Translator here~ This is my 5th translation!~ ٩ (ˊᗜˋ*) و ♡

I have a bad habit of judging books by their cover and this was one I wasn’t a fan of the art style, so I kind of put it on the back burner. Even though it's by Umino Sachi, who has definitely become my favorite Japanese BL novelist. But I finally gave in and read it (after seeing that it is rated as her #1 novel on ちるちる website) and man! Surprise, I loved it so here we are!!

Aside from... more>> the art not being my preference, it has quite the age difference and that’s also one thing I’m not a huge fan of but since it’s Umino sensei, I still gave it a chance. The MC, Haruto (25) works as a secretary for the ML, Mikuni (37). He has an unrequited crush on him and one day decides to finally hit on Mikuni at the gay bar he frequents (he’s openly gay).

But what he doesn’t see coming is that Mikuni reveals to him that he’s actually still a virg*n. This is obviously a huge lie but Haruto is... well he’s the actual virg*n and quite gullible. He buys the lie and instead declares to Mikuni that he will help and guide him in the ways of love & dating. So as the summary says, one is a fake virg*n and the other is a real virg*n pretending to not be one.

It’s a cute and wholesome story, with some funny surprises along the way! It also switches POV each chapter. It’s still 3rd POV but we get to see it from both the MC's and ML's sides, so I think it’s quite refreshing. Not a lot of BLs are from the seme’s perspective, so I love it whenever I find one that has it (even if just partially).

If you enjoy characters with gap-moe (I think MC falls under this category) and black belly ML (that’s how he’s described on a JPN site, though I honestly think he’s quite tame) with silly silly misunderstandings and no toxicity, then please give this one a try~ It’s short and sweet, no unnecessary drama. And definitely deserving of being her highest rated novel.
