On Jiang Nai’s first day at work, her colleagues gossiped that everyone in the department was on edge because the new boss was decisive and ruthless. They advised her to be cautious in her actions.

Jiang Nai nodded repeatedly, but when she turned around, she saw the new boss standing at the tea room entrance with a cold expression. Her colleagues broke into a sweat, apologized profusely, and quickly ushered her out.

After work, Jiang Nai went home, washed up, and lay down on the bed. Before long, someone entered the room, removed their coat, and stood in front of the mirror to unfasten their tie. Jiang Nai propped herself up on her elbows, hesitated for a moment, and finally said, “Aren’t you a bit too fierce at work…”

The man in front of the mirror turned to look at her and gave a faint smile. “I didn’t say anything bad about you at work today. Where am I being fierce?”

First of all thank you to the translator who did a good job. The story is fluffy and you understand why the FL is so insecure and shy when you learn about her past and her father's family. The relationship between the two mains caracters grow slowly then it'sfeel very guenine and the description of the Fl's feelings are realistics. I usually dislike cold and flawless CEO with big ego and dominaring but the ML also have his reasons and if you are familiar with the business world, you would... more>> understand why he is so aloof. He Will be better later on. That 's what made me like the story: the protagonists are well described and their behavior are credible. And lastly I should have read the tags because there were some steamy parts...I didn't expect it...

So I recommand this one it's cute, mature, never boring and there is a big twist 🤫 <<less

The foundation in the first half story are good, you just need a to be a little patient.

I have to keep remind me that FL's image is soft, delicate, and feminin so when I saw her being submissif I can still read. Because I'm used to reading strong FL.

I like how the way ML cherished her. I hoper there'll be more extra. Thanks for translating

I'm a sucker for love after marriage trope. MC and ML are so cute together. ML wasn't in love with her at first but they fell for each other after getting married. I love how he stayed by her side even when she decided to... more>>
Spoiler

split from her family after finding out that her mother died and her grandparents kept it from her so she would get married. They were essentially using her mother as a hostage so MC will marry ML.

[collapse]

There was some angst when she decided to leave ML, since from the beginning she and everyone knew he was marrying her for practical reasons, and without her identity she was no use to him anymore. But he proved her wrong and wanted to be with her for her. It's cliche, but I love that shit. <<less

Not much to say except that it is a well-done arranged marriage trope where both were actively accepting of their roles and relationship and then furthered into their romantic one. ML has the most growth in the sense of husband to hubby (iykyk) :P

I have to say one of the extra chapters really took me by surprise at the hinted sweetness... what a lively couple is all I can say XD

ML is a typical CEO iceberg husband who eventually melts and is much more of a volcano in certain aspects...... more>> but anyway, it was fully balanced regarding family, relationship, and friendship drama where it was never too much or overwhelming.

It is a very decently entertaining novel and one I'm sure my fellow love-after-marriage trope lovers will surely appreciate. <<less

Too slow. The female lead is frustrating!

Everything is done by him. He takes the initiative every time.

She is shy. I liked this new perspective at first, but as the story progressed, I just got more and more frustrated.

... more>> The romance is basically driven by the ML, while the FL is just there, letting life take her wherever.

I got really annoyed, I admit. I expected a lot of "growth" from her, but day after day went by, and nothing changed.

So I stopped here. I read to feel good, and even though the settings were new and intriguing, the female lead ruined it all for me.

In short, I didn’t like it, but I recommend it if you want a slow-burn romance with protagonists who give you plenty of secondhand embarrassment. If you want to see a female lead focused on her career who doesn’t care much about romance. If you want to see a male lead who is cold on the outside but gentle and understanding on the inside — he always knows exactly when to push. <<less

Another after marriage story that I enjoy. After starting the novel, I anticipated a typical story development which I am SO glad didn't happen.

A typical story development will be " the ML has seen the FL when she was a teenager and fell hopelessly in love " and waited to marry her. I am SO glad this didn't happen, otherwise it will have been too passe.

Not bad, but not my cup of tea.

I like my FL's with a little backbone y'know. Initially, I can excuse her behavior because she's guarding herself well due to experience...

And maybe because she's young, but she gets flustered by anything and everything, like the accidental touches of skin with him. For me, that's so tedious.

Especially since that's the plot, her being hyper aware of everything about him.

So yeah, not for me. It's just tedious.

A very light and easygoing story. A commercial marriage turning into mutual love. FL is too pitiful losing her parents and ending up with the cold and heartless grandparents.

Storybuilding is ok, more maturity needed in dialogues.

I love the romance hereee, it feels natural and not forced. Also adore FL's character. She's indifferent yet sympathetic at the same time. Timid yet courageous too. The plot is not draggy. ML showed the biggest character development here.

This is 3.5 stars from me

It's sweet with a bit of angst love story about a married couple falling in love after marriage. It's slice of life because almost the whole story is just them getting along and their day to day interactions.

Their relationship progression felt natural and I specially liked the FL. Not that she was relatable it's just her character was quite understandable. As for the ML he is fine nothing special nothing bad though he is possessive over her but it isn't like the domineering possessiveness and... more>> actually the possessiveness is mutual. Both the FL and ML are equally possessive it's just FL is more understanding than ML.

Overall I liked it though I started getting bored near the end.... <<less
