Similar to Death March, easygoing story. But compared to Death March, this WN :

1. The protag much denser than the one in Death March

2. The characters lack personalities. This is the most minus. In Death March, the characters brimming with strong personalities. So even it's the same easygoing story, it always refreshing and cute.

3. The story pace feels quite fast but somehow progressed so slow. It's already 160th chapter yet it only progressed 3 arcs.

It's a good story. Since the MC is already OP in the past, even with the handicap first crest, it's not surprising that he will be more OP in his new crest in his new life.

But since the world's magic level became low and his OP, and there's so many characters that rely on him, it became boring. Also it became annoying when the MC said lines like "I could do better in my previous life but this is the limit of what can I do now" repeatedly, even during... more>> battle, when the enemy will do a strong attack he always have a hidden trump card prepared, yeah REPEATEDLY.

Well, I feel like even when I'm currently in chapter 50's I feel like I am reading an early chapters, so maybe we can expect changes in the future releases. HOPEFULLY <<less

story- at first interesting then it became a hole in the ground that it became a pitfall. First, a person who is becoming a sage had obtain many experience and knowledge which is very rare among people. But this sage was having a difficulty on magic combat due to his body incompatibility. With a solution, abandon the body and transfer his own consciousness to some body far away to the future.

the hole - this sage who was a legendary person travels many places, have a vast knowledge and experience... more>> abandon his own body for obtaining his compatible combat magic body. For many questions, does this necessary? I mean perhaps there are other people who experience similar problems "incompatible with combat magic" case and were able to produce a book or a scroll on how to overcome the problem. Yet, this sage was too fast going short cut.

the fall- going to school, you have become a sage yet you going to a grade school. Excuse me, this is going to very much waste of time reading a chapter for a boring school life. Yeah, a sage going to grade school instead of going to city library or nearest one or even borrowing/purchasing a book for gathering information. Even better to talk to some one like a scholar perhaps. <<less

by far my favorite of the 'old man reincarnates as child' genre, not any of the creepiness that a lot of the other ones cause when they constantly focus on his previous age compared to his companions. And worry not, the harem is well done as well, being purely platonic (so far with only one line hinting otherwise), none of that weird instant love, blank slate protagonist, or tediousness after 200 chapters that I now always expect to happen.

very similar to Kenja no Mago (Magi's grandson) in many ways, though... more>> I greatly prefer this over that due to the role marks play (which allow the other characters to grow and be better at than the MC in different regards depending on which of the 4 marks the have) <<less

This story is absolutely stupid and I love it for that. It's a completely generic story that does nothing out of the ordinary and yet I can't stop reading. Don't go into this expecting an epic story filled with trials, tribulations, growth, or world building. Just turn your brain off and let the dumb action and comedy entertain you. Seriously, if you're looking for a good story this is not the place to be, but it's such a fun ride regardless that you might end up enjoying this drivel... more>> more than you think. <<less

I often find it weird that most of translated chapters of light novels belongs to the bad ones and the least translated chapters belongs to the good light novels, why is that? I often find crappy light novels that is being translated at 3-10 chapters a month than the logical and master piece light novel have releases that only has 0.5-4 per month. This novel falls to the category of mediocre (IMO), but see that chapters release rate 5.8 days and now compare it to a slightly better "Konjiki no... more>> Moji Tsukai" that has 11.5 days release rate and "Blessing from the Goddess and Transfer to Another World! ~No Thanks, I Don’t Need a Special Ability~" that has a 17.3 days.

Scrap novels and mediocre novels are more translated because its not in demand compare it to the slightly better or masterpiece novels that in demand for translation are being limit so that the maximum income of donation will receive during the translation. I feel like being manipulated, even if they didn't do those kind of things I will still donate at least $1-3 a month if I like the translation or have read a good novel at it, for a year of donating $1-3 to keep the site going. But alas most of the site that has good novels being translated are slow or not really bother releasing for months. Demand+/supply- and demand-/supply+ I guess. ლ (͠°Д °ლ) <<less

First of all I started read this again, because I don't remember where I stopped.

But from what I remember and I want to review.

It's boring - yes

No depth - yes

No characters growth - yes

Why I give 4 stars ?

Simple story - yes

No over dramatic - yes

Interesting concept - yes

Have potential -yes

Author could achieve expected goal - no

In conclusion I want to say that this whole story could be reference for basic concept in writing but should not copy author's style because it's suck.

A novel that is completely unoriginal and doesn't stand out in any way.

Everything is cliché, which wouldn't even be too bad if it was well written or the characters were well characterised, since tropes becomes cliché when they are good tropes. But no, the writing is exactly what you'd expect by your average web novel: descriptions, word building, characters, everything is shallow and generic.

There's nothing praiseworthy about the novel itself, the translation is good though, so if you really absolutely love the OP MC harem isekai genre, have nothing to... more>> do with your time, and already read every other novel of this type them you could give this a go, since while incredibly bland it's still not unreadably bad. <<less

This is a comedy 4 koma in a web novel style. How much you will enjoy the series depends heavily on how receptive you are to its particular brand of humor.

Aside from that it's pretty much business as usual, the cute girls are cute, the op MC is op and magic is cool.

it is a fake shonen light novel...

no true sense of danger when the world has fall apart (believe it or not, it is a post-apocalyptic world)

inteligent MC but only think with his muscles at non crucial moments... (why the world end like this? meh idc)

... more>> it is shonen because MC is op, intelligent and solve things with punches.

it is fake because there is no sense of danger, no blood, no deaths

now tags, they are not that bad so far...

he is not dense... I see no romance in the ln yet, he knows there are tons of problems around the world, he just ignore it because... it is not related to his dream? I am not sure why he ignore it..., and well he was a freaking genius in his time so I believe that his common sense back then was not the standard of common sense of the time either...

genre on the other side... I see no harem, no romance (perhaps there was something for 1-2 chapters but no more after 171 chapters so far)

i see no school life... sure he lived in a school (it is not mentioned though) but other than the implicit him as a teacher instead of a student, there is nothing of value (and pretty much 150 chapters are related to school lol)

the novel is ok for amusing, I expect it will be cut down though... why? well MC said this "i want to fight those universe beast (or something) but I need 300 years and a solid team to be ready" after 171 chapters only a bit more than 7 months has passed, it is slow paced as a snail <<less

Romance: ERROR 404: Not Found.

Harem: All members are as bland as Maki Nishikino - Just pretty but boring as hell.

... more>> It's a repetitive cycle of MC doing something which is new to the new world.

Defeating enemies like a walk in a park.

Enemies are a bunch of retards.

Saving Grace:

It's quite normal that he's powerful since he's the most powerful wizard during his time in the past before being reincarnated into the future which regressed drastically instead of progressing. So it's quite fresh unlike most fantasy novels which the MC is OP for no good reason.

It explains things in detail.

The chapters are short.

Bad Side:
This ain't an "isekai" novel you got tricked.

Bland and Repetitive.

It's just a novel of training his future party prospects, teaching the dunces of the current world about magic and dungeon busting. <<less

This novel is the epitome of average, the plot, the writing and even the translation is average, it isn't bad by any means, but it also doesn't reach the height of the better ones out there like wuxiaworld. The chapters are extremely short with the whole story feeling rushed and lacking in explanation, about the world, the concept of magic and experience, the latter of which is the way to grow in mana in this novel.

All of this also results in there being no way to really categorize people according... more>> to strength, all we know is that the MC for some reason is OP after hunting birds for 6 years, since it's said in the prologue that he's going to be reincarnated with only his memories, none of his former strength.

The fact that the MC is op isn't that bad, especially when there's talk in the prologue about enemies out there being stronger than even his former self.

The premise of the story in itself isn't bad and the MC is likeable, even though he's clueless he isn't whining all the time like you see in a lot of other novels and on top of that I actually found myself grinning or laughing at times, normally doesn't happen for most novels on here, even the ones people say are funny are regularly stuff I find lame and think only 12 year olds would laugh at, so if you're like me, you might find this one enjoyable. <<less

The intro is easy to misunderstand, in the past, 4 crests have the same value in the world the one he had is by no mean weak, it's just the only one not suit for combat.

The story, no, one (or a few) of the main point of the story is the same as "world teacher"

While the number of word is average, somehow the actual story in each chapter is (extremely) short. It's best to combine 2 chapter as 1. MC... in early state (until chap 20 and might even further)... more>> he's almost void of common sense.

As far as the story goes, it's more like MC reincarnate to the "past" rather than the future, it doesn't "look" like magic has gone down but rather like a stone age. But unfortunate... it is, and hell, he's like a god in his past life <<less

The novel itself would be good if I didn't read the prologue, even though it's vital to the story ... more>>

When I read that his goal is to travel to space and fight space monsters, I read it with that in mind, expecting we will fight some aliens. But all the novel did was make him go through the same experiences and needless exposition since only he knows what's up. When the novel is back on track, again they take the long way out and 50 chapters of progress. Remember that he at first wanted to travel the world outside his territory, rank up and fight some aliens. But he had to go to school, dungeons, fight demons and receive missions just to "travel outside his father's territory"

Fairly average Japanese fantasy-world reincarnation story. No Earth knowledge, the reincarnation is on the fantasy planet. Standard OP magic-combat shenanigans and underestimation. Also, weirdly similar to The Magi's Grandson. Not sure which came out first but one is clearly influenced by the other.

similarities include being surprisingly OP due to a better understanding of magic, love at first sight, and a couple other minor things. Thankfully none of that replaceable sword-blade nonsense.

Give it a shot if you like the tags but don't set your expectations too high.

It is a fun novel. If you are annoyed by the OP protagonist breezing through challenges with everything going his way trope then this is definitely not for you.

If you read through reviews, you will find out that the lack of common sense is very annoying among negative reviews. It can simply be explained since the protagonist never really came in contact with what counts for common sense, living in the countryside and nobody truly correcting him or proving him wrong, before he changes the situation to suit his

I also... more>> like it because the protagonist lacks the hesitance that op protagonist usually have, if he wants something he will do it <<less

It's not that bad, I've read both the novel and the manga though the manga is behind the novel and it's actually funny. I look forward for more novel updates and manga chapters (^ν^)

The story and the setting are very interesting and id say they were pretty well thought out. The series displays rich environment with a decently described fantasy aspect. The fact that the MC is simply op is managed in an acceptable manner by giving the reader to understand that his body is still "growing" after the reincarnation. Something new this series has when compared to other "reincarnation" novels is the addition of a class difference for every human aka. The crest in their hands. You could see this as a... more>> replacement for the lack of systematic in the magic of the universe (in part due to the fact that the MC adds to the "current worlds knowledge" in pretty much every chapter). The only annoying flaw with the series is the neutron-star-level denseness of the MC. I know this is a recurring trait among isekai MCs but this guy really kicks it up a notch. <<less
