[The gong (seme) and shou (uke) have no blood relation, are also not in the same household register, do not share a father nor a mother, this is a serious declaration.] ~~~

In this life, Shu Ning was a joke, even to his death. Treated as a stepping stone by his biological mother, opening a path for his younger brother, only to realize all this when dying.

Shu Ning, who was thirsty for maternal love, was extremely hardworking, acting as a well-behaved child in front of his father, while fighting with his elder brother, although his IQ was not high, he still played dirty tricks to the utmost. Constantly being encouraged by his mother’s warm feelings, the more he obstructed his elder brother, the braver he got. When he met with a mishap, his mother took his younger brother and escaped to a faraway place, leaving Shu Ning alone to bear the crime and get thrown into jail.

Love is more solid than gold, his lover decided to embrace another man.

Attaching great importance to friendship, not only did they take the time to visit Shu Ning in jail and laugh at him, they even rubbed salt in the wound.

His most loved and respected mother did not even bother to show her face.

However, when he closed his eyes, his elder brother came. Truth was, it was Shu Heng who had arranged for him to be able to live comfortably in prison.

If he hadn’t followed them and was a clever little brother, would it all have changed? In the blink of an eye, Shu Ning returned to the time where he was a junior high school student.

Two-faced, controlling elder brother gong X Clever and cute little wolf shou.

Elder brother thinks that younger brother is very cute, very adorable, very soft, how could he be this close to the ideal?

The younger brother is thinking, hahaha… that elder brother with facial nerve paralysis could blush? What happened to your cold and handsome image? Becoming foolish with just one kiss? What happened to your mysophobia? I’m just sitting in your lap and your whole body stiffened up? ╮(╯▽╰)╭

To prevent his elder brother from thinking that Shu Ning was after the company, Shu Ning relied on memories from his previous life to earn a bit of money, becoming financially independent while being a silkpants, also slowly raising that soft and immature elder brother, Shu Ning felt that these days were just too comfortable. However… why is his elder brother becoming more and more strange? What is this sleeping together for warmth? What is this good morning and good night kiss? Do you really take me for a brat? Σ( ° △ °|||)

Note: The ‘Silkpants’ part means mean a rich and hedonistic son.

Enjoyable read despite many flaws!

Summary is intriguing so I decided to read despite many bad reviews. I liked it more than I thought!! I was very curious to find out how this couple could turn this taboo relationship into a publicly accepted one. And of course the smut ;)

... more>> Good things in this story:

1. ML's unconditional love for MC. He never questions MC's dislike for certain people. Just accepts it and let him be. He dotes on MC so terribly. Lots of fluff.

2. Both MC and ML are super jealous

3. Love the doting elders! They love MC and ML a lot.

4. Built up of s*xual tension and frustration was really good here. Due to MC's young age ML couldn't do things too obvious, but they did a lot of taboo things.

5. ML is always super hot for MC. He is kinky and pe*verted. Lots and lots of s*x. They try out much kinky stuff, incl dressing up, positions, locations etc.

So for a Chinese BL it contains lots of smut. Though still censored (no explicit descriptions), the author describes a lot of papapa instead of just mentioning that they did it the whole night.

6. No white washing of MC by author. MC is super good for people that treated him well. But imo his revenge is much worse than what MC received in the previous life. So, in the eyes of the villains and readers he is unnecessary cruel and unforgiving. What I like is that the author didn't really try to white wash MC's flawed character. I hate those scum stories in which authors try to explain the bad deeds of the scum gong or scum shou (and treating as if the reader only has 2 braincells).

I can like stories where the ML and/or MC are very flawed.

7. I loved the story more and more after they really became a couple (2nd half) and towards the end. So much fluff incl

revenge the author picked and thinking bad about a baby is unnecessary and distasteful. Sometimes I wonder why an author would do that? Just for sensation?

5. Many plotholes. One thing is that MC always thinks that ML was a real straight boy even after the many physical touching by ML. And meanwhile author mentions often that MC is a 30y transmigrated man. Seriously? Author made the MC sounds too unrealistically dumb in this respect

6. No real plot and some things and characters are so briefly mentioned like ML's best friend. Scenes are not fleshed out at all and makes the writing look unprofessional, messy and rushed (whilst all the smut scenes appears too often and lengthy in comparison) <<less

Honestly disappointing, when I first read the novel. I thought it was pretty ok, looking back now. It isn't that great. The thing that really pissed me off is how MC acted to his younger brother (SY).

Basically SY is still a baby at this time but MC immediately hates him. Disgusting behavior really, you're hating on an actual kid and ruined the kid's life without him doing any wrongs he did in your past life. It doesn't make sense y'all.

Furthermore, I for one always hated the plot point of having... more>> sons and then a single baby daughter. The daughter is obviously going to grow up spoiled or something, trust me I grew up as an only child and the youngest among my cousins. I'm a spoiled brat too.

MC is just dumb, he knows technical stuff but he's dumb in the way that he's THAT oblivious. The ML of course is like a dog to the MC. ML hates SY because MC hates him. Can't we have some I don't know, people with actual brains here?

To sum it up, MC and ML are disgusting. I pity SY and the other "villains", they haven't even done the crimes they did in MC's past life but of course MC doesn't care and punished them. <<less

I want to thank the translator for their hard work.

I personally don't feel like there is grooming in this story. The actions don't feel predatory, more exploratory and possessive.

The older brother has never experienced romantic feelings of any kind in either life. Even looking at naughty pics seems to be something that he had no interest in. His growing feelings for his younger brother (not any blood relation or raised together) seem to confuse him. He feels very protective and proprietary over the young man.

The younger brother is reliving his... more>> life so should have experience with romance, but almost seems to have regressed emotionally. The only way you remember he is 30 is because he says it repeatedly. Otherwise, he acts in the childish way that matches his body. (Older bro is 18 and he is 13 or 15)

As someone that has had physical relationships, you would assume he would recognise the desire his brother is developing for him, but I believe that due to the almost idol worshipping view he has, he can't conceive of his god like brother having lustful thoughts.

That is how I perceive it and would explain how they both seem quite oblivious about the innapropriate relationship they develop. They both make excuses in their heads and can reason away things so having a bath together seems acceptable and not strange to them.

The author seems to have some bias or confusion about gay men. Every now and then, he will say something slightly offensive. "Even as a homo, he has boundaries", etc. It is a little off and feels innapropriate. Luckily it doesn't happen often, but it does happen a few times. Something to be aware of.

His memories do colour his feelings, and can sometimes make his thoughts sound harsh. Like wanting his mother to miscarry his younger brother because they are both awful. Obviously, with things changing, people can also change. Not those that are fully formed like the adults, but a baby can be raised and a teen can be influenced with the right opportunities. As an outsider, it seems overboard, but obviously, we aren't the ones that experienced the pain and betrayal that he has which forms his opinions.

This story is also achingly slow. It is well written, but could probably have 1/3 removed without being detrimental to the overall story.

It's not bad. It's not great. Would I buy it? No Will I read it again. Maybe. With some skimming. Would I recommend it? Probably. It's one of those that you would throw out as a "give it a go" type stories.

If you like bro con stories, this is a good one. This also does have interesting character growth. I did like this story overall.

Edit: as it gets closer to end, (If you manage to hang on) you get some sweetness. Their relationship, his uncle, both their dad's. Based on the chapters after 130ish, it gets a lot better. I would probably read this again.

Spoiler

There is something so wonderful about how they all deal with it. Considering how most families in these kind of books are usually either against the couple, don't accept it, etc, it was a pleasant surprise how supportive and encouraging the dad and grandpa were. Giving the family heirloom engagement ring was just so cute!

I don't see the cute, fluffly, sweet, etc.

Spoiler

The ML is clearly a pe*ophile taking advantage of a child, and when they develop into a romantic relationship (still ChildxAdult), the ML is controlling and overbearing (in and out of bed, he controls what he eats, monitors where he goes, with who and what he does; always forces his opinions and wishes on the MC; and the fact that he waits for him to sleep to change his clothes to lingerie, even tho the MC is obviosly unconfortable with it, specially in the beginning, when he was still a 13/14 y.o. Child and there was NO romantic feelings or awareness for his part). He's also disrespectful, the MC clearly doesn't want to have s*x on his father's office or in the car while the bodyguards are in it, but the ML just doesn't give a sh*t about what his partner wants.

[collapse]

Anyways, I liked it in the beginning, but it just made me more and more unconfortable. It is well writen and well translated, I really wanted to know the ends of the mother and the little brother, but I don't have stomach anymore, at this point the "romantic" scenes disturb the hell out of me, I just can't anymore. <<less

This started out as a very interesting read. I was so hooked with all the face slapping and revenge plots, until the MC turned all psycho with his little baby bro. I mean, come on, treating a new born baby like a devil who's out to get blood. No matter how much the author tried to justify Shu Ning's actions and feelings towards his baby bro, I just can't.

The way the author forces scenerios just to paint Shu Yao (baby bro) as a spoiled rotten child who will eventually grow... more>> up as a hateful person, does not sit well with me. The logic and reasoning is very forced and cringy.

This story could have gotten 5 stars, but the way the revenge to the baby bro was handled was way too disturbing and appalling for me, in fact it made me lose my interest to this novel. I am giving this a 2.5. <<less

There is quite a bit of... pedo vibes though and in*est... while we all know they're not actually related, having to read "brother" during the papapa scenes were a little too much. I really hate how the MC deal with his own little brother. Like he live till he 30? But he has no brain to teach a kid who just born. Like the last life he is like that because of his mom and him spoiling him right?

so cant you just make up your mind and be an adult you suppose to be and teach him. ~_~

Other than this problem and the *** scene everthung is good. The fluff the spoiling of the ML is good

Honestly at this point I'm not so sure whether I should continue reading or not, because the story feels quite repetitive to me.

Let me point out the good points first.

- the translator is excellent! She updates consistently and the quality is superb, so thumbs up

... more>> -I like the relationship of the father and the MC

At first it was quite cute how the MC and ML interacted, but it's soooooo long winded and dragged on. After a while I'd just skip those parts and wait for the revenge parts.

This is my opinion on chapters 1-62 so I don't know how it develops in the future thus I can't really say my review is reliable :) <<less

I enjoy reading this. Has some decent drama and about chapter 45 it get real heavy on the fan service. Be warned though it's shotacon fan service. Borderline too but hasn't crossed the line. It funny to think that if this was a strait harem novel the fan service would seem relatively normal.

Oni Girl,

let me just say that in this story, pretty much EVERYONE around them is a villain? It's not just females, there are males too. The main villain needs to be female bc of her identity as the mc's MOTHER. Please do not focus on whether the story is 'fair to all genders, s*x orientations, races, ' and all that bullshit. The author is really not denouncing any of the genders. Just enjoy the story.

Edit:

I dropped this.

I like this book a lot and I find the interaction between the main couple cute and funny BUT!!! Why does the author insists on writing all the women in the book as villains!? That is extremely biased! And I saw this happening in allmost all the yaoi books I have read so far. Again, I like this story, but if this discrimination towards women continues then my rating will go down. I still have hope for this book and I hope it will improve. My thanks to the traslators!

I’m afraid I’m going to have to give up on this story. I struggled to drag it out to chapter sixty five, but I'm not going any further. The translation is good, there’s a decent plot, but the pedophilia is way too repulsive and the main character’s s*upidity and immaturity are too exaggerated. The repeated ‘straight man cancer’ excuses got old and flimsy a long time ago, when none of the actions taken have any viable excuse other than mol*sting a prepubescent teen. While that is something that happens, and... more>> is a disgusting fetish that people should be aware of and guarded against, it is absolutely not something that should be glorified or attributed any concept of ‘romantic’. Yes, the main character is mentally supposed to be over thirty (despite acting more like he's around five for some reason?) but his eighteen year old 'brother' has no idea of that, and it doesn't matter when physically he's an under-developed thirteen. <<less

The story over all is nice but if you look into another perspective, the MC is evil and a villain. He is cruel and still naive even if he's born all over again.

After his reborn, he makes the people who makes him suffer in his past life also suffer. The teenager who brokes his heart? Makes him a prostitute even if he still doesn't do anything and have a mother in the hospital and he us a scholar but he just lust after the MC in this life and haven't... more>> done anything wrong at all for him to deserve that.

And also a teenager again was also became a prostitute and also sold to someone (that someone is a good person but the teenager takes it for granted (still it can be justified on how young he is and how old that someone is)) He dies of something.

The MC is friend with someone who r*pes. He r*pes the first boy and push him into prostitution because his mother is sice and needed money.

ALL OF THE THINGS THE MC HAS DONE CAN'T BE JUSTIFIED. All of the people who he punished is a devil in their past life, but isn't he also is? He's naive and always being manipulated into taking his brothers life. But he's also someone who deserves to be punished but he still lives a good life in his second life.

This is the part that frustrated me the most. The story will already be good if only the MC didn't take revenge on someone that haven't done anything wrong in his current life. <<less

My favorite part of this is the first post-rebirth scene, when MC wakes up and deals with the aunt. Where in other WNs this would be where the MC starts suffering without any support, here we immediately meet many good people who are genuinely on MC's side, including an uncle who's actually a good guy and cares for MC and a class monitor/roommate who treats MC as a good friend. Maybe I'm getting too philosophical, but it made me think about how we might be surrounded by good people who... more>> care about us, but we only realize it when we look back at our past and regret how we didn't value these people enough.

From there it honestly goes on a bumpy downward spiral, slowly at first but significantly gaining in speed and descent as it nears the end.

There's a lot of good in this wn, but there's also a lot of bad. The big, glaring issue is simple: the plot is braindead, and the author doesn't care. There are plotholes, there is OOC, there is illogical desicions, there is plotlines that make no sense and very clearly just exist because the author wanted to write some telenovela level of s*upid drama, etc.

At first, it's easy to ignore the issues because there's a lot of good to balance it out (ex. MC's character setting is already wobbly at the start, but it's sweet seeing people like the uncle, class monitor and boss guy be genuinely nice people; dad keeps flipping between shrewd and smart to a low EQ idiot, but the non 2dimensional family members and surprisingly positive family relationships are heartwarming; etc), but as the plot progresses the author also sheds those positive elements which causes the negatives to be amplified and difficult to ignore.

On one hand, I do think this was a good read to start with, but I also have to warn people who want to read that the latter parts really do get disappointing. <<less

Before reading this, be warned that this might have some child grooming happening.

I only realized it halfway the first half of the novel. I was extremely disturbed continuing reading it.

Even if I tried to ignore it, it still flashes in my mind.

... more>> Also, the characters are not that well done.

Is the Author trying to make Shu Ning (MC) smart or average? Please make up your mind.

At one hand, he's downing him telling that Shu Ning was just average, he only have hard work to rely on. Contrasting Shu Heng (ML) and him all the time. Like how Shu Heng is so perfect, so talented, bla, bla, bla.

On the other hand, they make him appear a genius and successful. Like wtf. MADE UP YOUR MIND!

The plot was also not that well done.

Is this about revenge? Then why the hell did it turn into love between brothers?

It's like the Author is constantly hesitating on what to write. Like he doesn't have a clear outline or execution.

The conflict is also bad. It felt force. It just become decorations. And the people he took revenge on become just side characters.

I can only tell that the execution was not very well done.

Translation, 4/5.

Background, 4/5.

Overall, 2/5 stars.

Please if you knew someone being child groomed, report it. Just because it's in the book, doesn't mean it's a right thing to do. <<less

(⇀‸↼‶) ᕗ I really couldn't continue this anymore. I get that we need to know the setup and introduction to the main "victims" of the MC's revenge (even though he said he he doesn't want focus on them too much). I also understood that we need to get to know the ML; BUT you reeeaaaally didn't need to take the feelings department that far! Especially when from an outsider's prespective, it's VERY CREEPY.

Are you really gonna tell me the evolution of the ML's physical contact at... more>> that time was "fluffy", "cute", "adorable" and all of those adjectives?

*sigh*

And from what I understood from the spoilers was that the MC ddin't even spared the younger brother. Wouldn't it be better to just NOT let the their mom raise that kid? I don't get it.

The tricky thing about Rebirth stories with revenge as the motivation is that even though you hate them; they haven't done anything to you in your second life in most cases. If they're still a scumbag to others then you can probably take that chance to yeet them in jail or something close that. There isn't any need to take things to extreme methods. But, there's a wonderful thing called therapy you can invest in or just stay far away from those people asap.

Honestly I only went back and forth with this story for the fluff scenes that happened, otherwise I actually disliked this novel. It's been a year since I last read it but I can still remember most of the details. The translation is good undoubtly, but it's hard to like a story that doesn't have morals nor good writing, and doesn't stick to what they set. Many times in the beginning I found the scenes between the two brothers unsettling and slightly gross. I was younger when I was into... more>> the scenes but even then, I wasn't okay with it. And yes, I found the fact that they made MC clueless just baffling. And I hated that the novel almost *promotes* r*pe. If you know what happened, you know what the male lead did.

Spoiler

MC almost got r*ped by his 'friend's' brother and so the male lead beat up the guy. But later on, MC gets invited to his 'friends' party so he can get revenge for what MC and ML did to his brother, the r*pist/pedo gets r*ped instead by ML's schemes.

[collapse]

That part disgusted me but wasn't the only unnerving thing about the story. The male lead ignores how MC feels on certain things and embarrasses him by forcing him to do things MC doesn't want to do.

Spoiler

From getting his bu*t slapped to forcing him to wear animal costumes everyday, and intentionally hiding his normal wear.

[collapse]

It was disgusting and that wasn't even half of anything.

Spoiler

MC only does things for his selfishness and never for pure intents. He is rude and cruel towards others. Like how he suggested his classmate to sell himself for money. And how he schemed for his 'friend' and his 'cousin' to basically have a engagement. Yes they had evil intents but going that far? For that family, it's either ruin their entire life or let them off. That isn't even counting how *everyone* around the MC and ML has evil intentions, no one being pure. And even if they were, they'd probably be hated either way or just some nobody.

[collapse]

And then there is MC's younger brother. Oh lord

Spoiler

MC hates him from early on and sometimes thinks of getting rid of him. And somehow the author decided to make the brother evil at a young age, which makes MC hate him even more. Everyone around him notices. Yes, he has a right to feel angry and have feelings of hatred for what happened in his past life but right now, his brother is a literal child. And how everyone lets his younger brother bully and lie, never trying to fix it is wrong in itself.

[collapse]

While the ML did decide to wait until MC turned legal age to have interc**rse, that doesn't mean him touching MC inappropriately is justified or can be overlooked. Read this if you want, but don't expect pure fluff and etc. It only gets worse further on the story. Well I mean there *is* fluff but damn, it's dark as hell and the MC holds a grudge real bad.

Spoiler

1. His 'friend' - ruins his and his brothers life. His 'friend' bullied and tormented him in the past. What did he do? Scheme for him to get into an engagement with a girl he was playing with. There were more things but yes.

His 'friend's' brother - he ends up getting r*ped and killed. Although this is not his fault, but rather the ML's. The brother had tried to r*pe him in the bathroom alone, and he was rescued by the ML who in return beat the hell outta him.

The two-faced girl - I forgot what she did to him in the past but she did humiliate him or something. She is the girl who was forced in an engagement. MC schemed for the 'friend' and the girl to go to a bar/party where the girl ends up naked and r*ped. Everyone knows and yeah. He doesn't care for this.

His past ex - he had cheated on him and only wanted money. He also liked bullying. MC schemes to make him a lackey and also gets him to be a prostitute to pay his mother's bills.

Everyone in his family besides the uncle and the guy who likes the uncle is just- oh lord. They have no morals at all. Everyone wants each other to get hurt and some even dead. Yeah. It's pretty dark af.
