Maribel, the eldest daughter of the Marquis of Lambert, is living a happy life, surrounded by kind parents and cute pets.

However, her younger sister, Milka, would often say, “Its not fair!” so she was puzzled as to what was unfair.

She didn’t want her sister to think she was being unfair, so she got engaged to someone who wasn’t being “unfair.”

A very average story with a good translation.

I give the story credit for a surprise ending I didn't see coming and I doubt anyone else will either. It was also very readable and the prose had decent flow. So even if you don't find it to your fancy it's still readable. That does go a long way.

The problem is the story was mostly boring, and instead of the main characters I found myself more interested in the baby birds. While the surprises were surprising they were surprising in that "Where... more>> did that come from?" way. There was little to no foundation and it was just hard to believe most of the facets of the ending.

I'd like to say it's something you can read if you like a simple vanilla romance but the twists and side characters spoil it. <<less

The story tells it all.
Spoiler

The sister only covets the FL because the mothers a literal yandere. Like no f*cking joke. The mother absolutely loves the father so since the sister looks almost nothing like the father she just gets ignored. It makes sense why the sister says "It's not fair". She's viewing this as her mother not loving her and I could be interpreted as the mother hating her. It's great. It also shows that the FL is actually seen as mentally underdeveloped because of how she was raised via the domino effect of the mother.

The translation quality is hard to pass. Like, you might have to reread a sentence to actually understand it because of how weirdly it's worded but don't get me wrong; it is readable.

The characters actually make sense and hold place within the story.

I give this 4/5 big dicks.

Well that subverted expectations a little. The plot is pretty standard, except for one aspect of the family. I won't spoil anything because it's literally a 10-minute read. All I'll say is there is certainly a very "special" reason for all of the weird personalities of the Lambert family.

P.S. I too would like singing birds who fly around me like a Disney princess please and thanks. +1 stars

Hmm..I honestly don't know what the author tried to convey in this story. At first, the story focused on FL and her relationship with her sister (and also her birds) but then it changed to ML's POV where he tried to prove himself and successed at that. In the end, the author tried to give us a plot twist so we wouldn't hate FL's sister that much but sorry to say, it didn't affect me whatsoever.

The author tried to portray FL's sister as a pitiful girl that lacked of mother's love but it still didn't justify her treatment towards those who were around her, especially FL. And she didn't change at all till the end even after the author revealed her background story, so why bother portraying her as a pitiful girl in the first place?
