The eldest daughter of the Yan family, Yan Jinyu, who has been missing for 16 years, has been found. She is brought back from an orphanage by her fiancé, the Second Master of the Yin family.
That year, Miss Yan was 18 years old.

The Yin family was one of the top families in the capital.
Second Master Yin’s full name is Yin Jiujin. People call him Master Nine. He’s 24 years old and has made a killing in the business world.
Master Nine follows his grandmother’s wishes and finds the eldest daughter that the Yan family has long given up on searching for. He brings her home to raise her himself.

Yan in the eyes of outsiders: “Good figure, good looks, high intelligence”
Yan in the eyes of a friend: “The girl-next-door (That’s weird). She’s cold and ruthless.”
Yan in the eyes of Master Nine: “She’s young and inexperienced. She doesn’t look like an 18-year-old at all. She looks wild and evokes a sense of pity towards her.”

Those people who think that the eldest daughter of the Yan family is an unpresentable country girl are all slapped in the face.
Master Nine imagines that the person he brought back is a silly little girl. Gradually, he realizes that the little girl is sometimes quite cool and very strong.
Everyone believes that she has no backing and is just a lonely little pitiful girl. Unbeknownst to them, she has a few companions who have gone through life and death with her countless times. Together, they’ve built an amazing venture

From all dog blood novel that I've read so far, I think this was one of the best out there. The MC was well done made. She was a bit OP but she also had a flaw that made her seemed more realistic.

Spoiler

She was once an assassin and although she was already retired, she still had a hard time to get close to other people, except ML. She wasn't overly warm to her family. Her family also didn't overly pampered her and even felt a bit reserved in front of MC. If not for ML who insisted to send her to school, she might not have any other friends other than her 3 partners. Her change was also very gradual and finally, we could see MC acted more like the true 18-19 yo.

[collapse]

As for ML, he was a bit generic. He was typical domineering CEO who's only warm to MC and cold to other people. But he was also had his own merit.

Spoiler

I like how considerate he was to MC despite his tendency to be jealous of people around her. He wanted MC to have a normal school life so he encouraged her to go to school. And when she finally had a friend, he also let MC interacted more with them.

I know it's actually normal for ML to let MC had her own life but from MC's phycological issue and ML's possessiveness, it's considered a great concession for both MC and ML.

[collapse]

The plot itself wasn't that complex and there's also face slapping here and there although they weren't that exaggerating compared to similar novel. I love how the villain didn't always stayed as villain and some of them really repented and even had a good relationship with MC.

Spoiler

For example: MC's twin sister. She actually tried to harm MC in the beginning but regretted it shortly after that so she tried to protect MC in the last moment. Because of that moment, MC opened up to her sister and they had a good relationship ever since although MC still felt awkward expressing her feeling.

[collapse]

But the story went downhill after MC defeated the final boss.

Spoiler

Suddenly, the author added new canon fodders that only lasted for several chapters. We also got love story about MC's friend but instead of pairing her friend with ready-made single man such as Feng Yun, Huo Xuan, Hei Yao, etc, the author made a new character who popped out of nowhere which a bit disappointing because I also want to see those men had their own happy ending, especially the pitiful 2nd ML, Huo Xuan.

Aside from that, I still enjoy this story very much so I still give it 5 stars despite its many flaws. <<less

If you're trying to find a more reasonable, less face slapping "switch at birth" story, this is it.

MC doesn't care about the family and so don't have plan for revenge.

I really love that MC is OP right away that doesn't need ML's protection, or anyone's. Giving a refreshing read to this kind of story.

I'm dropping cause I could see that I don't really like the direction it's going.

Spoiler

I mean I'm all out for no revenge, but I didn't like that author tried to salvage their sisters relationship. Even if she did nothing wrong and she's most likely acting like that due to her parents, she's turning 18. No one at that age plans to sexually assault their estrange sibling.

EVEN IF she dipped out last minute out of guilt, that doesn't make her good? She's literally just doing what she's supposed to do, how does that make still innocent?
