In a typical ABO society, alphas are in dominant positions while omegas are merely child-bearing resources, laying in the palm of the alphas’ hands. There was no freedom, no human rights, and no right to regular education. Their main duty in life was to get pregnant and give birth. Until one day, everything reversed.

Well I completely mtl this and feel kinda ambivalent. I was initially intrigued as I thought this would bring another fresh take on the ABO genre, but it seems this story was mainly to make the ML suffer to the point of mind-break after a dog-blooded plot. I see people ask for recs on the forum for abusing the ML but I generally don't like it when it goes overboard to enjoy the suffering of others like in revenge stories, but on lovers. On the other hand, I like to... more>> see protagonists struggle through internal and external challenges to foster character development. But I didn't really see the MC do much character developing, which is why I suppose I preferred the ML despite starting out as scum because it felt like he had more flaws, characterization and development.

Plot/end spoilers

And while MC's off enjoying life for several years after his death is faked, the ML is actually helping to improve society after the advent of the "virus" while the people around the ML are just commenting how "crazy" and broken the ML is, talking to hallucinations and obsessively living in the past. I just felt sad. Like while MC has his sister and family and the terrorists that faked his death, the ML had no one. He didn't remarry or anything, but no one helps out in terms of how mentally ill he became. Like when the MC finally met the ML again at the end, the ML thought it was another apparition of his and while he's talking about his love for MC, MC tells ML to remember that MC hates him. Then the story ends just after the ML has an inkling of hope after realizing MC was still alive... Like what romance. I'm just thankful for the extra that gave me a point in reading through this story.

This is foremost a romance story, so when there wasn't any romantic development all the way to the end, I was frustrated for having read this. I had originally thought it ended on a hopeful open ending after much dog-blood; had I not realized that there was a sweet extra and looked around to find it, I'd have rated this lower.

Edit: I lowered my rating because having thought about the story again

and having worked at psychiatric sites and interacting with actual patients, I just find this story distasteful in how the author uses mental illness as like another way to punish the ML; the extra does not make up for it

The Alpha was really an a**hole so I gave 4. Nevertheless, I could say the story was good to the point I was able to finish this immediately. Lol I do not want to provide spoiler, just want to mention this is just like some typical novels that the gong will become a better person at the end. But you might still get hooked because of the plot.

Also, if you want to MTL this, please read it on the official site since aside from being free, you can support too... more>> the author. <<less

I really liked it, I even struggled through the poetic wordiness of the Chinese version. It's quite sweet and exciting, and I'll definitely go back and reread once my Chinese improves or it gets completely translated—the first possibility being more likely than the second. Be sure to search for the extra to get a complete story!

I rate this 5 since the plot is interesting and how they executed the story was great. But really at first I thought that this will be a lighter Abo story but turns out it is more realistic and heavy weighted type, with angst and tragedy (?) I guess. But before you choose to left out this novel I suggest you to try reading it first. Believe me, you'll get captivated eventhough you'll get desperate reading it lol.
