Very very exciting book. What I've read so far reminds me a lot of Top Management as far as the actual quality goes, and I think it's fairly widely agreed Top Management is probably the best idol manager webnovel ever made. Likeable enough main character, terrific supporting cast, funny when it's supposed to be funny, serious when it's supposed to be serious. A real quality book.

I'll keep reading, but I needed to write a review at this point. I don't know which came first, but between this, Top Management, and Max Level Rookie (don't remember the full name / not translated the same way everywhere), my favorite is still the latter by a wide margin, for one main reason:

The MC is a likeable character.

But this is not a review of that novel. Many novels suffer from a protagonist who is supposed to be smarter than the author, which can then not be depicted convincingly. That... more>> is not the case here. Not because the MC is smart, but because he's consistently s*upid, and lacks not just basic insight or emotional intelligence (dense MCs are common either way), but also any measure of proper self-reflection.

Compared to the stumbling and hypocritical MC (who even got screwed in his original life despite already having a cheat - that's how incompetent he is), most of the side characters are actually likeable and carry the story, and it's much easier to care about them than the MC.

I do think the author went a bit overboard with the personality issues of the girls, but on the other hand it makes it more credible for them to fall in love with the MC. Highly functional people probably wouldn't. <<less

people seem to hate on this main character in this comment section but I don't think that's justified. He reminds me of Korin Lork from "I killed the Academy Player", but if Korin actually experienced internal character conflict based on how he has been treated, which is not a flaw. Our MC says he's going to try and live more selfishly - and then he doesn't, although he keeps thinking about trying.

I actually like the girls too - all so far have personality and anxieties. The novel isn't glorifying the idol world either. As for their relationship with MC: If you like heavy love, you will like this novel.

I think the writing is fantastic, and the translation is of good quality. :)

Man I love this story a lot. It's such a great blend of characters who want to change in their lives, yet usually are unable to. All 4 MCs (I only had a very brief encounter with autumn, the 4th protag in the story) are people who are framed with multiple problems in their life, and are refusing to help themselves come out from their situations, until a singular encounter with a person, who slowly shifts their perspective upon how f*cked up, and reliant they have been on others, and... more>> on their excuses to refute change. The story does have pretty interesting characters, but I feel like (atleast till the point I read till), the characters themselves haven't been truly challenged. I especially feel like a lotta work should have been done in the proper characterization of the MC, cuz he genuinely just feels like a blank slate, who will help people cuz he "wants to defy fate" or some bukaroo sh*t like that. It ain't fun at all.
