This is such a heart-fluttering, sweet and very touching romance. An adorable second chance rebirth that is very reminiscent of Please Confess to Me, with the FL only realizing the ML's feelings after he died in the first life.

I've been into cinnamon bun MLs these days, those that are not domineering but just so simp for their FLs. Regardless of their flaws and low self-esteem, they're so adorable and so endearing to read. The ML having no confidence but a lot of insecurities, carrying so much baggage emotionally and... more>> mentally and the FL knowing all of that and deciding to be the persistent and proactive one, they are just a perfect match, complementing each other.

The thing that just doesn't work for me in this novel is the way the author trying and failing to be poetic. It kind of annoyed me at times with how much the weather, the wind, the leaves and the sunlight is mentioned, as if trying to create this romantic ambiance, but it only interrupts the narration.

Overall, I still liked this one a lot. It has a slight drama but not in a dramatic way, very heartwarming and the focus is more on the character and relationship development. <<less

Y’all this was really simple and sweet.

This is basically Please Confess to Me by Grumpy Crab if the FL was reborn in high school and not after her and the ML we’re already married.

Not much happens in this story in terms of external conflicts. There are some side characters at school who try to bully the FL (out of jealousy) and ML (out of a superiority complex) but they get taken care of pretty easily. The biggest struggle for this couple is really the ML’s cripplingly low self-esteem. Poor cinnamon... more>> roll is an orphan who’s neglected by his uncle and aunt who also stutters so he’s used to being treated like he doesn’t matter. The FL was nice to him once and he fell fast and hard in both lives. In the first life he wasn’t able to tell her he loved her until right before he died so in this new life the FL does everything she can to make him feel loved. Even so, at the bottom of his heart he’s always worried that he’s not good enough for her and that she’ll leave him. Poor baby cried when he thought she went on a blind date. Favourite part about him though is that he’s not an obsessive psycho yandere who’ll unreasonably try to keep the FL with him or will literally kill anyone who hurts the FL. There is a hint of darkness to him but it’s within a normal range I think. Like he fought this guy who was scheming to hurt the FL. He’s still on that list of MLs I want to pat on the head and give cookies to though lol.

Anyways, if you’re looking for a cute and uncomplicated read check this out! <<less

Gu Miao is probably one of the best ML out there and I've read TONS of romance novels, including bxb.

He's a total dream, honestly. Understanding, caring, hardworking, yet he's highly insecure and thought of himself as unworthy to MC. He's not the type to declare his love to the world, but always taking care of MC secretly. It was a really heartwarming read, seeing his feelings being reciprocated. ML needs MC, and likewise, MC also needs ML. They're always doing the best for each other and trust each other. Their... more>> relationship is so healthy and I can't help being jealous (lol). I mean, you see overbearing and cold MLs so often and that's what makes Gu Miao so endearing.

Ugh. I've reread this 3 times and now I'm itching to read again... One of the best reads I've had. No overly complicated misunderstandings, dog-blooded drama whatsoever. Just MC and ML supporting each other. <<less

PROTECT THE ML

I swear I love this book. It sometimes made me just gush out like a proud mother and sometimes made me so distressed at our ML who is so insecure but for a good reason. It just made want to drag the MC to hug him. The relationship was so pure and it was written extremely well. The MC was also well developed comforting the ML and understanding his feelings. Both of them are perfect for each other and it makes me cry QQ.

Honestly, this novel wasn’t really my cup of tea, but its still a really good novel.

Not much drama, and the drama (bullying, bad communication, jealousy) were resolved nicely and most of the time, in mature ways. It’s enough to see their growth in their relationship and how the ML grows to be less “I’m unworthy of her”.

I like the ML? A lot? Usually, I don’t like these type of MLs a lot, but the ML isn’t jealous to the point of being a jerk, he’s not immature, and to put... more>> simply, he’s not a “domineering CTO” and can be a normal lover.

To be fair though, this novel isn’t really the type of novel I liked. I didn’t get a description or process of how exactly they fell in love with each other, and their relationship at the beginning of the novel wasn’t exactly healthy, with the ML being “I’m unworthy” and all. The unworthy problem did get solved, for the most part, but I would have rather read about how they fell in love with each other. That being said, it didn’t really affect my reading experience, and the novel was still really good, so I didn’t deduct stars because of this.

So, I’d definitely recommend this novel, sorry for the bad English and have a nice day. <<less

It's so heartwarming. The novel is short it can be read in one day and mtl is easy to read. The love between MC and ML is so strong. It did not say so explicitly, but MC prioritizes ML more than her family. I think that alone is enough to show how MC truly loves ML. Moreover, ML is endearing. He's soft and sensitive and resembles a puppy left alone in a box under a rain.

Nothing stands in between them. There are no irritating characters who shamelessly chase either one... more>> of the two. <<less

very Smooth ride kind of novel. There's not much going on in this novel beside the sweetness between the leads. Usually I don't mind, but this 1, it's just that I feel like I'm reading an imagination of an 18 y.o picturing how the life goes as how they wanted it to be. The plot is actually good and have a great potential as a good novel but the author can't make a depth of the story. I like the FL character as she's very proactive in pursuing the ML.... more>> She helps him overcome his inferiority by being very understanding, but that's it. How she helped him overcome his stuttering, didn't really show and from what I see, she doesn't really help him that much beside being pretty and kind and understanding. That's it. They never have a deep conversation except when she told him to be more proactive in their relationship.

The plot is like a combination of Please Confess to Me and Guide Raising the Sick Villain. But Guide Raising the Villain, though it is also 1v1 kind of story but we can really see the process of how Qiao Lan tried so hard to help Tan Mo overcome his syndrome n other problems by communicating it, and how the characters grew and changed overtime.

What made me read this till the end also because the guy was a poor orphan n got bullied, and he tried so hard to be able to match the FL since she's from a very wealthy family. But how he can be very rich afterwards,

When he left the his uncle's house and it was said that he didn't have that much money and he used it to buy a bus ticket to leave the city. But then no explanation how he can have a place to stay afterwards. Though he got a job afterwards, you still need to work a month to get a salary, so how did he pay for a rent?

the MC lied to the ML twice. 1st one was when she fainted because she's having a fever and her pursuer helped her and took care of her in her apartment when she was studying abroad. But when the ML called and asked why didn't she call him on a video call, she lied and said the camera is broken, while there is another guy in her apartment. Lying is lying whatever the reason is. And if it's the other way around, we as readers won't accept it if the ML fainted and another girl who pursues him took care of him and the ML didn't tell the MC, we would hate him! And he didn't find out till the end of the story.

For the 2nd lie, the ML found it out so I don't need to mention it.

A little disappointed!

Given the reincarnation/second chance trope, "drama+obsessive love" tag and such high ratings, I had very high hope for this one. But contrary to my expectations, this novel to me, just felt meh!

The obsessive love didn't really hit the spot, it was more like an introvert fanboy day-dreaming & squealing about his idol 24/7. Author literally spent chapters after chapters writing about FL trying to get close to ML & ML turing red in the ear and asking himself if he's dreaming or not! Fr this is not what... more>> I signed up for sir!

the little drama surrounding ML's family where he leaves his uncle's house for good seemed oddly familiar 🤔 (hmm lemme just go & check out the names of at least 2 other novels where I read the exact same plot)

Next complaint I have is about the FL. I just didn't like the fact that even after knowing his whole damn journey, she didn't fight hard enough for him. Like she could've easily prevented a lot of misfortune that ML was going to go through but she just decided to do nothing (except for that one time she fought with her classmates). I expected a lot more from her given the fact that she was reborn but it felt like that rebirth thing didn't make much impact in the story other that one time when she decided to be his seatmate! Also, as another reviewer mentioned she was in love with another guy before rebirth so her love towards ML is more like gratitude for saving her from that accident, even though it might've developed into sth more later on, I may have missed on that because of author's artistic narration!

Now I don't wanna be that person but I didn't like how the FL & ML's scenes together were written.

It mostly follows this rule, 'MC somehow gets in a natural spotlight raining down on her (do my words even make sense anymore?!) and starts to shine brightly, ML sees her and feels pathetic and disgusted for even having a crush on her (no, seriously why tho? Since when does having no parents and being poor is crime? And if someone doesn't like you just because of your financial status then dude, she's definitely not worth your time), ML closes himself in his shell (again), MC comes and has some sweet (🥰) conversation with him, ML asks himself if he's dreaming (again!!) '. Ffs this pattern goes on for 40+ chapters then after some angst they do get together but honestly I didn't really feel anything while reading it either. Like there was no butterfly on my stomach (😤). And the timeline annoyed me too! Because after all these nothingness for 40+ chapters they're finally in college and then he gets freelancing jobs-> saves up money for buying a house-> gets another very lucrative job through his seniors and then suddenly they're both in their third year of college, all of these in just 2 paragraphs!! Fr the last 30 chapters felt more like extras and this just my opinion, the author focuses more on some not so important details and spent less time on important ones!

My God! Enough rant for today cause I already wrote a lot of cons about a supposedly okayish sweet romance. Anyway, I do agree with the other reviewers that it's a fluffy heartwarming novel serving its purpose (!) but I definitely don't agree with such high ratings. Now if you're bored enough then give it a go in your free time but if you don't, I assure you, you won't miss out on anything!

P.S what's with NU peeps putting Adult/Mature tag on every other novel they see? A paragraph describing ML taking a cold shower and then FL helping him out does not deserve a tag like that!! Why tf do you guys give such false hope to us mortals huh?! <<less

This novel is so good. It's a mixture between Please Confess to Me and Guide to Raising a Sick Villain/ high school second chance novels.

I recommend if you like fluffy novels where the ML and MC are perfect for eachother.

(Like in Please Confess to Me) there were extras where we see the MC and ML in the timeline before he died. The MC (before the car crash and after the "cold and empty" marriage, has a dream about the alternate MC and ML and realized the ML has always loved her and then starts to spoil the cold husband, discovering his soft and cute side! I was unreconciled that in one life the ML died protecting her and didn't get to feel her love

The story is pretty short and has no convoluted plot. I just hope some extras come so we can see their cute life after marriage/ with kids/ in the other timeline.

Overall a really fluffy slice of life novel that's easy to understand in MTL :)

There are no drawn out misunderstandings after rebirth (mainly because there's actual communication!!!) and the main couple have really good chemistry! I also like how MC isn't an OP genius and has to actually work towards her goals.

There's some decent angst from the ML's side but it's mainly because ... more>>

The only reason I take off the 0.5 star is because some of the minor characters were kind of off at times but I think it might have been the MTL and not the story itself. <<less

Light read, personally I'm a bit annoyed by the writing style, there's also many plot holes that was brushed off. But it's fine because it's just a sweet read to pass the time.

I took a star off because the laziness on research. The author just claimed that FL is a brilliant pianist, showed her doing some practices and played some mainstream piano songs that everyone knows and then left it at that. I mean, I rolled my eyes back and forth when I read the FL plays 'Nocturne' and 'Moonlight... more>> Sonata' and nothing else non-mainstrem, I was like bruh, I'm sure it's not that hard to research what pianists actually practice with and I'm pretty sure if FL is a hardcore pianist her taste wouldn't be just limited to these pieces, not that they're bad it's just she should be aware that there's thousands of piano pieces worth more interest than those ones. <<less

It's a very sweet story.. 🍰 FL got a 2nd chance to get to know her future husband (ML) who had silently protected and cherished her in their 1st life..

ML is sensitive, has a bit of a low self-confidence, but very loyal to his love. He deeply loves the FL. It's just a bit heart-breaking to see him so insecure in the emotional aspect.. Though in terms of his career, he works really hard to give a good life to the FL..

I think both of them are pitiful in their first life. Also, even though the ML always show good will towards the FL, the FL was the one to confirm their relationship. It's great that the FL was able to grasp her HE in their 2nd and 3rd lives~ 🌈

A cute and fluffy second chance novel, I read it mtl version which was pretty understandable coz the translations were painfully slow and I lost my patience.

it was a ordinary, cute af story nd theres no angst maybe a bit in their first life. Istg after reading made me really wish to want a person like Gu Miao so bad like he's so precious, I love him so much <3

I feel like the people who rated this novel low did not properly read the story. I've read a review that stated, and I qoute,

"She liked someone else in her previous life until she heard her husband saying he loves her before his death, she had survivor's guilt (i think), and regreted not giving him a chance, she wished she could turn back time to love him. Time turns back, she goes to the same school as him, he is bullied very badly but the FL does the bare minimum. We see from the ml's pov that she barely communicates with him and is mostly surrounded by and interacts with other classmates."

1. To clarify, it's stated in the story that she lied to him in their past life when... more>> she told him that she already has someone she likes. She was annoyed at her parents for forcing her into blind dates and she wanted to immediately state to her date (the ML) that she wasn't interested. Which in this case, her reaction was reasonable. Her parents made her give up on her dream for her to take over their company, and kept setting her up in blind dates that she did not like.

2. When time turned back and she returned to the past, she not only stood up against his bully, she also helped improve his social life and made sure that the people viewed him in a positive light.

There's still a lot more low reviews that I find baffling and would want to tackle but I'll stop here.

The ML of the story was similar to another novel I've read before, titled "Please Confess To Me" They have the same inferiority complex and deemed themselves unworthy of the FL (which is quiet sad to be honest considering that they deserved far more credit than they give themselves). However, if you compare both stories, I feel like the other is better.

This novel focused more on the development of the ML and his relationship with the FL, which is good, but I felt like the FL's character lacked dimension.

The FL's character is good, often depicted as a "sunshine" and all of that, but it lacked depth.

The other characters also wasn't given much "screentime" per-say. Even the FL's family wasn't shown more in the story.

The story was good, I enjoyed the main character's relationship and interaction but other than that, there was no more things to say.

Despite lacking depth, I still enjoyed the story. There were no major misunderstandings and the story focused on the ML's character development and the progression of their relationship.

as much as I love this my biased rating would be 4 stars but a more critical rating is 3 stars. The saving grace of this story is really the sweetness between the FL and ML. I love her frankness and how proactive she is as well as their couple growth. The ML is a man who can be strong and reliable but can also show you his fears and cry on your shoulder.

Their journey from high school to getting married is beautiful, however, the authors writing is a bit... more>> immature and some plot holes do exist and the flow is not completely smooth. There is vagueness in areas that need more detailing. The ending is abrupt imo but it was a lovely read and only takes a few hours to complete the story.

ps; the title is really misleading cuz although he stutters a bit at the beginning like a few chapters he never even talked that much and after a while when he did start talking well there was no more stuttering

This story is so sweet that it warms my heart ~ I feel like there should be a lot more stories like this, it’s so refreshing to read this and I cried because this wonderful work is already finished, I did MTL and it is very easy to understand It was one of the best stories I've ever read because after reading several stories that ML is a "domineering and cold" man it is very gratifying to see that he is so sweet and shy and that he loves our... more>> female protagonist beyond his own life, I don't have much to talk about FL because she she is my ideal protagonist, she is sweet but she was also very strong to protect ML when it was necessary and it was so satisfying to see how their romance developed! I was like: Shut up, and take my 5 stars!!

I'm honestly jealous of whoever is translating this. Its wholesome and different with such a well-rounded rebirth plot.

The FL is a properly reincarnated older woman. She acts restrained at first because she doesn't know what the ML is thinking, but later. Boy, oh boy.

And the ML? No words to describe him. How can someone be so moe?

I'll review this novel in a phrase: Making a woman squeak like a pre-teen seeing her first passionate Yaoi kiss scene.

The author did not put much thought in this novel. It felt like they just want to ab*se the ML for the heck of it and made him extremely timid to add spice to this mediocre story. They also kept on describing the weather in every chapter which irked me as well. It felt like they need to reach a certain word count for the chapter but did not have enough progress in the story to write so they opted to just repeatedly decribe the weather.

Okay, this is good. The usual second chance rebirth FL x extremely inferior ML. I have to say that I absolutely love these kind of tropes but this one didn't hit like the others... hmmm, I do think mainly it's because of the dialogue and narration.

I'm at chapter 18, so I'm going to start that I'm a fan of Grumpy crabs' novel Please Confess to me, I really really love that novel, how they wrote it esp. How the character development. This novel also strives to be like that, but fails in my opinion.

Sure it's cute, and has many potentials I just hoped that the author developed their characters more instead of turning them into matinee idols that is too typical in school web novel setting. They already have a great premise: the ML having... more>> a stutter due to ptsd and fML with a likable personality. I'm at thier middle school phase, and frankly I'm getting bored, it seemed to me that both MCs are acting ooc. At one point I felt like the fMC is getting on my nerves and is seemingly a white lotus, the ML as well is showing typical domineering, I hated this. Also there are too many misunderstanding, isn't one lifetime enough that? FMC in this tl is supposed to have already experienced one lifetime, and have several achievements of her own as she was raised to take over her family business but this is downplayed by the author they made her act like your typical teen, sure a sentence or phrase gets thrown to the reader that she wasn't like this at all when she was young but still her actions were very immature unlikely that of a woman tested and tempered with time, she's too passive and concerned about her image. The author made her prone to misunderstand the ML, idk maybe for comedic purposes? She never strove to get to know the ML better imo. I was dissatisfied, that the fMC never got straight to the point of her objective. I can't help but compare her to the fMC of PCTM. I felt disappointed that both characters are falling into the CN trope of school life matinee romance drama: good looking poor boy turned domineering 8 pack abs PEERLESS CEO and oh my goddess goody two shoes alabaster skinned who can do no wrong rich girl.

I know that this is a second chance novel with the premise that the MC wants to make it up for ML, this novel could've been more. Still I will read this to the end, I am still hoping that the writing will go smoothly from here on out, I was just so disappointed while reading the first few chapters that I couldn't help but comment. <<less
