The story was pretty interesting at first, but then it gets pretty boring.

Everytime some interesting issue or mystery happens its always dragged on.

1) what happened to ml's mom?.... Dun dun daaaa!!! Idk we'll talk about it later even though it seems important. Lol

2) mc's dad's investment: MC cant sleep it bothers him because he knows it will turn out bad..... So the next day he forgets about it... Hes fine (no longer worried) hes cooking. ML will take care of it. (Wtf? I thought you were worried about it the... more>> last chapter. Now your ok?)

3) MC thinks a person doesnt like him. Hes worried about it. Someone tells MC to just ask that person. MC asks him "do you need to pee?" Then MC moves on. (Like wft I thought you were worried about it and wanted to know? You asked for advise, then u gave up like that?)

It doesn't make sense and there are times I thought I skipped a chapter or something but no. Thats really it.

Everything is just so mundane. Even when issues are solved its like "whatever" (Not even a joyous moment)

Even when the mystery of how ML and MC first met was revealed it was anticlimactic.

This is a struggle to finish.

Also this translation seems more of an mtl copy than an actual translation. Its understandable, but carry some mtl mistakes like --> "He l**ked his head".

Also p*rn advertisement pop-up or sometimes when im scrolling. It accidentally sends me to another site. Its kind of annoying. <<less

I think this story would have gotten 4 stars from me if the translation had been better. It's essentially edited MTL, but with very terrible grammar on top. I was reading on the go so I didn't end up reading the raws. Maybe one day I'll come back and write a better review if I decide to reread the whole story through the raws instead.

Anyway, if you like rebirth/slice-of-life stories where the MC drops his past scum lover and starts a new life with someone else in search for his... more>> own happiness, then this is your jam!

The MC doesn't aim to retaliate against anyone, just aims to help his family avoid their future problems, regain relationships with his good friends, and start earning money early as a web novelist.

This story is a bit confusing at the start; he talks about coming out to his family and it causing problems the first time around but then the marriage proposal is also from a guy so isn't he already out? This world seems to allow same s*x marriage and no one seems to think it's unusual.

The couple is cute and the ML's family drama is cliche and irritating (i think I'm burnt out on all these cut-throat, scheming families, though I understand the lure of the ready made conflict as... more>> far as the writer is concerned).

This has fantasy in the tags but so far, other than the initial rebirth, there hasn't been anything magical/ supernatural in the story. For now it's about a 3.5 but i'll give it a 4 for the moment. Well see how the rest of the story goes. <<less

I just started an the story is going great. I feel like most of the low rating is because people couldn't understand the plot due to the translation and I don't mean to hurt anyone but the first translation is truly very bad.

I say all the people who has read the first translation to go check out the re translation, It's difference is between heaven and hell.

So I can't wait for more updates - Will review it once I am done.

EDIT: Well I am done with the novel. It was... more>> pretty good but not to the point of amazing. The plot easily got boring at some points and just started to revolve around the ML. Shen Jun had a pretty well ending - So happy for that. Like some other reviewer said, after some time the whole books starts revolving around the ML and the MC rarely has any appearances to fight against the antagonists. It was fine but not the best.

Story - 4/5

Characters - 3.75/5

Translation - 5/5

Did I want to drop the Novel at any point? No. It' a good read and deserves more rating than the current 3.9 <<less

Read Insidemirror translated version.

I am pretty sure the novel's low ratings are because of the bad translation by another author. This novel does not deserve the low rating at all. I am so glad I picked this up.

This is such a fluffy novel that you feel so good reading it. The first chapter starts like a thriller and mellows down quite fast and the lead characters are so cute and lovely together. Give this novel a try. Truly a good read

I am glad I gave this a chance despite all the negative reviews. One even wrote there was r*pe... lol... nope... not even once. It is just the exact opposite. I have rarely seen such a cute and patient ML who courts his fiancé with great gentleness and tenderness. The novel is all about how the main couple fall in love and how they show their love. Yes, there was one or two instances of rough s*x but I did not see TongTong complaining about that at all! pppfft ?...... more>>

in fact the author does not treat r*pe lightly... one of the side characters was r*ped when he was a child and has since then suffered from s*xual dysfunction until age 28

Another reader said the story was cliché... maybe?... tbh if people find this cliché, then they must move on to another genre!... Like maybe Disney? or horror genre? or superhero genre? aren't they all full of clichés too? good luck with that!

Yes it is badly translated and edited but I could still understand the story. Some parts were translated literally and the chinese idioms were left unexplained. It did not bother me since I am familiar with most chinese idioms but it might confuse others. Hopefully another translator cleans this up cause this novel is worth it.

I really loved this novel. I loved the MCs and side characters. I loved how TongTong is not afraid to beat up scum Shen, twice in fact... lol... The story is sweet and full of tender moments. There is no angst and I love that. Since it is slice-of-life genre, the author gave more details about the little things that we rarely see in chinese BL... for e.g. the chinese celebrations... the boring family gatherings that as a chinese myself I personally hated (lol)... the little things TongTong do to smooth over YiFei's jealousy and his other insecurities, especially the dance part and the love note in a paper airplane... little things that I personally have also done ?... and I love how YiFei cutely hoards every little bit of memento that Tong provides him because of his insecurities due to severe neglect when growing up <<less

The title says it all. The Shou/uke got betrayed by his long term lover before he dies in his hand, and after his rebirth he finds out that the right guy was waiting for him all along. So they get married, and become lovey dovey till death do them apart. End of the story.

The side stories of ML's 2 friends, MC's 2 friends and MC's younger sister are also satisfying.

Some people here talks about marital r*pe and I keep wondering how did I miss that? Every s*x scene was consensual,... more>> yes at times both became uncontrolled, but then ML gave proper aftercare, and even if ML tried showing restraint, MC went chasing after him in thongs to seduce... so I really don't see the "rape" people are talking about here... <<less

A cute, sweet, and fluffy read. Before reading I saw a review saying that this novel is dragged out and it is actually really really really dragged out. The romance was kind of brainless, especially the reason why the ML fell in love with the MC, but their relationship is pretty heartwarming overall. The plot was pretty basic: a MC who was betrayed by his lover is reborn type of plot line. All of the face slapping revenge scenes happen pretty early in the novel and the rest is mostly... more>> about the ML's family problems and the MC's author job. It wasn't as self-indulgent as I had hoped for it to be, but it was okay in general. <<less

A lovely rebirth novel. Ignore the low ratings, they are mostly due to the very bad first translation (edited MTL) on a site that is usually riddled with popups and redirects to malicious websites. Avoid that site if you can, and read the second translation (by insidethemirror on tumblr), and your experience will be much more enjoyable.

Rebirth novelist MC is betrayed by his longtime boyfriend and decides to change his life the second time around by marrying elite VP ML he barely knows. And they're super cute together!

So many adorable interactions between MC and ML. A rare business tycoon ML who's fully in love without being cold and domineering, and as VP still has career goals to work toward. Super, super cute story by an author who's written other great & fully consensual BL. A rebirth MC who actually does things (like investments) you'd rush to... more>> do too if you were in his shoes. Side CP doesn't work for me but maybe it will improve.

This has low ratings only because of the 1st tl. Read the 2nd tl! Honestly the first chapter is kinda weird but the story quickly smooths out. <<less

The story is like any other bl and rebirth story. Nothing new. But as izaya said which genre doesn't have cliches?

The translation leaves a lot to be desired, but am still thankful to the translator for providing a story to read in the first place.

It was interesting to see another rebirth along with the MC.

If you love a good old rebirth BL story, then this might be for you.

Lin Yu Tong dies in a ridiculously tragic manner after discovering his cheating boyfriend's ways. Miraculously he is reborn eight years prior to that incident and decides to change the trajectory of his life and do things differently. One of them being to agree to an arranged marrariage to the male god Zhan Yi Fei... and the rest is history.

This is a trope that has been done but never gets old. That said, this one did... more>> not completely hit the mark for me... Or maybe I've read too many. Lin Yu Tong's past life was not established enough for me to invest in his new present life. The emotional ties to the past that makes one root for a character's come uppence were not that strong. For a story like this the greatest strength lies in the reader investing in the main character's journey. We should want revenge on those who did him wrong, get joy from his success and love who he loves. There is a bit of a disconnect when it comes to the past and present for all the characters. What one can appreciate about Lin Yu Tong and Zhan Yi Fei's love story is that there is zero angst or misunderstandings and the focus is on family bonds. The two of them grow into ride or die power couple husbands. All the characters themselves are interesting but missing some depth or feel too surface level.

The story, the characters and style are all a bit too melodramatic in my view but I can see how others would enjoy it. It is all a matter of personal taste which is why I gave it quite an average rating. With all that being said, this is still a good read to pass the time and the writing got better with each chapter. <<less

This story is full of fluff and a bit of drama. The story moves slowly and mostly it's about how the couples spend their time together (and the papapa~ scenes). The ML is so sweet!

As for the translation, it has many errors but it is still understandable.

Let's get this out of the way first: this is a straight novel reskinned. If you replace "he" with "she" you wouldn't be able to tell the difference for 99% of the content, even during intimate times since it's semi-censored. Complete with the perfect homemaker who is good at cooking and cleaning, filial to her parents, knows how to handle relatives, bonds with the aunties in the family over cooking, buzzes around all busy with renovations or doing charity making her husband feel left out, the obligatory "when are you... more>> going to have children"... etc. He's treated and addressed as a woman in all kinds of ways.

Now that's not the reason for my low rating. There is nothing wrong with a well-written straight romance, I would have rated it much higher if it were good. My issue is with the writing.

    • The villains are as one dimensional as it gets, the typical "I'm evil, I hate my son/brother/father for no reason and I just want to do bad things to them because all I care about is money."
    • The way things work in that world is ridiculously shallow and fantastical. That's not how conflicts are resolved, that's not how humans act/react, that's not how business works, that's not how law works, that's not how finance works, that's now how any of this works.
    • I couldn't care for anything that happened after the wedding. The conclusion has been reached, so trying to tie uninteresting loose ends that nobody cares about (in the most comical way, I might add) and spending 20 or so chapters on them is pointless.
    • The aftermath of every "bad" character had me in stitches. The typical successful revenge story after which things go from 0 to 100 and the characters fall from grace spectacularly in every way imaginable like a sadist's daydream, it's almost comical.
Verdict: only read if you're a fan of fantastical melodrama, although there are much better and more exciting options out there. The only other reason I can think of is if you're bored or want some background noise. I use text to speech to listen to less interesting novels in the background while doing other things. <<less

It's not bad but it's not that good either. I really like the first 30 chapters' progression on how like they find their way through htheir love but that's it... they found it too easily and I wonder how they gonna drag it in the end. I just skimmed the remaining parts and the story was fine though.

Omg bruh it was so good it even made me an ace who prefer to be alone want to get married 😭😭😭

The number on rate r bullsht, I read the insidethemirror translation, and I think the reason previously on the bad reviews is because the mtl like translation

Anywho the story is exactly like the synopsis dude got betrayed and killed by his 8 year long lover reborn and then decided to "fck him" and try to mend things.

In the process he accepted an engagement from our ML which then made... more>> them such Fcking fluff of a couple wtf 😭, they directly registered and lived together all from the start

The story is more of a slice of life marriage couple life rather than, there's a plot into this tho I have a few questions for example

~meh~ Ok sorts of story. Even though its a rebirth story, the MC's ex doesn't play much of a role, and the entire story is dedicated to the MC/ML love story. It seems as if the rebirth thing was added just to make a convenient plot device for MC and ML to get married...

It has it's sweet moments, but also forced ones. The concept of marital r@pe seen as romantic and worth envying for is something I probably won't ever understand in CNovels... At times, the story line was very... more>> forced, making it boring, before some new plot was inserted.

The translations are a bit messy, but still better than reading MTLs. <<less
