This novel is incredibly similar to Rebirth Of Chen An. So the question is which of these authors got their story ripped-off first? haha. Anyways I gave 5 stars because even if I have read a similar plot, I´m a sucker for cool-headed and a vicious MC. Which I hope he is, it´s still only 4 chapters but I like the plot which is about modern "mafia", if you have read Rebirth Of Chen An you know what I mean. Seems like the ML will be the yandere type (not... more>> complaining) but it´s still unclear who he is.

anyways give it a try, you won´t waste your time, MC is level-headed, he doesn´t take anybody´s bullishit, there is a solid plot, the writing is surprisingly good and flows smoothly. The translation is really good. If you want a comment to convince you, here it is.

Edit: woaahh so I just finish chapter 5 and guess who befriends MC? An international secret elite police.... juuust like in the other novel -.-

ok somebody needs to tell me which novel should be accused of plagiarism. I mean I´m still gonna be reading them both, but come on this is not cool.

Edit 2: Alright I´ve read the raws now up to 44 chapters and you can relax folks. Around the 12th chapter the novel starts to deviate from Rebirth Of Chen An and takes a completely different route. The story picks up really quick and wahh MC´s brilliance and smarts is astounding. There are some really interesting twists and turns. <<less

Wow. Interesting.... Really similar to Rebirth of Chen An at first (I check the year, this book published in 2012 and chen an in 2014) maybe they got same idea from somewhere.

I like this story, gonna give this novel 5 star like the other novel haha <3

This is so good omfg! The tension and mystery hits you on the face like a leaf blower: intense but refreshing and fun. Su Bai and the male lead are characters we females wouldn't mind having a one night stand with!

Their actions and descriptions are what you'd call a man. The male hormones oozing out of my phone screen literally makes my legs quake and my fingers tremble all while my throat becomes dry.

The plot is well done and the manipulations that su bai does fit in line with my... more>> dark side.

Granted I Mtl'ed this story up to chapter 49, Its very interesting to see him take his throne back and deal with those backstabbing "children" of his.

Although I'm not close to the end, I am at the part where Su Bai is once again accepted as the head of the family as "Su Mo" using the identity as the successor of the family. And throughout the process of Su Bai's actions in gaining his throne back, you can definitely see the struggle he had when dealing with Chen Yuan and Xiaohai (That's what it said in the raws). Su Bai raised three children and like Chen yuan's fanatical love for Su Bai, the hacker, Xiohai, has the same love for Chen Yuan. Although Chen Yuan says he loves Su Bai, Chen Yuan's scenes with Xiaohai makes me wish hed die quicker. When you integrate yourself into the story and into Su Bai's shoes to the best of your ability, if one day the child you doted on betrayed you, especially in a world where you killed your own parents and siblings with your own hands, that is unforgivable. To step on the bones of your family in order to create and empire, would you really allow someone, a child you raised, take it away, all of your hard work and ambition? Absolutely not, especially when you gave them everything and only asked for loyalty in return in the calculating underworld. Which is why I love Simon, the other child he raised (That's what it said the raws) that dull man really respects su bai and his loyalty makes me want to punish Chen Yuan and Xiaohai even more, especially when I think they had s*x (The raws weren't clear so I'm not sure but inkling towards it). I don't mind it but this once again falls in line with the loyalty thing that Chen Yuan clearly doesn't have. The male lead is Tang Xiao btw

That aside, I really love this and the admiration su bai garners doesn't surprise me because his charisma is so astounding. I also love the male lead, ahhh, they fit so perfectly together I wanna punch them in the face for all the pda despite that fact id be punt to Pluto.

It's not this one which was plagiarized this book was released on 2012 and Rebirth of Chen An was releases on 2014 sadly everyone read that first don't even look at the year it was released and accuses the original work to be the plagiarized one its really really sad. I hope people can check the fact twice before throwing serious accusation like plagiarism it doesn't do harm to check the facts before coming to a conclusion please don't be blinded and biased just because you read the other work... more>> first. <<less

Honestly, someone in the comments said it was like the rebirth of chen An.. That's where all differs. Chen An was a good novel, this one is boring, the MC reborn into a fat nephew did seem to have lost his IQ too

He was a master with iron will, not easily moved. Since his rebirth, the author justify the fact MC became dumb, I mean low-key, because he doesn't want people to see how different he is from the original nephew.

But at the same time, he does everything he can... more>> to behave differently. The real problem is that there's no plot, at least a lack of logical rhythm, and it's not pleasant to read.

The fact that the tl is subpar may be one of any factors for not reading this joke. <<less

I started reading Rebirth of Chen An while I was waiting for more updates of this novel. But guys, the more I read Rebirth of Chen An, the more I prefer this novel.

I like much more this author's writing style, it's smoother and the sentences are better linked. On the other hand, when I read Rebirth of Chen An, sometimes I feel like a robot wrote it, I mean, the division between the sentences is too sharp; it doesn't feel like a story of characters being narrated, but everything happens... more>> following a rigid sequence of actions, almost like a enumeration.

Also, I find Master Su much, much more interesting and lovely than Chen An. And so on with every character. It seems that Reincarnation of Master Su was published two years before, so I'm constantly comparing both stories and every element in Rebirth of Chen An seems like a cheap copy of Reincarnation of Master Su.

I'm sorry for those who enjoyed a lot Rebirth of Chen An, but for me it's quite bland and emotionless, like, literally, I've been unable to describe a proper emotion from any scene so far.

Everything happens with no pause in between each event and it's described in a way I don't feel like something important is occurring, since the protagonist does everything so easily and he doesn't allow the reader to deepen in his feelings and thoughts. It's like "I / he felt chills through my / his body when I / he saw him" and that's it. I know it's supposed to express fear, tension or discomfort, but that's the only description of his emotional state.

Nothing more, nothing less.

And with that am I supposed to empathize or to understand or to feel immersed in the story?

Don't misunderstand, I'm angry, but pretty annoyed, since in the comments everyone is like "oh, this novels is very similar to Rebirth of CA, let's see how is it!".

Guys, this novel was previous to Rebirth of CA, and, on top of that, it's incredibly better written, so, please. It's like saying "oh, your mother looks like you". Absurd, right? So please, give this novel the love it deserves.

I don't know who copied who, but this is exactly the same as Rebirth of Chen An. The plot in the beginning is exactly the same but the writing style isn't that similar so I'll just wait for more chapters to pop out first before I make my overall review.

  1. MC is very cunning and smart. He is also very sweet honestly. His character is easily to be misunderstood of but he really does try his best.
  2. MC is def ranked as one of my top 5 fav MCs now.
  3. ML is also very cunning & scheming and smart. Matches will with MC.
  4. MC and ML duo = dangerous duo
  5. MC is a bit distrusting at the start and there will be a few misunderstandings with the ML but later on its all fluff

Instead he just says "I like you" "I love you" "I wanna be with you" "I'm courting you" "I'll make you trust me" "you can trust me" BLA BAL BAL I KNOW ITS CLICHE BUT ITS THE EXACT COMFORT OF WORDS THE MC NEEDED. YOULL KNOW WHY LIKE OH OUR POOR MC raised three lids just for two to betray him and pull shet. How ungrateful. The ML is seriously there for the MC. SO SWEET YKNOW.

    LIKE THIS DOOD BE IN LOVE WITH HIS FOSTER DAD LIKE??? He adopted you and he was nice to you but he repays all that by imprisoning the MC feeding drugs and fkin r*pin him. That's why later in the story the MC gets a bit impulsive on pushing the ML away cos this KID fkin auctions off the weird disgusting pics he took while violating the MC to show that he owns the MC. Really pathetic if you ask me. His ending was deserved. He keeps goin Ily ily bs then send creepy ass flwers then does all these kinda weird shet liek?? I LOVE HOW THE MC BE THE ONE TO END HIM HAHAHAHAHAHA anyways yes. The third kid also very disgusting he loves this first kid who does all this disgustang shet and blows up the MC plane which BTW the kid who proclaims that he loves the MC knows too but lets him off. Then later that kid still be brave tryna pull shet and kidnap MC again then shows how he used technology to make his face look like the MC so that weird disgusting kid will like him BUT THIS FLOPPIE DIDNT SEe it comin when the people who took with him is the people MC trained so he gets killed in the end. DESERVED. I hated this two ungrateful wicked brats so much.

this novel hits so many of my buttons! (Older power!bottom, manly gay couple, intense suspense)

The plot is wonderful! Master Su is definitely a cunning old fox who need no one to save him. Except that he died right before he can start on his plan save himself. XD

Do note that this story is from Su Bai's point of view so he's an unreliable narrator. He is at first glance, a cold and ruthless man but is actually a person who loves very deeply and will not harm the people... more>> he loves. This is both his strength and weakness and is what causes the events that unfolds before and later.

Su Bai blames himself for how his 3 children turned out :' (Due to that, he also lets them off initially even after the betrayal and also because he still loves them as a father

Regarding the romance, the relationship did not start out easily and MC and ML have conflicts due to both of them being who they are. The ML tried very hard to win MC over. As MC has been recently betrayed, he doesn't quite succeed but they did end up in a physical relationship first. I really like how their romance developed after that.

Simon x Tang Ka is very cute. Simon has gap moe (to me) ! He's very straightforward when wooing Tang Ka. I like how Su Bai and Tang Xiao sets them up together and how Su Bai gives Simon tips to improve their relationship in the extra. The other side CP is kind of dodgy and the sketchness and unhappiness is totally preventable if they actually communicate.

Ok story. The plot outline should be interesting but the writing lacks depth. Maybe if there was more character development, then I'd be able to feel invested in MC, Su Bai, and understand why MC is worthy of these powerful people falling for and/or worshipping MC (it's similar to a harem).

At Chapter 47 (where translator SilentFish left off), my invested feeling as a reader for the protagonist is shallow. However, I'm curious about the rest of the plot but still not interested enough to read the difficult to... more>> read MTL. So gonna keep this on hold in case it gets picked up again.

MC was under house arrest by Chen Yuan, the child he raised. CY was in love with MC but it was one sided.

The ML is Tang Xiao. He is a rich businessman but his other identity is "T", the leader of the world's largest mercenary group.

MC raised three children. The first was CY. The second child was Simon D. He is a famous assassin who is loyal to MC.

The third child MC raised was Xiao Hai. He was the one who planted the bomb that blew up MC's plane. XH was in love with CY and wanted to free CY from his obsession with MC. Also, he had noticed that MC was killing off CY's supporters, even though MC was under house arrest.

Of Note: CY had a super crazy obsession for MC. He betrayed MC not for power or fame but to be able to stay by MC's side. He noticed that MC was making moves to split from him. So he betrayed MC with XH's help. CY pampered MC with the best but he also drugged and r*ped MC.

At this point, there is a conflict in words and action. Even though MC says that he never loved anyone, even though MC felt humiliated by CY's actions, and even though MC's pride is gigantic, he was reluctant to kill CY. MC has an affection of CY but not the romantic type. I think MC would let CY live if CY leaves him alone.

Aside from the novel's similarity to Rebirth of Chen An, there's the fact that the MC here is much much weaker and that's just not what I'm looking for. It's annoying how any character can just insult him in their own way and aside from words, he cannot do anything to them. I would've like to see how he builds up his own power again but noooo, he has to be lowkey af. So annoying. Nothing new here, unfortunately.
