This story started off great - imperial princess is betrayed by the man she loved and killed by her uncle. Luckily, she is reborn into another person. Her goal is to save her younger brother (now the puppet emperor) and get revenge for herself and her parents. I enjoyed watching her make a name for herself through her medical skills, develop friendships and slow accomplish her revenge step-by-step.

If the story ended once she accomplished that, then it would have been great. Unfortunately, everything became convoluted and I lost the interest... more>> to continue reading.

To save her teacher, she needs to find a medicinal ingredient in a neighboring country. The ML gets injured when trying to rescue her. She is forced to marry another prince in exchange. ML loses his memory hates her because he thinks that she schemed and betrayed him in order to marry the prince. ML gets drunk and forces himself on her. She gets pregnant and fakes her death to leave the prince. ML almost gets married to somewhere else. She leaves believing he got married to someone else and gives birth to a daughter. Then there's a time skip to 2 years later.

It became a mess.

Because of how things ended up, I felt like the relationship I had been rooting didn't live up to my expectations. The summary is also misleading! She never even became shizi fei. By the time they did get married, ML was already a wangye. They were never going to have a fake marriage! (I was slightly disappointed by this because I love the fake-turns-real trope). It all felt very anti-climatic and I felt like my investment into their relationship didn't pay off at all. Even when they are finally reunited as a family, more obstacles keep on showing up.

The original girl ML was engaged to is still in the picture. The foreign prince (now Emperor) finds out she faked her death and kidnaps her back. Her annoying family keeps on hanging around.

Luckily, the chapters are quite short so it didn't take too long to read. However, by the time I reached the Chapter 1100 and the story began focusing on their daughter and her love triangle, I lost interest.

TL:DR - first part of the story is great. Rest of it... not so much. <<less

As far as reincarnation Ancient China novels go, this one is okay. So far the MC has been able to counterattack all schemes and wow the world with her godly medical skills. It's also good that she ditches the sh*tty family rather early so they don't appear that often.

I also liked that the MC and ML only appear to have a 2-yr difference, MC is 17 and ML is 19 at most. And the ML doesn't seem to be the typical cold, ruthless prince-type ML (he's actually a duke's heir).... more>> He's not exactly warm, and can be cold, but he has more of a sharp tongue and acts rather childish / petty around MC lol.

The main problem is that.... it's very dry. The writing style, the so-called conflicts, and the characters themselves. Especially the MC, I really can't connect with her. She's the typical cold beauty that only comes 'alive' around the ML - they're interactions are actually the best thing about this tbh (they also knew each other in the past life so maybe that's why).

Thus, I wouldn't really recommend this unless you have time to spare and are especially bored like me. <<less

I intended to continue this novel, I liked a lot, but I read the review bellow and lost interest. I will not invest my time, you might as well read the review too, even with spoilers, because I think this will save you from starting this and wasting time as I did.
