So, I've consistently read up to about 2000 chapters and then skipped around after that. Allow me to tell you what happens in this entire story:

She starts out weak -> gets strong -> face slaps -> gets stronger -> face slaps -> gets stronger -> face slaps -> she bites off more than she can chew and is about to die -> ML saves her -> face slaps -> something happens and she gets sent somewhere else -> she's weak -> gets strong -> face slaps -> gets stronger -> face slaps -> gets stronger -> face slaps -> she bites off more than she can chew and is about to die -> ML saves her -> face slaps -> something happens and she gets sent somewhere else -> she starts out weak -> gets strong -> face slaps -

Okay, you get the picture.

... more>> It was... amusing? Is that the right word? I guess? at first, in a sort of "watching a flaming dumpster fire of a train wreck going full speed towards a broken cliff" but not surprisingly it gets stale and boring after that.

I honestly wasn't expecting much. It's interesting because my expectations were low to begin with, and what do you know - the story still managed to disappoint. Amazing.

Honestly I probably wouldn't have read this under normal circumstances, and the only reason I did was because:

  1. the manhua adaptation was relatively interesting
  2. the chapters were super short (which is how I managed to blaze through 2k chapters)
  3. i have a lot of free time while I'm working from home and in quarantine
It's like all the factors added up at the right moment which allowed me to turn my eyes onto this story which I would otherwise have tossed into the tr*sh bin to begin with.

I will admit though that her ability is rather interesting. It's too bad that it feels like the story does not have any point to it, or the points get lost throughout all the s*upid meandering around that happens. If there's one thing I really, really, REALLY dislike in longer stories is the MC getting strong then all of it just gets blasted away because of some thing that happens and she has to start all over in a different area again and get strong again or her powers get sealed or etc. it's just SO BORING to me. I'm over it. It's just a dumb excuse imo for authors to be able to extend their stories so they can make more money, but it always turns an otherwise interesting story into a draggy and boring mess. It's one thing for the MC to have to rise through different continents as they get stronger - that is perfectly fine and understandable. But to get blasted away and have to restart from a low point again with a completely different cast of crew? Nah, fam. I hate it.

I think one of the things I hated the most was the absolutely asinine way the author tried to build "suspense". I cannot tell you how many chapters ended with "HOWEVER..." "AT THAT TIME..." "BUT....."

Like... do they not teach creative writing in China, or something? It's always hit or miss quality wise for webnovels, but damn like some of these people could benefit from a creative writing class, or I don't know, maybe even just a f*cking twitter thread of how to not be bad.

Anyways, if you're bored as hell and have literally nothing better to do and want to read brainless face slapping and dumb drama, then ya know, this book might be for you. But if you have limited time, do yourself a favor and pick something else. <<less

This was honestly so painful to read. I don't usually write reviews for novels but the MC in this one was just so annoying to the point that it made me actually depise a fictional character which I know doesn't exist. I thought it'd be cool since the manga was pretty interesting but the novel ruined any hope I had for the manga. Here's why this book is absolute tr*sh and stressed the crap out of me:

1. We constantly get back stories of the MC when she was a renowned... more>> assassin in the past. The idea of that itself is cringy but as we get more flashbacks, it just keeps getting cringier until you're forced to skip past with a huge eye roll. For eg. There was a part where it said her thieving abilities were so good that the most infamous thief's organization said that if MC started an organization herself, they'd be forced to close down. (I can't even get over the amount of nonsense this one sentence contained like- since when did criminal organizations start making public announcements about them being weak????). Another part said she refused to heal the president of a country when he called for her because she was not in the "mood". (So she was a renowned thief and assassin who was nicely invited by the president to cure him???). And this is just the beginning of the cringe train.

2. The villainess is basically just another version of the MC but she's seen in a bad light because she has to be the antagonist in the story. Like I'm not even kidding, the author tries to paint the villainess to be an arrogant character who thinks the world revolves around her and that there's no one better than her. The MC criticizes her for it when the MC is EXACTLY THE SAME??? The MC is the epitome of blatant arrogance and is a self centered bit*h but somehow it is "heroic" and "cool" because she's the MC.

3. The MC treats the ML as ABSOLUTE SHIT. I get that the author wants to show that the MC refuses to be just a vegetable in bed and has a huge inferiority complex in being the one in the bottom, but sometimes it gets so annoying to the point they never have any fluff moments because the MC always somehow wants to 'dominate' the ML but does not have any real power to do it. Moreover, the ML just allows himself to be her boy toy, takes all her crap and even when she's in the wrong, he's just forced to eat sh*t in the name of 'love'. (The whole romance story line is so f*cking toxic).

4. The antagonist hasn't died for 1700 chapters and I dropped this sh*t so idk if she ever will.

5. The MC's belief that she's the sole supreme goddess of the world is highlighted in every single chapter that it makes you think how close minded can someone really be??? Everyone's just waiting to kneel and "swear allegiance" to her because obviously NO ONE else in this world is absolutely worthy ?. She wants to stand at the top of the world so she can officially use ML as her s*x toy, not because she wants to stand "side by side" with him like the other OP FLs (that I actually like). She even said if he didn't love her, she'd just kill him. The toxicity is was too pain staking to read.

6. There's so much more that I hate in this sorry excuse of a novel that can just be described as "Arrogant CEO of Mary Sues beats everyone else in the world so she can proudly keep her male pet by her side and faces no retribution because obviously the world revolves around her"

Gah! I can't believe I suffered through 1700 poorly translated MTL pages just to slowly despise someone that doesn't exist <<less

Read this using MTL... by far I have read 1000 chapters and I can Unhesistantly say that this one is a gem among our usual xianxia novel troupes...

ML IS NOT BORING AT ALL❤❤❤seriously though this is rarely seen..a ML who is an important part of plot and doesn't disappear for months or years... when he had to turn into a miniature version of himself l, he was literally selling meng to MC Unknowillingly... making MC's heart melt every single time...

As usual our MC is a pe*vert genius who can literally... more>> do anything perfectly from alchemy to inscriptions BUT SHE WORKS HARD FOR IT... she doesn't depend on luck... isn't a brat or a narcissist... she is not exactly sweet... but is ambitious and hardworking... can preserve through anything... isn't a hypocrite and doesn't change her morals every next day...

NOT EVEN A SINGLE ARC WAS BORING... seriously guys...u gotta read this one❤❤

BTW one thing I totally dislike abt this novel is that supporting characters r not flashed out... they can't support support MC rather they r a burden.. none of them can actually help out... so MC's gang is basically useless

so basically she has xray eyes.. actually much more advantageous than an Xray... she can escape without alerting anyone... can even see meridians, dantian and basically every single thing inside and outside of human body... nothing can escape her eyes... she has a photographic memory...

BTW this scarlet pupil cheat of hers allows her to see through even physical attacks and soul attacks.. even confiiguration of weapons, purity inside alchemy potions and elixirs.. basically everything...

This novel is worth giving a try

The novel is nearly unreadable, so much gobbledygook and pointless reiteration, over a Mary Sue plot. I kept asking myself why?

While the novel is hot garbage, there is a manga that;s a good 3.5 stars and obviously fares much better than the novel. (It could use some editing and needs an axe taken to some elements, but it manages to be enjoyable.

TLDR: Skip the novel give the manga a shot, be prepared to drop quickly

I can't say it's bad like some other people in the reviews, but it's honestly not that good.

Just your typical female protagonist, good at everything, and arrogant as f*ck. Of course, there are places where the MC is actually quite amusing or fresh to read, like when she refuses to be "dominated" by the ML, or when she used her pupilary skills or whatever you call them at first. But it just gets more boring and annoying after I don't know? 1000 chapters? Even after 2500+ chapters the FL still... more>> is in that "I like you and I'm gonna flirt with you whenever I see you but I'm gonna run away from you at the same time" state. And the FL has accepted the ML's help so many times already, without saying a word of thanks. Repaying someone for their good deeds is the most basic one out of Chinese morals. I'm not saying she should fall in love with him because he helped her, but she could at least say thanks? And she takes it for granted for Gosh's sake.

The face slapping is also quite annoying, after all even when the MC cleared the Royal Family's treasury and left almost NOTHING behind, they still manage to survive??? The novel is full of weird plot holes and bad characters, so it's quite annoying to see the villains appear everywhere.

Well, besides that, it was enjoyable at first, and got boring starting from the middle. You can go ahead and read this book. It did make me quite interested in the first 500 or something chapters, but after that reading it was just a way of wasting time. A typical novel with a "strong" MC, not bad to the point where I can't stand it, but its not really good. Sorry for the bad English and have a nice day. <<less

This novel holds a special place in my heart. This is one of the worst things I have ever read in my life, period. To explain it in one sentence, it would be "a cringy fanfic about an arrogant Mary Sue that gets everything handed to her with no effort". This is a novel that succeeded in making me utterly despise the MC even though she's just a fictional character.

The good:

The bad: in short everything, but let's go over it one at a time, shall we?

- The story: ... more>>

a c*ntasaurus rex gets her soul transported to a cultivation world into a body of a generic innocent girl who was framed by another girl and left to die. While running away from assassins, she finds an injured guy (ML) healing his injuries in a pond. MC throws herself at him like a sl*t, touches his body and d*ck while using the pond to heal her injuries before running away, leaving ML pissed off.

She then 'accidentally' finds a magical pig that makes a s*ave contract with her (it's supposedly an OP demonic beast, wow such shock), gets chased by ML, falls into a hole, the hole turns out to be an inheritance ground of an OP sect from ancient times (wow such shock), grampa spirit just hands her an OP technique and sword before peacing off, and then MC immediately after finds a cub of an OP spirit beast (wow such shock), cures ML's meridians for no reason, comes home and then faceslapping arcs start.

- one thing you'll notice is that the first arc is literally just ripped out of Mesmerizing Ghost Doctor, only a lot worse in every regard. The entire Black Market arc, building army part, the MC calling herself 'Pupillary Ghost Doctor' and so on... One of the worst parts is that MC spares the evil antagonist bit*h so many times it's way past believable. The antagonist keeps returning like Team Rocket for over 5500+ chapters because the s*upid author doesn't have the brain capacity to invent a good villain.

- The antagonists: 99% are just cannon fodder for faceslapping because we always have to know how 'badass' MC is. The main antagonist is a c*ckroach that survives because the author says so, just so that she can create some trouble and then be "killed off" again before she's inevitably brought back.

- The characters: characters? What's that, is it edible? The only thing I see here are cardboard cutouts, plot devices and exposition dumps in human form whose names I don't remember.

- The ML: the author just ripped off the ML from Mesmerizing Ghost Doctor and changed his hair to brown. A mu*derous, possessive, s*upid, 'cold and stoic', psychopathic stalker that falls in love with MC because he misunderstood her s**tty actions as her being in love with him.

In spite of how s*upid this guy is, I actually feel a bit sorry for him. Poor guy not only has sh*t meridians, yet he gets sexually assaulted by MC on a daily basis and thanks to her sluttiness his subordinates think he's gay (she was masked as a guy). He also has two bodyguards that are not only the most idiotic, incompetent, brainless idiots, they are also gay for each other. Why the hell does he still keep them around, throughout the entire story these two never completed a single assignment he gave them.....

- The yaoi subplot: Why? Why does this exist? Where is the Yaoi tag? It's just pointless word count that no one cares about. Did the author think this was funny? Because it's not, it's annoying. Speaking of that....

- Gay jokes: Oh I love me some gay jokes! Haha, so funny, so oversaturated, so annoying and s*upid, but it's funny, right? NO. IT'S NOT. IT'S INSUFFERABLE.

- The pig: the only voice of reason in this story that gets mistreated by MC because he calls her out on her negative IQ decisions. My favorite character and only guy I like and pity.

- The MC: Now this... This is the most Mary Sue character I have ever seen. f*ck Rey, THIS bit*h is the biggest Mary Sue in existence. Everywhere she goes she always has to be the best, get the best treatment, be the biggest badass, be the most beautiful woman and the smartest doctor, have the most handsome and OP boy toy-ahem, I mean boyfriend.... While at the same time being the most arrogant, stuck up piece of sh*t with such delusions of grandeur that young masters could only admit their inferiority. If you call out this woman at being dumb, hypocritical or in love, you better be prepared for being tortured because that's what's going to happen to you.

She acts just like all of those sluts in other novels that throw themselves at young masters. Every time she sees the ML she either throws herself on him, grabs his d*ck or goes in for a kiss like some whore. ML misunderstands this and tries to pursue her, but she then makes herself the victim and accuses him of trying to capture her. After escaping, she masks herself and decides to sexually assault ML some more before running away again.

Her backstory is s*upid and unrealistic and makes me feel zero emphaty for her.

She was abandoned as a child in a cardboard box in the middle of the street because of her red eyes. While the pedestrians walk by and insult her like they live in medieval ages, a random hobo picks her up and says "Alright you live with me now."

And then she became the world's best assassin/doctor/thief/ret*rd because of her bullsh*t eye powers that are never explained.

Her knowledge in alchemy, meridians and arrays is straight up never explained. She didn't get that from her memories upon transmigration, how the f*ck is she so knowledgeable to the point that some big shot elder sucks her c*ck??? She's so perfect yet idiotic it makes me sick to my stomach.

- She uses no poisons, no assassination techniques, just whips out a sword and yells dumb sh*t at random idiots before being saved by ML.

- The cringy backstories about how MC was the best thief on Earth, this had to have been written by a dumb teen. There's no way an adult person can be so s*upid.

- Oh yeah, I forgot that MC was supposed to be blind, right? Well don't you worry, because her magical bs eyes allow her to see black and white, AND she also finds a technique that allows her to see a few hours every day. To her, blindness is just a small inconvenience, you'll even forget that she's supposed to be blind.

- It's funny how the author tries to build suspense but it always fails because the ML is always there to save the ungrateful piece of sh*t MC from any strong enemy, and then MC takes it for granted and goes off to provoke someone else for no reason.

Overall, tr*sh probably written by a teenager. Even if you're bored, there are so many novels out there that this tr*sh doesn't deserve to be read at all. <<less

I read the manga and it is EXTREMELY similar to Mesmerizing Ghost Doctor--like really, it's like the whole beginning of the plot was taken and the part about being blind was added (obviously there are some other differences too)... I thought it her being blind was cool but I don't think it added much to the story--currently--maybe because I'm reading the manga and it doesn't really going in-depth about the eye ability.

Anyway this story is about face slapping, Bunch of sl*t targeting, scheming, try to kill and torturing MC because of a guy who they think it their ideal perfect man. Oh give it a rest please.
