Well I am in like ch 380 in raws, the story is good, there is nothing that you may dislike. This book doesn't offer any unique aspects the plot is similar to BTTH, he has something that a powerful organization wants it and has a girl friend who comes from powerful background. In BTTH, his master was powerful when alive and very knowledgeable but here this guy even though he has experience he is no where comparable at least now. A good read I didn't regret reading this. Now I will give this a 4.5/5, we'll see how it goes and change it later.

I came back after 2 years.. I forgot how many cha I even read. but sure I dropped it midway... reason?

Yeah as I told you, nothing unique, but nothing annoying. After reading certain number of novels.. it's pointless to read one which is predictable.

32 Chapters in and already getting disappointed. So far the author has shown a tendency to draw out fights for no reason. This should be to increase word count as this web view platform novel and if I remember correctly they get paid by word count. I mean does he really need to spend half a chapter talking about the main character using his movement technique to dodge enemies he could instantly defeat? Second off is the author is already showing a tendency for lazy writing. Early the main character... more>> breaks through from 4th to 5th stage in ten days. The author then goes on to write such a breakthrough in half a month could already be seen as good. Then a couple chapters later super genius girl is introduced having broken through from 3rd to 8th stage in just 2 years. I understand she is supposedly a great genius but their has to be a limit right? Unless she also has a martial God bloodline, a super master guiding her or found nautal cultivation environment (Yin Pond) like the main character? As for the martial god bloodline that's doubtful because the main characters super master is surprised that someone (main character) with a martial God bloodlines still exist in a world that has weakened to the point were their are only a couple martial saints. I'm just hoping the author doesn't pull the cliche bs move of somehow having her keep up with the main characters cultivation speed. He was able to increase from 3rd to 7th stage in 2 months, with such a difference their is no way I can thing of in which the author could justify such as thing. One thing I really like however is the relationship between the main character and his elder brother. Instead of the usually hatred between siblings his elder brother has always cared for him and protected him. Even before his elder brother new of the Martial God bloodline he never once resented how when main character was born his treatment (resources received and training focus from father) decline, now going towards the main character. Its not just a for the greater good of the family thing either he truly never felt anything but love for his younger brother, which is really quite rare in these novels. It only gets worse when the author has him live the sect. He goes from being chased down from some Luo family to a couple chapter healing to then being chased down by some s*upid mercenary group. Not to mention the bs of the mention the mercenary group leaders son who has is said to have no combat experience and is only only 8th True Martialist surviving and attack with from the main character with only heavy injuries. Keep in mind at this point the main character is 1st stage spirit martialist and he one shot 9th stage true martialist a few chapters earlier. The author even wrote before the attack he wouldn't and didn't show mercy so how the dude is alive is beyond me. Either way I really don't understand why Xuanhuan novel authors think a story were most of the time the main character is running because of bs needs to go to dangerous life & death places alone for progress that don't apply to any other cultivator but themselves is a good idea. Especially when he already has countless enemies the want to kill him and they will always find out he left his sect and is vulnerable through some spies. Either that or a jealous idiot who contacts his enemies or highers assassins themselves. Oh and as I though early his former fiance ends up in 3 years reaching a ridiculous cultivation level. Apprently it now turns out she has a special physique that no one new about. These 7 types of special physique are so that they have greater cultivation speeds than the 9 bloodlines. As for combat power supposedly they are weaker but only if one doesn't full awaken their bloodline, which almost no one does. Also she can easily defeat a 7th stage king even more easily than main character. The problem with this is the main character needs not only his bloodline but his body cultivation 4 gates open to do so. Also not only is the main characters body cultivation technique above heaven grade so is his Qi technique her techniques on the other hand are only heaven grade. So the main character who cultivates both Qi and body rather that just Qi like her each with a God level techniques he is weaker. Also his bloodline is only one stage away from full awakened and her cultivation realm is the same. After he breaks through the 5th king he fights her in the tournament and he wins after a difficult fight. I honstely can't understand why the author thought anyone would enjoy watching him win only because his cultivation realm is higher.

Spoiler

The author completely disappointed me when he allowed the main character to being forced to marry a women of a royal family. If this was anything else he would fight back and not allow himself to be pushed around but since it involves a beautiful women he just accepts such treatment. His excuse is that since the women he likes is pushing for this (its his girlfriends friend, and that friend has a powerful family that can protect him) he will just go through with it but that reason is a load of bs. Then their is a trial land and in it is are steps the out pressure on the soul body. However the author once again decides to bs it and have his former fiance gets to the 25th step. This wouldn't be a problem if her Cultivation wasn't a major realm lower (main character is a Martial emperor and she is martial king) and the fact the main character at the 25 step bones are creaking. How could a non body cultivator with a lower cultivation reach a step someone who's body has reached stage 7 in a god level technique bones creaking? Even then the main character can only reach step 30 without relying on the pressure of his bloodline. Oh another thing is the author can't decided on whether the main character of a genius or hard working / persistent. Don't get the wrong he can be both and most of the time that is the case. However one s*upid thing the author does is during breakthroughs sometimes the main character will continue trying to hit the barrier countless times even throwing up blood and injuring himself. This coupled with how his body cultivation technique makes his body as strong as those more than an entire major realm higher makes it seem like his talent is a joke. Their are a few people who have higher cultivation from the rich families supposedly due to having plenty of resources. However they still have to breakthrough the barrier as well and resources don't help with that. Supposedly the main characters talent his higher than them so how are they with far weaker bodies cultivating so fast when even he sometimes barely breaks through the barrier because of being persistent and having a strong body? The author already has shown how hard working he is so this breakthrough persistence is actually just lowering the quality of the novel as it just doesn't makes sense. I mean 45 days of continously trying and failing to breakthrough the barrier from Martial Saint 2 to 3, is this a joke? Lastly forbidden demon techniques. They are honstely the most ridiculous and dumb addition ot the novel. One of the main characters enimes loses to the main character, so he practices a forbidden demon path techniques. Basically the guy has to go through a period of pain that makes him feel like his hearts being eating by bugs or something, every so often (don't remember time period but its not everyday.) This had led the guy to breakthrough from peak low saint (3) to peak high saint (9) in just 6 months. The main character went through some body tempering bath before that requires a body and soul storng enough to do. Not only that its consider on of the most painful methods and all he got was a single realm breakthrough (it says it makes him closer to dao of heavenas it made his body perfect but as long as you become a martial god you get that anyways. Sure becoming a martial God if difficult but he already has a dao seed which makes him guaranteed to due so very easily and fast.) To show how ridiculous that is the main character used some special resource to breakthrough martial saints 3 to 6 in 3 months (sure much of the time was collecting it but still.) This resources is so precious even the greatest families only have a 100 pieces every generation. The main character was discovered something no one new that one develops an imunnity to the stuff after using so much of it. Yet with this demon technique all he this antagonist has to go through is lots of pain to make rapid progress. The main characters body cultivation techniques causes lots of pain every day when he cultivates. This is just a way to keep people of the same generation relevant as by now he has surpassed them all. The main character ha a the op broken dao seed but without enormous talent merging with it would fail plus it took an expert 1, 000s of years to make it. Yet this forbidden devil path technique is easy to use and readily available with the only side-effect something most high level secret Techniques already have. Somfar no side-effect like limiting his future has been mentioned which is ridiculous. Also the main character has some mental issues. Their is a situation were he is forced to trade (its more like extortion (she threatened to alert his enimes if he didn't agree)) certain things to some women, who is by far the most annoying character introduced yet. Anyway afterwords he believes he owes her to many favors because she left a formation that hid him from enemies? If anything that writes of the previous situations of forcing him to trade at most. Not to mention what she got out of the trade for surpasses what he got in value, considering one of the things she wanted was his True God blood which only he has in the entire world anymore. Even then his enimes find him and once again he almost dies only to just escape for the umpteenth time. No doubt if this has been a man (instead of a beautiful women) he would become life and death enimes, killing her in the future...

Later on the author gives his brother a ridiculous power up than has no explanation. The brother goes to some deadly place for a year and some how comes out absurdly powerful without a single leap in cultivation realm. He hasn't comprehend any of the five element or any other means of improvement other than supposedly constant life in death leading to a absurd power. I mean he easily killed a enemy with just a normal attack when it would require the main character to use one of the five elements to due the same at the same cultivation realm as the main character. Since when did just constant fighting increase the power of someone like this? Not to mention the main character has the more powerful chaos qi, is also a body cultivator (and the technique he used allows him to open the 8 gates and multiply his power) which raises his strength even further and he has the True God bloodline which multiples his power even further... Am I the only one who thinks something isn't adding up?

Spoiler

The authors ends up complete runing his novel with that antagonist who used the bs demon transformation technique. It feels like he is one of those protagonist with a cheat system in those popcorn novels getting abilites he shouldn't be able to. They finally end up fighting and the it ends up a draw. Somehow he (a human) ends up with a demon bloodline at least stronger than the 3rd strongest demon race members same generation. The demon bloodline comes from their ancestor the Demon god (an equal total he True God bloodline ancestor), the Zhan family (not the current fake one) created a way that could give a fake (incomplete (can only can reach rank 10)) version of their bloodline to fellow humans, yet a simple technique of planting worms in his heart can give such a powerful demon bloodline to a human which is a completely different race? Yes the 4 divine beast did give their bloodline to humans but that was done by the bloodlines progenitors, the divine beast themselves not through a technique... Even then this is bs the main character got the inheritance of the each of the divine beast, and the true God (sure he hasn't used the true God one yet but its still that shouldn't matter considering the above.) He some how comprehended some the 5 elements (and even how to fuse two) which is impossible for half step pure yang cultivators without help from someone like the divine beast (the main character got help from the divine beast inheritance (and a chaos seed natural treasure, which is why he was able to comprehend the 5 elements so fast and learn how to fused two...) Then it turns out he got the demon gods inheritance which just sounds ridiculous. The True God who fought for the humans to free them from ens*avement wouldn't let humans without his bloodline try to get his inheritance (only his descendents.) Yet the demon god who looked down on humans for being born weak and wished ens*ave all the human race allowed a human to be his inheriter? It feels like the author couldn't accept writing a non human powerful antagonist...
