TLDR: Extreme sum- just read the manhwa if u r interested. The story is pretty interesting, but all the developments and plot structures are the exact same. The novel is hence very repetitive. This wasn't as much as a problem towards the start, but once the MC and co get a bit more op than he already was, the story is just now getting milked dry. The translation quality also drops later on. Rarely chapters seemed to be cut off. One time there was even a full fkn chapter skipped. But mostly due to the repetitiveness towards the latter parts, I suggest manhwa for the spoonfed contents

This is one of the very few novels on this site that also has a manhwa form yet still does good in novel format,... more>> as I find most of these novels with manhwa adaptations, the novel is a skeletal framework and is also in a style format suited for spoon feeding such as many action scenes. The novel was awake to stand on its own, but this was only for a duration.

This story really just boils down to the same exact thing. It is on a repeat repetitive plot structure with tons of action. Every arc development and execution is the same. Every part of the development really feels the exact same to me. I'd be able to continue this in the manhwa, but the novel is just slowly strangling you.

It doesn't help that the latter chapters start dropping in translation quality. YongLibrary is already a bit infamous for this in the translation circle. Once I got to the China arc around c130s, part of the story were also completely left out, and then a full chapter got skipped in the auction scene.

To me, the novels prime parts were in the start. Once the MC becomes a constellation, the novel lost a lot of its uniqueness, and the MC / co became a bit too op. There is no longer any suspense ever, though there already wasn't, but it's even more so now. And from there on, for the next 100ish so chapters, it really is just the same bare bones formula.

I wana rate this as it feels like a 3.5, but I feel like the quality would drop later on as I only got to the halfway point and the quests were getting kinda bland <<less

Very similar to other stories where the world turned into a survival game with monsters. It has some resemblance to Omniscient reader's viewpoint in that the deities are watching the whole game and they are seeking avatars.

It's entertaining with a yandere girl with a rare skill following him and his regression that gave him some unfair advantage compared to others. There's a good chance that there's a much greater conspiracy going on. But I haven't read even half of the story (I am reading the manhwa as the novel doesn't... more>> have a translation) so I can't really tell if we'd see revelations similar to solo leveling. <<less

Updated thoughts:

it's not anything groundbreaking, nor is it a masterpiece. It's very lacking on the romantic side until the end. That said, it is a fun journey and has a bit of its own charm that feels different from other stories in this genre. It has a decent, if a tad cliched ending. I think if the author was a better writer this story could've been excellent, as is though it's simply decent to good category. 3.5 stars

should you read it? If you like the first 20-40 chapters or the... more>> the manhwa, the story stays the same level of quality the whole way through. —Original review from c142–

Currently about half way through so just writing some basic thoughts if you're thinking about picking it up.

Story has some interesting mechanics that are well put together. Sometimes the arcs feel a bit too narrow, in that it's usually MC + one or two others that are the focus for the arc while everyone else just disappears for awhile. It's not a bad thing, but probably a weak spot of the author.

Definitely feels a bit different to other stories in this genre which is why I'm still reading it, but the jury is out on if it's a good or great story. It'll all depend on how the author can pull together the strings they've laid so far.

oh also, the characters are a bit shallow right now imo. They don't feel too deep, but that's also typical of the genre. If you want deep characters go read Sss su*cide.

tl:dr - it's not bad, if you like this genre give it a try <<less

I really like how this novel (and manhwa) execute the whole "world turns into a survival game" trope. In this "game", the MC can't always rely on his future knowledge as he has already made some drastic changes to the world, so he has to adapt to the changes accordingly. In particular, the FL died very early on in the first round, ... more>>

Actually she might not have died as early we originally thought

[collapse]
along with her, protagonist decided to strive for group survival as he realized how much better it could've gone if he didn't only think for himself. The MC is also not nearly as dense as some of the other MCs out there and he actually puts his teammates' strengths to work instead of only trusting his own ability. Not a bad read at all, worth your time. <<less
