[The gong (seme) and shou (uke) have no blood relation, are also not in the same household register, do not share a father nor a mother, this is a serious declaration.] ~~~

In this life, Shu Ning was a joke, even to his death. Treated as a stepping stone by his biological mother, opening a path for his younger brother, only to realize all this when dying.

Shu Ning, who was thirsty for maternal love, was extremely hardworking, acting as a well-behaved child in front of his father, while fighting with his elder brother, although his IQ was not high, he still played dirty tricks to the utmost. Constantly being encouraged by his mother’s warm feelings, the more he obstructed his elder brother, the braver he got. When he met with a mishap, his mother took his younger brother and escaped to a faraway place, leaving Shu Ning alone to bear the crime and get thrown into jail.

Love is more solid than gold, his lover decided to embrace another man.

Attaching great importance to friendship, not only did they take the time to visit Shu Ning in jail and laugh at him, they even rubbed salt in the wound.

His most loved and respected mother did not even bother to show her face.

However, when he closed his eyes, his elder brother came. Truth was, it was Shu Heng who had arranged for him to be able to live comfortably in prison.

If he hadn’t followed them and was a clever little brother, would it all have changed? In the blink of an eye, Shu Ning returned to the time where he was a junior high school student.

Two-faced, controlling elder brother gong X Clever and cute little wolf shou.

Elder brother thinks that younger brother is very cute, very adorable, very soft, how could he be this close to the ideal?

The younger brother is thinking, hahaha… that elder brother with facial nerve paralysis could blush? What happened to your cold and handsome image? Becoming foolish with just one kiss? What happened to your mysophobia? I’m just sitting in your lap and your whole body stiffened up? ╮(╯▽╰)╭

To prevent his elder brother from thinking that Shu Ning was after the company, Shu Ning relied on memories from his previous life to earn a bit of money, becoming financially independent while being a silkpants, also slowly raising that soft and immature elder brother, Shu Ning felt that these days were just too comfortable. However… why is his elder brother becoming more and more strange? What is this sleeping together for warmth? What is this good morning and good night kiss? Do you really take me for a brat? Σ( ° △ °|||)

Note: The ‘Silkpants’ part means mean a rich and hedonistic son.

OK this is a novel that you have to make sure you know exactly what you’re dipping your toes into. God forbid you go in expecting it to meet your tastes, because this story is definitely an acquired taste. I just want to emphasize that to prospective readers.

Read the summary, tags, & if you’re okay with ambiguous in*esty-but-not-really relationships on top of a shotacon situation, then BE MY GUEST. If those red flags are too much, then I suggest you read another story.

My 2-cents:

I knew what kind of dog-blood plot I was dipping my toes in & to be completely honest, I was excited. It’s been a while since I’ve read a plot like this & the closest thing I’ve had recently was one of the universes in your typical world-hopping stories. A modern revenge-rebirth tale starring an MC who wishes to seek vengeance on those who pushed him to his death in the past, including his own birth mother & brother. What better way to do this then by hugging the golden thigh of his non-blood-related older brother...

I will admit some factors made me uncomfy but I had to repeatedly chant a mantra to remind myself that MC is mentally & spiritually 30 years old, despite his somewhat childish & oblivious sides. ML is a WOLF. If anything the title of this novel more or less describes him rather than the MC. He is ruthless, direct, possessive, & territorial- your usual rich alpha male. I still manage to give him some leeway (in spite of his many faults) on the notion that he is hot & he is unabashedly my fictional type. The plot itself was just for fun & games- don’t take it too seriously tbh. The latter half of the story felt cut & dry, but I like the fact that they had cute buns at the end! Yay for happy endings!

The story title doesn't joke when it calls the MC "wolffish". This man is vicious, absolutely unforgiving and merciless to anyone he perceives as an enemy. Honestly I really love this story, the protagonist can be so cute and the ML is... okay I love doting MLs to death but Shu Heng's undeniably kinda sus. The novel's a little fast paced and I really feel there are some parts that could have spiced up the story just a little more if they had been expatiated on, but most times you... more>> see the result of a scheme before getting a paragraph or two explaining why and how this and that is happening. Still it's not bad, the author does a good job balancing the steps you take with the characters and the steps you don't. It's hard to explain but that's just it.
Also I'm not a psychologist, but really the MC comes off as a psychopath to me. I'm totally all for revenge novels, but the MC is too ruthless at times. I don't think enough evil can be done to pay his mother back for everything she did to him in his first life, and I can understand f*cking with those who also hurt him but I can't help but see bits and pieces of MC's mother in him when I see how he handled the friends and boyfriend who betrayed and abandoned him in his past life.
Spoiler

One's in what's basically a correctional facility, and the boyfriend (who got r*ped btw) and the other friend are made to be bunny boys in a very shady casino. And all I can think is "THESE ARE TEENAGERS"

[collapse]
They were cruel to him in the past, sure, and they had nothing but bad intentions in this life too, but MC just doesn't care and essentially ends their life before it can really start.
This brings me to MC's little brother who's already showing signs of being a little twat. He's only like three where I am in the novel, but I'm convinced if not for the existence of MC's father that child might have been sold to a couple in the mountains or something. That's how ruthless I'm certain MC is. There's even this scene where ML jokes about being good to MC's little brother and he more or less had a short yandere fit.
Had this been any other novel I might have dropped it on account of MC's utter lack of humanity when it comes to eliminating those who wronged him, but at the same time I'm charmed by this part of him.
MC feels more human and multidimensional. Most novels have their protagonist shed their original personality once they're reborn and back for vengeance, but Shu Ning is still who he's always been, just more twisted and directing his hatred in a different direction. The novel even notes MC is naturally smart and cunning, but he's simply not a match for ML. It makes you realize he's always been who he is now except he's not being stifled by his mother and brother, nor is he trying to outdo the ML who is at unprecedented levels of badass, so he's able to shine in his own way.
MC is not a good person, he's sadistic, zeroes in on a target and doesn't let go. I don't know if it was the author's intentions, but I think they did an awesome writing a lowkey deranged character without ever saying he's deranged. The switch of seeing Shu Ning move from pampered cat, to silly old man, to vengeful spirit is dizzying and captivating.
I gave this story three stars because MC is too cruel at times, ML sort of groomed MC (MC is mentally thirty so I'm kinda lost on this) but he still had it in for MC when MC was only thirteen. But even at that their interactions gave me diabetes. Too cute.

EDIT: Finally finished it and honestly it wasn't bad. I think everyone in this story is really doing ML's biological dad dirty. It might be for comedic reasons sometimes but I think everyone jerks that man around too much when it's not his fault that ML didn't get to grow up in his biological family. Still wish worse things happened to MC's mom though that woman was let off way to easy. <<less

I had to force myself to keep going with this one. The premise seemed interesting but the relationship made me uncomfortable in the beginning.

also when the MC was okay with touching the ML's hard on while still thinking they were brothers... it rubbed me the wrong way.

Honestly, it's cute and fluffy but the way MC behaves so oblivious, as if he's never known about what these kinds of excessive intimate moments signifies at all. That comes of as really creepy and weird, I would say. But if you can basically ignore that part then it also has pretty good storyline, especially when I've seen even worst than this. That's all I want to say. You can read it but only if you think it is your cup of tea. =)

Seriously, what a waste of my time. I went into this novel thinking it'd be fluffy and/or cool because the MC seemed to be a strong proud out-gay uke and the ML sweet on the inside but cold on the outside man at the onset and I thought this would be a wholesome story (at least the romance), revenge plot aside.

But what I got was a lot of very questionable pe*ophilia that for some reason this supposedly thirty year old man doesn't seem to get what's happening mixed in with... more>> a (n) (un) healthy dose of dubious consent that just downright freaked me out.

And the worst part is for the majority of all the icky stuff happening the uke dismisses everything for the sole reason that he thinks the seme is his blood related older brother, which is just dumb, because as I said, thirty year old man, hello??

Another thing I found extremely off putting is
Spoiler

the MCs unfair treatment of his not yet born (or later, infantile) younger brother for mistakes he committed in his past life (like he's a baby, he can be taught better, why would you decide already that he should suffer for things he hasn't even done). Same with the way he treated his "friends". It's all very.... ughh.

[collapse]

And finally it's just annoying how every single woman who makes an appearance is a power hungry/money hungry evil b*tch. It seemed to me that the author either really hated women or seemed to believe that all women think that way which is (눈‸눈)

So yeah, can't be bothered to read any more of this. <<less

Very unsatisfying. It was abit boring tbh. Some trivial scenes dragged on for too long in the plot. The relationship between the MC & ML was uncomfortable in the beginning and I always felt like MC was mostly all talk and no satisfying action; the face slapping wasn’t even thrilling.

This one is my very first review. I read this novel just after I discovered danmei. So I have no other novels to compare this to back then but even then the revenge never sits well with me.

Spoiler

For example, Ex's forced prostitution, ex got his teeth pulled out so that he could be sold to more pe*verted rings (if you know ex's background, then his determination to get rich and his feelings on homosexuality makes a lot of sense), does his punishment really equal to his past wrongdoings (breaking up with MC who is in jail) ?? Iirc another one got r*ped, was forced to undergo plastic surgery (while he was out cold) and was trafficked. Do those cruel acts really equal to their wrongdoings?? And there are so much more. Btw, MC from this novel is no saint even in his past life. If you compare him to his ex, both uses whichever way possible to achieve their goals, so how come he thinks he is much more pure than his ex?

[collapse]

Let me compare this novel to "Rebirth of a Cannon Fodder from A Novel." I read this novel to pass time and I didn't know it would be unique. At first I thought of how brainless people (not include MC, ML and passerbys) in there are and wanted to see more. So I kept reading and at the end, the reasons for their literal brainless was explained.

Spoiler

The point is MC in that novel was abused way more than MC in this novel. Even their deaths, imo, MC from that novel died much more tragically. Also ML in that novel is much more interesting than ML in this novel. For one, ML in that novel has no government or military connections and he has to go against people who have them. ML in this novel has all those connections and he uses them to revenge the villains (?) in ruthless ways possible. Let me tell you how much of a gentleman ML from that novel is when he take revenge, he had those people suffer the EXACT amount and employed EXACT methods (proposed by those people in the past life) MC suffered in the past life. No more no less. As for MC from that novel, he just wants a better life than his previous one. Even when those people schemed against him, he counterattacked them LEGALLY. He reports them to the police, it was good to see once in the novels where POLICE exist and were useful. In short, revenges and their punishments are equal to the f** up things they committed.

[collapse]

Cute side of ML from that novel is he called himself beast and immoral because he fell in love with 17 years old boy. So different from ML here.

By the way, MC from this novel reminds me of FL protagonist from Arc 1 of "Holding onto My Man." Unfortunately, MC from this novel succeeded his excessive revenges and FL from HOMM didn't. Sorry for the long review (or complaints), other people have different dissatisfactions for this novel, but for me personally, it is REVENGE. Thank you translator-sama. Thank you author ^-^ for your hard work. <<less

Im going to give it a 4 star because kind dragged in the end, nevertheless it was fun to read. The MC and ML very amusing to watch solely based on the fact their surface relationship was known to be brother, it was intriguing to how the changed the relationship and came out to their parents.

The plot is promising in the beginning.
The setup is not wrong. I like how MC subtle fight with his mom at the beginning of the novel. They both did great.

What I don’t like is he go from wanting to have a happy life to destroy people life.

So many things wrong with this novel.

Spoiler

The first part of the novel feels like a shota fiction. ML is grooming MC! This is so morally wrong.

It got awful after chapter 100 to the point that I have to skip chapters.

I feel terrible for his ex-classmates and his ex-boyfriend whose crime is only mocking him when he in jail but MC destroys their life and leaving them to death.

The little brother is a naughty kid but MC separating kid from their dad. No wonder he grown-up bad! No one really tried to change him.

I actually liked the MC at the start of the book. His life before rebirth was pitiful and I saw no problem with his plan of latching on the ML's golden thigh after rebirth. If it was me, I would do that too. I mean, who doesn't want to live a better life, right?

But then, I think I started to dislike him after that. It's a typical reason for someone's rebirth is to have revenge

However, to plan on harming an innocent child and one that isn't even born at that. Dude that's freaking inhumane. I know that QYZ and SY were a bunch of tr*sh in the previous life. But you can't deny that the unborn SY is still innocent. He only became cruel because of his mother's teaching. Didn't SC separate the mother and child so that he won't become sullied? I just don't understand Shu Ning (MC). He was more than willing to be in terms and accept his dad and grandpa. If you asked me, the two are just the same as the people who made SN's life miserable. They didn't even treat him well nor much cared for him in the previous life, yet he treated them like family. Then, why not his brother?

I know that what Shu Yao did was heartless (and he and QYZ are tr*sh for that). But if that was me, I would've helped SY because no matter how evil he was in the previous life, the current SY is still malleable enough to be guided to the right path. Kids can be naughty but if you guide them as they grow, wouldn't they be better people? I wouldn't just watch my brother become an as*hole when I could've actually cared for him instead. But alas, I am not SN, so I wouldn't and couldn't understand how he feels.

[collapse]

Spoiler

Another thing that I find hard to like about the MC is that he actively ruins other people's lives. Again, I know that those people were tr*sh, but like I said, MC could have taken a different route. I mean, You were practically given a chance to restart your life. You already know what happens so you could have obviously avoided a lot of things and at the same time even change them.

[collapse]

On the other hand, The interactions between the Main Characters were pretty sweet. They act like a couple almost every chapter that it's practically a full on display of fluff that's enough to lead you to diabetes. Tbh, I find it nakaka-kilig yet weird at the same. Albeit their exchange could've lead to disaster if they got caught. MC is in the body of a 13 year old child after all. The plot of the book was also good. At least halfway. I don't know why the author added scenes that were unimportant to the point that you would wonder why it's there. Some characters too were just carelessly named in the book but doesn't really impact the plot. Though the story behind Guo dude (the one who dealt with the three RK pests) would've been interesting if given some dept. The pacing was okay too but later, everything felt rushed and remaining things were just there so that the book can end. I practically almost skimmed most of the ending chapters. <<less

It's a cute novel. I liked what I read but man, it's long. First the good parts:

  1. The fluff is phenomenal. You'll get lots of good moments.
  2. The revenge makes sense. So far, from what i've read, it's all good.
  3. The MC isn't half bad. He's not really acting like a 30 year old guy tbh but then again, I'm pretty sure most guys don't know how to act their age.
  4. ML is wonderfully yandere. Really nice, really nice!
Now for the stuff I didn't like:

  1. I don't understand why there's so much hate towards almost every female character in here. Like I'm not sorry but it really felt like a plot where if women didn't exist, everything would've been easier in that household. Like I get the hate for the mom because she's done sh*t to the MC but man... there were some moments where I just really felt peeved.
  2. It's not a memorable story. I will tell you, you'll read it, think it's cute, and come back a few months later wondering what this was about. The main plot shifts to the side, and all the overbearing fluff is brought to the front.
  3. Continuing from the last point. Did this have to be so long? I honestly think this could've been condensed into 100 chapters. Some of the stuff written out is pointless, and the characters that are added as the story progresses are kinda pointless. Like yeah, they did un to the MC and so they deserve a kick in the ass but man, there's a limit to the amount of characters ya gotta face slap my friend.
One point I saw in some reviews was that the MC deliberately seduces the ML. No, he does not. He's an oblivious f*ck. Another one was the issue of age where there's an 18 yr old ML and 13 yr old (actually 30 yr old) MC. For me... more>> it wasn't too hard to ignore tbh because although the MC doesn't act like a 30 year old guy, he also doesn't act 13 years old. Also what do these people think a 13 year old is? I mean, in some parts of the story I literally had "what the f*ck" moments, he's a kid, you can still raise him, what the f*ck, why you dropping him just cuz he didn't get reared by you, what the f*ck??? @grandadofMC and @momofMC.

Overall, there's overbearing fluff, pointless face slaps, yandere ML, oblivious but somehow smart MC. If you like all this, go for it. <<less

Gosh this story is such a pe*ophile, even though MC is rebirth with 30yo mentality, ML thoughts and actions on 13yo boy is so ugly. I started skipping all interactions Btw them except for other stories. Author should have focused more on MC developments differing from past life, he has already invested in stocks shouldn't he transform to a successful chaebol instead of being clingy with his big brother all day.

Also the part where MC mother locked down in island completely disappeared without any further plots. MC hating on people because of past life experience is understandable but Shu Yao is a child and Shu Ning hating on child is so ugly. Author only want to emphasise the pe*ophile actions and interactions Btw MC & ML. Atleast plot should have fast forwarded to MC being adult and taking over the romantic things by then

This bl is so annoying in the name of MC being cute nothing but ML drooling over 13yo child and touching him here and there. MC/ML centric, very focused story with little distractions and side plots that have nothing to do with the main plot. Little to no plot holes, every single character that exists/is mentioned has a purpose & an important role to play. Characters feel real and all of them have flaws. The dynamic is almost the same as if MC and ML grew up as close childhood friends.

MC's appearance may be cute, but he is not a white lotus!!! Neither is the ML!!! They are not vegetarians =.=

A bit of QWTFOD... more>> ruthless vibe here -- though MC is not a genius, he's just a lot more mature than the foolish puppet he was purposefully raised as before.

His little brother wears the face of the one who abused him, used him, then pushed him to his death. In his last life, he loved his little brother so much and did so much for him and in return his reputation was ruined and a lot of crimes were pushed on his shoulders and MC's final death was also caused by him.

In this life, his brother just lives as a normal, less rich guy.

I read because I stayed at home because of corona virus measures. The biggest shortcoming of the story is that MC did not grow at the age of 13 and this showed me that ML was pe*ophilia. What ML does is given in the story as evidence. The ML is trying to protect it, as the MC is jerked out. Although MC is 30 years old, this is nonsense. It's bad. I began read this, just because I was bored at school class. I didn't expect anything. And it's do my expecting.

It's about 30 years old man and he originally is gay, but he even can't understand that other man likes him. His brother only 18 but he superior to him from all aspects. MC have pretty low IQ and naturally his EQ also very small. Seriously his behavior matches with child 13 years. Although I not sure that 13 years old children behave like this.

I know they don't... more>> real brothers, but why they always indicate me at this fact. Especially MC " How pitiful that he is my brother, I want a boyfriend like he". Also he is a child I know he will grow but I read 70 chapter and doesn't pass even one year. I don't like read about children. And they also kissed soo many times he is a child and is not okay for me. Besides even after that MC think that he is a brother who likes him a bit more than should be.

And in addition all plot about wealthy and elites of community, it's awfully. They all annoying me not because they want to damage ML. They just disgusting. (I know that this is was planned, but I don't want to read about them at all) I even don't want read about revenge them.

I dropped this at half a novell and I consider this is not good even for everyday life genre. Indeed I am humiliating this genre right now. I don't like this genre much but it is pretty good unlike this novel. <<less

My first review! I spent a solid week entirely devoted to reading this story so I'm still enthused enough about it to share a bit. This story wasn't perfect by any means, but I enjoyed it from start to finish so I'll rate according to my tastes. Your mileage may differ.

For those hesitant to give this a try, I have one piece of advice. Mind the tags! If anything in those tags is as absolute dealbreaker, no grey area allowed, don't even try reading this. I had my own hesitations... more>> based on the tags, but I'm glad I gave this a shot.

More specifically, I'll drill down a bit. Spoilers ahead.

Top of the list is going to be a r*pe tag, which should be listed for those who this might trigger.

Spoiler

r*pe is a revenge scheme carried out against several characters, male and female, in this novel. This r*pe is not directly done by either the MC or ML and is not something either of them experiences either. None of the people that this happens to are good people, though the crimes they are guilty of may not deserve this extent of punishment to the average reader. If this concept is too much r*pe for you to accept or enjoy (I don't blame you, this was my number one hesitation in reading this based on reviews!) I recommend giving this novel a pass.

[collapse]

About that shotacon tag:

Spoiler

Nothing happens between the couple until MC is 16. Attraction is there but not acted upon to an extreme amount (think bathing and kissing). MC is mentally over 30 years old, though ML does not know this. Everything between the couple is 100% consensual and enthusiastic. No one in canon thinks of it as s*xual grooming of a child, but if this concept is still out of your comfort zone, give this novel a pass.

Those are the two most important tags that might throw people off. I'll follow with a quick rundown of why I love this novel for those of you still left!

This novel can best be described as half face slapping and half heartwarming. It's blackbelly devoted gong X blackbelly spoiled and scheming shou where schemes and drama overflow with overwhelmingly sweet romance between the couple. I couldn't put it down due to the drama and my heart was soothed by the romance. There's plenty of papapa in the later chapters and a happy ending! I love the Shu clan father and grandfather and Ningning's maternal uncle!

There are some negatives:

Spoiler

The plot admittedly chases a lot of Ningning's enemies down to the bitter end to extreme results and isn't always the best at making these moments not feel a bit disjointed. You may not even want these victims to end up so badly off because for most of them their true sins were in the past life, not this one. If you're looking for even a single non-evil female character you are completely out of luck. This is a revenge fantasy and to love this story does mean accepting things somehow just work out with explanations of how it happened handwaved.

All that said, none of the negatives bothered me a lot and I loved the story to the end, so I'm still rating it a perfect score. Someone more unbiased about the faults would be justified in rating it lower. If my two caution tags don't scare you off, I recommend this highly!

One last thing- the translator for this series is absolutely excellent
