Shi Yan returned from the endless despair and chaos of the apocalypse, reborn, with a sly gleam in his eyes that was quite different from before. He secretly vowed that in this lifetime, he would find peace and stability, making ‘clinging to a Golden thigh and lying down to win’ his ultimate survival principle.

And Fu Siming—renowned and formidable in the apocalypse—was precisely the towering ‘tree’ he chose, strong enough to shield him from the wind and rain.

Fu Siming looked at Shi Yan trailing behind him, with a seemingly obedient and harmless smile always on his face. Shi Yan would now and then offer timely little helps and always spoke words of admiration in a soft, sweet voice.

Though Fu Siming suspected this person had ‘ulterior motives’, in this danger-ridden apocalyptic world, Shi Yan’s occasional displays of unique insight and quick wit made him silently accept the presence of this ‘little follower’.

Unknowingly, the two grew increasingly in sync—and Fu Siming found himself more and more concerned with this not-so-innocent companion.
