I've honestly never read anything this absolutely, mindlessly, s*upid in my entire life.

The first 60 chapters are the MC being verbally, emotionally, and physically abused by the soon-to-be-ex-husband, his strange family, and her strange sister. And back-and-forth MC being shocked at their actions, MC "trying to be hard-hearted, " MC getting hit on by random creeps, and MC getting repeatedly rescued from random creeps by random older brother. Oh and MC repeatedly hot/cold towards older brother. Literally the plot is 1000x worse than contrived daytime soaps.

Spoiler

I skimmed ahead to see if the MC is divorced yet, and nope! Literally she claimed she had no more feelings for him after he tried to strangle her for the second time, and here we are 20 chp later no divorce yet lol.

I can't even imagine jailed criminals or mental asylum patients acting as uncontrollably illogical and frustratingly absurd as these characters.

Not to mention both MC and her sister have different last names and the ex-hubbie and his older brother also have different last names!?!

The 1 star is for the excellent translation. <<less

this is day time television. Soap opera. Korean makjang. It’s dramatic and over the top. Whatever tropes can be used have been used. It’s cliche.

but hey it does it job as a tr*shy time passer. It’s not great but it’s not bad — the translations are good. I get why the other reviewers don’t like it but if you’re someone who enjoys those revenge dramas that are 50 episodes long, you may enjoy this

i just want to say if you get cheated on and that’s a deal breaker, just get... more>> a divorce no matter what other people say. Who cares if grandpa doesn’t want you to get divorced? If you MIL is a literal shrew who slaps you and verbally abuses you, please leave the marriage. If your husband beats you up, file a police report, get a protection order and divorce. Please. Life is not a tr*shy novel and you deserve better <<less

Firstly, my scale of rating: 3 is a series which is absolutely ordinary, which has troupes and uses troupes in a decent manner. This particular series, I am rating a 2/5 and it is not Mango approved, meaning that it is below ordinary and doesn't make a strong case for itself to be read.

I don't know how long this series is and how many total chapters it has, but after reading till c86, I could come to an understanding as to what to expect based on what I have... more>> read. This is a bare-bones, stripped to the basics drama. It has nothing in addition to its dramatization. No remote instances of comedy, no remote instances of smut or such which could hook your attention. It does boast of a rather strong Romance genre recommendation.

The initial interaction between the two leads is through a classic one-night stand. After that, the interaction between them can be considered to be quirky and fun at times, which is what I feel this drama was originally intended to be about: A mixture of quirky character interactions and rather b*tchy character fights. My major issue is with the b*tchy side: It just doesn't work!

The author has tried to create angst by constantly portraying the female lead as an unfortunate victim who is cheated on and further abused in all forms. Well... The way it is portrayed is problematic. We only see her as a pedantic woman who inspite of having the "mental strength" to go ahead and improve her life, she just continues to subject herself to misery. The b*tches are null-dimensional, and by constantly giving them limelight, the female lead does herself a disservice.

The romance between the leads also follows a very predictable k-drama format, in my opinion. In fact, this could have been a nice concept for a k-drama, but as a written series, it just fails to hook me as a reader and push me to click on next chapter. For a daily-soap drama, that is a death knell.

The translation is actually quite good and well-paced, so for anyone who just wants their daily dose of words, I would recommend this. The interaction between the leads is genuinely quirky at times, but it is an unfortunate extreme majority.

Even if the angst decreases in the series in the future, unfortunately, the backstory is attempted to be a suspense, but anyone who has seen even a couple of dramas could make an accurate prediction of where it is going. If this series actually ends within 150-200 chapters, this would definitely make into a short and lively drama worthy of 3 star rating. Unfortunately, that seems highly unlikely looking at the pace of the series. <<less

Wow, the plot is just so, so bad. I read through c155. First I was annoyed with the MC for being a pushover who gets used and abused by everyone around her.

Spoiler

Her husband's a cheating a-hole. His grandfather's a manipulative old coot. His mother's an abusive witch. Her uncle is a lying bastard. Her half sister's a jealous vixen who sleeps with her husband. Her potential love interest (her husband's half brother) is an overbearing bully who doesn't respect boundaries.

Did I forget anyone???

[collapse]

The author describes her as such a beauty that I'm wondering why she doesn't drop these controlling jerks and find someone genuinely nice to love.

As if that's not enough, by c165 LSH turns into a male Mary Sue.

Spoiler

Seriously. He's a gorgeous, rich, and powerful CEO? Apparently not. The author also has to make him a Mission Impossible-esque special agent who can crush bones and break guns with his bare hands, run as fast as a car, and disarm bombs while getting shot multiple times. Ugh, it was too unbelievable and ruined my interest.

Enough is enough. <<less
