Writing this review after completely reading this novel for the 17th time (yes, I counted) and skimming and only reading my favorite parts for the umpteenth time. This novel has to be one of those amazing ones with a very non-violent but intelligently plotting MC and surprisingly cooperative ML (disregarding his badass appearance and past playboy record) in a rebirth story.

# The first thing that caught my attention was how possessive the ML was from the very beginning and how wholeheartedly dedicated he was in protecting the MC, despite... more>> guessing that MC was keeping a lot of secrets from him. The MC's hesitation in accepting ML's goodwill and attention while realizing his own emotion towards ML was also very touching. This pair of lovers is on the top of my list of favorite couples who are equal in a relationship in every aspect. # Next is Kang Jian, the antagonist. I must commend the author for creating such an easily hateable character like Kang Jian, who lives and breathes hypocrisy. The ending of him is miserable, but I just didn't want him to drag clueless girls down with him in both lives.

# The knowledge of past life was used by MC to the fullest, which I really appreciate because there are some rebirth novels that simply don't make sense about the rebirth as the MC keeps acting brainlessly despite knowing the consequence. # MC and ML got their priorities straight, ML wanted his family to be safe and sound, MC wanted to surpass his past self while keeping a backup in case he needs emergency funding and all. It was a great read. The MC was a bit OP but he had his fair share of struggles in the past life, so it's all justified. It balanced out well with the ML's very human persona (like he's not a mighty character without flaws, he made mistakes, suffered, corrected himself).

# Can we all take a moment and appreciate how adorable Xiao Hai is? He's the most sensible son and heartwarming character in the novel, also a child who acts his age. The exchanges between Xiao Hai and his Ah Bai are at times hilarious enough to keep me ROFL and cute enough to make me go Awwww.

The character development of each character was good. Besides the MC and ML, I really wanted a story for Hong Hong- the assistant, and some extension on the story between MC's manager and her ex-husband. But this is a BL, so I have to carb my cravings.

All in all, it's a good read. <<less

It's one of the best-written rebirth novels with entertainment industry. The MC, after his rebirth, decides to avoid his scum ex and his black bellied relatives, so he goes along with "missed opportunity" which he declined in the first live due to moral principals - become a kept man (kinda, he was hoping only to borrow five millions to pay off his brother's debt before breaking off relationship with his relatives otherwise they would have kept demanding for money which in the past life left him in debt cabal).

The ML,... more>> he is notorious for having a pattern: keep a boy for a year or two, then break up with them throughly nevermind the other side's feelings on the matter. Which, he broke at least one heart this way.

He, at the start of the story, isn't someone who can believe in the sincerity of feelings or trust all those who are willing to enter relationship for money or resources for him, but still doesn't break away from the pattern - because of his past, and that's very heartbreaking part of his story too.

ML was interested so much in the MC in the last life exactly because the MC refused to become one of the pattern, even under great pressure throughout his life, which culminates I'm his death in disgrace. Now, when MC actually turned out to be exactly the says all the other people selling themselves to ML, he feels gratified... Until MC proves him wrong, and instead they both slowly fall in love.

The worst (for a given definition of worst, by which here I mean knives) thing about the novel is the villains. Both of them are quite pitiful, and their ending is sad, though deserved.

For someone who loves the trope, definite rec. For someone who is wary to read this, give it a try. <<less

This was a really enjoyable read. It explores dark themes, and yet managed to stay light-hearted at the same time. Really suitable for binge-reading.

PLOT

It is a rebirth novel. MC who was betrayed by people he trusted: his lover, his family suffered a terrible fall from grace and subsequently passed away. When he wakes up, he discovered that he had returned back to 10 years ago, before everything started.

The storyline seems kind of cliched and overused but it is actually really good? Instead of wanting to take revenge on everyone and... more>> everything that had done him wrong, MC decides that he wants to try living better in this second chance. Shows that the best revenge is actually enjoying live and living well.

Plot-wise, I have to say that this novel is really similar to "Very Happy". But this novel is more of a more mature, realistic version of that one.

CHARACTERIZATION

This was really great fun too. MC feels like a rare treasure amongst some other cliched shou. He is very intelligent and takes really measured and calculated steps in order to achieve his goals. More than anything, he feels really like a person with realistic flaws.

Same can be said for ML. Although there are some general gong traits that you can see from him, he is also surprisingly quite a complex character too. I would have liked it if the author explored his character more too, but I guess there's not enough chapter count to do that.

The rest of the supporting characters are really interesting, especially the main couple's adorable af son. All in all, I have to say that the character are all mostly well-rounded and well-written. (Exception for some minor villain canon fodder characters who are relatively one-dimensional).

STYLE

The writing style is extremely easy to read. Pacing is quite upbeat, which is understandable for a light-read novel. The story just keeps building and building to the point that you just cannot stop reading.

The author should probably keep a character sheet, I think. Minor directors and minor artists kept getting misnamed.

CONCLUSION

I recommend this novel to anyone who would like to read a lighthearted, healing novel. The revenge plots (courtesy of ML) were very satisfying to read. More than anything else, the fluff was just too cavity-inducing to be passed up. <<less

I love it so much

it’s not too long or too short, they tied the loose ends nicely, the characters are lovable and cute, good pacing and great translation..

the ML starts off on a wrong foot but he makes up for it tenfold making him one of the best mls, the MC just like the tags is really calm and mature, they communicate well, almost zero misunderstandings which I really like

the kids are cute and is the best wingman, love them

What to say... only that for me it is a very good novel, I liked the characters and above all that it is not dramatically long, for the better I didn't get bored at the middle of the novel, like many others novels.

The characters are likeable, but of all the kids are so cuteeeeee~

So I recommend to read it :3

I really liked this story. The romance is good because it was gradual and the communication was good. The addition on the children makes it fluffy and fun.

What's good about this novel is the main characters. MC is not overly OP or obsessed with seeking revenge. He is nice and ML is also pleasantly nice throughout the novel. Their relationship is beautiful and the way it's slow and they get to known each other is refreshing.

The revenge is quite satisfying and the characters grow throughtout the story.

On the downside, there... more>> are forgotten characters which had potential and looked interesting such as

My original rating to this is 4.6 (yes, it's Because of the child element and fluff)

After reading lots of Rebirth novel with revenge theme, it's kind of nice to read Rebirth Novel with Passive MC with no intention of revenge.

Love ML and MC and how their relationship turned.

I really enjoyed it. Especially Because of the QXH. Author did a good job adding this (Kid) element. I really want more of his story with his RZ. Cyclist X Nerd/Businessman......... whatever.

I wished author had given us ML age. Since we didn't got the ML age, I don't know why but my imagination of him was as an old (around 40 or above) image. I know his description tell us he's not that old but I can't stop my imagination, since patrons are usually old man (•᷄ὤ•᷅٥) . hahaha

During the main story, I was speculating that ML had also reborn because of how open and welcoming his attitude was. But he wasn't, so its also somehow interesting.

Also, I felt quite annoyed with Su Quan but Kang Jian's actions was wayyy more annoying, so it overpowered Su Quan's annoyance in my heart. I felt sad for Su Quan's ending.

Oh I love this book. The MC and ML are perfect together, no s*upid misunderstanding between. The ML is straight forward and doesn't beat around the bush, the MC tries his best to match this honesty. Their son and his boyfriend are so cute together ????

The novel is so full of fluffs till I can't stop grinning. The romance is fast paced too, so I won't have to wait for a long time till I can eat all the dog food, which is one of my biggest point in choosing any novels to read next.

But, a little thing that bother me, is the main source of all the disaster and this rebith thing's reason : that's it, the villain (Kang juan).

Yes he has no shame, he spread the news about the MC is being kept by ML to his colleague (MC's enemy), and still harbor love and jealousy towards MC even till the end of the story. But he hasn't done any real damage since the beginning in this life, right?

I think, it's enough for him to be divorced by his wife, become poor, and shame him so he can't even show his face to anyone.

Although I keep convince myself that he deserved all of these bcs of his black heart and intentions. But, even life has became so much worse and unbearable to live in this extend in my opinion.

Sorry but for me, the author write too exaggeratedly. Also the plot is easy to guess (which actually is totally fine for me).

I know many would disagree with me bcs this is unpopular opinion, but I can't prevent myself from complaining about this lmao <<less

This is a light read for me. I love the couple interactions, and also their son and his future ML interaction. For me at least this one it is not boring that makes me skip chapter or dropped in my reading list so I recommended this one..

re-read this because it was just too good. the book is very warm, perfect for a light read.

there are many conflicts between the main characters and side characters. which makes for a good plot, leaving you interested in reading.

very interesting to see the character development of Wang Yun, when he realized that his heart went astray from his original purpose to be a doctor. love to see how healthy the relationship between MC and ML is. they are willing to communicate directly, which is a refreshing change from the usual... more>> "i misunderstand you" but "you wont forgive me" type of situation.

really want to see more of Qiu XiaoHai (ml's son) and Rong Zan tho, they'd be so cute. maybe...a sequel? <<less

Great! This is my cup of tea! I'm not exaggerating but this is a really good novel because the drama just served it's justice!

Flow of plot is neat, the drama isn't too much that will make you cough up blood, it's just above average. I love how they resolve the problems, like I said, it served justice!

I also commend Bai Lang (MC) for being rational and soft despite of all bad things happening to him, he's a great character! Maybe at first I was disappointed because he threw himself to ML without any feelings attached after rebirth, but later on he will show to the ML from being distant to caring. ML on the other hand, I must say, being an ex-playboy, he really hit the jackpot on MC! See here, MC is really good for accepting ML despite of his past! Though ML balanced out our very good MC, ML is ruthless, cunning and has a temper, but he really loves his family (which really captivates me especially the kid!).

The villains are also crafty here, I'm already tired of villains who are dumb on some novels, so here they are good at their characters which will make the story more intriguing! clap! Clap! Clap! Side characters are also good, though a lot of names are mentioned here but you don't have to take note of it all.

Overall verdict, 5 ? Very recommended! Definitely worth it and will reread this in the future! <<less

Very nice! The couple are matured and loving. When faced with troublesome moment, they act swift and decisive. Truly a pair!

The first half of the drama has a dark undertone and I couldn't help but be swayed with the mood as well. I do not know if me being moody is the reason why I couldnt see ML in a good light.

It is MC himself that said with ML /on his past life/, he felt like a knife was always on his throat. ML was also portrayed as a scum who only wants pleasure and frankly, I couldn't get it around my head how this two seemingly people who uses each other, in a s*xual and carreer ways, to be that in love. I just felt that ML's character was not in line with MC. I get that some novels also has this opposing couples, but it was different with ML. He seemed.... low. He spoils but he threatens. And even after their heart to heart talk during their vacation, I still couldn't think that ML truly loves MC. And tbh, that confession part came abruptly, as if the author wanted to erase the bad in ML just because he likes MC. It was only after ML got into an accident that I felt good about him. After that they were closer, and much happier.

If not for that I would've rated this 5 stars.

MC is calm, and he doesn't seek the past enemies like other novels, instead, he lets them be and only if the enemies courts death, will only he act against them, of course with ML's help. That's a plus point. I really really like MC's level-headness.

Actually, I've tried to read this a few months ago, but I couldn't appreciate it as much as I do now. So I like it! <<less

Aaaaahhh... so beautifull!!

Its easy to read, cute and full love. I wish this story never end, and will have hundred extra chapter!.. but aaaw.. its ended..
