The ML really loved the FL, and she loved him too. They had a son, but you can tell that from the first ch. There wasn't much angst, because when he found her she explained why she left = to not kill him, and to not be married to him for more than 100 days, because for a fox to become a nine-tailed fox she has to be married to a human for 100 days without him knowing what she really is (so the husband can't know that the wife is a fox), but after that she can never meet that human again - she finds out she is pregnant and she doesn't want her kid to never meet his father (from what I understood, because I MTL-ed it) and she leaves him before the 100th day of marriage. He is not a human, but a tiger and the guardian of the mountain. He forgives her almost immediately, because he loves her and all he wants is for them to be together. He knew she was a fox from the beginning and was going to tell her he wasn't human, but because he knew she wanted to become a nine tailed fox he let her believe he was human - cause apparently as long as the fox is convinced that their husband is human (even if he is not) the conditions will be met and they will become a nine tailed fox - and was going to tell her about what he really is after their 100th days of marriage. She loses a tail (she only had 2) when she runs away, but in the end he turns her into a nine tailed fox. The 2 extra chs are about their relationship and one of them is about their son told kind of from the perspective of the FL - apparently she is worried about him because he is just like his father aka has no interest in relationships (because the ML was like that until he met her).

Even though he certainly has traits of the usual male leads that we usually see in novels, I really like that he showed moments of vulnerability where he needed to be comforted by the FL, about the insecurities he had about their relationship and he also blushed sometimes. This was more in the extras and remember that I MTL-ed so I might've misunderstood some things, but I think I got the overall idea.
