On her 29th birthday, her husband passed away.

And now, Sa-hee was standing face to face with him again.

She had returned to two years ago, the night she first spent with him.

“Confusing, isn’t it? Why are you crying?”

“…I’m sorry. It’s nothing.”

“Ms. Yoon, I’m not s*upid. Don’t think you can fool me.

Are you hoping I’ll just let this slide?”

It didn’t matter how this could happen.

Sa-hee simply wanted to protect Ji-Hyuk.

To do that, she needed to change his fate—

Even if it meant helping him marry another woman instead of herself.

“Be honest with me, Ms. Yoon.

I’m asking if you regret sleeping with me.”

But with those same eyes that once dominated her,

With that same voice that made her heart race,

Ji-Hyuk bound her tightly once more.

Cruelly familiar.

“I’m not so out of my mind as to pretend nothing happened after we slept together.”

“Vice President.”

“Let’s give it a shot. Let’s date.”

A different situation from before, but the same confession.

Thank you for sharing this wonderful translation! The beginning was so sad, and even though it's just a novel, I was really glad that Sa-hee and Ji-hyuk got a second chance. I haven't finished reading yet, but I've already fallen in love with the story.

The FL wasn't perfect, but she loved the male lead so much. It was heartbreaking when he passed away on her birthday, and everyone, even her money vampire brother.... looked down on her. When the story shifted to their second chance, I was happy to see... more>> her allow herself a brief moment of hope, even if it felt like a delusion.

I'll come back to update my review once I finish, but I can already say I highly recommend this novel! <<less

I don't understand the point of going back in time and making the same choices... after telling yourself you're going to walk a different path. I don't understand Sa-hee's decision to continue working as Ji-Hyuk's secretary, after fearing that their relationship could eventually lead to his death. I don't understand her getting back with him after helping various women chase him. I don't understand her shyness during their intimate moments or her surprise at seeing how well-endowed Ji-Hyuk was when she was previously married to him. I don't understand why... more>> even after returning to the past she was still willing to pay her brother's debts, considering he taunted her when her husband passed. None of Sa-hee's decisions or reactions made any sense to me.

Spoiler

Also if you're going to have a 2-month contract relationship, wouldn't it make sense for the relationship to be a secret? The day after they agreed to date, they got found out by a love rival and Sa-hee told her best friend. If you're committed to breaking up after those 2-months, why spread the news about your relationship with your boss? Of course, Ji-Hyuk's mom finds out and just like in her previous life, the mom does not support the relationship and wants them to break up. I honestly don't know how they got married previously, because for some reason, in both lives, Sa-hee feels this compulsion to do as his mom says. In this 2nd chance at life, she considers clinging to Ji-Hyuk for like a brief second but then folds under the pressure and her fear. Again, why even restart the relationship if you aren't ready to fight for him? Another thing that drove me crazy is Sa-hee's low tolerance for alcohol. She knew she couldn't drink much and yet, she always drank past her limit and wound up in avoidable situations. For ex. her love rival got her drunk and was able to get Ji-Hyuk's secret home address from her due to her inebriation.

Then they were in a car crash, which scares Sa-hee who believes it was a warning for her, so she becomes recommitted to pushing Ji-Hyuk on to someone else and breaks up with him. After Sa-hee sort of tries to commit s*icide in HIS bathtub (even though she has her own home), thinking the powers that be would make her wish of Ji-Hyuk falling in love with someone new come true, Ji-Hyuk saves her and agrees to move on. Fast forward, we find out that he too was sent from the future and they both decide to not let fear get in the way of their 2nd chance at happiness.

[collapse]

The couple had this back-and-forth thing going on and then when they finally decided to stay together, they just had a bunch of s*x. I don't mind smut, but the final chapters were purely s*x scenes. I just skipped those chapters because by that point I was just bored. It felt like a waste of chapters, especially since the problem with Sa-hee's money-hungry brother was never properly dealt with and I didn't really see any character growth in Sa-hee. I don't feel like her experience changed her in the slightest, so again besides reuniting the couple, what was really the point of going back to the past? <<less
