Like the world building is really cool and has some really amazing features that I can totally dig, but there is slow/no romance and horribly repetitive. The MC should also be so heavily buffed that idk why there's even villians to worry about but yeah. I really only read this because it has some really nice features, its long, and nothing else to f*cking read.

Thats not all tho, literally everyone seems to be braindead while the MC has 12 year old intelligence its f*cking surreal. Also by far the worse f*cking thing in this ln is the fact that his "legendary class" is the most overhyped garbage ive ever f*cking seen. Like it doesn't give him any benefits its completely worthless. It's quite a shame for such a story with so much potential to be ruined by an ignorant author yet again. I just had to add the wordbuilding has so much f*cking potential that it could've been the best ln to ever exist, the author f*cking massacred this light novel...

Edit 2: It's still going and will mostly keep on going. I don't like the sequel that much and all of its repetition but its still one of the best virtual reality type ln's because of just how extensive the world building was and its potential. It really keeps one dreaming. So if you want to give it a read just do.

This is tr*sh. I've read over 1000 chapters. I can't give something that I enjoyed enough to spend so much time reading less that 3 stars, so I'll just list pros and cons.

Pros: Novelty. First translated novel I ever read. Cool concept, love a lot of the world building. A fair bit of mystery that needs to be addressed. Author makes a lot of sub-plots so you always want to know what happens next

Cons: Characters are SHALLOW. So shallow. Everyone is pretty dumb to make the MC shine. Somehow the... more>> MC was so incompetent in his last life, but still top 0.01%? There are a lot of things in the plot that don't make sense. Author bites of more than he can chew, as there are so many sub plots that some end up neglected and forgotten in the end, even though there were meant to be cconsequences. Fair bit of retconning.

Everyone wants to be the MC, and MC is too cool. At least thats what the author tries to stress every chapter, as we go from random character PoVs to see everyone being amazed by him, men jelous, girls thirsty, enemies asking how he dares. Repetitive plot.

MC has to be the biggest "Alpha" in ever situation, but really it reeks insecurity "'I offer you 5% of our company if you do X.' 'Make it 20%' 'No' 'You have sealed your fate, bad luck you made a decision that is 100% rational but you are against the MC' ". If I was a side character in this novel it would suck, because MC is going to inevitably win, but he is actually so arrogant whilst being pretty ignorant as well. Author loves him, retconning galore to make MC always appear two steps ahead of the competition, having prepared to take advantage of a sitatuation even though it only has been mentioned for the first time that chapter.

There is also the fact that he treats pretty girls so differently to how he treats guys, then criticises other guys who do the same. He is steadily building his harem, even though it doesn't look like he will ever make move. If some of the guilds that have helped him were run by pretty women instead of men, he would likely have helped them out instead of doing the bare minimum in exchange for their loyalty.

Despite all this, I read over 1000 chapters, so I can't give it less than 3 stars, that would be dishhonest imo. I think its been only getting worse though, so its probably only 2 stars going forward which was why I dropped it <<less

I enjoy getting lost in reading, I decided to try this story because it had a lot of chapters and an interesting description and for about 400 chapters this story was decent, not great but not awful, but nearing the late 500's I started getting bored. It was just the same thing happening over and over, someone underestimates and threatens MC's guild, gets defeated, and someone stronger comes along. Copy, paste, and repeat. Finally caught up with the raw version of this novel. The story was really good and it was fun reading this novel but untimely hiatus of this novel has forced me to drop this novel now. I’ve tried to like this novel I honestly have. But the small details that the author keeps missing and the over the top game elements that defy what we call a video game just keep nagging away at me and I can’t get myself to continue this novel.

Initially I thought that MC is Solo player. But not even some chapters later I found out that he forms a team and the team members leaches off of MCs OPness. The team members are all worthless just there to be awed by MCs power. MC is such a dumb person. Instead of playing Solo, he helps his team members which reduces his leveling speed by many times.

Idk why everyone is crying in the comments, but this is one of the greatest VRMMORPG novels ever. The MC gets transported 10 years back into the past before he started playing the game. With his knowledge of the future, he starts his conquer of the virtual world. The world is amazingly built, the MC is a pragmatic, clever, and experience person. The systems in the world are amazingly integrated. In general, this novel is brilliant. I wasn't bored even for a second.

The theme of the story is good, with detailed progression of the MC.

However along the story, the author writting style begin to deteriorate, repeating information on each chapter as if the readers have short-term memory loss, and further spamming the paragraphs with repetitive sentences. Hence on the whole chapter usually there are only two paragraphs worth of new progression.

It's not a masterpiece or anything like that. It's pandering, a cheap thrill, full of wish fulfillment, plot armor, without any character development. But it does all of above very smoothly and lacking any of the cons of a light novel that I hate like harem and a hypocritical MC. This basically is my guilty pleasure.

Yes the novel have lot of loopholes, repeatability and cliche plot but yet the story as a whole is fairly enjoyable and development of plot is quite good as well.

Ok, so I wrote a whole long bit, and then decided I was probably describing a harem genre and I must obviously not like harem genres. I'm assuming now that in harem dramas all women break down into distinct types with no real personality of their own just semi unique backstories and motivations and an autopilot dependency and brainless at full power when MC is around. Including the ravenous to fight harpie type, or down to screw voracious overly s*xual type. Seriously I started out liking some and then mehhing and even disliking them all by this point. Wait, I think I like two.

Anyway. Apparently. Harem and I don't get along.

So let's talk about the MC having repeating moments of award winning shrewdness followed by being as useful as a doorknob with no door (and no sock to knock ppl out with).

Let's talk about the never ending this is a weapon/skill/whatever, and here are the stats, repeat ad nauseum that seem like filler with pay per word. With Rewbirth of a Thief I quickly picked up on skills, and even armor levels. With Strongest Sword, there's a lot of SKIP. Basically I treat pages and pages like unwanted cutscenes. Cause it's points and math and look at the skill/weapon/whatever I (the author) created or reskinned; a whole bunch of needless trivia for every find, update and battle. Just... endless tr*sh. A soap opera of repeated information that's unneeded and unwanted. See how I repeated myself multiple times? It's like that. But 5x more boring.

So, why have I still been reading? Mostly because the concept of lucking into rebirth and thus foreknowledge but also unexpected fortuitous encounters is enjoyable enough if I skip enough of all the rest. Plus, I enjoy the face slapping, when I can find it in the midst of all the other rubbish.

If you want to actually ENJOY a similar premise? Go read Thief. or Reign of the Hinters. This is for insomnia, postponing college papers, fighting offf depression with tedium, and an alternative to wine.

NOT figure out that he alone is fueling all the updates because the system's basing humanity's potential for progress on him alone. Why is it doing this? Dunno. Very cliche novel. It's a constant repeat of: Find OP item, describe why it's rare, fight, win, somehow become barely the same as others without OP items. There are interesting parts about his money making schemes and growing the guild but most of the text is spent describing each battle in detail which is so pointless because the hero NEVER loses. The characters don't change or grow in personalities or maturity. People pick fights over trivial matters. So boring and repetitive after awhile.

I love this novel. I am actually shocked that there are so many low reviews. I guess it depends on what you are looking for in a reincarnation story.

People are complaining that the MC is too OP but like the guy has 10 years of knowledge over everyone. MC has the chance to grab a hold of opportunities b4 the rest of the world even know they exist. Author is simply trying to make things grander than they are. To the point this shet gets boring. Firstly 1 day is 36 freaking hours inside the game. I was so desperately hoping this would be like Rebirth of the Thief. It is not, so much time is spent in the VR world with barely 1% in the real world, its actually a joke at this point.

Some early team mate of the MC are gone. And never mention again, especially those player that he team up to get the 1st clear dungeon of the game. Also I think the author wants to collect all the stronger hot female player to join his team and change the old buddies.

Lastly, where is the assassin's alliance ? Did they got quit playing the game ? :D

I stopped reading before 100 chapters because the story was in a way immature, not to mention the author couldn't do better story telling than average middle schooler.

But then at some later point I got bored because there were no more unread updated novels in my library, so I decided to peer into my reading history, then I took this up again.

It's slow paced novel with one thing that other vrmmorpg novel doesn't have and that was a long story and a marine fight (well it happen at 1k+ chap though)

And yeah it can be called bad if u are seeking a thrill of adventure with hardship of MC but if you just seeking pleasure of a overpowered MC with his xiaxia bullsh*t and light story that won't make a heartache like another second chance novel that always followed by "revenge" tag which almost nonexistent in this novel
