:

Spoiler

Because of the author deciding to make the FL a Mary Sue with a deus ex machina, total golden finger which is her luck Koi, and deus ex machina Feng Shui stuff...

Apparently FL can save ML's dad (irrationally), can get ML a big deal VR company, and FL's golden finger played a part for ML to fall for her, as ML quotes her as "her little koi", even later on this golden finger is a stain on their relationship.

And don't get me started with Second ML's OOC for the FL. Him "falling in love" because of his image of the "perfect girlfriend", thus resulting in 30 pointless chapters of drama.

Before it wasn't that powerful, but in the last half of the novel it really became a total golden finger, thus making FL a Mary Sue, which made the FL unlikable.

[collapse]

Honestly, the whole extra chapters with a different FL for her crush were more entertaining, than reading the whole story rollercoaster 3.5 to 2.5 downfall. If it had more extras of the other characters except the Mary Sue FL and Gary Sue ML, I might've rounded the 2.5 rate up.

Overall, I only recommend if u want to turn off ur brain, for a smooth sail and "too perfect romance" plot.

P.S: Bed scenes, aftermath detail.

Goodnight. <<less

It’s 3.5.

not bad but not great. Just ok found the story a bit too bland. FL had no particular redeeming feature, same for the male lead. I skipped few chapters. Didn’t enjoy the side stories. The romance is cute and slow build. Was hoping more would happen with the story settings but nothing really happened. Read it when you have time to spare.

i liked it until I started reading the side story.

the main story is very easygoing and cute. There are parts that I didn't like but they are very minute that it didn'taffect my enjoyment and those that did later got resolved in the story.

i enjoyed the fl. She's very chill and I found the reason why she had to follow the plot to be the most reasonable one by far. She actually gets struck by lighting if she doesn't follow the main plot point for her character. And I like... more>> that while she still has to follow the plot it also gets some leeway. Like she can still be herself which in turn ended up making the ML fall in love with her. And plus she actually calls out on the ml's bs that one time he participated in a d*ck measuring contest with the 2nd ml. Her opinion matters you s*upid men!

the ML start off as a cold snob but we later get to know him and why he acted that way at first. Amd honestly he is such a good ml. I love their intimate moments the most.

the side characters are just meh. Nothing really special about them while the 2nd ML is just an elitist prick who can't understand when a woman just isn't interested. Even though he does come around in the end, he is still in my sh*t list for all that s*upid d*ck measuring contest I had to read through bc of him.

what I don't enjoy from the novel is there was too much exposition. I found myself skimming through them bc the author keeps changing their mind about the ml's backstory. And how they handled autism and su*cide. the side story is tr*sh. The ML os the 2nd ML and the FL is a vreepy stalker (but isn't seen as one by the author) that got back in time. She a grown ass adult couldn't get over a s*upid crush she had as a teen. And dedicated a chunk of her life following the 2nd ml. Ew. <<less

Very cute. A great quick read. I looked at other reviews and was skeptical to pick u this book but here are my thoughts. The main character is different from most my personalities. She’s very “Buddhist”. Our male lead is developed a bit thin, but the way he interacts with our MC is goals. I loved how the problems in other books that enrage me were seen to be s*upid and not worth the time in this book and the unnecessary drama was pushed aside for the dog food moments.... more>> If you are taking a break between extravagant books, this is a great filler. <<less

Excellent read!

I loved it. This novel was an amazing read. It was light, fluffy, sweet and really nice to read. I enjoyed it from the first chapter till the last.

Spoiler

I really enjoyed the supporting female character turned MC's Buddist-like personality. It made me not know whether to laugh or cry. So many times, it was so hilarious that it had me rofl. And as I am a crazy transmigrated/reborn-cannon-fodder-turned-MC troupe fan, seeing the originally unfair plotline changing into our MC's favour made me happiest. So, I loved how our MC's originally ill-fate with the surrounding characters, be it supporting characters or cannon fodders and especially the ML, changed little by little. It was a funny light yet hilarious journey of how the MC made her mark in the entertainment industry, how she connected with her fellow industry colleagues, how the ML fell in love with her, and how the MC finally broke through the plotline shackles and was able to earn her Happily Ever After with the ML afterwards. She is awe-inspiring in a way. She, who awoke in a transmigrated book with the plotline shackling her, has worked hard yet when reading it, it feels more like a comical experience since her journey was filled with so many elements of comedy, hilarity, fluffiness and moe-ness.

As for the ML, I also loved his character. Unlike what some reviewers may say, I didn't think nor feel that the ML was manipulative. His starting character set-up may have appeared as though he is cold and indifferent, but that is definitely NOT the case as the story progresses. I can guarantee it! In fact, his character in the beginning likely set quite a bit tone to the plotline and the novel build-up. After all, only when comparing his initial character set-up in contrast to his growing character build-up, would the differences be brought into the limelight! He may have been quite solemn initially, but oh boy, once he set up on the path of no return to attain our MC's love, he simply blows us away with his cute little scheming self, which feeds us with tonnes and tonnes of dog food with his fluffiness.

Some may interpret ML as being manipulative when he insisted that MC allow him to cuddle her in bed after she first rejected his marriage proposal (after the competition fiasco ML had with Cheng Zhi over MC), but I didn't feel he was manipulating her. For me, the MC is not someone who can be manipulated. She is characterised as having a Buddist-like persona, which is tantamount to highlighting how level-headed, straightforward, frank and honest she is. At any point that the ML likely pushed her limits, she was frank about it. And she had no qualms making it known to him. As such, I didn't think or feel that the ML manipulated or pulled a gross behaviour on MC when he asked MC to allow him a cuddle in bed after she first rejected his marriage proposal. Had that been the case and if MC was actually against it, she would have made it known, owing to her straightforward personality.

Now, of course, each to their own opinion. We readers are free to our own interpretation. That's one of the things about reading. We each can draw different interpretations ah.

Also, my goodness, what a big vinegar jar ML is! I enjoyed his vinaigrette moments so much. Apart from the main characters, there were many other characters who left a good impression on me.

For example, there were positive characters like Xiao Zhu (MC's assistant), Li Nan (MC's agent), Lou Ziyu (ML's cousin brother), Kan Yangyang/Li Xiao (MC's actress friends).

Wen Xinyuan (a cute pitiful little autistic boy) - I felt so bad for what he underwent because of his careless mother, Wen Xia; he honestly deserved better parents. Even his father didn't seem like a reliable person, in my opinion. Although he appeared for a very short scene, I felt emotional for him.

In the main characters' family, I liked Old Cheng (ML's biological grandfather), Zhang Rou and Lou Qiang (ML's adoptive parents), Gu Guo'an (MC's father) and Cheng Zhi.

PS: Spoiler Alert! Cheng Zhi is actually a love rival. He falls for our MC. I didn't feel much for him as a character until I read the extras, which related the happenings after a 6 years leap. It felt more impactful, when I read the last extras which was about Cheng Zhi and Bo Huan, that Cheng Zhi also deserved his HEA. And although the author left his story with a relatively open ending, we can still speculate to our heart's content that Cheng Zhi also likely got his HEA with Bo Huan with his proposal of her being his girlfriend. I also like how good of a friend/brother Jiang Nan is. He is someone, that I would say, any good person should have in life. He is a great brother.

Nonetheless, there were also negative characters such as Wen Xia (the little autistic boy's mother who repeatedly attempted to step on MC, but failed thanks to MC who fought back straightforwardly), Jing Zhenzhu and Xu Shuyi (MC's mother who abandoned her and her then poor father for a richer man and her half-sister), Lin Changnan (a fellow actor who used to be a brother/friend of ML before he made his debut) and a few more.

One in particular is obviously the original story's FL, Xue Qinwan (I think that's what her name was or something similar). One thing that surprised me, but didn't shock, is how true was what the Feng Shui Master said about her. It is almost a fact that a Protagonist's Halo is one that literally sucks at the good luck of those around the latter, whether it is the supporting characters or cannon fodders, so as to brighten their existence and which always turn situations into their favour. As that master said, the original FL here had a strange fate where she sucks away the good luck of people around her which only benefit her. She is likely to climb up the social ladder if she is accompanied by someone high or likely to lead a relatively ordinary life if she is surrounded by mediocre/ordinary people. This literally reveals why ML struggled through life and death situations, financial dilemmas etc in the original plotline when he was accompanied by the original FL when he returned to the Cheng family and any other similar incidents surrounding the original FL who benefitted plentifully from the good luck of those close to her while they in turn slowly fell into the abyss of bad luck.

Unlike our MC who has a Koi physique that brings good luck to those around her, especially her man. Now that's an extremely glaring contrast between the OG FL and the MC, that demarcates both.

Cookie cutter ML. Boring MC. Brainless plot. Also the author changed MLs backstory midway and confused the heck out of me.

So if you're looking for the same old same old brainless reading material you can find in almost any other celebrity based, Mary Sue fic, this is for you.

No seriously brainless. If you try to think at all you'll just be confused because the author changes character settings and plots lines Willy nilly half way through.

This novel is very cute and it scratches my itch to read CN entertainment novels. Yes, to enjoy CN novels, I basically just turn my brain logic off to achieve 100% enjoyment (except when it's morally questionable). This is sweet and I love sweets!

FL, Gu MianMian, was originally raised by a monk who nags a lot, thus, she developed a very 'Buddhist' personality where she's relatively calm and couldn't care less about everything around her. The funny thing is that the only time that her personality cracks are when she... more>> gets seduced by ML lol. Knowing that she lacks knowledge in acting and basically got successful initially due to her luck, she learns acting and works hard at it. She is indeed very Mary Sue, though I account it to her godly levels of luck when she transmigrated over.

ML seems to be cold and indifferent at a glance, but he is actually a fake Gaoleng lol. He initially didn't care about FL but still does things for her as she is still nominally his girlfriend. After a course of events, his don't-care attitude gradually turns into tenderness and coaxing.

I also like the supporting characters very much as they gave the novel a more light-hearted tone. Very easy to MTL and just a feel-good kind of novel you can read when you're bored~ <<less
