I put the 5 star for the writing style.

Also just to highlight, this is sequel of Huai An, which pretty much felt as one complete story. So I decided to review both of the stories together. Anyone reading this sequel first may not be able to understand wholeheartedly without reading first part as well. So if you didn't read Huai An yet. Go read it first and then come back for bittersweet happy ending.

My personal test says "don't read such novels anymore, your poor heart cannot tolerate tragedy and dog... more>> blood romances ". It was indeed rollercoaster of emotions. And I was sooo angry at general MC. Like boy, can't you stay still and let your emperor ML take care of you huh?

MC - personality is stubborn op who was described as clever and strategic person but in fact, his plans and ideology only caused harm to him and ML at the end of every arch. He wants to sacrifice himself in bottles no matter what. He fought for his country and gave his heart to his first lover but was betrayed by both. It wasn't worth it even from the point of foolish person. Even ML who was described quite foolish in front of MC understood it perfectly but couldn't dare make MC even more unhappy about those events, so he even took him back to his homeland. (I also wouldn't ever want such lover who acknowledges of his love but still goes to give away his life to battle and death senseless, while you only need his wellbeing and happiness, it is torturous to worry non stop like I can understand why ML became paranoia. And its thanks to MC.)

MC urged ML to get married to a princess of neighbouring country so emperor can relief drought in his own country. Emperor agreed with so much grievances. Thus after many bottles MC showed up during emperors wedding evening at the gates but never made it through. After emperor find out abt incident he developed trauma from it. And never close his empire's gates for following three years. Nor was happy if not sick. That part was written heartbreakingly so even I felt anger towards MC for making such scrupulous decisions

ML - was not an angel as well as seemed in my above description. He tortured and even r@ped MC at the beginning as a form of torture. But throughout his "had to do as an Emperor " actions can be seen his foolish and soft hearted character. He was not usual type of overbearing cold Emperor. But rather he held soft spot for MC even knowing MC had lover. Surprisingly he was not ashamed of bowing in front of MC. At some point he even saw him as a mother figure. He was willing to give away his everything just to be by MC's side, and never held MC back or confined (after falling in love with him) knowing that it will only hurt MCs pride that he always thought MC was an eagle of northernsky that freedom was his only source of happiness. Isn't it enough to call it love? So far he is most soft hearted Emperor- towards his lover oc.

Overall the story was short and I finished it in one day (prequel and sequel). A little more of plot and little bit of $€× scenes and inters*x characteristics are used. Plus mpreg with constant miscarriages. So be aware about these things before reading. <<less
