Mu Xiaoke was a fool in his previous life, he and his older brother love Fu Jiayun. He is a little mute who’s a total failure, how could the other person choose him? He shouldn’t have competed with his older brother, or married Rong Yanzhe as a substitute for his older brother, otherwise he wouldn’t have died alone in the wilderness with his corpse never to be found.

God gave him a chance to be reborn. When he returned to his first year in senior high school, he knew that he could not repeat the same mistakes again. He had to stay away from his older brother, Fu Jiayun, and Rong Yanzhe. The person who treated him as a stand-in for his older brother and kept abusing him. This time, he didn’t ask for anything, as long as he could live well.

It just didn’t occur to him that when he kept a respectful distance from those people, they instead came to pester him endlessly. He was in panic and unexpectedly provoked another man who shouldn’t be approached…

This story is a Gem!! I'm having fun eating dog foods ❤️ And it is realistically portrayed, the MC is mute and just a normal person who gets afraid. There's also a character build up for MC. The romance is also logical. From simple concern to affection similar to brothers and to a love romantically

Plot: the MC has a half older brother (Mu Kai) of different mother. This brother always talked against him to other person to alienate him, and make others do/vent their frustration to MC. That older... more>> brother even robbed everything from him (MC's house left by his mother, MC's happiness and future). In the past the MC liked fu jiayun, best friend of mu kai but the MC wedded the other best friend, also the cousin of mu Kai, which is Rong yanzhe. Fu jiayun and Rong yanzhe both like mu kai (MC's half brother) and they feel disgusted to MC. Since the MC was ignorant, slow witted and stuttered while talking in the past, the actions he made to prove himself only made him looked like a fool, liar and unreasonable.. He was mute (psychological reason) due to accident (abduction) but slowly got better and started to stutter. However, since he got married to rong yanzhe and suffered abuse (physically, mentally and sexually), he became mute again due to psychological reasons. He died at 22y/o and reincarnated at 15y/o

Details of the MC's abuse is on extra chapter using rong yanzhe's perspective. Due to ch1, I thought that the MC wasn't touched by yanzhe, but the MC's refusal was due to another psychological trauma that happened <<less

I MTLed up to ch 64 where I quit because I got bored. It's not a bad novel, it's just a very stereotypical extreme dog blood scum and abuse novel, where the MC gets saved by the ML to have his HE. There isn't logic, there's lots of plot holes and the cannon fodder/villains are vicious and s*upid. But if you wanna read scum get face slapped and abused, and the poor wronged MC get avenged, you may really like this.

The summary is misleading about the ML. He is... more>>
Spoiler

a very typical 'nice on the surface, hiding his identity, black belly, overbearing president who's sweet to his wife' type. They don't exactly fall in love at first sight, more like drawn to each other brotherly love at first sight and eventually develops into love. Which is good bc the MC is 15 and the ML is like 22 and his teacher when they meet. If you're worried about the age gap they don't get together until the MC goes to college.

[collapse]

You could say this novel succeeds very well at being dog blood, I did cry several times. From that point of view, that might make it a good novel. And I know you can't expect too much from a mindless dog blood rebirth story, but I still want a bit of quality from my mindless reading lol. As unraveling the mysteries of the past and plotting revenge ramped up, it started to feel very flat to me. Because the MC's happiness revolves entirely around the ML and ignores the rest of his life, like all the friends he managed to make (Ilu hanfu girls, you deserved better!). The story becomes just centered around the villains, whose motivation is just jealousy and greed which was getting very boring. It felt fairly predictable how everything was gonna play out, so I dropped it. <<less

I love this. It's a cute story with a realistic view on PTSD and other trauma. For at least half the novel whenever MC sees his abusers from his past life, he shakes and runs away/completely avoids them. The relationship is also really sweet and takes it's time to form and ngl there is an age gape but nothing happens until MC is in college.

One of my favorite things is how there's a reason why MC tried to break up with ML and it's s*upid or ridiculous ... more>>
Spoiler

It's because in MC's first life when he tried to escape from his abusive husband, the person who helped him escape was mu*dered and tortured

[collapse]

Also I'm nearing the end of the novel (chapter 85) and there's been no magical fix for the MC to start talking. He still uses text to speech and sign language to talk. That really nice seeing as you don't see that alot in stories like these

What's also nice about this novel is that MC never does anything where he's actively seeking revenge.
Spoiler

Except where he finds out that his brother's mother was responsible for his mother's death

[collapse]
was MC's father, everyone else MC avoids and blocks. I would wholly recommend this story if you like light face slapping and a cute relationship with a realistic side of trauma. <<less

Everyone, literally everyone other than the MC and the ML (and that room mate and that girl student friend) dISGUSTS ME. SooOooOooOo much I couldn’t continue.

I read the translated chapters, and continued to MTL, but I couldn’t. And then I was curious about that extra chapter with POV the most disgusting person in this whole book literally I wish this ML was a little more vicious and villain like and can physically and psychologically torture this gross s*x offender rapist inferiority complex motherf*cker ... more>>
Spoiler

aaaand the extra is even more disgusting. I don’t know what the author wanted to show us, that he regrets using s*x and violence to the MC to control, that in the end, he just likes this person but doesn’t know how to show it? GO TO HELL. Get therapy first omg

so. Much. drama. Very dogs blood, lots of plot holes and the usual 2-d bad guys.

that being said, it also has it's good points. The abusive scum is given some backstory and is fleshed out more than usual for these types of stories and we get to see things from his pov, which was interesting. There was some character growth for the MC but what he really needed was some serious therapy to overcome his trauma and not someone continuously swooping in to save the day.

as for the relationship, I'm... more>> not a big fan of grooming.

other than that, lots of fluff in between the melodrama so those who like fluff and don't mind unequal power distribution in a relationship should enjoy it. <<less

Oh I like this one. I hate and bored of scum ML chasing wife after rebirth and then happy ending with scum ml. This theme similar with degenerate rebirth of s*ave abuse tyrent. Where is MC sexually abuse by husband, after rebirth he met with good man which is ML and happy ending with a good man, awwww. This is really my cup of tea, not all author can tbink this kind of theme. Everywhere I found romantize r*pe🙄

The novel wasn't quite what I expected.

What I like the most here is the design of the protagonist, Mu Xiaoke. Being mute, people might expect of him to be weak and pushover. But no– He was tough and resilient.

Spoiler

He died knowing it was because he escaped. But still, in the face of death he didn't regret and still had a smile on his face.

He was happy knowing he escaped.

[collapse]

I didn't expect it for a character like him. Xiaoke is smart and keen, he shined in his second life.

The only thing for me is how he's not ruthless and cruel. [Sigh]

I'm just happy now that he's also happy and content in his life. He successfully changed his fate.

I'm happy that he met many people that supported him in this life. His husband (who constantly supported him), his friends (who always defended him), and his mother's friend, his aunt (who helped him).

For Rong Yanzhe, I feel complicated about him. But I still don't like how high his pride are. You reap what you sow.

Over all, it's a good novel. If you're still hesitant to read it, THIS IS YOUR SIGN. <<less

A very good story.

The MC is quite strong and decisive, ML supportive and protective (not too much).

The elder brother and his potential lover is quite annoying, father quite useless - but forgiven in the end (more like meh... let him do his thing). Main problems are solved around chapter 70 something.

Strong and supportive friends helping him canvas customers.

All in all, it a nice read.

Good plot.

Idk why I feel pity for RYZ but what he did in his pastlife to MC he deserves it. Let he regret it for the rest of his life.

If you loves someone, you don't torture them physically and mentally. It's wrong. MC already has problem, the trauma he has when he was a child could never be forgotten.

RYZ don't understand this kind of thing, like I understand it that you never experience it yourself so you don't understand what they felt but you should never take things of what... more>> that they had experience very lightly.

The problem probably won't get worse if the RYZ's parent didn't do what they did to torture MC mentally. But as I said, I never experience it so I don't understand. It could also be said that the moment RYZ lock MC up, there's no turning back.

Like a porcelain once broken, even if you patch it back again, the cracks is still there. The moment you lightly push it, it will fall and broke again in many pieces.

That's why when some people broke down their only relief is to sleep eternally 'in the end'.

But MC literally still has hope to live, that's why he try to escape. All he want is to get out of the there and try to lived for himself. Although in the end he died, Thank the God that He still let MC have a second time.

The problem is not just with RYZ only, but his father and brother (especially his mother who has a f*ckng long hand). The s*upid hypocrite crush or whatsover, they really pisses me off. If I could, I really want to chase them with a baseball bat and beat the hell out of them half dead. Once they well, beat them again until I'm satisfied. <<less

It's good not bad.

I like the story also both MC and ML. The side characters are tr*sh but they do their job to be retaliated by MC and ML.

The romance is so sweet! I wish I have someone like ML by my side! Just wishful thinking.

My only concerned is I don't understand some sentence in the novel. Maybe because of translation? Or maybe I didn't comprehend it right? I don't know. But well I still understand it more or less so its fine.

I've MTLed this one a while ago. Glad to see it's being translated. Especially for the first life, the novel has a lot of dog blood - and I mean a lot. Very bloody. Very sad death. However, it also has my favorite trope - change the scum gong ML to a better one who truly loves and respects him.

If you can get past the first painful part, the rest of the novel is really sweet, especially concerning the interaction btw the MC and the real gong. The falling in... more>> love part is very gradual and natural. Of course, those who love angsty novels should enjoy this novel too, as it has plenty of it. <<less

It's not bad. It's pretty fast paced.

  • I like that mc's trauma isn't automatically brushed aside, especially considering that his triggers are still around until the very end
  • I like that MC immediately breaks away from toxic family & friends
  • I like that the antagonists get their comeuppance (even though none as brutal as mc's tragic ending)
Tbh the antagonists are negligible. But despite his low IQ, Rong Yanzhe still manages to completely disgust me.

This is the only rebirth story in which the MC retaining his kind nature after abuse makes sense to... more>> me. <<less

This was a pretty decent read, but I got bored with it after some time. It just seemed a little drawn out. The extra of RY could have been kept. It was unnecessary. It just felt like the author was trying to whitewash him and give a explanation as to why he did what he did, except it didn't make it any better. I really wanted to read about how he was miserable after MC died, but got that instead -_-

Spoiler

If the author was just going to make him be able to talk again, it shouldn't have taken until the end of the novel. I wanted him to start speaking earlier. Like him talking to other people and having to type out long paragraphs/essays to explain something just seems very redundant. Nobody except like 2 or 3 people in the story knew sign language, so he's just having to type and show his phone to everybody. He should have gotten some therapy, so that the story wouldn't have been drawn out so long and we wouldn't have had to wait the whole entire story for him to start talking again. Also if he was so scared of the Rong family, I feel like he could have went abroad just like everybody else instead of staying where he didn't want to.

[collapse]

Instead of ML taking care of everything, the MC should have gotten therapy.

Also unsatisfied with the ending. I want to know Mu Kai's true end. Also want to know how Rong Yezhen and Fu Jiayun's lives are. <<less

Spoiler

the brother and dad had been taken care of and the ML took care of the Rong family, only the jerk RY left.

[collapse]

There were a lot of relationships that were just forced by the author, no real explanation of why some characters did what they did, either for love or hate. Too many details were omitted.

Also not a fan of how long it takes for him to speak again and the method used to make him speak again. Seriously no one got him a top of the line psychiatrist?

Spoiler

chapter 87 is when he finally speaks again and RY scares him into speaking again by putting the ML in danger.

[collapse]

The extra with RY was unnecessary, curious why the author wrote it. To show how twisted and demented he was originally? It didn't add anything we didn't already know and didn't help RYs character. He didn't even really show that much remose or address why he believed MC brother so much. The translation is out to chapter 18ish, just Google the title and you can find it. I MTL'd the rest which was easier than most. I don't see me re-reading this novel. <<less

I mtl'd the whole novel and it was pretty understable. The relationship between the MC and ML is very sweet and healthy.

the cause of mc's psychological trauma and aphasia were realistic and justified and the BUT I just dont know why the ML didn't even took the MC to the psychiatrist during their whole relationship. But I dunno if I just left out the part if the MC has medication or not.

but I notice that there were some unrealistic part but I cant blame it though, dogblood needs drama

This was a pretty sweet read. The relationship between the MC and ML was healthy, cute and also logical? Like there was a logical progression in their relationship.

The antagonists were the typical type for this type of dog blood drama novel but like that’s what I’m expecting to see when I read the novel. It was very stereotypical and much like the many other similar novels that have been translated but it’s a trope that has been proven successful so I don’t see anything wrong with that

I thoroughly enjoyed this... more>> novel, it had the perfect amount of face slapping and revenge plots and also the MC standing up for himself and moving out of the shadows of his past life.

if I was to criticise the novel, the fact he didn’t have any more extreme problems in addition the the relapse of his selective mutism after the hell that was his last life was a bit weird and the fact that the MC was a little too soft hearted in places after what he had been through, though I guess that is his character. It makes him a little less 1 dimensional, and the ML was plenty ruthless for the both of them. I did feel a little confused about the fathers motivations but all in all I give this a solid 4/5. <<less

This novel is sweet one, with some bitter particles, but not too many. There are people in the reviews who called it angsty - lol, you don't really heard of angst before, this one is cutie))

I mtled the whole novel, but it just proved my liking. The plot is entertaining. The love part is romantical as it should be. Lot of pampering and easily dealing with any problems.

The ending, as a peaceful part, takes way too long though, about 25 chapters. It became boring.

I dont know where to place this so I'll leave it unrated. If you're looking for dog-blood, full of flavours and fast-paced novel then this one might satisfy you!! The novel got into the story really quick, the past life doesn't feel redundant. There are quite some heavy topics in this novel, mainly the trauma from the MC's last life, slowly through the story it gets better and better for the protagonist, he heals thanks to the ML, such a good human being; kind, gentle, but also knows when to be strict and ruthless, both main leads are hard-working and resilient, they try hard to push through the hard time they endured in the past and make sure to plan for a better future. Their happiness near the end of the novel made... more>> smile non-stop while reading the last few chapters, it is heart-warming, there is a feeling of fullfilement and achievement, "after so long finally we've made it this far" kind of feeling. Though the extra from the POV of the person who caused the MC's trauma left me feeling a little bit sad and melancholic, I feel bad for him but also don't want to, forgive but don't forget, I surely feel happy that the MC walked away from the shadow of his trauma and found happiness, he didn't turn back nor hesitate, he learned from his past experience, and benefited from the help of the ML and his support to rebuild a new life with a completely different trajectory. Though I still feel somehow empty and sad for the person who caused his trauma, through it all it seems he didn't mean for such things to happen. He was immature, didn't know how to cherish and respect the MC, he was selfish and self-centred, though I felt his heartbreak and regret and his tentatives to tread carefully around the MC, though it was all pointless. You can't rewrite what already happened. <<less
