This is pretty sub-par. Like, I've read worse, but that's the most positive thing I can say about it. It has pretty much all the things I don't really like in a novel:

  1. Unwanted nationalism. I haven't encountered any real racism so far (like I said, I've read worse), but the three main super powers in this alternate-earth are essentially China, Japan, and the United States. Guess who the antagonists are? Really, if I wanted to hear about naval tensions in the Philippines I'd watch the news.
  2. MC's first purchase is a car. Why is it that in Every Single Chinese golden finger novel, the first thing the rich MC does is buy a pimped out car? I mean, I don't really have a problem with people having a car fantasy, and buying a new car can make sense. But it's ALWAYS the first thing they buy. It just makes me roll my eyes when I read it.
  3. Super rich family and friends. Like, does he even need an Island Development system? He is super duper rich without it. The first time there is anything his system can't do he just calls his grandpa. If there is somehow anything else he needs, good thing he has a famous, highly placed friend that can help (Like his lady friend, who, at a young age, is somehow editor-in-chief of National Geographic and a major social media influencer. All while having rabbit b**bs!) I mean, I know we read this genre because we like the MC being OP and it's wish fulfillment, but frankly, this is just boring.
  4. Unwanted erot*c descriptions of female characters. I didn't really want to read two paragraphs comparing the chest of the first woman he meets to "plump rabbits." (Are they furry?) And thank you, author, for being sure that anytime she comes up in the story, it is mentioned that she has a "hot body." I might have forgotten otherwise.
  5. Harem. Barely two dozen chapters and we've already got Ms. National Geographic, a famous actress ex-girlfriend, and a hot secretary. I'm sure there will be more. Ugh.
