I also like that for once concubine daughters are not always vilified, even though the world their living in is not so good towards concubine born children the fact that some characters and the female main character herself Yunuan are concubine born and seen as good is making me feel great. Generally while reading historical based books those children and people are ALWAYS seen as villain the only way for them to go against their fate I would say is to be submissive and in awe of the female lead or male lead and it's extremely unpleasant to read for me!

Of course concubine born children are sometimes evil in the book but at least their origin are not related to their motives

The grand Prince was killed in an explosion he did himself but the lack of details was infuriating, he rworded so many women, kworded even more people and almost destroyed the whole country but all his ending was was a quick death I can't support it.

From the moment they knew that they had feelings for each other, even before their marriage, Yunuan and Gangxi talked about having children, they talked about parenthood and their wishes so I really thought I would have many chapters about it. Describing her pregnancy, their first feelings after discovering Yunuan was with a child, the birth, the first time the parents meet the child... but no during the 2 last chapters there was a time skip, she already gave birth to a cute son, and she was already pregnant with another. The final chapter ended with her going into labor and that's it!

I also would like to add that I was disappointed her brother did not appear at all during the second half. I had hope for this novel to finally have a husband/brother in law non jealous relationship but instead my baby just disappeared 😪
