This novel is really good. You will not at all feel bored throughout the novel it went in a really good pace and the storyline was portrayed in a nice and correct way. If you like rebirth and face slapping and strong protagonist story this is for you.

Wow this FL is weak at all but attitude. She is reborn and goes back up the mountain for precious medicinal herbs, startles a boar while stuffing her face [yes she is that airheaded in the depth of the mountain] and runs away.... from a wild boar... trips [because of course she does] and falls down another slop and passes out on a tree branch dangling over the edge of a cliff [becaise of course the weak FL does] of course the ML comes and rescues her.

Next day she and... more>> the ML go lookong for herbs together. She watches uselessly on the side as the ML fights a giant water snake. Only acts once the ML is swipped away by the tail and coughs up blood. What does out useless FL do? Pick up a tiny shovel and charges aimlessly trying to "help". Yea she gets knocked out before she can get a couple steps. And again wakes up and the ML reauces her.... again, I mean you made her the cliche damsel needing a man to breath on day one. Why do the same on day 2? All your doing is leaving an impression you will continue to rinse and repeat the same cliche and we wil be left with a weak and useless FL who needs the ML help to walk two steps without falling and killing herself with her own naive s*upidly.

This is a girl who was raised by a doctor for 20 years... same place... same mountains. How is she so useless on these said mountains if she has been doing this since she was young? Thats like having a story of a ML who spent his whole life hunting but once the story starts the hunter no longer knows how to trap, track or hunt in the same environment that he has been in for the last 20 yrs.

So I'm highly disappointed in this FL. She turned out to be such a burden and clueless that its hard to have sympathy for someone like that when they get in trouble again... and again... and again. <<less

The first 180 chapters deal with two sisters, both adopted by a kind village doctor, who want the same thing (to marry the same man, to claim the same set of parents as their own, to own the same gold finger - a magical bracelet, to manage the same billion dollar pharma business, etc.) and in their first lifetime one sister takes everything from another and kills her. Then both are reborn, back to square one, and the victim seeks revenge while the abuser struggles to recreate the successes of... more>> the first lifetime, but nothing is the same this time.

This arc seems to be over by ch180, but the evil sister ain't dead, just imprisoned while pregnant, so who knows. I am honestly not looking forward to more chapters about her scheming, hatred and evil deeds, her evil backers, and her suffering/punishment.

The evil sister is rescued/kidnapped from her imprisonment in the FL's sect in ch 221 and dies Judas's death (her belly explodes) inch 229.

Otherwise, it is a story about a doctor+bodyguard couple, they are from the same village who grew up together as kids, both cultivate strength, spiritually and physically, level up, belong to different sects, etc.

It starts as in rural and provincial China in 1985, with food coupons, tiny salaries, cars, tv sets, home phones and fridges being luxury items, etc. But it quickly develops in the direction of a secret society of cultivators and pill makers, some sort of underground or parallel life, so it is not really about China in the 1980s, but a fantasy world with (spiritual) treasures, power struggles between sects, etc. <<less
