To all those saying that she's an abuser, let me clarify that she did not abuse anyone. In fact, MC was the one being abused. I actually quite like her response to abuse, and that is she lashes out and fights back (hence the complaints of HER abusing others). The only reason I gave 3 stars is because ML is the main source of all the abuse and I don't like his hypocritical method of "love".

Imagine an old fat ugly balding man kidnaps you, r*pes you, forces you to give... more>> birth to his child, cuts off your legs so you can't run away and in return accepts all the beatings+scoldings you give him while taking care of your crippled body (which he maimed BTW), I don't think you'll call this so romantic/loving. Heck, he deserves everything you scream at him cos he IS a psychopathic pe*vert who is the source of all your trauma.

And that's how it is with our ML. He
Spoiler

rapes MC when she was drugged, forces her to give birth to his child which was a product of r*pe when she actually wanted to abort the child, brings her to his house and lets his mother abuse her, lets his stepsister abuse her, lets her family abuse+humiliate her in public (it was like almost 1 whole chapter long before he spoke up to "protect" her), lets his stepsister and stepbrother almost r*pe her.....

[collapse]

I really pitied MC. 80% of her trauma is due to ML and his repeated promise of "I'm sorry I let this happen to you, I promise it won't happen again" reminds me of those domestic violence where the man hits the woman and then promises "I'm sorry I hit you, I love you, I promise it won't happen again". Yeah, so fake and sucky. That's probably why I can't really get into his "loving and romantic" gestures cos it's probably fake and due to his guilt. He deserves everything that MC did to him including all the screaming and hitting. MC was extremely depressed, traumatised and extremely out of her mind but instead of protecting her and sending her to a therapist so that she can get the help she needs, ML locks her up at home instead and lets his family abuse her. Oh, and the one time where she accidentally injured her child (IT'S AN ACCIDENT, PEOPLE!!) I still blame him cos he was the only sane adult in that house.... why will you allow your child to go near a crazy person (MC) ?

I actually prefer all the side CPs. MC's real sister and the police, singer + army guy and kidnapped idol + manager all had a much better love story than our main couple. ML is actually a really toxic person disguised as a good person. If you really love someone, you will do everything you can to protect them. Not wait until other people abuse your loved one before you come in as the "hero" to rescue them. I can only say that MC is a really strong person to overcome all her trauma by herself (no thanks to ML). Glad that she managed to find her HE with ML even though he caused her much grief. <<less

This is a good one. I saw lot of opinions regarding the FL and just want to say I’m glad I gave this book a chance. Love the FL, the ML is awesome and there are some nice chapters where some other side characters get their happy ending too. Sure, some mentioned details regarding how the antagonists end up, seem a bit over the top. The writing is not perfect, but the fluff is. And you can feel the love in how they accept each other’s flaws, forgive and move... more>> on. It’s not that heavy but some controversial actions are portrayed. Parents are still human even if they suddenly became parents. The ML is a mountain you can lean on, love him. And the FL went through a lot, not to make excuses for her, but she has her reasons even if she made a mess of things. She should have gotten a therapist for postpartum depression I think. Her close ones dropped the ball on that (though I know some countries don’t really encourage the seeing of a therapist- mine included- there’s sort of stigma to it). It’s a light read with some serious undertones, a strong FL and a puppy/ wolf ML. Yup, will be one of my fave <<less

Great novel with a pretty sweet romance and cute family interactions. My favorite part of the novel was FL's journey throughout the novel. From the beginning, it's pretty obvious that she had some traumatic history and that she behaved very badly before her amnesia. But her amnesia basically allowed her to start afresh without the baggage, recover her original personality and strength so by the time she recovered her memory she was able to face it straight on and move past it.

Other than this, there were plots, fights, arguments from... more>> the typical brain dead villains which were pretty s*upid but also easy to ignore. I mostly skimmed past these parts. All in all, still a touching read.

about all the abuse/ alcoholic stuff that was in the reviews, I think it's super unfair and ridiculously harsh. Like there's some foreshadowing that makes it look worse than it is but when it's revealed, it's not as bad as it's made out to be. She did cause some harm yessssss but she was not abusive.

Spoiler

abuse with her kid

she accidentally burnt her kid ONCE. Because of her depression, she smoked and drank secretly in a room away from the child. the kid sneaked in and she felt ashamed because she was smoking and drinking and clearly this is not a suitable situation for a 2 year old to be in. She wanted to push him away and then accidentally burned him.

how is this abuse?? Like anyone who smokes would know that it's possible to accidentally burn someone out of carelessness even without adding in the alcohol factor. I've dropped a cigarette on my own finger and burnt it before out of carelessness and I was sober. My friends and I have also accidentally burnt each other with cigarettes by accident. Like a careless flick of the lit end of the cigarette end and it flies in the wrong direction or like maybe talking and gesturing and the cigarette accidentally brushes against the person next to you. Are you going to call any of that abuse? Obviously not?! It was an accident. It happens.

Was she irresponsible as a parent? YES she was. She could've locked the door, she could've drank and smoked outside the house, or she could also not drink and smoke at all. But saying this is abuse is just too harsh. It was an accident. And not only that, it's a ONE TIME ACCIDENT in around 4 years.

abuse with her husband: again those were accidents.

Burn incident -> she wanted to burn herself and ML blocked it and got burnt instead.

stone incident -> she was throwing snow at him and there was a stone in the snow she threw at him.

Honestly I just feel like calling it abuse here is also just too much here. The reason is that both times, whether she was drunk or sober, she was consciously trying not to hurt him. She wanted to burn herself and didn't know he would block her and wind up getting burnt. In the stone thing, she threw snow at him. The fact that she purposely took snow to throw at him when there were other things she could've thrown shows she did not want to injure him. She purposely took the softest thing in the vicinity. She was emotionally unstable and careless yes, but she wasn't abusive. They were accidents.

I'm not justifying her actions and saying it's ok by arguing that it's not abuse. She was definitely emotionally unstable, irresponsible and even dangerous, but her actual actions just do nooooot constitute abuse.

Other than that, considering her circumstances and the fact that she was aware that she wasn't fit to be around and was ACTIVELY trying to avoid both her child and ML to avoid hurting them, I do feel like it makes her a lot more sympathetic.

[collapse]

FL -> so like I said my favorite part of the novel was FL.

why:
1. FL's character -> plucky, sweet and kind hearted

2. the way FL's journey was shown -> showing her as she is without her emotional trauma first and then revealing it later. It gives the feeling that ah... this is who she really is and she just had an unfortunate past.

3. FL's emotional state -> the author showed how much she spiraled emotionally and acted out. Even though some of the incidents that happened to her were kind of unrealistic, her reaction was realistic. She didn't magically get over it, she lost hope, she lost her own personality in her rage and she even hated herself for it. At the same time I liked how FL's character really is strong, she spiraled pretty badly, but it was because too much hit her all at once. It's easy to give up and get used to being in a unhappy state of mind and it's hard to keep trying. She never stopped trying to get better and all she really needed was time. <<less

Apart from some scenarios that don't make much sense, the story is so wholesome. It got more cute and funny from the moment the FL began to get attracted to the ML and his body lmao. This is also one of the stories where the main leads actually take care of their child unlike other stories where the child doesn't even have any importance. This whole story is pretty enjoyable and heartwarming. Only, I wish our little dumpling got a baby sister that he so longed for. The FL is... more>> cute and lovely. Though the ML is the cliche cold and distant kind, I like how he's always so rational and levelheaded, not letting emotions get the best out of him. That's how leading figures should behave. Also I was so distressed while reading her past. Thankfully, they both got chance to turn everything around. And, I felt that her sister's lovelife could've been described better than this. It felt so rushed. All in all, it's a nice and light read, with very less annoying moments. Only, I wish it had some smut. *Cries* it has so much potential for a smut novel. I got so sad everytime their intimate scenes got cut off. We want a detailed love making. *Cough* I did see the tags before going in but still, a lil disappointed. Anyways, it's a plot with good romance and good parenting. I felt so empty after finishing it. <<less

The story is nice, sweet, nothing extraordinary though. Okay okay for a nice casual read full of sweetness and fluff. But I really hate 😒 the typical 5 year old kiddo of the leads acting like a matchmaker or love counselor for his parents. Like it's fictional I get it, but they always tend to give the emotional understanding and psychology of an adult to the kid. I haven't seen any modern novel where the child acts according to his age. That's why I am dropping it, else it's nice... more>> to read it casually. <<less

It's so good!!! This is a perfect slice of life novel. I like the build up of each character.

It's been tiring to read novels with male characters that are so sex-crazed they do things that are lowkey r*pey. There's nothing of that sort here. The s*xual parts in the novel are also fluffy and will make you smile.

I especially like how the female lead is the one always initiating for s*x and goes out of her way to seduce her man. I also like how when the male characters... more>> say that they will not do s*xual stuff, they actually stop there. <<less

My rating is probably pretty biased one. I rate stories more on feeling than on actual quality. So even though I knew this novel has spades of little mistakes, I still gave it full score.

I write this shortly after reading chaps 46 and 47 (near the end), which were so sad, so painful and so bittersweet. I was choked on emotions, so packed up with them they were.

How can people end up so broken. How can hope hurts so much.

I was crying. I am emphatic woman but not to the... more>> point that I cry easily - but I was heartbroken when I was reading it. And so happy. It was very strong and very complex feeling.

The novel was brillinat one (among similar novels. If you look for contemporary with solid characters who acted somehow predictably and love is main plot - basicaly CN). It was mostly the story of characters and their emotions so there were not much action or intrigue.
At first it was very sweet story. I just loved to read about all that meng and fluff. Most of the book was like that, actually.
What I really liked about it - protagonists vere real. Their emotions, confusion, hopes. Even though it was scaled more to the fluff and sweet side and characters were somehow static and some aspects were glossed over, it was still more real-like that other works. I lost myself in it.
Also, it's the first story with decent ML who respect and dotes upon his wife and is still quite ruthless.

Slightly spoiler-ish ahead in flashing out ML character...
Spoiler

I mean, he was soldier. He is mean bussinessman. But this is first story in which I really believe it because it wasn't just written down but also shown, which is rare. He was sweetheart to his wife, but quite brutal to his enemies - even females.

Only problem was - MC was behaving really, really bad. Borderline with child and domestic abuse, so there was this. But it was in line with storyline when she was amnesiac and just wanted to be better, so these shades were quite glossed over. Also, she had reason. Some people can never understand how desperate is man in depression and lost in self-loathing. They don't take it as excuse for harming others, but I think it was, if not good explanation, than at least honest one. And again, author used slight "deus ex-machina" to made it work. It's story after all.

[collapse]

The story was flashed out well. I liked that all the loose ends were wraped up nicely. It was packed with emotions. It has happy ending.
Even though I don't particulary liked the writing style, I don't know if it was author or the translation (which was good despite some grammar mistakes and weird senteces - pretty much average translation. Some of the translator's comment cracked me up), it still managed to got under my skin.

It wasn't perfect, but it touched me. So, 5*. <<less

A very bitter-sweet story, though the present is full of sweet fluff, both MC and ML had to wade through heartaches to reach here. ML is probably one of the best males leads I have ever read - so caring and gentle to his family, and he doesn't get jealous of his own kid, unlike others... Initially, as I read, I kept on thinking how MC changed after losing memories, but it was all explained later, and what a heart breaking journey it was... Definitely recommended!!

Ok ao moral of the story.... SAY WHAT'S ON YOUR MIND!

ML is the ideal lover of any girl... but we all know this kind of guy can never exist in real life... like you the guy that has it all and is also kind and caring... but mostly only to you cause he's so loyal that any b*tch that that get in your way he handle it himself... (drowning the b*tch in the tub... she didn't die don't worry our ML doesn't do that much of illegal sh*t but hehehe... more>> he is also not that kind so a different approach was needed... hehehe he made those b*tches wish they were dead instead?)

And now also want to have a son like Xiao Yun? but I'm still only 21 so for that dream to be realize, it's still far away...

Our FMC is sooo the best like common she got selective amnesia and has the memory of her high school or 1st year college self hehe so it's very realistic.... and even by the end everything was explained on why she was what she were..... also I hate our ml's mother like... she' THE MAIN CAUSE ON WHY OUR FML DECIDED TO IGNORE HER CHILD AND HUSBAND.... HEHEHEHEH no spoiler that's all....

P.s. it is worth mtl-ing hehe the headaches to understand the sentences in the mtl version are all worth it.... goodluck and happy reading... <<less

YOU MUST READ THIS NOVEL, YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED. Anyone who gave this novel lower than 4 Stars is blind. Just shut up if you haven't finished read the novel until the last chapter!!

"She used to want to be a bad person. When her kindness was trempled on again and again, when she was hurt badly again and again. She felt that being a bad person would make her life easier. So she abandoned her kindness and became cruel."

This novel is telling us about a "couple" whom never give up... more>> of each other. They are the light of each other.

The novel is well written, it was written with great plot. The Characters are all like-able, they have their own personalities and stories. And the story also ended beautifully. No holes. Everything is answered.

It's a fluffy romance that makes our heart warm, but the story itself still have many dramas. It's okay, the dramas in this story is the type that even me who is a soft-hearted person still can handle (I bit my lips everytime the b*** appeared tho).

The characters are realistic. We can understand all of their (esp. MC, ML, MC's Big Sister, ML's mother) decisions. But the b*** is always a b*** though. Don't mind them.

I even can understand why our little cute MC suddenly became a cruel woman (it's okay, she will be back as a cute spoiled little girl again haha), I can understand why our cold-hearted ML who is fighting for powers is a saint to our MC and their love-child only.

ML is a good husband and father, and our MC is a good mother and a clingy + spoiled wife ♡

There are about 4 love side stories and I love all of it, especially our MC's big sister!

It's a nice read and I love it :) <<less

At first, I thought I will hate MC. But then after learned the reason why she became like that to ML and her own son, I literally cry. My heart hurt so much for her. its a blue moon today, I don’t usually review books but the depth of the character building this book has despite the short length is touching me deeply and this review will be a long one. TL;DR MAKE SURE YOU READ IT FOR PLOT AND FLUFFS.

The length is perfect, the chapters are packed, the amount of fluff and ‘aaww’ moment is nicely sprinkled (I’m using this word cautiously) in every chapter interlaced with bits and pieces of plot that does not overwhelm you but gives you a slow but deep... more>> comprehension as to the secrets of the FL’s past and the mentality of other characters. I can’t remember a moment that I want to stop reading this, despite the translation quality (good enough and the TN and EN makes me laugh because we have similar brainwaves XD) or even the MTL that I braved through to the end. There may be moments when the green tea bit*h or the fake white lotus characters irritated me, but the anticipation for the repercussions of their actions left me in tenterhooks because we know what happens when yandere ML takes revenge for their FLs, (though I’d say this ML is not wholly yandere but almost big dog like at times XD) and when the revenge moment comes...?

I had had hope for the FL despite how her past self had behaved in her lost memory. Her sister’s and husband’s behavior towards her past may make us apprehensive but we know that she would not be the FL if she is a b**ch who ignores, abuses or neglect her child without rhyme nor reason. Because the writer had portrayed her in her memory lost state as a positive, hardworking and sweet girl, that gave me the hope that she was not as bad as how the memory pieces showed her. Maybe spoiler down below:

Spoiler

The FL was understandably a victim of a series of unfortunate events that plunged her into despair and added to that; the circumstances of her and ML’s meeting (since we all know how that usually goes in this type of storyline, I’ll skip the deets), followed by the betrayal of her supposed best friend c*m stepsister and boyfriend as we have known early on and her disappointment towards her father for not protecting her following all these event causing her 3 views to distort making her the person she was in those 5 missing years. Her state of mind was unstable, added on to that of her mother in law’s action and words during her confinement period causing her to lost hope and plunges her self esteem even further down at one of her most vulnerable period. Confinement period is very crucial for postpartum mothers and they are not to be overly stimulated emotionally especially when the FL was already stretched thin from all the events that were happening prior to her son’s birth, and just when she started building up hope following her son’s birth, it was again destroyed by her mother in law’s action.

[collapse]

As a woman, I have a deep empathy as to what had caused her to be the way she was in the sprinkles of memory that was unveiled. And I hope for anyone that is going to read this book that when all mysteries were unveiled, you will understand and empathize with the FL and even cheer for her while she was going through the process of accepting her circumstances during those period and

Spoiler

the build up towards her real feeling for the ML

[collapse]

This was a pleasant experience, an enjoyable plot line. An adorable FL, gentlemanly ML, princely son. Everything you could ever want in any literature you read is in here and maybe even more.

The way the writer weaves the story delights me, for me there was no unnecessary misunderstandings and I thing anything that is necessary was actually resolved by the end of the book. <<less

I really enjoyed the story. It may not be perfect but it was worth staying up all night for. Many readers hate the FL MC because she was violent and addicted to smoking. It is saddening that the child was also hurt because of her, but trust me if she was a real person, her heart would hurt more than any of us readers. This was not her real nature but she suffered blow after blow from the world.... From her best friend, lover, father, everyone and was falsely accused... more>> of arson when she saved a child from fire.... After all this, when her faith was returning to her, her mother in law kidnapped her newborn.... That was the final straw that broke the camel's back.... She had postpartum depression, inferiority complex, trust issues, etc. It would have really helped if she went to therapy but nobody suggested it in the story, I think mainly because everyone was afraid that she would loose the last faith in herself. But the story was really good.

The child is so cute... I wish God gave me such a good dumpling...

The ML had yandere vibes but I think it is justified that he grew up in such a household of power, greed and competition....

The side characters had also depth and they all reached their own happy ending.....

I loved it and I think you would not regret giving it a try....

I hope this review will help someone....

And lastly the translator and editor did a great job...... <<less

This novel is really cute and I love the cp. I'm also, a sucker for pining stories be it the ML or the MC as the one pining for the other and this is one of the best ones I've read.

The story was actually pretty similar to "hidden marriage" except obviously this is much shorter. I loved that novel so it's not a bad thing. There were a few things I didn't like that I'll list in the spoilers but it doesn't detract for my love of this novel.

Spoiler

the scheming sibling giving the MC drugs to sleep with the ML and subsequently having a child isn't something I like in either story.

[collapse]

Spoiler

now, I'm not super into one dimensional scheming characers or face slapping really that cnovels are rife full of, but the cp was cute enough to be able to suffer through all the evil adopted or half siblings in this novel

[collapse]

Spoiler

i don't don't really understand why she pushed the ML or their child away though, the she had low self-esteem so she didn't want to get close to them didn't make much sense to me as an explanation. I think the amnesia angle wasn't really needed either, reconciling with her full memory would have been nice instead.

[collapse]

Even so I'm glad the cp found eachother and resolved their misunderstandings.

Spoiler

also for people calling the MC abusive or the ML a r*pist you clearly don't have reading comprehension. The MC wasn't absusive to the ml, the first time was an accident and she wasn't trying to hurt him at all. She was feeling guilty after accidentally burning her son, so she tried to burn herself as a form of penance. The ML stopped her by letting himself get burned in place of her being injured, and for the other time she just wasn't thinking and pushed him away without thought over what she was doing. Imo, she didn't purposfully try to hurt anyone. Now for the ML calling that r*pe is too extreme he didn't r*pe her if anything it's a case of dubious consent. I'm frankly, not that bothered because giving the characters drugs to sleep together is pretty common as a trope in cnovels.

[collapse]

I do like that the child is actually loved by the ML and the cliche trope is subverted that the ML is jealous of his own child and low-key hates the kid for taking any of the mc's attention. He was mature and actually clearly loved their son.

The ML is like dream husband material he lets her do whatever she wants without any complaint and is so devoted to the MC. I just loved how he wouldn't let her go no matter what. Proactive mls that fight for their relationship are always a favorite of mine.😍

Spoiler

one last thing, I still hate the mls mother.😡 she had no right to take the mc's child from her. I hate that she even reconciled with that nasty women really

Yi Zeyan is the best ML for me, coz I agree with FL when she said, As long as I take that 1 step infront of him, he willingly will take those 99 steps.

Also, I really like how ruthless they are (FL & ML). Their "when you scratch someone's back, be prepared to be bitten twice as hard" attitude are the best.

Personally, Yi Zeyan is the most handsome name that I've encountered in CN.

And lets not forget about the other male characters and their lovestories. Them silently waiting for their... more>> woman. <<less

I think some readers have misunderstandings about this story. Though, it might not be perfect, it's very good and mature. There's drama, but the main plot is calm and beautiful.

It's not perfect, but I love the way they supported each other.

Undoubtedly, this story's ML won the Best Hubby Award because he really loves the FL a lot. He loves her in her most beautiful times and also in her worst times.

I really admired the ML when he did that because not everyone can accept their partner's flaws, especially, if they... more>> don't change after years, but this ML did it and with utmost respect for the FL's feelings.

I envy his unwavering love for her. After all, I've seen many passionate love that withered within the passage of time, but this ML instead became even more loving and understanding to her.

Spoiler

I don't like the FL's behavior after sbe gave birth because even if she felt depressed, she shouldn't hurt her loved ones like that. I was also angry when she accidentally puhed her son that it made her cigarette to hurt the cute boy, but when she broke down after that, I can't scold her anymore.

I kind of understand where her sense of inferiority came from and sympathizes with her, but it's not good for her to neglect the child. That's why I didn't really like her behavior that time, but thankfully they're fine now.

As for the ML, he's very good and honestly, most males in this story are very loyal and decent.

(except for some scummy cannon dodders)

Also,

Spoiler

I like the way the ML retaliated against the Lu brother and sister when they drugged the FL.

I really saluted when the ML didn't make the villainess get r@p3d like any other novels out there.

He made her have the taste of her own medicine, but also not dirtying his own hands in the process.

He just made her drink the drug and left her and her tied up brother inside a room.

THEY DIDN'T COMMIT in*est JUST TO BE CLEAR, THE ML JUST MADE HER DRINK A DRUG AND HAVE HER BROTHER WATCH HER SITUATION TOGETHER INSIDE A ROOM.

Considering that the Lu Sister wanted to be a mistress and the Lu Brother wanted to r@p3 the FL, it's a really well deserved punishment.

Lol, this story really made my standards for finding a partner go up again, I'll probably be single my whole life because of this.

Also, if you could look at the tags, I guess it should be the ML who's suffering from Stockholm Syndrome since he's a really really good and decent husband even when the FL is really mean to him. I really love this novel and I advise people to read this until the end to clear up some misunderstandings. Though, some of their hurtful actions shouldn't be justified, they're understandable given their situation and mental condition at that time.

This is really imperfect and I love the imperfections of some of the characters. It's just that I really hate how much time they wasted because of their indecisiveness.

However, it's still an amazing story and now it's 1am, my journey reading this has come to an end. I feel really nostalgic.

PS: Side stories are very cute and awesome. You should read it! <<less
