Shen Meng was a corporate drone at a large factory. While on her way to deliver a contract to a business partner, she was in a car accident.

Just as she was lying paralyzed in bed, feeling miserable, she suddenly awakened a space.

Before she could even be happy for two days, the aftereffects of the space arrived. She started having strange dreams almost every night.

This quickly alerted her. Shen Meng hastily sold her house and car and began frantically hoarding supplies, to prevent herself from starving to death if she really ended up in a place with a shortage of food and clothing.

On yet another trip to hoard goods, she was in another car accident. When she opened her eyes again, she had transmigrated into a sentimental novel, becoming the vicious female supporting character who opposed the female lead and met a tragic end.

Not only was her own reputation ruined, and she died a miserable accidental death, but her four children also became extreme due to a lack of discipline. Coupled with frequent ab*se during their childhood, their psychology became increasingly twisted, leading to tragic fates.

And the man who was always serving in the military, making contributions to the country, was also ambushed, struck on the back of the head with a stick, and from then on, became foolish and idiotic. In the end, he drowned in the river during the dead of winter, clutching the clothes he wore when he married her.

To change her fate, Shen Meng could only clear her name and guide her children towards goodness, because they were all descendants of heroes. Shen Meng did not want to watch them fall into depravity.

Because she occupied the original owner’s body, Shen Meng decided to properly fulfill the original owner’s filial duties to the elders, take care of the children, and lead the whole family towards a prosperous and bright future.

It’s just that the man who had always been protecting the country and whose relationship with her was lukewarm, why were his eyes looking at her with increasing fervor?

This was an overall well done novel. The translation wasn't the greatest but you get the general gist of what's going on. I often felt like the author was determined to create an army of idiots and only highlight humanity's greatest ability to create incomprehensible beings but as frustrating as it was most of the time, the MCs definitely had their halo and it shined brightly! The FL met almost no interference on her path of glory. It was as if every situation she tackled somehow resolved itself. Thankfully, the... more>> author wrote it in such a way that it didn't come off tacky with too much being protagonist halo only. She seriously put in the time and energy to develop her empire. The ML was great nearly from the start. He always supported her and shielded her and was a total simp for her! That cute little perv! Most issues were resolved. The ones that needed reforming got reformed, the ones that needed a chance for a good life got it and those that deserved destruction got it for the most part.

There were a few loose ends that bothered me though:

Spoiler

FL mentioned a few times that Jiaojiao's (JJ) kids bullied our FL's kids and led them to destruction. I have a few issues with that thought because by the time they were born, the FL's kids were already 7-8 years older than them. So by the time JJ's kids were old enough to be influenced and be able to bully to an extent that causes harm, it's like a 7 y.o. Attacking a 14-15 y.o. Incomprehensible! Also, FL, specifically waited for JJ to birth both those kids before setting up their downfall. I can't seem to wrap my head around harming kids before they actually do something. Seems wrong?

Speaking of JJ, the OG FL, I don't understand why there's a trend with some of these transmigration/rebirth themed authors writing about a supposed OG FL that is a horrible person. Like, who would want to read about a greedy, pretentious, manipulative person that already has it good but deliberately causes trouble to others to get what she wants as a MC? The premise that she's FL material is mind boggling.

Next, there's a couple characters that FL mentioned a few times as important figures but they kinda just disappeared from the story after a while. A' man or Chen Heng and his grandfather were especially taken care of by FL and even recognized as a god-daughter to the grandpa when he got his status cleared and was able to return to Beijing. They had this tearful, reluctant goodbye and promises to meet again but nothing!

[collapse]

It was a fulfilling read in that it was nice to see the start, the journey and the horizons at the end but truth be told I was utterly exhausted after reading this. So many scenes of domestic violence, affairs, shrewish behavior and much more. <<less
