Er Sheng is an orphan girl. She said that her whole family was buried in the soil just so she could live wantonly, but no one gave a damn about her.

She also said that if she were to ever meet someone who would take her by the hand, carry her on the back, forge a sword for her, teach her how to read, be happy for her, and worry for her she could not really be free anymore, for she would have to go all the way through the wind and rain with him.

Ah, just when she thought she could finally hold Chang Yuan’s hand and move on— he suddenly disappeared. Finding him has become Er Sheng’s greatest wish in life. But after everything was over and the pomp settled, she woke up from a drunken dream. Only then did she realize that there was no Er Sheng or Chang Yuan in the world— That was just Si Ming Xingjun’s dreams.

This is the 2nd novel in the "Sansheng Series" and although it can be read as a stand-alone, I recommend reading the 1st novel before this since it is a bit of a prequel to the events of this book.

  1. Sansheng, Wangchuan Wu Shang
  2. Si Ming
  3. Demon King
  4. One Moment of Impulse, Seven Lifetimes of Misfortune
(In my opinion, only the 4th book can be read stand-alone.)

The reason why I'm mentioning the series itself first before the actual novel is because all of the MCs/FLs have somewhat similar temperaments. Of course, in some... more>> cases, it's due to external reasons, but each FL has a period of naivety and intellectual blindness. Imo it fits the 1st novel FL Sansheng quite nicely (so straightforward that it's refreshing), but in Si Ming and Demon King (Little Orchid) it can get a bit unbearable. Ironically both of their partners are demons so coincidence? I think not LOL. I do like this novel's ML a lot more than the other books, though.

Plot-wise it's alright. Not good, not bad, there's obviously some nefarious plan underway but it feels a tad dry. ML is the only reason I'm interested tbh.

Here's a bit of a synopsis of what the book is about since the description can be confusing (spoiler of Extra 3 of Sansheng, Wangchuan Wu Shang) :

Spoiler

Si Ming is the God of Fate in the Immortal Realm and fell into the Jade Pond, a wine that leaves gods to sleep for thousands of years. However, she finds herself reincarnated (no memories after consuming Meng Po soup) as Er Sheng. As to how a sleep-inducing wine resulted in her reincarnation, that's a mystery.

She meets Chang Yuan, an ancient divine dragon, and finds herself immediately attached to him, and that's where the story begins.
