Aizawa Seiji, an ordinary teacher, finds himself transported to another world with his entire class.

In that other world, demon kings are running amok and “the power of young and brave warriors” is needed to subjugate them. However Seiji is 28 years old, so he cannot be considered as a “young and brave warrior” and he ends up becoming a burden for the class.

Each of the students is given an ability called a “cheat,” but Seiji’s cheat is called “Repair,” which allows him to fix broken things and for some reason his power doesn’t work.

Seiji and his students went to an ancient ruin to train by killing monsters, but in order to protect the student from the sudden attack of a minotaur, Seiji acts recklessly and is left behind alone.

When Seiji confronts the minotaur prepared to die his cheat activates, and he repairs the “broken android maiden Brunnhilde” who suddenly appeared from the ancient ruins.

Brunnhilde, who has defeated the Minotaur with her overwhelming power and calls Seiji her master, and when they escape from the ruins, they find themselves in an unknown land.

Seiji takes Brunnhilde with him on an adventure through another world, in order to return to his students.

This is the story of a humble teacher and a mechanical girl who travel around fixing broken things.

Not sure to say this, the novel is not bad and the translation is kinda good but the one that ruin everything is the MC. To be specific by just reading 13 chapters is already giving me a headache. As for regarding the MC, all could be said the MC is an idiot teacher. As much that the story progresses the MC is becoming cringy and his intelligence is questionable either going full ret*rd or developing to a decent one.

As to proof of how idiotic the MC can be :

  1. MC tells to the android to not kill people even the bad ones. Why ? Because it's bad. (This guy is bad giving instruction)
  2. MC tells to the android: to eat human food even so far to teach eating japanese etiquette though she clearly stated that she is an ANDROID and her power could be recharge using solar power. MC: eat. Human food. Is good for you and I shall teach human things even though you are an advanced and ancient android. (This guy went full ret*rd)

Here are the tropes you are sure to get:

    • The summoners are the villains. They look like the good guys, but it's made more direct in the manga, they are the bad guys.
    • The MC is the weakest, and "dies", but is saved by his supposedly useless power
The tropes that are subverted from the majority of stories like this:

    • The MC is not bullied nor disliked, so the students are supposedly not dicks, nor is this a revenge story. In fact, the students seem to support the teacher a lot, mainly the Hero guy who obviously is becoming the strongest, thus they are hit hard when the teacher "dies"
    • The titular Mechanical Girl is super strong, but she is not invincible. But she can get upgrades, similar to Megaman X and Power Rangers.
    • The MC remains weak, and has to train hard if he wants to be able to protect himself. Thus don't expect him defeating many enemies. He does get some pretty amazing weapons with time, but think about it like this: If you get a lightsaber, and you fight a Jedi/Sith Master, you, as a normal person, you will lose for obvious reason, that is if you don't end up ending yourself by mistake.
To describe the world:

The King explains the class was summoned to defeat the 7 Demon Kings. The humans summoned can't be returned, and they come with "Cheats", special super natural abilities. However, "Cheats" are not exclusive of isekai, and it's explained that about 20% or 30% of the population are born with these abilities, however, the quality of the Cheats from isekai people are basically "among the best".

- Cheats are described as "abilities capable of breaking the rules of physics", so keep it in mind when some abilities seem too ridiculous, and these superior cheats, at high levels, could be declared a Weapon of Mass Destruction. Also don't mistake Cheat with some sort of Super Magic, they seemingly waste no MP, so they really are Cheat... Although, at least as we see with some of MC's abilities, there is a cooldown time sometimes.

After going into a training session dungeon with the cheat students, they face a super strong enemy, things get out of control, and MC jumps in to save one of his student's cat (Part of her abilities), and ends up sealed along with the boss, and in this sealed room with only the two, his abilities "repairs" the room, revealing its secret.

Upon awakening and being saved by code04 Brunhilde, the "Valkyrie" that was sleeping due to unfinished repairs, she explains that over 100K years ago, there was a war between humans and Androids, and she was an special android created by Humanity's Army to destroy the Androids, and MC's ability was capable of repairing the tools, thus allowing her to wake up again from maintenance. They end up teleporting to a random point in the continent as they tried to leave the room, thus starting their journey.

As can be guessed, this story uses a lot of Norse mythology terminologies, although for some reason, most of the weapons seem to be from Welsh stuff too, such as Excalibur and treasures of Britain.

So this is a story with a lot of "Past playing a large role", as MC eventually also finds out that the summoners were the evil guys all along, and traveling while finding a way to rescue the students that are being trained by the Evil Kingdom, and being led to believe they are the heroes and all the others are evil instead.

Here we also have to deal with ignorant heroes who are actually doing bad things without knowing, and will likely have to face some consequences once they meet the Teacher again who will have to explain everything. But again, they are not a**holes, they are victims too, and quite the powerful victims.

In short, this is not a "Walk in the park" type of story, where MC can live an easy life, and has all the time of the world. There are many failures, and the enemies are constantly one step ahead, so there is a lot of suspense and frustration as the evil side is winning the war even when they lose the individual battles.

I do however say that the ending is quite satisfying.

Another interesting point is the world building, so as already mentioned, there were humans and androids, but in the present day, there are Elves, Dwarves, Beastmen, Fishmen, Vampires and all the stuff, everything in that usual middle ages setting, so how it came to be like this?

Magic is also something more scientific in this story, as is revealed soon by Brunhilde that, in the old war, Magic was something in the Android side, not on the human side.

There is no God or Goddess in the main settings either, religion is also not a topic in this story.

Regarding the main characters, the MC is a teacher, he awakens a Valkyrie, but he treats her as a student, and she calls him Sensei. This treatment of her is relevant to her own growth along the story.

Also MC can initially be a little annoying, as he has the whole stuff about not killing at first... That is, until he is almost killed, and is saved by none other than the Android Girl whom he had told to avoid killing, he is shocked, but he is thankful to her, and recognizes his own naivety. Do however understand that the ones who almost killed him did act as his best friends for many days, so he did not expect that.

I can recognize that as a reader, we see things as obvious, but when I think about someone going isekai, being cared for in the Kingdom thus not understanding the dangers of outside, that was the first time he was directly targeted, because even the Minotaur that almost killed him before had been triggered by others first.

Bruhhilde also acts a lot like a robot, but as other Valkyries appear, we see that they are not like that, and eventually the reason why Brunhilde is like that is revealed, thus MC trying to teach her to act as a human is not an act that is completely lost, and is good for her own growth.

For the most part, the supporting characters are all female, so it may look like a harem story, as there are other female characters who join the party, at least 2 of them likely having romantic interest for MC, but this is not a romance, as their priority is to save that which they lost, for MC is to rescue the students, and the other characters have their own priorities. There are 2 male characters who join the party later too.

Spoiler

Yes, at the end, multiple female characters express their desire to have marry with MC or at least that they want to have his children.

Regarding the translation by GalaxyTL, as I was reading them along with the Raws to check the quality... I can say that they are not high quality.

Yes, if you read only the english version, you think it's all good, but there are a few sentences here and there that were skipped from translation, another terrible thing is the de-personalization of characters, for example, there is a mage girl called Kutone, she is young and very active, usually when she calls MC she always says "Sage-san sage-san", this same repetition can also happens with other words. These do not appear in the translations, and are merely simplified into a simple English sentence.

Other bad translations is related to the relationship between the characters and the MC Sensei, as in, they usually call him Sensei, but sometimes the translation will translate it into teacher, master, or even sir. For example, Brunhilde constantly replies "Yes Sensei", this is basically her catchphrase, but the translation will most of the time do "Yes sir", even though in other sentences she calls him Sensei/Teacher.

So yeah, it may work as a simple novel, but it's missing too many details that are part of the characters personalities.

I do however also point out the Author's own usage of Engrish. For example, Hydra written as "HYDER", or Rook written as "LUKE", in short, the author seems to want to add some English here and there, but likely used MTL to find how to write the Katakana in English, and got bad results. This can also be related to some of the weapons, such as code07 "Britten the Weapons", Britten being a guess of mine, because I have no idea what the Katakana was supposed to originally mean.

So for example, the Kingdom that summoned everyone is, by the Author's own writing, called "Osutorode".

The storyline is rather linear, and at times extremely forced. The MC is the typical braindead type who is frogmarched by the author from scene to scene. He barely acknowledges romantic overtones unless quite literally slapped upside the head with them. Otherwise he just kind of floats thrue the story reacting to outside stimulus. Villians appear out of nowhere to hinder progress, and power ups are so predictable it's almost painful. Overall had to stop out of frustration reading 43 chapters in.
