Starting is interesting.. But it is becoming boring now.. It has the same problem like any other story with an OP protagonist..

They don't speak lower than a million.. Money is like dust.. Whatever MC does, he earns tens of millions.. He became a billionaire just like that !!!

MC is supposed to be a young master of a renowned sect from past era of a different world.. Therefore he should have some etiquette.. But this dude acts like a buffoon..

No, he is not an ignorant kid.. He is downright insulting and... more>> humiliating people.. It is funny sometimes, but repetition of such situations every other paragraph is just monotonous..

Don't know if I can read past first hundred chapters.. <<less

My absolute favorite of Ye Yiluo and funnily enough the novel that make me knew her despite having already read two of her novel previously.

It's another adventure and cultivation with MC deadpan and shameless face all over it.

Unfortunately, it has the issue of ML part being taken over by MC late into the novel.

Anyway, I think there is a sister novel to this one called magic stick coming down the mountain or something, which kinda similar, but I love that one more. Unfortunately it shares the same problem as this... more>> novel but much worse. Lmao. <<less

I love protagonist, he's hilarious. Image negative EQ coupled with absolute lack of shame and a very high self regard. His talk back and reasoning is always logical at least according to common sense of his previous life (cultivation word). Still busy pursuing his future wife as of chapter 85. On the plus side protagonist level up is slow, at level 5 he still finds bullets annoying to deal with.

Story takes place in modern word with a dash of ghosts, three legged taoists and cultivators. Due to scarce spiritual energy... more>> that lead to scarcity of the above the general population is unaware of the supernatural.

5 stars as of ch85 (mtl)

Edit: After finishing novel (mtl) I still love the protagonist. 5 stars as of FIN

At some point they leave earth hence multiple realms tag. <<less

I was really sad when the translator announced not to continue part 2 🥺 I appreciate that he tried his best up to now🤩 and admits not being able to dive further because of terminology. The story was much better to read than mtl and I liked all the characters with their little shortcomings it was fun and easy to read.

I hope someone else will be able to pick up where it was left off I would be so grateful; thank you again Aris and best of luck for your... more>> future endeavours. <<less

I will not be finishing this novel, I am far enough into see where the story is going and determine that it is not worth my time. The novel has some high points and is interesting enough to have kept me on for more than 50 chapters. It is funny and the face slapping are pretty satisfying. The gags hit most of the times and the characters play off each other well enough. The world is flushed out pretty well and is an interesting worldbuilding.

The reason I can't continue is... more>> that I personally don't like the characters and the CP's interactions. The MC is supposed to be transverser and is clueless genius type, which is fine, he does give some good laughs. My problem with the MC is his hypocrisy, if he is a fool just let him be but don't turn around and make him say stuff that makes it clear he is aware and is just being a jerk. The MC would be so much likable if the author will just go all in and make him the blunt honest fool with high IQ but low EQ, instead the MC just comes off as hypocrite and a liar. The ML isn't any better. The ML is a high-cold flower tsundere, but comes off as a blank slate. The ML's tsundere moments fall flat cause there is no contrast. If the ML is suppose to be a high-cold flower on the outside than let him fumble and blush or act like an angry baby to the MC to playoff his lovestruck foolishness, but what we do get is him being lukewarm at best and blank through most of their CP interactions with side-characters doing the bulk of the CP lifting.

Overall, not terrible enough that I will hate but not good enough to recommend. It is kind of tepid like the ML and full of cheap laughs like the MC. <<less

I like this author. Found this to be a fun read.

Spoiler

Translated part is solid.

The MTL isn't bad. If you know the standard realms of cultivation, then those few weird places are easy to process. Like whatever infant realm MTLs as "have a baby". It was funny first time I bumped into it.

Extras were funny.

Overall I'm finding this as a funny read. MC is a genius.

Few gripes, but normal with realm stuff.

Spoiler

I found the Wu Haoqiang character extremely cute. Missed him when in higher realms.

When they venture in Central area, they notice people like to dress up. Our MC wears this gold silk thing with various color sequins. Once the ML's great grandfather's partner comes into picture, we get to see how similar his taste in outfits is to our MC. This had me rolling.

This novel is really fun so far! I've been grinning as I read. I thought it was going to be an average guy pursuing a rich guy, but it's (disowned) rich × rich, but it's still really fun.

How the MC falls in love with the ML is a little abrupt. It made me wonder if he was the type to fall in love easily in the past?

I have had fun reading this novel from the beginning to the extra chapters. This is more like a journey of Ye Fan from being a mortal transmigrated from the cultivation world to a modern alternative setting on planet Earth until his ascension to immortality after discovering the existence of a spiritual root in a transmigrated body.

The romance part seems secondary in this novel but what I like is that throughout the journey of Ye Fan, his Dao Companion, Bai Yunxi, has been with him, together in sickness, adversities, and... more>> in ascension to higher cultivation stages.

If I have to emphasize the depth of this novel, I would say that this is a story of two contrasting characters, intertwined by fate. Their romance commences from the need for survival, mostly in the case of Bai Yunxi, who possesses an ice spiritual root. Self-declared as the medicine of Bai Yunxi, Ye Fan needs the former for him to attain balance in life and ambition and also for him to quicken his advancement in cultivation after being given a second chance to attain a spiritual root during the transmigration process in rebirth.

It should be noted that the purpose for their advancement particularly for Ye Fan is to attain security in protecting Bai Yunxi in the cultivation and immortal realms where Yunxi's constitution is a deeply-coveted material for cultivators and immortals' lust and greed for cultivation advancement.

Moreover, the need for advancement is important for Bai Yunxi's survival. This is the depth of Ye Fan and Bai Yunxi's romance and immortal cultivation journey but the manner the author used in narrating their story is more light-hearted.

Readers might find the story arcs in the middle chapters to be too mundane or bland but I find the need to change my mindset reading the middle chapters considering that the story arcs, particularly when they arrive in the cultivation world, are more focused on advancing their cultivation stages.

Ye Fan and Bai Yunxi's relationship started awkwardly. Ye Fan, after being infatuated during a chance encounter seeing Bai Yunxi from afar, has decided to pursue the latter with great effort but mostly in a shameless manner. The comedic quality of Ye Fan is a standout here, with his tactless, unpretentious, and sometimes devious ways to achieve his goals. He is a jerk actually but a character that one can't help but hate or love depending on circumstances. In my case, his quality helps maintain his romantic sincerity towards Bai Yunxi.

I agree with other reviewers about the consistency of Ye Fan's character throughout this novel. I think it helps in maintaining his sincerity in his relationship with Bai Yunxi, someone of a peerless male beauty that he takes pride in but also a factor for others to covet. There are many incidences in the novel where Ye Fan has to fight against threats about Bai Yunxi.

Moreover, Ye Fan's prowess being a genius seems to be a factor that gains him certain loads of admirers even sensual and romantic ones. However, Ye Fan's sincerity toward Bai Yunxi provides certain security in their relationship, in the case of the latter.

I agree with other reviewers that Bai Yunxi is relegated to a supporting character position in later chapters, serving as the only main pillar of support for Ye Fan throughout their journey in the immortal realms. Although this seems to be a downside, the author still manages to incorporate Bai Yunxi's emotions and reactions concerning Ye Fan's activities.

Meanwhile, most of Ye Fan's decisions needed Bai Yunxi's approval to the point that the latter would often intervene when the former committed potentially grave errors. This kind of dynamics in their relationship brings a new lens of equality to their relationship despite Ye Fan's genius attribute and fortune eclipsing Bai Yunxi's peerless beauty and heavenly spiritual root.

As for the romantic scenes, they are portrayed with nuances and more of showing than telling with a moderate degree of censorship so readers can't expect smut chapters in this novel. There are many scenes in the novel where Ye Fan shamelessly announces that he often double cultivates with Bai Yunxi. At first, Bai Yunxi shows his displeasure when Ye Fan does that but in the later chapters, Yunxi becomes more accepting to the point that he embarrassingly recommends it.

As to the question as to when Bai Yunxi professes his love to Ye Fan, the author uses demonstration rather than the outright expression of saying 'I love you'.

At first, I feel that Bai Yunxi's treatment of Ye Fan is borne out of gratitude considering Yunxi's short life span as a being with ice spiritual roots. Ye Fan is his medicine and so Yunxi must repay the former. It's narrated in the novel how Bai Yunxi becomes more comfortable being with Ye Fan after persistent wooing, a clear contrast during their first interactions where Yunxi showed his disdain toward the latter.

There are many events in the novel, particularly when Ye Fan is in dire straits where Bai Yunxi demonstrates his affection and compassion to his lover.

Spoiler

There is a story arc in which the author expresses the emotions of Bai Yunxi after witnessing the consequences of his ancestor, being in a difficult situation because of a romantic breakup. Bai Yunxi's reaction to potentially experiencing a mental breakdown if Ye Fan leaves him and finds another lover somehow shows his love and dependence on Ye Fan.

[collapse]

I like that the author incorporates this as it brings to light the significance as well as the fragility of the role of Bai Yunxi in Ye Fan's life. Bai Yunxi shares Ye Fan's goal of advancing their cultivation stages and strength to overcome their never-ending challenges in the cultivation and immortal realms.

It's worth noting that with Ye Fan's genius aptitude and extreme popularity (or notoriety) wherever he goes after demonstrating his prowess, he has the potential to create a harem once he gains ultimate power. This is normally the usual consequence, a plot device in many xianxia materials. Thankfully, Ye Fan's absolute sincerity towards Bai Yunxi prevents that from happening.

There are story arcs in the novel where Ye Fan seems to draw another potential romantic partner aside from Bai Yunxi. But his straightforward attitude, declaring outrightly his love only for Bai Yunxi negated the onset of a potential partner replacement.

Spoiler

This is during a story arc with a spoiled brat princess who becomes Ye Fan's apprentice sister with the same master. Somehow, the author manages to steer the narrative, driving that character to become irrelevant during Ye Fan and Bai Yunxi's journey in the Eastern Continent within the Cultivation Realm. I think that's the only character that would have been Bai Yunxi's strong rival in love if the author wanted to retain the plot device wherein the princess may decide to stay with Ye Fan noting her role as an apprentice sister with romantic admiration for his apprentice elder brother. There is a chapter in this story arc where Bai Yunxi also recognizes the princess as a threat. In a certain chapter where the princess and Bai Yunxi have a confrontation, there is a nuance of the princess' desire to demean Ye Fan to change Bai Yunxi's attitude toward his lover. However, it is implied that the princess seems to have a desire to take Ye Fan. However, her view of Ye Fan's relationship with Bai Yunxi changed along the way when she was enlightened about their romantic interdependence.

[collapse]

As to the complaint of Bai Yunxi's bland reception of his romance with Ye Fan, I think Yunxi is more romantic than Ye Fan though the latter initiates the double cultivation more often. Bai Yunxi is an ice prince but he can also be expressive whenever he reacts to Ye Fan's senseless antics. Bai Yunxi's character development can be seen when the couple embarks on their first journey in the cultivation realm in the Eastern continent. Rather than retaining a domineering attitude, Bai Yunxi seems to derive a decision to be an equal partner of Ye Fan, in business and their romantic relationship.

Spoiler

Bai Yunxi covets the position of a maternal role in Ye Fan's family composed of ghosts, spirits, and beasts.

[collapse]

It's not fair to judge the romantic relationship of Ye Fan and Bai Yunxi when they could not finish the novel. There are nuances and story arcs in the novel that somehow demonstrate Ye Fan and Bai Yunxi's resiliency in their relationship against various challenges.

As a romantic pair that has been together for over a thousand years in the novel, Ye Fan and Bai Yunxi must go against the mundane life of longevity after attaining the peak of immortal cultivation in the immortal realms.

Spoiler

This is in the case of Ye Fan who has attained the peak while Bai Yunxi is nearing that realm as implied in the last chapter.

[collapse]

I find this novel to be a hardcore cultivation material integrating BL romance with a certain amount of balance. However, this is also classified as a comedic material with less drama noting that Ye Fan, being a straightforward character, is weary of the family drama even if he is in the midst of it.

This is something I prefer for a BL novel compared to the more popular English-translated Chinese BL novels with heavy family dramas that are more like soap opera materials.

However, my suggestion is for a better editor during the English translation with permission to expound certain chapters to portray more depth in the story arcs, particularly in the middle part where I find those chapters as if I am reading an outline of a xianxia material.

Overall, this is worth recommending for readers who are cultivation fanatics who prefer gay male characters as the main romantic couple.

This has become my number 1 favorite Chinese BL cultivation novel so far relegating The Rebirth of a Supreme Celestial Being to a close second. However, this novel is a rough jade that needs more polishing.

Moreover, there should be an emphasis on the plot of this material. Complaints of this having no clear plot seems absurd. It's just that readers readily criticize the main character mostly because of his shamelessness, not considering the reason why this character has that quality that deserves praise rather than outright disdain.

If the readers uncover the depth of this book, ignoring its outrageous title, then they may likely appreciate its golden quality as a potential masterpiece. <<less

This review has spoilers !

This is legit my most favourite long cultivation novel now! I am the kind of person who reads a lot of reviews and then decides to read the book and to be honest some reviews made me wary of reading this novel and I also get why some people might feel the way they feel about this novel and the characters but after reading the full novel 2-3 times now I can say that I personally have very little to no complaints !

There is this one... more>> review that said that ML (BYX) was too plain and seems to just fade to background in later parts of story - now while I do agree partly with this but I think as the title says the story is about the abandoned son i.e. MC (YF) literally running rampant! I’m not belittling the role of ML but MC does play a major role in the whole plot. And as mentioned few couple of times the ML knows and admits that he knows and accepts that MC is quite literally a foolish and adorable genius and ML never felt any inferiority complex with how much the MC flexes his excellence. On the brighter side I do like how the author has portrayed the ML because the ML in my opinion perfectly embodies “the man behind the curtain”. To start with the ML was a successful second generation boss - the man behind the curtain of a big company then when they go to the cultivation world he becomes the man behind the curtain of the op MC. It was because ML was such a strong character that the MC was able to quite literally run rampant!

There are instances where you can see and feel the importance of ML who stands staunchly behind the MC - one of such situations is when the MC is paralysed because of some cultivation problem in the barbarian continent !

There was another review that said that the way the MC and ML got together was too abrupt and the ML was kinda too rude to the MC all the time - here too I would agree partially because yes I get it the MC and ML in their initial phase do sometimes seem to be really annoying but guys please try and understand that this is bound to happen between two people with totally different cultural concepts and that is what makes it funny. Now on the issue of very abrupt getting together in my opinion it is not like that at all ! While the MC is very openly pursuing the ML and it might seem that the ML doesn’t respond but ML has his little hidden movements and actions which display his adoration and indulgence towards MC !

The author has made a very good attempt at not leaving any loose ends. If you love cultivation level up and such things you will love this novel. The most novel part of this novel in my opinion is the first arc and the extras which take place in the modern world - the entanglement of modern world with cultivation is displayed in very good and funny manner.

I just wish to find more novels like this one with appropriate drama and no annoying second or third leads just simple main leads and level up ! <<less

First of all, I want to tell u guys that I already read this story until the end... I read the story from chapter 1-200++ via translate, and finished the rest via raw.

The first thing that can be said is that the first arc of this story is very genius... the way the author describes if cultivation still existed in the modern world is very refreshing to read.

As for the following arcs, the contents of the story in the novel feel more general and almost the same as other typical... more>> cultivation novels where MC and ML will adventure from one world to another world which have a higher level.

There are times when the story feels very interesting, but there are more moments where the story feels bland, like when some characters appear briefly just for getting forgotten later or when some important characters just disappear without any reason... which the characteristic of long story type cultivation novels like this.

As for the characters, although there's been a lot of debate about how MC characters can be "annoying", I feel it's more a matter of personal preference, like a lot of people like this type of character but at the same time there is also a lot of people hate this type of character, and for the MC partner, he really was well-written in the early arc, but since the story completing the modern world arc, he really doesn't have any role in the story... it feels like he's only in this story as an insignificant extra role, even the scenes of him fighting can be counted on the fingers... The special physical characteristics of the furnace of Bai Yunxi are also never seriously discussed at all in the story, it has only been part of the plot several times.

So yeah if this story just ends in the modern world then it's a 10/10, and for the overall story (Beginning until the end) it's probably a 6/10 or 7/10... anyway event this story is not really have something that surprised after the modern world arc, this story is still really worth it for reading, especially if we just want to read something for fun or when u have a lot of time and want to read something casually. <<less

The initial stage of the novel was okay, but the pacing is something that you can't easily judge whether it's fast of slow.

In some aspects, the pacing is considered fast, specially how the MC earned his money and cultivates.

Meanwhile, it's also slow paced in terms of romantic development between the MC and the ML. It's also uncomfortable to see that the ML doesn't seem to be inlove with the MC at all.

... more>> But it changes as the story progressed.

In the middle part of the story, the ML is inlove with the MC, I can sense that even tho he's an all-out-tsundere, specially when his love was expressed in some micro-details like;
Spoiler

How he massaged the MC when the MC got paralyzed, and how he coaxed the MC like a child during that period of time.

[collapse]

But it's also in the middle stage where you'll doubt MC's love for the ML.

Spoiler

It wasn't even explained if the ML's guess was right. According to the ML's guess, the MC probably approached him knowing that he have a special physique, and he can help the MC cultivate faster in the modern world.

But the ML didn't dwell on that anymore because it's all in the past. But it still makes me so uncomfortable.

[collapse]

In the later stage, the MC just focused on getting stronger and he and ML doesn't seem to have any romantic scenes anymore.

Then I realized, the author who wrote this novel is also the same author who wrote The Spiritual Plant Master. The type of author who's only good at the beginning and loves to write long serialized novels and doesn't even care if the story will turn out bad.

Knowing that she's the author of this novel, it also reminds me of the MC's brother who forcibly established a marriage contract with the phoenix guy. That was so disturbing.

It reminds me of the scene from a novel (written by the same author) about the ML's (of a different novel) grandfather (A ger) who got r*ped and beaten by his other grandfather who got poisoned by aphrodisiac in a secret realm.

After the secret realm closed, the ger grandpa was teleported away, while the rapist waited outside the secret realm to look for him.

Unfortunately, they didn't meet.

But wait, the ger grandpa was pregnant and because of some twist and turns, the grandpa and the grandfather got together again because the grandfather r*ped the grandpa 'again'.

The author loves to romanticize r*pe, abuse and misunderstandings, and that's what I noticed in the books that she wrote. And special mention to the MC and his brothers in this novel; their micro-expressions are a bit villainous. Specially when they “destained” those mortals in the modern world because they're too weak. <<less

The logic in this story is simple, without any twists or turns. In fact it's a bit flat in some places. But I guess this type does serve well in propping up the MC, who is quite the unique one in just sheer eq levels. You can say in any and all human interactions, he would flamboyantly say the very thing that can insult the other the most, friends and allies are no exceptions. To some extent the ML, who he is chasing, has a margin better treatment, but he... more>> still has to deal with the fallout of being around the MC in social situations.

Now this in itself has its own humor, but in regards to the romance, it's far more difficult to accept.

If you're looking for sweetness, you're going to have to wait to grind out even the smallest bit every few dozen chapters.

I'm personally getting less and less invested in our main pairing. On MCs side, ML is cold as hell, frequently insulting to him. It's understandable considering the things MC does around him and too him, but it's starting to reach a point where it's deeply uncomfortable when we're supposed to expect feelings to grow between them (or even have grown already) and his words are still as cold and sharp as ever.

On the other hand, every time they interact, by fallout of the MC's personality and low EQ, ML is always placed in embarrassing or awkward situations due to the things MC does and says.

I just can't see either of them honest to god having a good time in each other's presence. Yes they brush off all of this openly or secretly, but that doesn't mean they actively enjoy the cold retorts, or embarrassment that comes with accompanying the other's socially outrageous actions.

The only time they have anything close to a harmonious time together is when one of them is full on asleep and the other is working. That just doesn't say great things for their relationship to me.

On the MC specifically, personally I feel like the author should have dialed it down at choice moments just so that his behavior doesn't start losing its impact after his 1002th insult. When it's just hammering away again and again and again, not only do you just, get used to it and it starts getting predictable, but his shamelessly and low eq ends up overtaking everything else about his characterization. We can't dig deeper at all when it comes to him because it just become a layer of low eq... and another layer of low eq.... and look at that, another layer of low e -- you get the idea. Moments like "oh he can actually say something right for once" and then slam them with another MC shameless and low eq moment would at least let the readers breath. But the format of this story is just back to back insults coming from the MC. Which in its defense, creates its own unique atmosphere, but can be done a little more effectively. <<less

I will happily read a novel with no real plot or drama, but this one is just not particularly good.

As some of the other reviewers noted, the main comedy is from the MC's spectacularly low EQ, and he also engages in some faceslapping because his appearance is very far from an immortal cultivator. This type of character can be funny, but it's heavily overplayed here and reminds me of retail... In real life, MC would be the kind of guy to hit on and harass female cashiers because he thinks... more>> their pleasant customer service attitude is actually flirting. Actually, he does patronize a female officer in this way later because he has the EQ of a rock, and it's just... cringe. There's also a weird minor thing where he full on slaps his sister? Twice? I'd appreciate his Rated E for Everyone tactics if he frequently slapped any disrespectful person... but everyone else he throws hands are people he's actually fighting. Come on, author. Let him slap more people.

The ML is very cold and his way of reciprocating MC's feelings is more of just passively accepting his fate. It's unpleasant, since the MC does effectively have total rein over the ML's survival, so the ML can't actually fully reject his advances without losing MC's protection and dying. The MC himself also lacks any interesting reasons to pursue the ML past being a face-con, which makes their relationship even more shallow. The author was trying to play on the contrast between a cheery, idiot gong and a cold-faced CEO shou, but the execution is like slamming two Barbie dolls together to make them kiss. There's just no chemistry. In such a simple novel, avoiding consent issues is very important for a sweet relationship, and in any romance, the characters should have more reasons to like eachother past "they're pretty" and "they can protect me."

Regarding consent...

Spoiler

At some point before Chapter 71 where I stopped, the MC does drunkenly physically assault the ML by giving him a bunch of hickeys in public, and the ML's internal monologue establishes that he was unwilling but unable to push MC away due to MC's cultivation. The MC's body's original owner was also falsely accused of r*pe, and it's established that other people think the ML is okay with/dating that kind of person.

[collapse]

It's actually a shame, since some aspects are genuinely interesting... like, the MC's backstory (established in Chapter 1, he was a mortal in an immortal sect) gives some depth to why he's so unreasonable. His talent and his mortal status are intrinsically linked, which gives way to exploring how his arrogance might cover up some more complex feelings; maybe he wishes he was more normal, so his family and friends wouldn't outlive him. Maybe he became so boisterously arrogant and rude to push people away due to his mortal status, and now it's a habit he has to unlearn.

A lot of these issues could be interesting in another novel, and maybe they get more fleshed out past the point I stopped, but the author failed to really give me any hope to keep going. If you want a simple, cute, no thoughts head empty story, you can probably do better than this. <<less

This is quite a fun level-up/poor-to-rich novel! I didn't know it existed until now so I was pretty surprised. It kind of has the vibe of "I Have Medicine" and "Legendary Master's Wife" but mainly in that the characters constantly work their way up the cultivation ladder with golden fingers that shock the world. The unique aspect here is that the MC and ML start off in the human world -- Modern Day China -- where the resources couldn't be anymore baren. I think that the story was best during... more>> this arc but that could be because my comprehension dropped a bit after the TL was dropped.

The tone of the novel is very humorous, and you have a very snarky and narcissistic genius for an MC and a cold but warm-hearted ML. Things to get repetitive after a while (the pattern of making money and improving is very repetitive) but if you enjoy that kind of development and you're just looking for a casual read to spend time on, then this is definitely worth a try!

I didn't finish it mainly because of the MTL quality. As more and more terms and names are introduced, it got a bit difficult to understand T.T Arc 2 (cultivation-world) is still pretty understandable if you're used to MTL. However, Arc 3 (immortal-cultivation world) is not as good. I can only hope that another TL-er will pick up the novel one day ;-;

CHARACTERS: 8.5/10

This is one of those novels where there's a very big cast. I gave the author bonus points for being pretty consistent all while managing to bring to life what must have been over a hundred?? characters.

Ye Fan (MC)

This is a Gong-Protagonist novel! Though, it's not quite your usual Gong-Protagonist (most are indifferent, from what I've seen, whereas this MC is loud and proud.) One can say that the MC acts the way a cannon fodder usually would. However, his luck after death and genius denied his cannon fodder fate LOL.

Bai Yunxi (ML)

An indifferent-shou with a warm heart. He's from Modern Day China, so he kind fades in the background of the MC a lot -- even if his physique is excellent. I think the author could have done more with him. I appreciated him in the Modern Day Arc, but after that, he grew increasingly... unimportant? He could have had more ambition, I guess, and not let the MC monopolize everything.

ROMANCE: 6.5/10

I still give props to the Early Romance, though some may find the stalking-aspect a bit triggering. At least, unlike most novels of this length, the author didn't forget to establish the relationship for a good long while before just jumping into it. And, well, I found the MC so shamelessly pursuing the ML to be pretty refreshing.

SETTING: 9/10

Although I wouldn't say that the novel settings are unique, the vastness of the world is impressive enough for a worldbuilding fanatic like me to go wild with inspiration for a while!

PLOT: 8/10

If you like poor-to-rich development with constant level-ups, then this is for you! I think the pacing is a bit too fast near the end, and it's also a bit repetitive, but overall, I think that it was a good experience.

PERSONAL ENJOYMENT: 8/10

I still prefer "I Have Medicine" and "Legendary Master's Wife" more, but that could be a bias based on the fact that I read those first LOL. This novel has quite a few good points on its own, so who can say! Maybe if I were able to read a complete TL, my opinion would be more improved as well.

RATING: 4/5

I think the novel is worth the read because I love epics and the plot development is my style~ However, if you don't like long stories and poor-to-rich development, this might not be for you. <<less

Unfortunately, this story shares a lot of issues with "The Spiritual Plant Master Transmigration".

First, characterisation. The MCs character is pretty consistent and I think it is strong enough to carry the story. However, the ML's character is too weak and there is no growth. At first, it was acceptable for him to follow the MC since the MC was more familiar with cultivation. However, after hundreds of years, his character is the same. He has no thoughts of self-improvement and follows along aimlessly.

Compared to Xu Muan in "The Spiritual Plant... more>> Master Transmigration", Bai Yunxi got a better deal. However, it is unfortunate that the author always made sure to develop him just enough to fall short of the MC. The only advantage he had over the MC was his spirit root, but even that was about to be eliminated as of 453.

I like an OP MC but this is also a romance novel. Although Bai Yunxi didn't seem to mind that he is eternally inferior to his partner, I don't like it. There is nothing that the ML can do better than the MC which is hard to accept.

The whole story is centred around showing the MC's awesomeness. There is no actual plot. <<less

I've read 6 novels by this author, and all the novels have similar plots such as the stream of upgrades, face slapping and so on. In addition, the characteristic of this author in writing her novels is that especially for novels with Gong as the protagonist, in the early stage of the novel, Shou's presence is strong, but in the middle stage of the novel to the end, Shou's character's presence is getting weaker under Gong's aura, I even sometimes forget that Shou's character exists (because the novel from the... more>> middle to the end is more like a novel without CP with a diminishing emotional line) Shou's character is more like a side supporting character to complete a little plot. <<less

that was fun even if I suffer reading the last chapters on wattpad (MTL version I guess). The journey is nice till the end and the return at the original place makes me LOL often.

not the best but I had a great time reading it. The first volume was very good.

Thanks for the hard work !

At first it was great. A comedy to relax after too emotional readings. But that's it. MC is shameless, it's fun at the beginning, after it's to repetitive, and the author wrote illogical things but that's okay because she wanted to put accent in mc's marvelous cultivation skills. But reading more than 100 chapters like that, it's impossible for me to read more. The fan MC and ML got together like that one day without real emotional reason, is in the same tune as the story's rhythm.
